Safdarjung Tomb, Delhi Built in the year 1754, Safdarjung Tomb is the last garden tomb constructed in the late Mughal Empire Style. It is the sandstone and Marble mausoleum of the Mughal statesman Mirza Muqim Abul Mansur Khan who was popularly known as Safdarjung. Recently an ancient #Hanumanmandir and a 600 years old #GuruRavidasTemple were razed by the authorities allegedly sighting them as illegal. This systematic depletion of #DelhiHistory is being done by a nexus of #CentralGovernment officials #DelhiGovernment officials as well as the judiciary sitting at the #CourtsofIndia. However, the removal of illegal structure is done in India on the basis of #VoteBank and political alignment of the people in power. If you go by the facts, the whole of the ghetto around the #NizamuddinDargah is illegal. Bangladeshis found refuge by paying some amount to the local politicians, decades ago and now it would be next to impossible for the system to remove these encroachments. The historical structures have been so encroached to make them look part of the houses/ buildings. In the image you can clearly see the historical structures being engulfed by the encroached structures. Neither the court nor any of the government could ever touch these encroachments. So the narrative that ran during the anti-CAA protests that muslims being in danger is a blatant lie instead they are the strongest community in India. Equality doesn’t exist be it for religion or for anything else. It’s the show of strength that still rules the world. The local maulanas take money for running businesses around the dargah. They decide who gets to stand or sit where in the dargah. Rashtrapati Bhavan was the erstwhile residence of the British Viceroy. Its architect was Edwin Landseer Lutyens. The decision to build a residence in New Delhi for the British Viceroy was taken after it was decided in the Delhi Durbar of 1911 that the capital of India would be shifted from Calcutta to Delhi in the same year. It was constructed to affirm the permanence of British rule in India. This building gave the impression, in the words of a critique, the setting of a perpetual Durbar. The building and its surroundings were supposed to be 'an empire in stone', 'exercising imperial sway' and containing in it, "the abode of a disinterested elite whose rule was imposed from above". That 'empire in stone' and the perpetual Durbar was transformed to be the permanent institution of democracy on 26th January 1950 when Dr. Rajendra Prasad became the first President of India and occupied this building to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of India. Tomb of Firoz shah Tughlaq Hauz khas,New Delhi Firoz Shah Tughlaq was a Turkic Muslim ruler of the Tughlaq dynasty, who reigned over the Sultanate of Delhi from 1351 to 1388. * * Unlike his predecessors ,he worked majorly for development of infrastructure in his kingdom. He built schools, hospitals, river canals, reservoirs, rest houses among other things. A few of his architectural brilliance can be witnessed in the irrigation works and renovation of monuments like the Qutub Minar, Sultan Ghari and Suraj Kund. He is also known for erecting two Ashokan Pillars that he had specially ordered and had them transported from Meerut and Ambala. Similarly, the Sultan is also credited for establishing the Madrasa [Islamic School] and several Monuments on the eastern and southern banks of the Hauz-e-khas or royal Water Tank built by Allaudin Khalji. * * He is also known as the father of irrigation in India. * * Feroz Shah died at the age of ninety due to infirmities caused by three years of illness between 1385 and 1388. * * His tomb is plain with a square chamber of plastered rubble masonry with high but slightly battered walls and a lofty dome. The austere exterior is contrasted with the interior which has finely carved plaster work.
