Again, I'm amazed at how things have changed since this picture was taken. I was so happy and excited to see what this new venture would bring. Instead of bringing us closer together, we're not even friends anymore. Just crazy!

I’m amazed at the timing of the cards. I don’t feel strong at all. I have chronic pain that has gotten so bad that I use a cane to get around some places and that pain has worn me down mentally and emotionally. It has affected all areas of my life and yet I’m still here. Going to therapy, going to doctor appointments, going to work. I cry all the time but I am also still laughing. So maybe strong is exactly what I am.

Walkin in a Winter Wonderland

Pairing: Charles Brandon x Fem!Reader

Prompt: A walk during the first snow of the season

Rating: F for Fluff 

A/N: First post of my Winter Wonderland Writing Challenge! Charles spoke to me today, so I hope you all enjoy.

You glanced out the window, smiling widely as you see the first fat snowflakes of the season starting to drift dreamily towards the grass. Pulling your skirts up, you rush towards your husbands office with a smile plastered on your face. You rap your knuckles on the doorframe to get his attention. He looks up at you and immediately smiles.

              “Hello, my darling,” he murmurs, leaning back into his chair.

“Hello husband, per chance have you glanced outside recently?” you ask, sauntering into his office with your hands clasped in behind your back.

              He furrows his brow and turns in his chair towards the window. “Ah, it finally snows.”

“Yes! The first snow of the year is always so beautiful and I was wondering if you’d like to join me for a quick stroll?” you ask, closing the gap between the two of you.

              He sighs and rubs his bearded chin with his strong hand.

You look up at him with big, pleading eyes. “Please, my lord, you’ve been working all morning. Take a break and join your wife for a walk.”

              A smile plays at the corners of his mouth and sighs once more. “A short walk?”

“Yes! I shall have my ladies fetch my furs. Thank you,” you say, pressing up on your toes to kiss him.

              “Anything for you, my lady,” you murmurs, stroking your cheek with his a knuckle. You smile at him and bite your lip as you turn to inform your ladies of your afternoon plans.

5 minutes later you are draped in your fine furs and strolling through your snow dusted gardens arm in arm with Charles. Snow clings to your nose and eyelashes making you giggle and look at your husband who has snowflakes in his beautiful dark curls.

“I have always loved the winter season,” you murmur, pulling your arm from his to spin in the snow.

              Charles chuckles at you, “Why so, my dear?”

You smile and take his hands in yours. “Because I like that it symbolizes rebirth and making things new. It’s always been an encouraging time of the year for me.”

              He smiles at you, love in his blue eyes. “You never cease to surprise me.”

You feel yourself warm under his gaze. “I love you so much, Charles,” you say, softly blinking away the snow that had gathered on your lashes.

              Charles swipes at the snow in your brows. “I love you too, sweet girl, how about we take one last turn and return to house. If you would be so inclined, I would greatly enjoy it if you would join me in the library for our afternoon tea?”

You press up to kiss him, “It would be my absolute pleasure to joy you in the library, come along lets finish this turnabout, I’m eager to have you to myself in the warmth of the library. Perhaps, I shall read you some poetry while we enjoy our tea?” you say, linking your arms with his once more and pulling him onward in your stroll.

              He smiles, “that would be lovely.”

You bite your lip once more and turn your face to the sky as your husband leads you around the garden. The chill nips at your nose and you giggle as you spy the redness that has seeped into your husbands cheeks as well as the tip of his nose and ears. You make a not to kiss them warm again once you are inside.

              Soon you finish your promenade and Charles places his large hand on your back to guide you back into your grand house. He helps your remove your furs and tilts your chin up to press a heated kiss to your cold lips.

              “I shall be in the library, join me presently, my love.”

You nod and curtesy to him, a coy smile on your lips. “Yes, my lord.”

              He grins at you, mischief in your eyes and you direct the kitchen staff to bring the tea in shortly and hurry off to join your husband. Eager to find the reason behind the mischief in his eyes, surely this afternoon was bound to interesting.
