“Katara and Zuko, you two play Aang’s parents.”

“What?!” They both exclaimed at the same time.

“You know about the Fire Nation people the best.”

“Royals!” Zuko corrected. “I don’t anything about-“

“The peasants?” Toph said.

“Commoners.”

“Which are peasants. It’s okay. You can say it. We won’t get offended. Promise.”

“You two are the best options!” Sokka explained. “I’m not playing Katara’s husband! That’s just weird!”

“And illegal.” Toph chimed in again.

“How would we even pull this off?” Katara asked. “I don’t exactly look Fire Nation.”

“No but you’ll be from the colonies so that works out.” Sokka said.

Katara covered her midsection again and looked away. Zuko frowned, noticing her discomfort. Did pretending to be his wife upset her that much?

“We should just skip the meeting and leave town all together.” He said.

“No we can’t! We have to help those kids!”

“Aang-“

“He’s right.” Katara interrupted. “They’re being fed lies Zuko. Besides, you saw how quickly they found Aang.”

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Zuko asked gently.

Katara nodded.

“Then it’s settled!” Sokka pointed an accusing finger at Aang. “But you’re so grounded after this young man!!!”

two weeks of peak season down, thirteen to go! due to some fortuitously timed cancellations i actually did hit my dream of being a week ahead on prep work (well, at least on answer key making) on tuesday of this past week. it didn’t last long lol (partly due to i was being Insane which seems to have calmed down some knock on wood) but i’ve caught up some more and i’m pretty sure i should be able to get back to a week ahead tomorrow morning while catching up on industry.

this past week i worked about 35 hours, which does remain on the high end for me. i have also tutored every day since last sunday which is not my favorite although both my incredibly far friday night student (i’m talking bay ridge… back to queens that is a commute the length of a feature length movie…) & my saturday kid are taking this week off, which is a huge relief lol. meanwhile the content development side gig continues slowly wrapping up, which is the main reason i am still mostly ignoring everything outside of work i can ignore - i’m basically racing the other active developer for claiming the last few available sets, of which there are 6, although i am not racing very fast because i don’t actually have that much time to work on them and i also am trying not to push my brain into the burnout zone… last fall when i was really actively trying to get on more even financial footing i was very ungenerous about giving my brain time off and it led me to feeling very bad inside all the time for a long while! this year i feel like my goal is really just to get through the season without feeling bad. do what i need to do and not freak out about it, which also entails not putting pressure on myself about things i don’t need to do. perhaps next year my goal will be to do that and also stay in touch with my hobbies and bigger picture goals and such lol. but in the meantime i am being very relaxed with myself about if i want to just read people on reddit talking about john mulaney’s ex-wife’s book everybody hates or whatever, although this week i do want to finish the patrick radden keefe book about human smuggling in chinatown i have on ebook hold.

i played mario kart with some friends & acquaintances this week, i didn’t bail on opening free store even though i kinda wanted to. i have not updated my little habit tracker in A While but i worked out 5 times again this week & hit my step goal; i had to take an extra rest day yesterday due to silent migraine keeping me in sitting jail but today’s was a bodyweight routine so hopefully i can go straight into the one i was set to do tomorrow, since i do really like the friday/sunday rest schedule. i am very stressed about two of my kids’ score trajectories lol but the one whose mom made me do a phone call (why) to be like “yes i have seen students in his position improve no i can’t really promise more than that” just kicked ass on a practice test which was a relief. even though i am spending so much time Highlighting and Content Developing and Admin Doing (my least favorite work task that no one makes me do but me is updating their little homework google docs… but like so often i end a session being like well ok i will see if i can find a worksheet to link you on circle graphs….) i still am actively getting a kick out of my cozy fall routine where i can sleep late and do work in bed while drinking coffee until i’m awake enough to work out. my room is still very messy but it’s literally whatever. if this is the week things start feeling crazy it will only be 13 weeks of craziness which is quite survivable! but also i don’t think it will be (although, like, famous last words, so knock wood!).

i have planned... Eight chapters...

I would like to finish at least five before i actually start publishing it because I am the slowest writer in existence and don't wanna leave it seemingly abandoned...

ive given it the longest title in existence it just felt right.. for a hint about the overall plot the story's title is 'I Suddenly Became a Noblewoman in a World I Don't Know!?' im sooooooo tempted to make it longer?? or more silly??? but for now...

im excited though i love what im doing right now!! its so fun..

only luke and artem have been introduced in the first chapter, vyn and marius will follow soon after and then Shenanigans will occur with the typical manhwa isekai angst that is always involved

the only like... overarching thing i have planned is Luke's Suffering so im sorry luke fans he isn't free here either

but!!!! yeah i just wanted to give a little update because im really happy with what im doing... its nice having a long project to come back to when im bored or lacking in inspo when im not doing my usual bullshit!! hooray for writing!!!!

Malleus knows better than to complain after everything he’s done, especially when said complaints concern such mundane yet essential duties. There is plenty of work to be completed with handling the aftermath of his overblot, especially considering the absolute scale of it all — a monstrously massive dome of thorns that slowly, ever so slowly, began to envelop the entire world. Had it not been for a handful of heroes — the Shrouds, for one, but also Malleus’ loved ones: Lilia, Sebek, and Silver, along with the child of man and their direbeast — he would have undoubtedly succeeded.

Damage control is essential in these critical moments after his overblot. Plenty of magic and technology, though Malleus lacks a complete understanding of how the latter works, are being employed to clean up his mess. Malleus himself, though, is busy with meeting after meeting, day after day. Of conferring with the headmage, discussing matters with the Shrouds, and, perhaps most embarrassingly enough, needing to be lectured over and over again by his grandmother, who travelled personally from the valley.

He is still allowed to stay in Diasomnia throughout all this, though that is more because of convenience than anything else. It doesn’t mean much when all the students give him an even wider berth than before, his loneliness taken to a new extreme. Sure, Lilia has changed his mind and will now stay with him, and Malleus is still close to him, Silver, and Sebek, but…

The guilt eats at him nonetheless.

Regardless, there is little they can do on the side of diplomacy, save for giving their testimonies and standing up for him, an action that Malleus deems more merciful than anything else. Malleus is largely alone for most of these days as he wrangles this mess with everyone else, while the others return to their regular schedule of classes and studies as though a world-shattering incident had not just occurred.

So it comes as a surprise to him when he returns especially late one night, entering the dorm in the wee hours of the morning at a time when even Lilia wouldn’t be awake, and sees Sebek fast asleep on the couch.

Malleus can only stare for a while, blinking in utter surprise. Sebek is one who is typically early to bed and early to rise; had he passed out here somehow? It doesn’t occur to him until he gives it some thought that perhaps Sebek had only fallen asleep here because he’d been waiting for him — and it is with that realisation that something clicks, memories of seeing Sebek on this couch night after night whenever he comes back, sitting with the other two, rising to the front of his mind.

“Your neck is going to hurt, sleeping in such a position,” Malleus murmurs, leaning over Sebek and taking in the peaceful expression of his face, the light snore that escapes his parted lips. He doesn’t even think about it before he summons a spell; green sparks fly around them as, in the blink of an eye, they are whisked to Sebek’s room, filled with the snores of his fellow roommates who, thankfully, do not stir at Malleus’ intrusion.

Gently, he lowers Sebek on the bed with the help of his magic. The mattress dips under his weight, and Malleus busies himself with fluffing up the pillows (to prevent any stiff muscles in Sebek’s neck), and straightening out the blanket, snapping it wide open in the air with the flick of his wrist before draping it over the sleeping Sebek. He steps back, surveying his work for a moment, a swell of warmth blooming in his chest.

This is good.

He reaches out with a hand, hesitating before stroking his fingers through those tousled, green locks. “Rest well, Sebek,” Malleus whispers, his voice hushed. Sparks dance around his fingertips, and the sleeping boy’s face smooths out into utter bliss; “May you have the sweetest dreams.”

After all, it is only what Sebek deserves, after everything he has gone through to save Malleus from himself.

so uhhhh, i finally wrote the caulscott 1st kiss scene in my fic :0000 i've been putting it off writing chap 26 for so long cus i was nervous to write it for (2) reasons: 1. i've been planning it for too long 2. writing romance and all the stuff and gestures isnt my strongest suit, i think. but maybe i'm wrong.

like the scene still draft-like and needs edits and all, but it's done!!! yay!!! now i'll go on with the chapter (hopefully, haha).

  The only thing the College of Whispers had over the dorms in the Bard's College was that at least in the College of Whispers, it was quiet.    Aptly living up to its name, the cynosures and their shrouded mysteries kept silence a near priority. Whether this was intentional or not, Wyndrelis didn't know. This applied to the dormitories the vast majority of the time, where some students would sleep in the day and work all night, others the reverse. In a way, Wyndrelis could say he missed it the same way an amputee missed a dead limb, for the silence had its burdens that he would rather bury. The dorms had a level of peace, though, despite the ways he'd spent much of his time there.    The Bard's College, on the other hand, could not hope to say the same.   It did not help that the kitchens were so close to the dorms, where a large hearth crackled and spat and the embers produced such a clear glow if he went to see the source of the noise, nor did it help that the year-round students practiced their instruments long into the night, and it truly did not help that he couldn't hear the breathing of another two elves beside him. This was the largest of his worries, whether he wanted it to be or not.   The late-night noises of inn had never bothered him, in terms of keeping him from sleep. It was something he'd gotten used to over the years. Spending so much of his time on the road meant that the conversations, the laughter, and the playing of a traveling group of bards had become background sounds to him. But the discordance of several different songs played in several different locations cracked against his skull and thundered through his temples. He would adjust, or so he hoped. But for now, he bent his pillow over his ears, stared at the desk, and gave an incoherent grumble.    He made vain attempts to push away the thought of how cold the bed was, how small, how empty.

alright~ a few updates about everything! so this weekend I'll be seeing changkyun in chicago- so I prolly won't be posting until after I'm alive again from that 😂😅 (I am vv excited about it- I just know I'll be vv tired when I return home). Anyways, I have a few fics in the works~ one of them that is a request 🤭 I'm vv excited to work on them! But I think I'm going to change my masterlist a bit when I come back. I'm going to retire a few groups from the main masterlist and I've been debating for the past year about it... But I think I'm going to add a yearly masterlist- So it would go from most recent to the beginning of this year~

I'm also thinking about changing my pfp- I haven't been really into stray kids for uh... years- But I will be sure to make an update about that if I go thru with that too- (It may be ji changmin next 🫣🤭)
