Hey, really random, but it crossed my mind: What would be everyone's reactions to River walking to them for the first time? (askthedragonheartcrew)

Marco
Marco was sitting in the infirmary, doing some paperwork, when he heard the door opened. tilting his head, he saw Rain coming with River, the boy looking as energic and happy as usual and he tried to get out of his mother’s arms. A soft shuckle left Marco, knowing that the boy was fine. Rain stopped little ways from Marco and put the boy down. A secretively smile danced on her lips, making Marco raise his brows in confusion, before he attention was back on the boy, who was getting onto his feet. The boy took a few unsteady steps, almost falling over, but regained balance and took the few steps to Marco’s legs, grinning brightly and proudly up at the phoenix.
Griining back, Marco lifted the boy onto his lap and ruffled his hair affectionately. “What a big boy you’ve become, River. Already ready to cause trouble, yoi.” Marco made a mental note to lock all closet doors in the halls and put on the child safety stuff on drawers and such. Still, he was happy that the boy could walk on his own and while it was still unsteady, it was a big thing. “Guess I’ll have to write it down in your journal, yoi.” He kept track of everything regarding the boy, the journal already thick with notes about his growth so far.
Izo
Izo was sitting on his sunchair outside, enjoying the warm weather, a bottle of ice tea and a book, when he heard the familiar blabber of River. Closing the book, he watched as the boy - who had been sitting nearby playing - trying to get onto his feet. “Come on, River. You can do it.” Izo encouraged the boy and smiled, when seeing the boy standing on unsteady feet. “Good.” He smiled not expecting more from the boy. After all, just standing on a moving ship as a toddler was an impressive feet.
However, River seemed to have another plan and wabbled over to Izo’s sunchair, much to the man’s surprise. A big grin was on River’s face, even when he fell onto this rear. Not even crying, the boy got back up and managed to walk the last few steps, so he could grab hold on the sunchair. Still semi-shocked, Izo stared at teh boy for a few seconds, before smiling warmly and picking him up, giving him a kiss on the cheek. “That was amazing. Such a big boy you are. I*m a proud uncle.” He praised the boy.
Thatch
Thatch had heard that River had started to walk, but due to his busy schedule, he had yet to see it. Not that it bothered him, he knew that he couldn’t be there all through the boy’s first, he wasn’t the father after all. He knew he would soon enough see it, the booy had an appetite of life and was so curious. Sooner or later he would be walking around on his own, exploring the ship.
So when River walked towards Thatch, the cook started to cheer on him. “That’s it. You’re doing so great. Come to uncle Thatch. You can do it.” Thatch was one big smile, as he felt honored that the boy would walk over to him on his own initiaitive. Seeing the boy walk and do his best, was making Thatch feel proud to be part of the boy growing up. When River reached Thatch, the cook picked him up and danced around with him. “Way to go, champion.”
Whitebeard
Whitebeard was one of the first people to see the boy take his first step and he couldn’t help but smile proudly. His grandson was doing really good and while he did fall, he didn’t cry. He was more annoyed and it reminded Whitebeard of when Marco first tried to fly. A chuckle left the old man, as the memory surfaced. Now he made another good memory, as he watched how River’s parents and those around encouraged the boy to try again.
After some tries, the boy could take more and more steps. It was then the boy’s eyes were fixed and focused on Whitebeard and with detramination he headed towards the much larger male. Curious Whitebeard watched, as the boy drew nearer, the eyes shining with pure determination, as if Whitebeard was a goal the boy had to reach. “You definitely have a strong will, little one.” Whitebeard smiled, as he reached down and let the boy climb his hand. “You did really good. Now rest up a little.” It had to be exhausting for the boy to walk this much on his first tries.

Kirno’s Preface: Dear readers, the objective of this handy preface is not my suffix that Consciousness is a “State of Matter” as the eminent cosmologist Max Tegmark explained recently in his extract which he submitted in Cornell University’s academic sphere. Consciousness is not new in the context of human intellectualism. The advancement of modern science again presented the very old…
