A Warm Cup Of Tea On A Cold Winter Night - A Deltarune Fic
When Pink woke up this morning, they felt as if they were freezing.
"Oh.." For a moment, they had felt normal, warm even, "What a lovely morn-"
But then the sleep had left their eyes, and they had been hit with a wave of pure cold.
"What the.." Their brow furrowed. They began to hug themselves, softly rubbing their shoulders in a meager attempt to garner some warmth, "Did winter come early or somethin'?"
Chuckling at their own joke, they hopped out of their bed and barely repressed shivers as they walked towards the bathroom.
They looked at themselves in the mirror.
(... For a moment, they could've sworn their eyes were pure white, looking almost.. frozen over.)
But as soon as they blinked, they were back to normal.
... Well this was a confusing situation, wasn't it?
Sighing, they felt their signature salesman smile begin to form on their face, almost subconsciously.
"Those bills won't pay themselves, Pink!" Though their voice was enthusiastic and carefree, it was certainly not genuine, "You wouldn't want to end up like.. Him now, would you?"
With that last, scathing reminder of their past.. business partner, they fell into the routine that had become the status quo for them for all these years.
Everything was fine. Everything was perfectly okay. Nothing was out of order.
----
"Would you perhaps be interested in a flower bracelet?" Their charismatic and suave voice was a little.. off today, but they doubted that any of the customers could tell the difference, "It would match your eyes!"
The Tasque they were advertising to looked them dead in the eyes and replied: "meowowow meowmeowmeow mrow"
.. What were they expecting?
Still, The Tasque seemed to be somewhat interested in what they were selling, judging by the look in its eye and the fact it hadn't walked away.
(.. What? When you work in sales for a long time you learn to pick up on signs!)
They clasped their hands together, "Wonderful! I'll go fetch it for you right now!"
Humming as they rummaged around their store looking for the damned bracelet, they opened various compartments and whatnot as the looked around.
Where did they put it again? They could've sworn they placed it right next to-
❤️ Iceshock.
... What?
Peeping their head outside their store, they met the eyes of the Tasque once more.
"I apologize, but did you say something?"
They watched the Tasque tilt its head in pure befuddlement.
.. Strange.
"Ah. My mistake then."
Stepping back inside of their store, they readied themselves to begin aimlessly searching for.. whatever it was they were looking for before.
That must've been a fluke, they told themselves, must've been the wind.
Internally, they scolded themselves for bringing it up. It was the number one rule of salesmanship: Always act like everything is fine, even when it isn't. Never make the customer uncomfortable.
The Tasque must be getting tired of waiting at this point. They really needed to speed it up-
❤️ Iceshock.
Was their store always this cold?
❤️ Iceshock.
Why was their vision getting blurry?
❤️ Iceshock.
...
They blinked, wincing due to how bright everything was.
What had happened?
Everything was fine one second, and then the next-
... Wait a minute.
The customer.
Racing outside, they mentally prepared a thousand apologies for making the Tasque wait so long. Maybe they could throw in a free subscription for-
The Tasque wasn't there.
It.. it must've gotten tired of waiting and left.
Yeah. That was it.
... At least that's one less customer they'd have to pacify today?
Yes. This was a good thing. A good thing.
They plastered on their trademark Addison grin, and waited for any potential customers.
...
(Since when did their ring get so numbing?)

MINI THEORY: Ice Palace Victims and Why Dragon Blazers Is Haunted
Dragon Blazers is a game likely cursed by a wizard. Really.
Noelle: “Normally one of the characters is supposed to guide you through the maze. But it became one of the most famous (or should I say infamous... XP) parts of the game because if you go there without that character, you’ll basically get stuck.. FOREVER. The developers actually say something about this in the manual... It warns you this glitch is actually “one of the bad guy’s magic spells”... Yeah XD... Sorry guys, I think you were just eating a little too much fruitcake when making this part of the game. XP”
The narrative framing of Noelle being overly dismissive of the "bad guy's magic spell" idea suggests this is the truth
There may already be characters "stuck forever" in the Ice Palace.
Snowdrake’s mother Crystal may have “fallen down” before dying.
Snowdrake's mother has a gravestone in Deltarune, and her cause of death in Undertale would have been "falling down" before being kept alive as an amalgamate
A boss Noelle and Rudy have never seen before, “Silver Drake,” appears in Dragon Blazers as the Ice Palace boss.
Noelle: ““Silver Drake?” I’ve never beaten this boss before...” (Normal Route)
Rudy: “Silver Drake, huh? That’s a new one. Alright, what’s the plan, honey?” (Weird Route)
Rudy: “Ice on the Ice Palace boss?”
It may be that Silver Drake is Crystal in some form.
“Silver Drake” sounds very similar to “Snowdrake” and “Chilldrake.”
Rudy thinks ice won’t be effective against the Ice Palace boss, but fire will, implying it’s an ice-themed enemy; Snowdrake’s family is ice-themed
Unless Dragon Blazers III is a new game that revisits the Ice Palace, or Noelle’s blog entries are from another timeline, then Noelle has replayed the Ice Palace many times since childhood
Despite this, Silver Drake is new to both her and Rudy, which could imply it suddenly appeared in the game
Rudy may “fall down” into Dragon Blazers as well.
Rudy is very ill and likely to "fall down"
The Ice Palace may have something to do with the FreezeRing, as both keep people "frozen" inside forever.
FreezeRing description: "A ring with a snowglobe on it. ...is that someone inside?"
Spamton Value Network (non-canon, but has alluded to canon events): "I didn't spend years inside the ring for nothing! YEARS inside the ring. YEARS inside the ring. YEARS inside the ring! So much pain, and that's value."
Spamton and a "famous genius" - possibly Gaster - may have been trapped in the Ice Palace before.
Spamton: "AND NOW I'M [frozen in there] WITH SOME STUPID [Famous Genius] I'VE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF"
Spamton: "I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M [trapped together in one room, and the door won't open until they]"
Spamton mentioning being trapped with someone behind a door that won't open "until they" seems similar to Noelle's description of the locked Ice Palace door
If the "Famous Genius" is the same person Spamton is trapped in a room with, then Spamton was also "frozen" there, further implying an Ice Palace connection
Berdly may also appear in the Ice Palace in some form.
If Berdly's fate after the Weird Route is to have "fallen down" before dying, then he may join the ranks of those trapped in the Ice Palace
If the main cast visit the Ice Palace and encounter enemy Rudy, Susie will try to use her healing magic to “revive” him.
Noelle: “I wish I knew healing magic in real life. Then I’d make you better and...”
Toby Fox mentioning a character in the upcoming Chapter 2 using healing magic who isn’t very good at it “yet” - as of Chapter 2's release, the character turned out to be Susie, and she still isn't good at it, implying she may get better in the future
If she is successful, maybe other characters can be rescued from the Ice Palace in a similar way.
(Screenshot credit)
#deltarune theory#rudy holiday#snowdrakes mother#deltarune#this is some very out-there and speculative theorizing based on very little evidence lol#so take with a grain of salt#the only parts of this that feel certain to me is that something is up with both 'silver drake' and the freezering#now that we know the ice palace is relevant and a specifically creepypasta area#and the fact that we might even visit it to cash out that mysterious door chekov's gun would make these setups worth it

speaking of dr, there's something that really annoys me about how shallow the ship discourse around kr4lsei is. I'm not sure I'm 100% behind this for the same reasons i doubt toby will go full in with noelle's mom being abusive, ie "those are very delicate and complex topics to handle, does he have the time and space to deal with them in deltarune's story?" so take this with a grain of salt.
(warning for brief mention of incest, so I'm putting this under a readmore)
i think the discourse being framed as "thinking ralsei is presented as a romantic interest" vs "thinking ralsei is compared to kris' brother or like a family member" is incredibly stupid because those are... both true at the same time. yes, there's an unskippable "tunnel of love" scene, and it looks like ralsei could have somewhat of a crush on kris. but ralsei still 1) looks just like a dreemurr, 2) clearly plays, as a character, on our feelings and memories of asriel from playing undertale, as evident by their designs and their names being anagrams 3) i am 99% sure Noelle was going to say "that kinda looks like asriel" while looking at him eating cotton candy with Susie, and Susie herself suggests telling toriel he's "a long lost cousin". either way, if ralsei is meant to play on our feelings towards asriel, then as asriel's sibling, kris is likely gonna feel similarly.
are you uncomfortable? good! you should be. that's the point.
it's not random that the snowgrave route was framed and portrayed with the imagery of a wedding. first the freezering, then the thorn ring are explicitly compared to wedding rings. "we're just friends"/"we're something else". "YOU'VE BEEN MAKING [hyperlink blocked (...LoVE?)], HAVEN'T YOU?" noelle with whom kris had a strained relationship, whose feelings (platonic? romantic? we don't know) we brute force in what is the most chilling, manipulative, cruel iteration of chapter 2's story we could take... it's almost as if deltarune uses kris being forced into romantically coded situations they're deeply uncomfortable with as a way to showcase their lack of agency in the story.
and being pushed into romcom-like situations with a guy who looks like their brother works pretty darn well to follow that pattern, if you ask me.
now, if a forced romance with noelle represents their lack of agency in regards to the player, then... a forced romance with ralsei could represent their lack of agency towards Fate. The Plot/Story. unskippable cutscene, remember? not to mention ralsei's whole purposepilled shtick he clearly has a complex about.
this does raise a couple of questions about susie though, as the third option in the "who would you take to the fair with you" question, the one option kris seems to agree with, as well as being a character who is actively resisting the narrative.
because there's people who are very much FOR krusie, just as there are people against it, i doubt their getting or not getting together would work to represent kris gaining their agency back. and i believe i speak for everyone when i say that susie is going to play a huge part in that arc. either way, i'm curious to see how this develops.
idk! like i said, I'm not sure just how much toby is gonna go into this because it IS a very delicate subject. but it's an example of what i mean when i say "there's more to fandom than shipping" and "fixating so hard on Shipping Good Things" can be detrimental to analysis. I'm not cancelling anyone with this post, go on doing your thing whether it's kr4lsei or r4lsusie or krus1e. but if your first thought going into this was "I'm gonna ignore the part where the game compares ralsei to asriel because that would make my ship incest and that is Bad and uncomfortable" then... that's a very cheap way to interact with media? lol. sometimes being uncomfortable IS the point. god knows utdr makes you uncomfortable on purpose sometimes. ok rant over :P

Fool's Fate Chapter 6
So I'm gonna make a ref for Soxs later but through a hilarious voice call influenced by a reblog on my last post I have figured out the plot of Fool's Fate Chapter 6.
Throughout the entirety of this Dark World set in Sans's convenience store, you have no idea who the leader is. No one mentions them, and asking any of the Darkners will just result in them asking what you're talking about and implying the world doesn't HAVE a leader.
Eventually you'll hear of someone you think someone MIGHT be the leader of this Dark World is a few NPCs and Darkners keep mentioning a mob boss who's no one ever met. Most notably some enemies similar to Rabbicks from Chapter 1 of Deltarune and enemies similar to some of the Lintmice from Chapter 1 of Fool's Fate who talk about their boss. Still, you don't quite seem to figure out who this mysterious mob boss is until near the end. The only other instance you might have at any mention of a leader of any sorts besides this mob boss is one of the shop keeps mentioning an old "Hermit", but no one's heard from him in some time. Especially not since the Knight showed up.
Also throughout the Dark World, in any room with no other NPCs, you'll encounter this character who just looks like Sans in a milk carton costume. When you talk to him, you enter a shop menu, no matter which direction you talk to him from. The milk carton introduces himself as Snas, Snas the milk carton, and will sell you different types of milk. From normal milk to "finely-aged" milk, which is expired and will poison your party, except for Naomi. You can also buy a "finely-aged" milk sandwich, which is a block of expired milk cheese in between two pieces of moldy bread, which Naomi will also eat no problem.
In the room after Snas, the party will run into Suzy, who is here because she works part time at the shop. She was initially texted by her boss (Sans) to track down the mob boss you've been hearing a bit about at this point. When she finds you, she gets another text as the silhouette of Snas the milk carton can be seen in the background on the phone before Suzy enters battle with you as her boss then told her no kids allowed in the store anymore. After the fight, she offers to help you before the fanfare from Deltarune Chapter 1 plays again and she says screw that and goes off on her own again. As the fanfare plays, the silhouette in the background is joined by an identical one, and both of them play trombones to the fanfare.
As you keep going through the world and running into Snas the milk carton, you have no idea if he's actually just Sans the skeleton as Sans is no where to be found, despite this being his store. Snas's color scheme looks identical to Sans's in the Light World, only being a more slightly yellow white for his bones, and trading out the blue for red. Snas also seems to make cheeky remarks to Sans when you mention him. "sans the skeleton? never heard of him. though that rolls of the tongue better than snas, might just steal it." Is this just Sans in a milk carton outfit????
You don't know for almost the entirety of the chapter, but it seems very likely. You're also still confused of who the main boss is, it's probably the Hermit one of the shop keeps mentioned (that shop keep likely being Snas), but you still don't know who the Hermit is.
Eventually as you reach the end, and the final area based off the counter, Snas will stop you from accessing a back area without an employee card and mention there might be a back way to the back area through the freezer area. Once you get to the back area after getting an employee card either from Suzy in the freezer area, or Snas just by continuing to talk to him (Snas's employee card is covered in dried milk crust and says "Sans the skeleton" on it) you can eventually find a building that looks to just be a cardboard box warehouse with "Sockems' Secret Base" written on it. You'd could learn by this point that those Rabbicks and Lintmice Darkners following the mob boss call them selves the Sockems if you back tracked and talk to a large Rabbick miniboss/shop keep wearing a button as a hat named Dusty. Dusty will mention that the base is likely where their boss is held up, plotting her next scheme against the Hermit after being exiled by him. To get in you'll have to learn the secret pass code after going on a side quest Dusty sends you on.
If you go into the secret base, you'll get jumped by the Sockems before meeting the mob boss, who ends up being the secret boss of this chapter, a sock puppet Darkner named Soxs Calzino. Leader of the Sockems.
She is a very angry sock, but if you can defeat her, you'll earn her respect and she'll lend you her strength as an armor or weapon depending on how she was defeated. Notably though, she doesn't drop a Shadow Crystal like any of the other secret bosses afterwards. If you talk to Dusty after, he'll tell you her backstory and you can ask about the crystal, but he won't know a thing about it other than noting Soxs did have some weird glass thingy she'd carry with her, a little before and after swearing vengeance on the Hermit, but she lost it at some point.
To get the Shadow Crystal, you have to go talk to Snas.
"huh? you picked up my sock? that must've taken a lot of effort. here, have this." And then Snas will give you the Shadow Crystal with no explanation as to why the hell he has it.
When you finally reach right before the Fountain, you'll be faced with Snas once more as he apologies and admits he's run out of ideas to stall you but he can't allow you to close the fountain. Not for any dramatic reason but just because it draws in customers to his milk business. This is where it's revealed that Snas is the Hermit, and thus the final boss of the chapter. His fight is similar to Sans's genocide fight, just with milk theming. After you defeat Snas the Hermit the milk carton, the actual Sans will walk in. Completely unchanged from his Light World design. He explains how he's been watching from the side lines the whole time and helping Snas out before letting you go close the Dark Fountain.

Ice-E's P'E'ZZA Secret Boss: Greas-E
Time for a new Deltarune secret boss, this time for Ice-E's! The lovely art was done by the splendorous @zootyplex (commission her, her art rocks) and the fabulous @creepa-b0t-inc for the sprite renditions!
Now then, for the boss himself. Greas-E hails from the Corporate World of Ice-E's, run by the head C'E'O. In days long past, Greas-E served as the C'E'O's top enforcer, the one he contacted to get shit done, through violent means if necessary. Greas-E was fiercely loyal to his boss, being a part of the Family Menu in the upper echelon. He new the job came with a lot of risks, a lot of downsides, but he didn't care. He served his duty well.
One day, however, a haphazard Darkner spotted him in the middle of his less than moral activities, word of which did take very little time to spread throughout the Dark World. The C'E'O was certainly not happy to hear this, as he sought to maintain his profits with a proper family friendly image. As much as it killed him, he had to banish Greas-E, remove him from the menu in order to save face. As such, he was banished to the Icy Shelf, and left to be forgotten.
It was here that he came to meet a special someone among the tundra, one who showed him capabilities he never knew he even had. Powers that linked him to a grandiose machinated giant that lay dormant in the ice. He was ready to Supersize, all he needed was the right group of schmucks to help him finish the last minute prep time "That Weird Guy" got him on track for.
As for his Light World origins, his story is slightly more complicated than the average Light World Darkner backstory.
Greas-E was originally the benign pompadour type mascot for an item on the Ice-E's menu, part of the corporate attempt to make more of a cast for Ice-E, so they could market more toys and boost their funds. He was meant to advertise and sell the Super Mega Pizza Burger Triple Patty Greasemaster Deluxe, which was even more unhealthy than it sounds.
Of course, this terrible menu item led to some serious health concerns for the public, inevitably leading to its removal from the menu. However, the franchise had jumped the gun by a significant margin and had already begun construction on a line of animatronic entertainers for the Hometown location. They were intended to be half machine and half organic material from whatever product they were supposed to represent, that way, they could Serv-o Up Smiles!
This was an all around terrible idea.
Greas-E's animatronic was the first one to be put into production, and subsequently the first to be canned. However, they couldn't get rid of it, so, they just shoved it in the back of the freezer at the restaurant alongside the last unsold Super Mega Pizza Burger Triple Patty Greasemaster Deluxe patties.
It was here he was to stay. Here he was to rot. Mold and mildew slowly overtaking the meat on his body, but his hate still remains. His desire to get back on the menu and prove to his boss he can still be useful burns just as bright as it did before. And he'll serve up a 2-for-1 deal on pain along the way.
"What? What? Youse single serving punks tink you got ANYTHING on da Greasemaster? Tink again, Cornball!"
"We all pass our best-by dates, cornball, even the freshest meats expire!"
As for his general deal, Greas-E is a dirtbag sleazeball mafioso. He's a dick to most people, except his boss who he holds in the utmost regard. He speaks with an Italian American accent, much like a stereotypical mobster. He also consistently refers to himself in the third person as Greas-E or the Greasemaster. During his speech, he also sprinkles in a variety of food service references into his speech pattern. After meeting Kris, he tends to refer to them as Cornball or Order Reference Number M040N, or moron.

An Angel Is Born - A Deltarune Fic
Part 2 of "A Warm Cup Of Tea On A Cold Winter Night"
----
Pink had begun getting really into The Light World recently.
They had been reading about the clouds, the sun, the sky.
It wasn't for any particular reason, mind you - they simply found themselves getting a little.. curious all of a sudden, that was all.
(That was the same thing he said before.. before-)
In their studies, they had discovered something that truly fascinated them.
The Lightners worshipped a deity - The Angel. The same way Darkners worshipped Lightners.
"What in Light's name could possibly be above.. well, a Lightner?" They had thought.
Thus, they had done more research into the subject, and well..
What they had found was wonderful.
The Angel was incomprehensible to any eye - Lightner, Darkner, Human, Monster.. no mortal eye could ever truly understand it. The Angel watched over them all in it's omnipresent eye, guiding them to whatever destinies it believed best for them. It had the ability to control the very fate of everybody that existed in this plane of reality. Those who were lucky enough to be shone on by it's light, were rumored to be blessed with powers and abilities that would allow them to shape their own destinies, as well!
It was while they were reading about this absolutely glorious being they were visited by none other than Blue.
"Heya, Pink." Blue greeted, his cheerful voice just barely managing to hide the pure exhaustion in his tone, something only an Addison would ever be able to recognize. He glanced towards their storefront as he leaned on their cash register, "Business slow today?"
"No!" They yelled out on instinct.
'I am not like him whatsoever I am not like him whatsoever I am not like him whatsoever-'
"Pink..?" Blue had put his hand on their shoulder, a concerned look on his face. "Are you okay? Do you want to clock out early today-"
They cleared their throat, putting on a deceptively calm voice in order to soothe Blue's nerves, "Don't worry. I'm.. I'm fine. It's just been a bit of a.. stressful day, that's all."
Blue's face looked emphatic as he walked up to stand beside them, "It's okay to admit that you're not okay sometimes, you know that right?" He giggled, "We're family. And family is always there for eachother. No matter what. If you want, I can.."
Pink found themselves spacing out as Blue talked about what has could do to make them feel better. After the.. incident, he had been focusing more on making sure no one's feelings were ignored. They didn't do it on purpose, mind you. It was certainly a sweet gesture that Blue was willing to do for them, but-
❤ Iceshock.
There it was. That.. voice again.
They had been hearing it every day these past few weeks, trying to get them to examine random things more closely, to talk to people they didn't even know the names of. They were beginning to sick of its apparent omnipresence over-
... Wait a minute.
❤ Iceshock.
"Maybe I could even get Orange to chip in, if he's not too busy with that new commission he was talking about earlier- Pink?"
'The Angel watched over them all with its omnipresent eye, guiding them to whatever destinies it believed best for them...'
❤ Iceshock.
"Pink, are you okay..? Do I need to call somebody-"
❤ Iceshock.
...
"P-Pink, what are you doing-"
...
They awoke to the sight of an ice sculpture right next to them, miraculously not melted in the heat of their store.
"Oh? How nice of somebody to gift me this.." They murmured tiredly as they began to drag the statue into the backroom of their shop, "Was it Blue? He always did like giving gifts.. I'll have to thank him for it in the morning.."
---
Extra notes:
Totally unrelated but every time i write pink I picture them having the voice of rarity from mlp:fim
Also yeah. 'Player is the angel' theory is canon in this.

Major spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen. You've been warned. Also, if you don't like spoilers, pls don't read them. Negative comments make me sad :(
Reviving significant others can be a bit tedious because one worries that they'll feel forever in your debt.
That's how C.C. feels when they've witnessed the death of Toji Fushiguro. Obviously, after Satoru Gojo left, C.C. had to put their plan into action. First, they make sure the area is clear. Second, they carefully lift up Toji's body, making sure nothing breaks in the process. They began the tedious trench towards their destination. An abandoned bunker that has been left standing for years. C.C. found this one day as they wandered town while Toji was off doing "work." C.C. can't lie and say that they weren't disappointed by what the job was, but regardless, after being transported to the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Toji is all C.C. had until his death.
Now C.C. knows about Jujutsu tech and all that jazz, but it still hurt seeing what Satoru Gojo did. Killing their only source of comfort was kinda shitty, but how did he know? Satoru has no knowledge about this newcomer. Still, as C.C. arrived at the bunker, numerous people who also researched ancient revival spells went to greet C.C.
C.C. was like "the leader" in a way where they could tell others what to do. One of these people was a young girl named Jane. C.C. handed over the body of Toji to her as C.C. got to work. Going into the freezer of body parts that they've found during many adventures throughout alleyways, underground places like abandoned subways, and other places. Taking out an arm and part of a torso, C.C. made sure that part of the torso was in a relatively ok shape.
C.C. and their group got on black robes and a black square full-head covered mask, making sure there's a voice changer in there, and got on with the next step.
Next, C.C. slices off a side of their right arm, making sure the tattoos are ok, and begin to draw a bloody circle.
After some time, the body of Toji plus the limbs that C.C. got all placed in the circle. Now, the hard part is actually performing the spell. Going through their spell book, they found the right one. Taking their hair out of the ponytail, they started the spell. Chanting and chanting until they lose their breath.
After a few seconds, a gasp can be heard. Quickly, C.C. sat down in the bloody circle, placing Toji's head on their lap. Slowly, they began to play with his hair in a soothing manner. Finally, C.C. begins to sing quietly.
"When the light is running low and the shadows start to grow
And the places that you know seem like fantasy
There's a light inside your soul
That's still shining in the cold with the truth
The promise in our hearts
Don't forget, I'm with you in the dark"
End of part one
Song is called "Don't Forget" from Deltarune

Random's Lore Drops - I ran out of ideas for underfell joke names, Toriel
Howdy hey fellas, what's cracking? Been outta the loop for a while. Anyways, looks like I'm planning a schedule (no i'm NOT) for weekend posts, maybe every other weekend, or just every weekend. Anyways, I've been away, for a while, huh? Yeah, uh... fuck it, fell toriel jumpscare! (Art obviously by the one and only Vicky the Underfella)
wow, holy shit that's a big picture- I MEAN let's get rOOOOOIIIGHT into the LOOORE
So, Underfell's Toriel... Toriel toriel toriel uhhhh great... So, basically, I'm relying on the canonfell wiki (a wiki that's clearly willing to go back fucking years to give me lore to feed you lot of lore-goblins/creatures/newcomers that don't know canon underfell) Wow, there's not a lot here. So, I guess uhhh lets get to this mini lore post (why the fuck is it always sans and papyrus that get all the lore GODDAMNI-) Starting off, from the oldest post you can find when searching for toriel lore in the AU FAQ. She laughs like Q5U4EX7YY2E9N (queen) deltarune or Sweetheart omori with a good ol OHOHOHOHOHO~(deadass that's the first post i can find). Actual lore post says more stuff, such as; Toriel will NOT break eye-contact unless the other person does it first, so it's just a constant stare forever, also she cooks killer meat dishes, but sucks ass at baking. She also has a rose garden and fumbles so hard that her robe keeps getting torn when she goes in and out to water and maintain them. And, well... sides from that, there's also the fact that Toriel owns a walk in freezer full of freshly sharpened knives and meats used for cooking, although if Frisk were to check everything, then the interactions would change to assuming that the meat is actually, well... bodies, and containers full of meat are "A grave". ...Let's see here, what else do we have...? Ah, right, ALSO there's a new reason as to why she runs away (basing this info off of the wiki I have although it makes plenty of sense since the first information is canon). Toriel goes into hiding in the Ruins AND loses trust in monsters becau- oh, wait, nevermind, I'm legally not allowed to mention that until we reach the very end of Underfell lore drops. Anyways, that's all. Your welcome, lore-goblins/creatures/newcomers that now know a little about underfell toriel.
#random's lore drops#utdr#undertale#toriel#k my job is done in the tags department#made these before the post so no post-post commentary#heh. post-post.

THEORY: Before The Story
This theory was inspired by TheQueen0fNowhere's incredible Noelle theory series! Please check them out before reading this one!
---
The Roaring. It's set up as the penultimate event of Deltarune, a cataclysmic doomsday that will end the worlds.
But not all is as it seems. Those of us deep in the Deltarune theory trenches may even be familiar with the idea that a Roaring may have already happened, wiping the environs of Castle Town off the map.
But what if that wasn't the only apocalypse?
And what if they've both happened before?
---
A RELENTLESS FUTURE
Gaster wants us to create "A NEW FUTURE," implying there was an undesirable "old" future.
Reaper Bird's check text reads "This relentless future finally looks brighter and brighter."
Reaper Bird is a character heavily tied to Deltarune through Everyman, reflections, and arguably the CORE mercenaries, which were recruited by a shadowy shapechanger who we didn't meet in Undertale so could be a Deltarune character.
Through the lens of Mew Mew reviews, Alphys foreshadows Deltarune may be "darker" than Undertale was.
Mew Mew 1 and 2 have been used across Undertale and Deltarune as allegory for Undertale and Deltarune, respectively.
Kris seems to have been possessed before.
"Oh, Kris, er... does this sometimes."
"Looks like [the birdcage has] seen quite a few crashes."
Seam seems resigned to the world being doomed.
"After all, it's not as if whatever happens, will matter in the end."
"You, too, will begin to realize the futility of your actions. Ha ha ha... At that time, feel free to come back here. I'll make you tea. And we can toast...to the end of the world!"
The track playing over the Delta Warriors standing at Worlds' Edge, an event that has not happened yet, is titled "Before the Story."
This melody first appeared in "Premonition," an Undertale track that appears when Sans asks about a talking flower, and in the secret room containing "redacted."
"Premonition" is defined as "an intuition of a future, usually unwelcome, occurence; foreboding"
The track that plays during the Weird Route hospital scene is called "flashback_excerpt," even though it is happening in the present.
In an unused alternate scene, Susie desperately begs Kris to wake up, even though they haven't become friends yet.
Deltarune has very little truly unused content compared to Undertale, and much of it seems plot relevant, such as the dummy text strings
youtube
The southern bunker is internally described as a shelter: "obj_town_shelter_event"
The existence of such an old and overgrown shelter in a peaceful town may imply disaster has occurred before, or at least reason to suspect it was coming
In conclusion, it seems possible that Deltarune has ended badly before, or at least that bad things are expected to come.
The reason I believe it's the former is because there are two types of calamities that may be foreshadowed, and certain characters seem to have very detailed knowledge of this.
--
THE ROARING
Ralsei seems strangely haunted by the Roaring, as if it's happened before
The closet Dark World ("???") contains oozing darkness and Titan-like eye shapes, similar to Ralsei's depiction of a Roaring
The neighboring Castle Town was empty
THE FREEZING
Sans has "only seen it snow as bad as this once," when "you could barely see your bones in front of your face." Noelle after Snowgrave states "There was so much snow, I couldn't see anything..."
Charles the mole and Spamton both mention preparing for "winter," and Charles mentioning "getting stronger," a phrase associated with Weird Route Noelle
Spamton knows what will happen on a Weird Route, and may have already experienced being frozen (in the FreezeRing? Ice Palace?)
Also there's this quote from Flowey?
---
THE ROARING WINTER...?
The Roaring is associated with darkness, and a hypothetical "Winter" with cold/snow. There are a couple of instances describing both.
Gaster approaches us from somwhere "cold" AND "black."
An Echo Flower version of a killed Toriel mentions being somewhere both "cold" AND "dark"
In summary, it's possible that not only either one of these calamities could have already occurred, but perhaps even both.
---
FURTHER SPECULATION
Ralsei seems to be associated with the dark Roaring, and Noelle with the snowy Weird Route. It is notable that both of these characters seem mutually exclusive and symbolically opposed in many ways.
Ralsei looks haunted by the Roaring, as though he's seen it before. Similarly, TheQueen0fNowhere points out that it looks like Noelle may have used Snowgrave before.
If these assumptions turn out correct, then in some way, the world may have already been destroyed by the Roaring and the "Winter," resulting in a "dark, cold" state.
This would explain a lot: why Kris is allowing themself to be repeatedly possessed, for instance, or why Gaster wants us players to make a "new future."
Unfortunately, if my assumption that Ralsei is associated with the Roaring and Noelle with the "Winter" is true, and if the popular and heavily foreshadowed theory that the characters will be mutually exclusive is true, that could mean we can only stop one of these calamities...on each file, at least.
Then again, there is also Susie - representative of neither railroading nor sequence breaking, but a secret third thing... Is she the key to truly saving the future?
