Devil Dinosaur #3 (Kirby, June 1978). Devil can’t speak for himself so Kirby balances the story with Moon-Boy’s monologuing or narrative caption boxes. Yet Devil still feels like a character with ideas and opinions of his own. I giggled at this “are you kidding me?” expression Kirby drew for a giant dang lizard.

Description

3 months ago, Adeel was taken from his home, after a strange series of visions that led him to discover the secrets of The Order, and ancient group losing its grip on society thanks to it’s war with a rival one. Now, sent on his first mission as The Order’s prophesied savior, he meets Alex, the last scout sent out by that same rival organization, trapped in space and time. Only Alex can talk to the deities on either side who supposedly want this war happen, and he claims, they don’t. (BL)

This is so reminiscent of the '60s Hanna-Barbera cartoons! I know Devil's hanging out in the present with Moon Girl, but I wish someone at Marvel would commission a couple of quick cartoon shorts of these pals in the H-B style.
