This Week’s Horrible-Scopes
It’s time for this week’s Horrible-Scopes! So for those of you that know your Astrological Signs, cool! If not, just pick one, roll a D12, or just make it up as you go along. It really doesn’t matter. Better yet! Check out “Heart of the Game, Fredonia” and see if they can sell you those D12’s with the symbols on them. Tell them “Shujin Tribble” sentcha. And “Hail, Hail, Fredonia!” Home of the Blue Devil!
Summer is right around the corner, so it’s time to start making your vacation plans. And we’re JUST the place to help you decide what to do and where to go. So get out your debit cards and get ready to plan your hotel stays. Remember, there’s a 30% Restocking Fee for any cancelled bookings. The Horrible-Scopes will not be responsible for any accidents, either mid-air or on the ground, to anyone using Ryan Air.
Aries
We’re suggesting you plan your vacation to Costa Rica. It’s relatively easy to get to from the USA and Canada, has reasonable prices, ridiculously clean beaches, and the locals are friendly. What’s not to love about this choice? So This Week… Make sure you book a visit to the Cloud Forest in Monteverde. It’s totally a magical experience!
Taurus
Where Aries went with a reasonable price tag, we’re sending you off an expensive one. Even booking through Costco you’ll be paying about $8,000 for 5 nights - but that puts you in an overwater bungalow, all meals, all flights and taxi to/from the airport - and the destination? Bora Bora! So This Week…  Your high school-level French won’t be needed for this trip, but we suggest a hard hat. You’ve heard of Australian Drop Bears? How about Bora Boran Drop Coconuts? That can be a thing.
Gemini
Speaking of the Australian area of the globe, we’re sending you Fiji. No, they do not make Fiji-Brand Water there. But speaking of, bring a good camera with you because you’ll want to remember the water there to swim in. Just amazingly blue and warm water and you’ll enjoy every minute of it. So This Week… When you plan your vacation, just avoid Denarau Island. That’s where you’ll find the largest concentration of Australian Bogans visiting. If you don’t know what that term means, just ask an Ozzie - they’ll explain.
Cancer Moon-Child
We’ll make this one super straight-forward: Iceland! Try to imagine visiting a country that’s incredibly safe, welcoming, chilly, but built like it’s just one giant national park. It’ll be a great visit with a better-than-average chance to see the Northern Lights at night. So This Week… There is an incredible and authentic Ethiopian restaurant in Fludir, run by an Icelandic man and his Ethiopian wife. Some of the best food and coffee. You HAVE to get there and check it out!
Leo
Fancy taking a trip to the European mainland? Don’t care - we’re sending you to Spain. It doesn't get much hype but it promises sun, sand, cheap beer, cheap food, and it delivers 100% of the time… on the experience, not delivering food to you. If you want to stay away from the British and German tourists, plan on visiting the Basque region. It's a little more akin to the Pacific Northwest in the US, with a nice cool climate, still with stellar food. So This Week… You likely didn’t learn Castilian Spanish, so you might be treated with kid gloves if you try to speak Spanish to the natives. At least they’ll respect the effort.
Virgo
Some have suggested this location and it’s stirred up a nasty hornet’s nest of opinions. We’re suggesting you go to… OHIO! Now, yes. Ohio’s birthed a number of people who have gone on to intentionally leave the planet for space, but that’s not exactly a bad point. It could be said that they were simply looking for somewhere more exciting than Ohio, and not finding it on the planet, looked elsewhere. So This Week… Order a bottle of Loganberry Syrup to get your taste buds ready for a week at Cedar Point. You’re Welcome.
Libra
Plan on getting SCUBA Certified because you’ll need it as you head off to Belize! We’re going to remind you to research “the Blue Hole” so you can stay away from it, but this will be an awesome underwater experience! Imagine what it’ll be like to swim with stingray, small sharks, lots and lots of fish, and even eels that you can touch! Nothing will come close to that first dive with your instructor. So This Week… Always fall backwards out of the boat when you’re going SCUBA Diving. Because if you go the other way your facemask will hit the floor of the boat.
Scorpio
Here’s a sleeper hit for you - and you best not go bragging about it to anyone: Northern Michigan. Giant sand dunes, beautiful bays, the Great Lakes, Mackinac Island… It’s like a different country compared to the rest of Michigan. The woodsy lake vibes with all the waterfalls are truly amazing. So This Week… Just remember that you are right next door to Ontario, Canada up there. Do NOT annoy the local bird life.
Sagittarius
You’ll likely need a translator to help you out at times, but you’re slated to head out to Edinburgh, Scotland. Do your research and look up all the touristy places and stay way the hell away from them. You may love bagpipe music, but by the third day of hearing it incessantly, you WILL want to lance someone through the chest with a Claymore. So This Week… buy new socks and cushioned insoles for your shoes. Since EVERYTHING is uphill from there you WILL need them.
Capricorn
We’re sending you WAY up north to Juneau, Alaska. The wilderness is amazing to walk or trudge through, depending on what time of year it is and the weather. But even beyond the daylight hours, you’ll have an amazing view of the night skies - and again, a better-than-average chance of seeing the Northern Lights. So This Week… Make sure your passport is valid because if you want to head to Anchorage, that’s a 925Km (574Mile) straight-line distance, but that’s a 19 HOUR DRIVE! Do NOT run out of fuel on the drive!
Aquarius
We’ll suggest you consider Maui. Both the location and the animated character as voiced by Dwayne Johnson. We’re pretty sure most of you would LOVE to visit either one for various reasons. So This Week… Don’t even THINK about getting Maori tattoos on your body. They are painful and you WILL regret even trying.
Pisces
You will be getting the best vacation location. No, seriously.. This is the vacation everyone else on this list is going to be asking to trade with you for. (*Grand Pause*) Grandma's house. Just Picture It - Cartoons & Silver dollar pancakes any time you want them, homemade spaghetti & meatballs, and fresh baked cookies before bed. So This Week… We’re not crying! You’re Crying! Shut up!
And THOSE are your Horrible-Scopes for this week! Remember if you liked what you got, we’re obviously not working hard enough at these. BUT! If you want a better or nastier one for your own sign or someone else’s, all you need to do to bribe me is just Let Me Know - or check out the Ko-Fi page ( https://ko-fi.com/icarusthelunarguard )! These will be posted online at the end of each week via Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, Discord, and BLUESKY.

FIJI ~ THE RETURN
(Yasawa islands & the Coral Coast)
🎶 “One the road again” since the dreaded global pandemic. I left Canada at the end of 2016, now it’s 2023 and may the travels continue. Currently living in Brisbane Australia with my partner in crime. Zach and I travelled 5 hours to Fiji, only to be met by the warm weather and musical greetings.
Nadi: Hustling to find a taxi we made it to smugglers accomodation. Just as I remembered 6 years ago, smugglers is somewhere to crash for a night and nothing much has changed. The following morning we hopped on a bus and headed through Nadi to Port Denarau where we met our boat, the south sea island cruiser. Aboard the vessel we road the roof top, 4.5 hours all the way up the Yasawa islands to the famous Blue Lagoon Resort.
Blue Lagoon: White sandy beaches fringed in coconut palms, cobalt blue and turquoise coloured ocean. Blue lagoon is home to an endless natural beauty and the loveliest of islanders. Located near the end of the Yasawa chain of islands. Fun Fact: Blue Lagoon is known and named after the 1980s film, “Blue lagoon” (starring Brooke Sheilds). We spent our time here free diving the “Sawai-Lo” caves on the neighbouring island. Snorkelling with turtles, sea life and a vast display of ancient colourful corals. After a scenic hike accompanied by the village dog we named, “Nipples” our evenings were plentiful. Kava rituals, an endless buffet, traditional song and dance that even we were sure to partake in. Blue lagoon was one to remember.
Manta Ray: Onto the next one! After the Lagoon we ventured down to Manta Ray Island, an island I had once visited 6 years prior. Friendly and laid-back, this island will forever leave its mark in my mind. Scenic views of neighbouring islands and known for its flocks of majestic manta rays that soar through the current like birds in the air. Often the locals will sound a conch-shell and as if it were a Black Friday sale, everyone then races like a group of warriors to the boats. Prepared to battle the current in hopes of seeing these majestic Mantas. We swam like hell in attempt to see them but ended up being the 2 of few who were unsuccessful. We enjoyed a lovely meal with an evening in our seaside villa just steps from the ocean, the waves lulling us to sleep. The following morning we watched the sunrise and enjoyed a beach stroll, playing with hermit crabs along the shoreline. We were met with slight disappointment as the island pump had broken, running us out of clean water. Unfortunate and uncommon but not the end of the world, we had to quickly re-arranged accomodation to another island further south.
Naqalia: Travelling from Manta Ray we headed down the Yasawa to a small island called, Naqalia. With the change in accomodation we managed to find a small home stay with a local family on the island. Unique and rustic, the family ran a lodge that was completely hand made and everyone played a part in accomodating us. With little cost Zach and I had a roof over our heads and met handful of fellow travellers, open to experiencing Fiji locals like few tourists ever get the privilege of having. The family cooked a meal that I strongly attest was the best food we had the entire trip. However Zach wasn’t feeling great so the following day he stayed back while I did something I’ve never done before. The teenage boys from the Fijian family of Naqalia had driven an older couple and myself kilometres from land to a large reef in the open ocean. After getting past some large waves we jumped in the centre of the reef where we snorkelled above large trumpet fish and schools of white tip reef sharks. The young boys who brought us even hand fed the sharks right in front of us which seemed dangerous yet thrilling.
Barefoot Kuata: After a short stay at Naqalia lodge we were brought over by a small boat to Barefoot Kuata. Over the shallow beach and endless colourful reef, tucked away in the towering palm trees is a hidden gem. Barefoot Kuata resort is a luxurious stay where Zach and I had an amazing boho-beach inspired accomodation with an outdoor shower and bathtub. After exploring the cave and sunset lookouts with endless views. We kicked back with great Buffett dinner and night snorkel. The following morning we both went diving for the first time in 3.5 years. Unlike any other dive this particular one was with 3 meter long bull sharks. Known for being an aggressive breed of shark species, we still did it. Watching 10+ of these fascinating animals swarm in a feeding frenzy as one of the locals fed them at a depth of 22 meters. Barefoot was a memorable stay and a place I’d love to visit again.
South Sea Island: Six years ago I had a very memorable, laid back stay on south sea island. Taking only minutes to walk the perimeter of this island, and accomodating no more than a handful of people. I had connected with a group of travellers I still occasionally keep in touch with. However it seemed this island had a subtle facelift and is now a popular destination for other travellers looking to spend the day from neighbouring islands. Still very enjoyable, we slept in a small cabin steps from the sea. Watching the sunset change, as it went from a small amber glow to filling the sky with touches of magenta and cotton candy pink. After saying goodbye to the Yasawa islands and the few fellow people we met along the way we carried on to the mainland.
The Road Trip: Embracing spontaneity, we met a local worker on south sea island who agreed to driving us 2.5 hours for $200. Even though it was very much out of his way, it was the best way to educate ourselves. Before starting the road trip into the night, we first stopped by his village where we had the privilege of meeting some of his family and local animals. Zach, the driver and I spent this time indulging and comparing cultures and ethnicities before picking up a fourth. We pulled into a village to pick up the drivers cousin and the 4 of us carried along driving. Like the beginning of a bad joke, an Australian, Canadian and two Fijian men drove across mainland Fiji comparing stories and sharing riddles.
Pacific Harbour: After the long and winding roads, we said goodbye to our fellow Fijians. Ending up at our final destination…The Pearl Resort. Located in Pacific Harbour, The Pearl is a beautifully landscaped resort with all the comforts of home. This did not end the adventurers in us! We managed to squeeze 2 more dives in with a local company. These exploration dives were stunning! An array of sea life, lion fish, sharks, trumpet fish, nudibranch and soft corals. My particular favourite part was the ship wreck at a depth of 23 meters with large over hanging fan corals cascading off the sides of this rusty, old vessel.
After our final experience scuba diving we headed back to The Pearl. This location is a great way to stop and rest before heading back to the hardships of reality. Here we lived the highlife, indulging in food, spa treatments and poolside cocktails. Amazingly, to my surprise I even bumped into one of my south sea “fellow travellers” from 6 years ago. However this time she came with family too, not the lonely traveller who I once met a long time ago. So happy for her! (Laura)
First time overseas since the global pandemic, first time travelling with Zach, second time in Fiji and it’s just as wondrous as I recall. Home to 333 islands, 120 of those islands inhabiting the loveliest of local people. With its main source of economy being tourism you can understand why Fiji is an oasis for those wanting an escape. A tropical paradise scattered amongst the Pacific Ocean, Fiji will always hold special unforgettable memories.
Bula and Vinaka Levu
“Life and Thank you very much”
Until next time,
Michael Medeiros

New horizons: Intrepid locations for your next South Pacific Holiday | Spacifica Travel
If your appetite for travel has you craving new tastes and sensations, but you aren’t sure where to adventure to next, then this list is just what you need. As South Pacific Island holiday experts, the team here at Spacifica Travel know just the location to suit your needs, so if an intrepid new holiday spot is in order, then our recommendations can get your planning started. As always, our team are on hand to assist with any trickier questions or to provide tailored costings and availability, so feel free to contact reservations team here. Now, let’s dive in!
Fiji
Most Australians have been, or know someone who’s been on a Fiji holiday. The majority of those holiday makers are staying either on the Coral Coast, in Denarau, or on an island in the Mamanucas. But there is SO MUCH MORE Fiji to be explored that it could boggle your brain!
Our recommendation: Savusavu Now this is on an island called Vanua Levu to the north of Viti Levu, the main island of Fiji. Savusavu is a 2.5-hour domestic flight to a landscape reminiscent of a Robinson Crusoe escapade. In fact, it’s known as Fiji’s “hidden paradise” and was the lush setting for a few series of Survivor, believe it or not! There are markets, INCREDIBLE diving and snorkelling on pristine reef, waterfalls, pearl farms, and authentic and gracious cultural experiences. When you next travel to Fiji, we suggest you consider Savusavu!
Cook Islands
A booming destination that Australian travellers are really only just starting to pay attention to is the Cook Islands. Rarotonga is home to the international airport so understandably receives the majority of tourists. But, if you’re a nature lover looking for something beyond a standard beach vibe and the Cook Islands capital, then the outer islands are where you should direct your attention!

DIScoVER fIJI — Spacifica Travel
There is a warmth to Fiji that is only partly explained by the gorgeous year-round temperature. The communal spirit so inherent in Fijian culture translates to visitors being welcomed generously, with each vibrant greeting of “Bula” accompanied by a sincere and gracious smile. Such unaffected kindness has earned this Pacific nation a reputation for being one of the world’s friendliest.
Spend your days daydreaming while floating around the turquoise waters of Fiji, or enjoy a world-famous sunset with deep pink and purple hues, best enjoyed with an ice-cold beer in hand. Dive deep beneath the surface and meet the local marine life, surf some of the best breaks in the world or spend your day being pampered and massaged at an award-winning day spa. Take a daytrip to a deserted island, swim with dolphins or journey to the floating Cloud 9 bar where you’ll spend a sun-filled day drinking cocktails. There is so much to see and do in Fiji, that one trip is never enough.
Fiji as a travel destination is synonymous with romance and luxurious getaways, an association that is truly justified — though Fiji is like a diamond, with each facet reflecting the nation’s diversity. Its blend of Melanesian, Polynesian, Micronesian, Indian, Chinese and European cultures results in a multicultural society — though Fiji hums with a unified community spirit. The cultural diversity, history, customs and landscapes are so rich and interesting, they’ll leave you spellbound and wanting more.
Encompassing more than 330 islands and 500 islets, the ample charms and natural beauty within Fiji satisfy the needs of every traveller, from the adventurous to the languorous. From luxurious resorts in Denarau to traditional Fijian home-stays in the Yasawas; lush forests of Taveuni to sparkling waters of the Mamanucas — the beautiful diamond of Fiji can be enjoyed from every angle.
EXPLORING THE HEART OF FIJI
Fiji’s allure extends beyond its sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. The heart of Fiji lies in its rich traditions, where ancient customs blend seamlessly with modern amenities. A Fiji holiday offers:
Discover the chance to fully engage in local village customs,
participate in traditional Fijian ceremonies, and
delight in the genuine tastes of Fijian cuisine.

[ad_1] Powder-soft, sugar-white sands, lapping cyan waters, and timeless traditions make Fiji an ideal island-hopping escape. But if you’d prefer to base yourself in Nadi, Fiji’s main gateway on the island of Viti Levu, you can easily experience some of Fiji’s best islands on day trips. From the very first Bula! (meaning life, and the go-to greeting here), to the laid-back, archipelago-wide ‘Fiji-time’ that will soothe you out of any stress from home, you can unwind as easily in a resort as on a yacht trip around the archipelago. Especially as smiles crack as often as coconuts here But Fiji isn’t exactly famed for being the cheapest of destinations, and taking private transfers around the more luxurious islands can quickly add up. As such, not straying far from the airport can be tempting. Whether you base yourself on the resort-heavy Denarau Island, pick an affordable hostel near Nadi, or stay at my favourite, the First Landing Beach Resort further up the coast – it has a foot-shaped island and shaded bungalows – these Fijian day trips will allow you to experience everything the archipelago others. From sailing trips on catamarans to scuba adventures and mud-heavy thermal pools, here are all the fantastic day trips I took from Nadi. The foot-shaped island at First Landing Beach Resort Castaway Island An island escape doesn’t get much more pristine than Castaway Island, and for the most part, you’ll need to cough up to stay in one of the private islands’ beautiful Bures and enjoy an indulgent Fijian stay. However, a limited number of day visitors are allowed to alight on these paradisical sands and enjoy everything the resort has to offer. The paradise-like Castaway Island Beach Resort From snorkelling along the coral reefs and strolling through the forested hills to lounging in the shaded pools or sipping a cool one in the bar below Tom Hank’s oar from the film of the same name, a few hours here will have you relaxed and rejuvenated. But don’t get this confused with uninhabited Modrik Island, where the actual film was set, or you might inadvertently end up trespassing here, courtesy of some local fishermen, as I did. Instead, take a day trip to Qalito Island (the official name of Castaway Island) to enjoy everything it offers. You should absolutely book your day trip to Castaway Island in advance, as it’s popular and numbers are limited so as not to infringe on the resort’s guests. But once here, you’ll have no regrets – and it saves you forking out for a luxury suite. Kava Ceremony on Robinson Crusoe Island Robinson Crusoe Island This palm-fringed spec of sand, officially Likuri Island, is a fantastic place to stay a few nights and soak up the island life. Known as Robinson Crusoe Island, the accommodation on offer here is excellent value when compared to some of the other island resorts. Sadly, since my visit a few years back, they have got rid of their dorm rooms, which were a wallet-friendly way to live the island life. Still, the private rooms still don’t break the bank. If you aren’t staying here, then it makes for an excellent late afternoon day trip from Nadi. On the popular sunset sailing visit to Robison Cruise Island, you’ll glide through jungle-shrouded waters before reaching the island, where a serenade of meke dancers and musicians awaits. Fire dancing on Robinson Crusoe Island You’ll have a bit of time to enjoy the island, take a dip, and watch the sunset from underneath a gently swaying palm tree before the evening’s entertainment begins. Including a Kava welcoming ceremony, more dancing, fire performances and a vast buffet cooked traditionally in an underground Lovo. All in all, I found it a really decent value excursion, given everything that is included. Just know that this day trip from Nadi requires a bus transfer that adds an extra hour or so on – the jetty through the jungle-edged waters is a bit away from Nadi itself.
It’s also fair to say it’s a relatively tourist-primed event rather than raw and authentic, but if you want to experience all of the above and don’t have much time, it’s a solid choice for a cracking night out. Head to a floating bar on a day trip from Nadi Cloud Nine Bar This bar is nowhere near the clouds, nor is it near anything else. A large wooden deck, complete with a bar and daybeds, Cloud Nine Bar floats in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by a multitude of cerulean-hued waters. Its main draw is the sheer coolness of being able to sip a cocktail, listen to a DJ, and grab a pizza before jumping off the bar into the bath-like waters below, the pretty Mamanuca Islands in the distance. We rocked up here with our fisherman friends and went onto the floating platform for a few drinks and a quick visit (which, I think, is allowed if you randomly happen to be passing through the middle of nowhere and need a beer), so this might be an option if you don’t want to dedicate a whole day here. However, most people book this day trip from Denarau Island. Given Cloud Nine was so popular, it’s no surprise that a second floating bar now exists, the Seventh Heaven Floating Bar and Restaurant, and day trips to this one can be slightly cheaper. Take a day trip to private Savala Island Savala Island Without a doubt, Savala was one of my favourite islands that we visited on a day trip from Denarau Island. It’s remote, peaceful, and lapped by the most inviting of turquoise waters. On the boat ride here, guitars playing and free beers flowing, I was already in my element, and that’s before I spotted the tiny isle in the distance. With an unlimited, all-inclusive bar, excellent lunch buffet, sea kayaks, snorkelling gear and even a massage tent, you can pamper yourself, tan yourself or head straight into the water for your entertainment. There isn’t much shade here, so pac your sunscreen, but if you want a get-away-from-it-all island escape, book OoLaLa’s day trip to Savala Island. Four of us hired a small boat for a day trip to Bounty Island Bounty Island Bounty Island was the set for one of the first Celebrity Love Island seasons more than a decade ago. Being relatively close to Viti Levu and having a resort, it’s also a popular place to stay. However, if you want to visit on a day trip from Nadi, it’s also possible – and given it only takes around 30 minutes by boat, it’s one of the quickest you can take. White sands, palms and everything else you’d expect are found here. There are also some excellent snorkelling and scuba diving trips off the island, making it a popular easy-access spot for spotting marine life. Families will also appreciate the facilities, entertainment, and water sports that are readily available on this island. You can either book a short day trip if you don’t have much time or opt for this longer day trip from Nadi that sails between a few of the Mamanuca Islands with lunch and water sports included. Hiring a local boat and stringing together sand bars was a dreamy outing Do it yourself! There are so many different day trips from Nadi and Denaru Island to countless other islands that it can be hard to choose, and the costs can quickly add up. An alternative, which we did for a couple of days, was to befriend some local fishermen who were already going out anyway, and we offered a fair price to join them on their fishing trip. These two days were my highlights in Fiji. Not only did we get to chat and connect with the two young guys – and try to help them fish – but we ended up visiting random spots, stopping at tiny little sandbars while they headed off with their rods, and combining a few islands into one day. Stopping at tiny sandbars is a Fiji day trip highlight Nadi’s markets and temples Nadi Town is a relatively sleepy place, but you should absolutely not miss taking a day trip into Nadi itself to see the local fresh produce markets and craft stalls and sip on a criminally cheap coconut.
It’s best to try and avoid the day’s cruise ships are in town, as then it can be crowded. But this is a decent Fiji day outing as you can just hop in a local taxi, no tour needed. Get your driver to also take you to the small Sri Siva Subramaniya Hindu temple, a quick stop will be enough time to visit. My travel buddy Simla and a local artisan in Nadi’s markets Nadi Hot Springs For a different kind of water relaxation, venture to the Sabeto Hot Springs and mud pools. It’s a decent half-day trip from Nadi. After a short drive, you’ll arrive at the laid-back venue where a handful of sellers hawk their local goods, and bubbling hot springs sit nearby. Given the temperature of the springs themselves, the water is filtered into a collection of pools, which you dive into after caking your body in the warm mud, baking it out to dry and then washing it off. Don’t go expecting a full-blown spa-style site, as this is anything but that. It’s just a cool thing to do, and the people working there were a friendly bunch and they have a super playful dog. No need to pay for a high-priced tour, just jump in a taxi and pay when you arrive. If you’d prefer to book a day tour from Denarau Island, then this tour takes in the town’s highlights, including the hot springs, gardens and the temple. Soaking in the Nadi Hot Springs Gardens of the Sleeping Giant Another popular day trip from Nadi is the nearby Gardens of the Sleeping Giant. It’s a lush landscaped garden area with native, colourful flowers and shaded trails around a legendary dormant volcanic crater. You could use your taxi to do both the hot springs and gardens together. Beyond the gardens, and something you might want to book a tour in advance for is the zip-lining and waterfalls located nearby. I didn’t personally bother with this as I’d heard the zip-line wasn’t that impressive and wanted to save my cash. But if you are interested, you’ll find more details here. The peaceful Sleeping Giant Gardens Want to island-hop on a budget? Another alternative, if you want to island-hop without such high costs is to look at Feejee Experience. It’s far from a luxury operator and is more targeted at backpackers, but its travel passes and wallet-friendly options will allow you to visit a selection of islands without breaking the bank. Overall, Fiji is a bit pricey – and flights from Australia and New Zealand can be the biggest investment of the trip. I actually flew from Singapore, and the direct flights with Fiji Airways were surprisingly cheaper from there than the nearer nations. Accommodation doesn’t need to be too expensive though. After my friends had departed, and we were no longer splitting the cost of Bures between four, I went and checked into the very good value Tropic of Capricorn hostel. I only found this place by asking around about hostels, as it wasn’t listed on the major booking site – so do shop around if you want to find a decent deal. Sure, the beach there isn’t one of Fiji’s finest, but it made for a great affordable base to extend my holiday and take a couple more day trips from Nadi to the outer islands. However you explore Fiji, I hope it gives you the same permanent grin that it gifted me. There’s something very special about this archipelago – and they really don’t need to be as expensive as you’d imagine. Diving into crystal-clear waters from a boat – Fiji doesn’t get much better than this. [ad_2] Source link
