There's something deeply freeing about realising, feeling, and fully believing that I deserve to be happy. I deserve to not be treated like shit, to surround myself with people who make me happy, to enjoy and be present in every hour of every day. I deserve to not yearn for the weekend but to enjoy going to work, and I deserve to not slave through school for top grades but to pass and be satisfied.

Nothing else is worth it. It's not worth constantly worrying if so-and-so likes me, if I've done enough, or if I am enough. It's not my job to read minds—whether of friends, family, or bosses. It's their job to be transparent. It's not my job to satisfy some idea in my head of what is right and good. My job is to be happy and content. I am not content when I get an A+ or a pat on the shoulder; I am content when I am satisfied. I need to be satisfied with whatever I make and do.

If I didn't fail, I won. And if I failed, I've learned something, and to learn is not to fail.
