Hi! I’m getting into Thunderbirds fics and was thinking about writing some myself. I saw that you ran a challenge at one point and was wondering if there was any event calendar the fandom is using. Or are there any events at all? I wasn’t sure where to find any.
Hi and welcome to the Thunderfam! :D
There is no strict calendar, but a few events do recur at will.
At the moment we are in the middle of Fanart Appreciation Month, which has occurred in January the previous two years as well. The idea being to reblog lots of artworks to give our artists some recognition.
February has been Fab Five Feb in 2019 and 2020, but was missed last year. I haven't done the call out as to whether the Thunderfam want that one this year yet. It is usually a six week challenge with a focus on the five brothers plus another character which changes each year.
Some time in March/April there might be a Easter gift fic event.
Somewhere between April and August there is sometimes a random challenge event. There was nothing last year, but in previous years there has been Sensory Sunday , Earth & Sky Week and an Olympics challenge.
We also celebrate each of the Tracy boys' birthdays - Gordon 14 Feb, Alan 12 March, Scott 4 July (?), Virgil 15 August (always a big one for me :D ) and John in October. Other cast members also get birthday celebrations at various times of the year.
September and October are usually taken up by external challenges like Sicktember and Whumptober.
We did have a Thunderfam November event - Fluffember - but last year an external event was picked up so Fluffember didn't run, but it did run 2019, 2020 and 2021.
December is left to Tag Team Secret Santa.
There have also been random other events over the past few years and I have no doubt there were others before I joined the fandom in 2018. Due to the sudden rise of Covid in 2020 we started International Rescue & Relief, a fluff prompt challenge which is technically still going, but I haven't mentioned it for ages.
Plus there are always writing prompts or question lists flying around that get picked up by whoever wants to play.
Thunderfam, if I have forgotten anything, please chime in. It is late here and my brain is usually pretty unreliable.
Anyways, welcome, thank you for asking. I hope you have fun in thunderfam :D
Nutty
(so do you have a favourite Tracy brother? :D )

E13 (“LIGHTS OUT”): Day 1, around 10/20/2020
explanations for the dates are under the cut!
Things to keep in mind:
The B/C-plots, for the most part, are not included in the calculation of the times here, because they rarely have the same number of days as the A-plot.
I didn’t take weekends into consideration unless otherwise noted. There is a weekend squad, but we know that the regular detectives also sometimes work weekends (enough so that on more than one occasion, Holt has rewarded them with “weekends off”).
Time-stamps within the episode are used as guidelines, but not always as the rule, unless there is a specific number of days given.
7x01-early 7x06 all have to happen in June so that they can start The Amy Way in July. Please refer to 7x06 for the explanation for the dates on these episodes.
Season 6 Finale: 5/8-5/15/2019
Has to start and end on a Wednesday; two or more weeks must pass until 7x02.
7x01:  6/6/2019
As per Amy's period in Trying, it has to be at the beginning of the month.
Continuity: Since patrol cops spend “6 months on the same beat,” which Holt is still doing in December, assume that when Debbie says it’s his “first week on the job,” she means his current beat.
Continuity: her period technically is supposed to start somewhere between 6/2 and 6/7. Assume when she says it’s “late,” she means by just a few days. After all, for the July calendar to be accurate, it can’t be late by more than a week.
7x02: 6/7-6/10/2019
Day 1 – cold open // Day 2 – they meet Cpt. Kim // Day 3 – Party // Day 4 – last scene
Kim got an “email from two weeks ago” from Wunch. Cold-open is on 6/7, a Friday (because Rosa has the weekend off and, therefore, wouldn’t be there to meet Wunch on Day 2 of the episode). The timestamp on the last scene—Day 4—says that it's a Monday.
7x03: 6/18-6/27/2019
Day 1, 6/18 - cold open
Day 2, 6/19 - visit Pimento’s doctor; Pimento spends the night at Charles’s
Day 3, 6/20 - HR seminar + Pimento in hospital
Day 10: “One Week Later” from Day 3.
Per the cold-open, Amy is ovulating during this episode. Also, Jimmy Jabs are on 6/21.
Continuity: The Masked Singer finale/premiere dates don’t make sense. But the contestant they mentioned didn’t even exist in season 1 of TMS, so it’s excusable.
Continuity: The last scene takes place during “Trying.” Roll with it.
7x04: 6/21/2019
14 days since Rosa last took a vacation—7x02—and a Friday because Amy skips a seminar that was probably wasn’t scheduled for a weekend.
Continuity: Rosa and Jocelyn had apparently been dating “a year” at this point. It was probably shorter than that.
Continuity: This episode most likely takes place before Trying: Jake mentions Amy being more, erm, adventurous now that they’re trying to conceive, and that doesn’t really fit in with the overly-scheduled sex UD-ing that was happening from July 2019 and onwards. Plus, the stress/potential injury that such a competition would bring definitely doesn’t fit in with The Amy Way.
7x05: 6/22-6/23/2019
Debbie steals the cocaine at end of 7x04; assume 7x05 is the day after. The final scene is the day after the rest of the episode.
Continuity: They mention Debbie’s journals from “this year,” and specify that they were written on “August 21.” Assume this means August 2018.
7x06: 6/24/19 - late January 2020
On the calendars in the war room, “Menstruation” lasts about five days and starts around the 4th of every month; “Ovulation” starts around the 15th of every month and lasts about a week. Amy presumably took a pregnancy test at the very end of every month—not only were these scenes always followed by calendar flips, but she would have to take the tests at least two weeks after ovulation but before she got her period.
The calendar invites/The Jake Way happen in June—so Amy still has to be ovulating at the start of the episode—because they start The Amy Way in July.
The Amy Way fails for the last time in December. The pregnancy test she takes before Hitchcock announces that his girlfriend is pregnant was late December (around 12/30). The next test she would take—the last scene in the episode—would be late January (around 1/30).
Assuming it isn’t a false positive (which is unlikely, considering her doctor would have double-checked this before putting her on fertility medication), the earliest she can get pregnant would be mid-February.
7x07: lasts about a week and ends mid-March 2020.
Has to be after 2/14 but before 4/12, based on Holt’s uniform changes in Valloweaster.
It’s very likely that Amy’s just a few weeks pregnant here since she wasn’t suspicious at all until her doctor brought it up; if the hormones messed up her cycle a bit and she got pregnant mid to late-February, she was 3-4 weeks pregnant in this episode and wouldn’t have noticed until taking the test.
Continuity: I’m assuming that the “Ebola Doctor” was Craig Spencer. He contracted the virus in 2014, so “six years ago” makes sense.
7x08: 3/27-3/30/2020.
Since it’s Holt’s first day back, this episode is relatively soon after 7x07, but with a week or two in between to account for paperwork and official promotion procedures.
Day 1: Friday (The bachelor’s party is over the weekend)
Day 2: Saturday (heist)
Judy’s friends were clearly arrested at nighttime, and that + the change of clothing indicates that Jake and the Judy’s had to have come home the next day.
Day 3: Sunday (Jake comes home)
Day 4: Monday (last scene)
Continuity: The screen on the computer that one of Judy’s men hacks into says “Last Login: March 27 2015.″ Since this episode obviously takes place in 2020, just ignore that.
7x09: ~4/10/2020
Earlier than June—Terry’s kids are still in school (Spring Semester). Also probably(?) a Friday, since Terry’s kids have a concert and it’s unlikely they’ll have one in the middle of the week.
The Friday before Easter (7x11) is April 10.
7x10: Mid-May 2020 (cold open), ~6/17/2020, 6/26/2020-6/27/2020
Cold-Open: pregnancy reveal and end of 1st trimester.
Day 2: Jake tells his father that they’re having a sex-reveal party “Next Friday,” indicating two Fridays after this day. Therefore, this conversation happened around June 17, 2020 (The Wednesday that is approximately 18 weeks from mid-February).
Day 3: Friday, Day of the party (June 26)
Day 4: Amy finds out; day after Day 3 (June 27)
Continuity: The entirety of 7x11 takes place before this one.
7x11: 10/31/19, 2/14/20, and 4/12-4/13/2020
7x12: Day 1-Day 3, Mid-8/2020
Day 1: Cold Open
Day 2: find cheddar
Day 3: B- and C-plots end
Shakespeare in the Park is usually held in Prospect Park over the summer. Halfway between 7x10 and 7x13 is the end of August; I made it mid-August so it’s still technically “Summer.”
Continuity: Amy’s only 6 months pregnant in this episode and her baby shower is the weekend after. However, in season 5, Gina also had her baby shower at around 5/6 months, so this isn’t unusual for these characters. Plus, this is Amy we’re talking about—she probably had a registry ready to go within days of finding out about the pregnancy.
7x13: Day 1, late-10/2020.
The elevator expiry is listed as 12/20/2020 and it was inspected “4 months ago.” elevators in New York are inspected every 6 months, which means that the last inspection was 6/20/2020 and it is now (mid to late-)October.
Later in the month (10/20/2020* or later) matches up with Amy getting pregnant in mid-February: her due-date would be mid-November, and it makes sense for her to start maternity leave about 3 weeks beforehand.
Continuity: Amy going on leave so early explains why she didn’t have a maternity bag stashed somewhere in the precinct—we all know that she would have had one had she been working right up to her due date. Also, although Amy’s FOMOW would make her want to stay at the precinct right up until she gave birth, if her doctor recommended her to take rest earlier (which is likely, given how stressful/strenuous her job is…), she would have followed those orders properly.
Thank you to @feeisamarshmallow for talking through this with me!
* baby Mac could definitely be either a Libra or a Scorpio :)

PHANDOM PHIGHT CLUB 2020 INFO MASTERPOST
By popular demand, @dannyphandump and @babypop-phantom return to the one and only Ghost Zone Denny’s to host the annual Phandom Phight Club! Get ready to face your friends, acquaintances, strangers, and enemies in immortal combat an organized shitposting tournament!
So what the heck is the Phandom Phight Club?
The Short Explanation:  It’s basically a Danny Phantom shitposting tournament, involving 64 entrants and 6 total rounds of posts.  Rounds are single elimination, leaving one ultimate Phight Club Champion.
The Backstory:  In fall 2018, @ectopusses and @rayhoosier (x) challenged @lexosaurus to fight behind Denny’s.  Mod Tali started as the betting booth runner on the lexx vs. ectopusses fight (before a lovely anon officially coined the term “phight.”  After these fights, multiple people expressed interest in some kind of Phandom showdown.  @catalystofthesoul provided a good boost to the idea and came up with a lot of the core concepts on how the tournament would work.  Vic and Tali worked together to bring the idea to life.  In the 2019 Phight, @reallydumbdannyphantomaus was victorious with @heyheyitsstillgay in second place and @lexosaurus in third.
The Detailed Explanation:
Please read even if you participated last year, as some information has changed!
For Entrants:
Registration begins SUNDAY DECEMBER 1ST at 1pm (afternoon) EASTERN STANDARD TIME.  Use this calculator  if you need to to find what time that is in your time zone.
Entrants will be sorted randomly into a single-elimination bracket. This bracket will be posted on December 31st for everyone to view.
ONLY 64 PHIGHTERS CAN ENTER. We are not sure how quickly spots will go, but we recommend signing up earlier rather than later.
Each entrant will get an ID badge made by Mod Vic with the answers to some of the questions entered on the signup form.
Please only sign up if you plan to participate in the Phight, not just to get an ID card. We don’t want people taking up slots for people who actually want to compete.
The Phight™ will take place Thursday, January 9th through Friday, January 31st. More details on the schedule will be posted on the comprehensive calendar to be released November 30th.
A new round will take place about every three days, with a couple “dead days” scheduled in the earlier rounds for phighters to prepare their shitposts and our writers to catch up on the round results writeups.
Please be sure you’re able to submit your entry on each entry day. Participants will be disqualified if they do not submit an entry by the deadline.
Competitors will create their posts on their own blogs. This is to ensure that all Phighters get credit for the shitposts they create.  Phighters will paste a link to their post in a google form that will be created for each round.  You may create your posts as far in advance as you would like, but the google form will not open until the day before submissions are due.  (It’s recommended that even if your post is ready beforehand, you wait to post it until the submission date, to keep each round organized and in case you are eliminated beforehand.)
Posts will be reblogged to @phandomphightclub throughout the day submissions are due.
Voters decide the winners of each round. The winners will move onto the next round. The phinal round occurs when only two competitors are left.  The semiphinalist phighters will also compete in the phinal round prompt for third place.
Last year’s winner @reallydumbdannyphantomaus will phight this year’s winner in a bonus round to take place in February.
You can not ask people to vote for you! This may result in disqualification! Try reblogging the voting polls to get people to vote, instead!
Limit of one vote per person.  You do not need a tumblr to vote, but the form will require you to be logged into a google account to prevent duplicate votes.
Prizes for winners will be announced as we find people willing to provide them.  So far @wastefulreverie has offered a fic to the 1st place winner.  There will also be ceritificates for the top 3, plus bragging rights. Who would not want to brag about winning the Phight?
For Voters:
Voters are crucial to the success of this competition. A poll to vote for the winners of each round will be open the whole day after the submissions are due.
Anyone can vote, whether you are a competitor or a spectator (Technically, you can even vote for yourself, but there should be enough voters that this won’t matter much).
Follow @phandomphightclub for the links to the voting polls.
Other Information:
There is no phight the day of voting. @dannyphandump, @lumanae, and a few other chosen writers will create mafia/RP-style summary of how everyone won/lost, based on the results of the polls.  (Read last year’s compiled round writeups here for an idea of what this will look like.)  Writeups will be crossposted to AO3 for easier reading after the Phight, but will originally be posted on @phandomphightclub.
People will be able to place bets on who will win the Phight. Prizes will be awarded to those who correctly bet on the winner.  The betting google form will open when stated on the calendar.
Results will be posted on @phandomphightclub according to the calendar.
PHIGHT CLUB RULES:
The first rule of phight club is you don’t talk about phight club.
All entries must be SFW (No sexual content or excessive gore). People who submit this kind of content may be disqualified at the discretion of the mods.
Submissions are meant to be shitposts, don’t worry too much about artistic or writing quality.  This is meant to be open to anyone who wants to enter, regardless of perceived talent.
No direct personal attacks in your submissions or towards other entrants, please. This phandom is pretty good about that, but just remember to keep it clean, folks. Lighthearted trash talk is allowed; use your best judgement here.
Please do not take losing as a personal attack.
When voting, try to be as unbiased as possible. The submissions will be posted in the poll without the competitor’s name attached in order to help facilitate this.
Competitors are allowed/encouraged to advertise the Phight on their blogs, but please do not ask followers to vote for you specifically.
If you’re confused about anything, don’t hesitate to send an ask to @phandomphightclub!
Don’t eat food off the ground in the Denny’s parking lot. Trust me, please.
Thank you for your interest in the Phight Club! Order an appetizer at the Denny’s, place your bets, and get ready to watch the greatest Phight this side of the ghost portal!

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In continuation of my previous post, here’s the photos on my 2021 landscape and other outdoors calendar from September-December and my 5 reserve photos for this calendar (captioned below in order of appearance in photoset)
September: Kyance Cove, Cornwall, taken in September 2019
Another of my strongest Cornwall photos from last summer I feel, this one was in the tweet with four of my favourite landscape pictures of 2019 in my end of year tweets in December. This for me sums up everything that holiday was about, taken on the day we saw the Brown Booby there a very rare bird (one of the first three ever recorded in the UK in fact) showing that beautiful cliff and beach scenery and that devine shade of blue in the sea with the sun shining. I really liked this photo quality wise and it was always a good bet to make the calendar.
October: Botallack in Cornwall, from September 2019
By contrast this photo taken on our opening day of the Cornwall 2019 holiday in BBC ‘Poldark’ country was rather one of the more unsung photos from that week. It also had perhaps the most interesting journey onto my calendar recently. It was a surprise one that I provisionally qualified earlier on it was at a stage I was pre-qualifying a lot and I sort of did it without too much emotion in the moment or excitement that I’d normally get and did it quite quickly one evening but because I found it to be stronger and stronger than I first thought perhaps. When I was conducting a league thing with just one place on the calendar left and six from 2019 and six from 2020 on by that point by pitting photos against each other and doing a leaderboard I had three strong candidates emerge so in the very final stages of choosing had another think about this one. I initially compared it with the lesser two of those three from the league and displaced this one taking it off the calendar and making it one of my reserve photos for it.
But before I revealed the calendar lineup that day on the first May bank holiday I had another photo, the first one the the reserves now mentioned below which I had pre-qualified early on too and felt didn’t really show enough quality among the other 12 photos I now had in place. So I got it next to the reserve photos and compared it and it just did not look better than this photo which was similar in a way and spectacularly I found myself re-instating this Botallack photo which I felt was stronger and then became a better fit for this calendar as October on it I felt.
An exciting few moments that day, but I am glad this photo is here as its such a memorable one and really showcases what a nice day it was with rain on the way there but the sun subtly poking through and providing an interesting light show over the sea a bit as we opened the trip away and it also showed the nice former mining buildings etc which makes this part of the country look so distinctive I would find.
November: Sunset at Slimbridge WWT from January 2020
This one would just not go away during the aspects of picking that involved comparing photos even though I had many sunset ones on the calendar as I said in the last post. It is a unique and what I feel is a strong sunset picture. A fantastic moment on the eve of my birthday this year and after a brilliant day of birding in this famous and special reserve. Joining my pictures of Bewick’s Swan and Woodpigeon on my 2021 wildlife pictures calendar also at this reserve it highlights just how strong those two days in winter for wildlife and landscape at Slimbridge were for quantity and quality of photos I took on that trip.
December: Whitefield Moor/Holmhill Bog taken December 2019
This photo was taken on my last wildlife/photography trip of 2019 so just a week or so before the Slimbridge one and it was a special day for birds for me as I saw my first Hen Harrier of 2019 to take my year list to the magical 200 for birders figure which my year list ended on. It was also the day that clouds and the sun lowering still quite early in the day made the sky look spectacular throughout the whole walk that Sunday afternoon and it was a real pleasure to witness this scene. One I found a photo I was so proud to take and its one of those I could go years without taking a photo like that again with the way the trees are in shot too. An obvious choice for this calendar too really and to close it.
So my reserves for this calendar in order of appearance in this photoset (the last 5 photos) are; Lymington in July 2019, another one at Pig Bush, New Forest in February 2020, another at Cape Cornwall in September 2019, Warkworth Castle in Northumberland in June 2019 and another at Milkham in the New Forest in March this year.
That brings to an end a very full 12 months of calendar decisions really, it was a challenging one to pick with from June onwards both “shortlists” for my calendars at around 150 photos and more at given times so higher than usual for most of the time with the amount of photos I’m taking and producing per trip going up and up and up. But it was a joy for me to spend hours using different techniques to either pick pictures to go on the calendar or eliminate ones from the race to and was especially such a fun activity in lockdown times when the judging for this always ramps up anyway. Now its time to make the calendars in August/September and have them ready to be my Christmas present once more. All photos that I’ve been taking from early May until now and from here on in in 2020 shall get their chances in my 2022 calendar races with the shortlists for that well under way now. Thanks for all your support for my calendar reveals and photos in general.

Find Out How Many Stock Trading Days In A Year: A Quick Introduction and calculation of number of stock trading days
Find Out How Many Stock Trading Days In A Year: A Quick Introduction and calculation of number of stock trading days
https://theministerofcapitalism.com/blog/find-out-how-many-stock-trading-days-in-a-year-a-quick-introduction-and-calculation-of-number-of-stock-trading-days/
Tumblr media
We’re going to be looking at answering the question, “How many stock trading days in a year?”
And to do this, we’re going to investigate the following areas:
What is a trading day?
Do stocks trade 24 hours a day?
What is the last trading day of the year?
How many trading days are there in a year 2022?
Who sets the trading schedule?
How many trading days in a week?
How many trading weeks in a year?
How many trading days in a month?
Why does the number of trading days vary from year to year?
How many forex trading days in a year?
What is a trading day?
To get started, we should look at and define exactly what a trading day is.
A trading day is a day on which the exchanges are open for business. This depends on where you live, but typically it’s Monday through Friday. American stock markets close at 4PM EST, European stock markets close between 5-6pm CET/ 7-8pm WET (summer)/ 6 or 8pm GMT. The Japanese Stock Market usually opens everyday except Sunday and holidays (for example, January 12th), Asian Stock Market hours depend on their time zone (midnight to midnight).
There are also futures contracts that trade 24 hours every weekday in Chicago to bet against the movements of stocks or indexes like the S&P 500 .
Do stocks trade 24 hours a day?
No, the markets are open for business Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 4 PM EST. You can trade stocks at any point during those hours. The stock market is closed on weekends and federal holidays.
But with that said, you CAN trade the same stocks but on different exchanges. For example, you may be able to trade certain stocks on the HKSE when the NYSE is closed.
What is the last trading day of the year?
There are two different definitions for the last trading day of the year, depending on whether one is using US markets or other markets.
US markets define the last trading day of the year as the Wednesday before Christmas Eve, whereas most other countries define their last trading days as December 31st. This means that December 29th is considered to be both a Thursday and Friday in US markets, but having Thursday as both days has never been observed during a major market close.
How many trading days are there in a year 2022?
The number of trading days in a year 2022 is 252.
To find this, you need to divide the total number of days in a normal calendar year by the number of trading days.
2018- 2019 = 365/250= 1.5 exchange sessions per day (if we take off weekends and holidays).
2020-2021 = 366/251=1.49 exchanges sessions per day (subtracting Saturdays) 2018-2020 = 371 /252=1.55 exchanges sessions per day (subtracting Sundays). 2025-2026=367/253 = 1.48 exchanges sessions per day (subtracting Saturdays and Sundays) 2020 – 2025: 377 /254=1
Who sets the trading schedule?
Well, most people think that a trading schedule is set by someone in the financial sector or at a large institution. In reality, the market determines its own schedule. The price is constantly being decided on and offers are being made continuously through multiple channels. In order for buyers and sellers to come together in agreement, they have to agree on time frame too – this is why we have a set trade weekdays from 9am-4pm ET when it provides enough time for both sides of the transaction to strategize without interruptions in their day-to-day lives.
How many trading days in a week?
There are four trading days in a week.
The U.S. has five “trading” days in a week– even though Monday is the first day of the week, for traders it’s also Saturday, since they are closed on weekends. International stock exchanges usually have four “trading” days in a week– which are Monday through Friday. Some countries may have other arrangements that account for natural market holidays or financial market holidays…. but international stock exchanges always close on Saturdays and Sundays every week, because those two days are not considered part of any country’s weekly business hours at all– which means no trades can be conducted on those two off-days by law!
How many trading weeks in a year?
There are 52 trading weeks in a year.
Every week might not be a COMPLETE week that has the typical 5 trading days available (due to holidays etc which we have seen), but the market will be open at some point every week.
How many trading days in a month?
Answer: The number of trading days in a month depends on the country. In America, there are typically 25 trading days out of the 31 days in the month, while Australia has 20 and Europe has 23.
Why does the number of trading days vary from year to year?
The number of trading days can vary dramatically from year to year.
It all has to do with which trading days are counted as holidays. For example, in 2018 there were 252 regular trading days (up against 253 in 2017), but five more holidays for a total of 257 ; three more than 2017’s 254).
The perfect number would be 252/253- which is the total number of trading days minus any public holiday that falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday (which would otherwise count as 4). However this is not easy if you’re counting Sundays due to different countries observing different religious festivities; or you move between hemispheres – where the calendar changes!
How many forex trading days in a year?
This is the number of days in the average year. There are 365 days in most years, but since there are 366 calendar weeks per year, forex traders get 252 “trading days” on Saturdays and Sundays. The other 250 trading days come from Monday through Friday. Traders work 50-hour weeks with an 8 hour per day forex trading schedule for five weekday mornings (8am – 1pm) and two evening sessions (2pm – 10pm). It’s advisable to take Sunday off completely or to trade fewer hours on that day (I set my time to trade 5 hours on Sunday night, which is an appropriate “banker’s hour”).
