New Beginnings

The rapture began,,, somewhat unexpectedly, and the gates of heaven were crashed before any of god's angels could get prepared. It was a total slaughter fest, honestly. But one Angel was picked out from the rest. To be saved, in a sense.

And so, she stood there shaking, the final Angel left to defend the heavens. She knew she stood no chance, and yet, she fought. For hours and hours, she was teased and tortured, tossed between hellish beings, taking hits to the gut, after flogs were taken to her shoulders, and blades were dug into her skin. Piercing a once alabaster complexion with searing streaks of red.

She fought so valiantly in fact, that it survived. It goes about her duties today, just as the days before, except with a new routine. It wouldn't be bearing crosses or singing hymns, as it was worshipping a new god now
