Default Eyes for Humans + Vampires

Well, it doesn't look like I'm getting my original account back any time soon, so I figured I might as well start posting more here! I'm not a fan of the default Maxis eyes, and I've tried other default eye mods but wasn't entirely satisfied - so I made my own to fit exactly what I wanted. I wanted eyes that did two things: 1) looked a bit more detailed than the Maxis, and 2) felt different and identifiable (some of the Maxis blues look exactly the same to me). I took my color inspiration from the original swatch names, rather than just creating an exact copy of the Maxis colors. I also turned down the specular, which is responsible for how "shiny" the eyes look, because I find them way too bright in game (especially in dark settings). I'm pretty happy with how the eyes have turned out. I hope you like them too! NOTES: These are default replacements. They will conflict with any other default replacement eyes you use in your game. The Vampire override comes in two flavours: Glow uses my eye texture, with the default Vampire glow NoGlow uses my eye texture, with the Vampire glow turned off I'm using NoGlow in my game because I like being able to see more detail; you can see how it looks in the screenshot above. DEFAULT EYES

So I’ve been approached by a LOT of new simmers asking about different things, so I thought I’d address some of the questions here so I can give a link to the answers :)

So default eyes are a process.

Step One: Choose an eye default and download the eyes you want. You can find a nice list of them here. Step Two: Download a mod from modthesims.com to make your eyes not flag as cc Step Three:  Run the mod and fix the eye program

Step Four: Put the NEW fixed file in your mods folder

and VOILA! You have default eyes that will not flag as cc!

I was just coming here to ask about the eye download too haha. My hard drive crashed and I lost all my sims mods and am trying to redownload everything to my new computer. So what files are what in the drive? If I wanted default replacements plus the unnatural colors would I just need the DefaultEyes package and all-extras package? Or should I toss everything in there?

Oof, I think it's better to check the original creator's dl pages to make sure, because it was so long ago when I updated them. Seems you need these files for unnaturals and obviously the default one. I just use all of them so I don't really remember details. In the drive I have basically everything, I didn't rename any file, so just check it up with MTS Helianthea's page.

escand (ModTheSims): This set contains 2 eyes. Tiffany Glaze, which has been on MTS for a while, now comes with as contacts. If you still want the defaults, they are still available. The newer eye is Oh My-Eyes-. These ones are my personal favorite, and they look even better as defaults. Both of these eyes are available as recolorable contacts. You can change the color of the sclera, inner and outer iris. The contacts "whites" have been shadowed. Both of them are smaller than your maxis defaults.
