Meet the Seiyuu: Sebek Zigvolt

Sebek’s VA Ishiya Haruki was a track-and-field athlete who had to give up his athletic ambitions after becoming injured during a competition. In a 2017 interview he explains that he watched a lot of Crayon Shin-chan while recuperating in the hospital and, impressed by the performances, he decided to become a voice actor. 

Ishiya says he would work as many as three part-time jobs simultaneously—mostly in restaurants—to support himself while attending university in Tokyo, sometimes visiting riversides to look for edible plants such as wild leeks, clovers and dandelions to eat.

His first lead-character role was in 2015’s Sound! Euphonium. He also voiced Denkigai Tamotsu in Akiba's Trip -The Animation- and had lead roles in Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life, On Air!, Hypnosis Mic - Alternative Rap Battle-, Sengoku Basara and in Tantei Bokumetsu for the Nintendo Switch.

He has a YouTube Channel where he uploads videos of food, ducks and livestreams of his own show, "Haruki’s talking place”, where he talks about Idoly Pride, FGO and recent things in the industry. It is very cute.

Is the second season of shouwa genroku rakugo shinjuu good? I fell in love with the first season but my life got so hectic when the second came out I never got the chance to catch up!
