Hcs for dating IDW Tarn, Deathsaurus, and Megatron

Tarn: He would only date you if you were a con. No exceptions.

Not a fan of pda, but if some other bot tries to flirt with you, he'll "take care" of them. He'll then proceed to keep his servos on you for the rest of the night to ensure that it doesn't happen again. A servo on your back, an arm around your waist, a hug from behind, you name it!

Would only use your real name around others, but in private he'd probably call you some scrap like "My pet" or "dolly". (Don't ask why. Also, major ick imo)

He won't treat you very differently from the rest of his crew, but he might be a little more lenient when it comes to you completing any assignments. He expects you to work as hard as anyone else would "for the cause" but you're definitely his favorite

Deathsaurus: He'd prefer to date a decepticon, but he's also not entirely opposed to someone from another faction. You'd have to be pretty special though.

Big pda mech! He firmly believes in expressing his love in whatever way possible, usually meaning he'll be found holding your servo or waist. As we all know, he has a strict "no secrets" policy, meaning he'll introduce you to his troops as soon as he can. lowkey just wants an excuse to show you off

He wouldn't admit it out loud, but he loves pet names! Darling, sweetspark, dear, my love, my spark- he's got a bunch of 'em for you. If you call him any of these back, he'll be grinning to no end.

Obviously, if you want to be with him, you'll have to respect his crew and his troops. He won't tolerate you or anyone else treating them like scrap. If you're kind and supportive of his troops, and get along with them well, he'll fall for you so damn hard and fast. He's a sucker for a responsible, productive, and capable bot that'll pull their weight.

Megatron: He's fine with dating any faction, though there might be some guilt lingering in the back of his mind if you're a con.

Not big on pda, or physical affection in general. His love language is probably acts of service, like helping you out with some of your tasks. He's not big on pet names, but he might call you "dear" sometimes. He doesn't mind any pet names or nicknames you give him though.

He'll give you datapads with his poetry sometimes, and he might even recite it out loud for you as you get closer. He'd be helm over heels for you if you're into poetry and write some for him as well- it'll hang on the wall in his room and he'll have it memorized. Even if you're not into poetry, he still enjoys spending quality time with you. It's nice for him to not feel judged or scrutinized around someone for once.

Deathsaurus was staring again, as always. Whenever his optics landed on you, he had trouble just pulling away. He was,, entranced by you, per se.

Though whenever you turned your optics would catch his for a split nano klik before he would turn away, and act as if he wasn’t just caught staring. It was a game for you two, see who catches the other staring first.

On rare occasions your optics would lock with one another, your [O/C] optics locking with his vibrant ruby ones. Energon would flood to his faceplate, embarrassment flooding his energon lines as he would turn away from your playful stare.

Many of his soldiers took notice of your little ‘stare’ game, and honestly they wouldn’t really be surprised if you two did become a couple or let alone conjunx, they even started placing bets on it. You two are already amica’s, why not upgrade to enduras,,?

Deathsaurus had a keen optic, he was very observant and had good hearing. So of course these little quips and rumors caught his attention, nothing could get past him, not even your feelings.

He considered making it official, maybe he could try at courting you, making a conjunx ritus, just for you. Deathsaurus knew what he felt was true, and maybe it was time for a change, a good change.

So it was no surprise when he suddenly waltzed into your chambers, his servo hidden behind his large build, shielding something from your optics gaze. After a klik of silence he shuddered out a sigh, finally speaking.

“I believe,, it’s time we spoke, about,, us.��

It came out softer and more quieter than he wanted, more shy and awkward. It was a polar contrast to how strict and commanding he is with his soldiers and subjects, he wanted to appear,, more trustworthy, to you.

You stopped what you were doing, setting down the small datapad and turning to face the large commander of the ‘war-world’, your attention was no focused solely on him, curious to what he wanted to say.

Deathsaurus’s pride faltered under your gaze, feeling a bit self-conscious on his appearance now that you were focused on him, on what he was going say.

“I believe we,, are simply more than just amica’s. We behave more like,, conjunx,, endura’s and I believe we,,, should,, should,,-“

He shuddered and grumbled something under his breath, he was never good with words, let alone confessions, he was never the one who did confessions- simply suitors were on it, wait,,, what if he read you wrong,,?

He pulled what was behind his back, extending his servo to you and handing you a small minuscule item. it was an emblem, it was as the size of your servos mechanical palm. The emblem was new, a beautiful brazen gold, like his accents, though it was a mere emblem of the beastformers. The emblem was of his rank, which is rare considering he’s the only one of his rank, unless…

“Are you,,, trying to conjunx me,,?”

It made sense, a lot of sense. Of course he was, why wouldn’t he be,,? He believed it was the right time, the best time to propose to you. You’ve been his closest comrade all these cycles, decades and more, he wanted to spend more time with you, but as more than a simple amica, he wanted to be your conjunx endura.

“Yes, yes I am.”

He stated proudly, taking in a breath as you took the emblem from his servo. He waited patiently for you to click it to your chassis, seeing if you’d accept his proposal or not.

His optics glimmered in surprise as you actually did, he watched, solely focused on your servo as you attached the golden emblem to your chassis. You accepted his proposal, that’s clear as day. Thing is,, what now? He didn’t think he’d,, well- get this far with you.

He gave a nod of approval, pleased you accepted his proposal. Now all that’s left to do is to conjunx ritus, the last step, the deal sealer.

He walked up to you, bending a bit so he could properly reach you. He extended his servos to you, holding your small ones in his large ones, intermingling his digits with yours.

“,,,shall we?”

He was curious, curious if you were ready. Being bonded to a Ex-warlord is a,, hefty job, he knows he’s not perfect, and that sometimes he’s very,, stand offish. But you never snapped at him, so did you truly want him,,? Crave him like he’s craved you for millennia,,?

“We shall.”

Those two words sounded more like a promise, a promise to him. He gave a curt nod and held you close, clicking open his chassis and exposing his spark to you. He patiently waited for you to open yours, always curious to what your spark looked like.

Once you clicked yours open, servos and panels retracting, Did he finally get to see your spark. It was beautiful, a vibrant orb of life, its color matched your (O/C) so of course it belonged to you. It radiated comfort and warmth.

The two of you watched as you held one another, your sparks intertwining beautifully, the sensation was unreal, warm and full of fondness for one another. The colors mixed, and twirled around the other.

After such an intimate moment your chassis’s retracted, locking back into place. You two felt as one, complete. You could feel his unyielding loyalty and love through such a bond, and he could feel your genuine care and affection through yours.

He let out a breath he was holding, now bonded to someone- not just someone, you. His ruby optics glanced down at you, eyeing you with fondness and utmost care.

“Was that,,, alright?”

He asked softly, his voice box still gravelly and rough. He wanted to know if he did it right, wanting to be sure you were one now.

You gave a gentle nod, flashing a smile as you excitedly shook his servos. You two were a couple now! From now on until eternity! You were excited for this shared future, a future with your lover!

“It was,,, amazing! I can’t believe it! We- we’re one now!-“

You couldn’t help but squeal, catching the old warlord off guard. He smiled down at you, glad and overjoyed about how well such an intimate moment went. You were very enthusiastic of it, and he couldn’t help but join in on such an attitude.

Deathsaurus strutted down the corridors of the fortress, broad and proud. You walked by his side, your arm clung to his, the two of you being official now. Loving gazes sent to one another, nearby soldiers gawked at the sight, many surprised and some confused.

A nearby soldier grunted in distaste and dug through his chamber, flicking Shanix over to a fellow soldier, said soldier was full of glee, eagerly stuffing away the Shanix, proud he won such a bet.

I imagine Tarn and Deathsaurus started dating during their collaboration when they started the hunt for Megatron. I like the idea of their teams coming together, so I thought there could be a lot of interesting moments between them, if you know what I mean heh.

Part two of this post. 

Cyclonus

Silent. It’s really uncomfortable for the s/o than anyone else. They make eye contact and stare. Cyclonus is just juggling thoughts in his head. He figures Overlord won’t make a move with his sparkling right there.

S/o eventually gets them to start talking. The chatter sounds oddly subliminal and subversive. The s/o worries they are planning something in code. 

They return home unstressed but a little more wary. Mostly just s/o but Cyclonus worries for the next time they see Overlord.  “Don’t tell me he’s inviting himself to holidays”

Fortress Maximus

Takes it the worse. There’s a high chance that Fort Max just leaves, Break down or tries to kill Overlord. None are a good reaction to seeing your partner’s parent.

S/o has to pull Max far away from Overlord and talk it over. S/o has to apologize to Overlord saying Max was ill. Fort Max asks why they didn’t tell him who their sire was.

After the answer he stays silent for a few days. He tries to continue like it didn’t happen though he was afraid it was some trick for Overlord to get close to him.

Rung

Tarn

He would know beforehand. He knows before getting together with s/o. It’s one of the ways that he could get some control over Overlord.

Calmest over all during the encounter. Most likely talk trash about Overlord afterwards. It depends on how the relationship is at the current time and if he knows that s/o wouldn’t react negativity. 

He goes to every occasion even if Overlord’s there. He’s mostly just highly annoyed that Overlord exists.

It's not often that you and Overlord get time alone together. Like, truly alone. Even when you two get a room to yourselves there's still other people around. Tarn. Deathsaurus. Tarantulas. If one of them isn't making some kind of deal with Overlord then some other Cons are hanging around making sure he's always busy with something.

Most of them don't realize you're there, and the ones that do don't really say anything about it. They know better. The only exceptions being Deathsaurus and Tarantulas. They have actually seen you before, and made sly remarks at Overlord, but other than that no one dares say anything about you to him.

But tonight you don't have to worry about anything distracting either of you. You two are truly alone for the first time in what feels like forever. You two are finally able to just relax without worry of a knock on the door, no having to stifle laughter or keeping the monitor turned down so that no one hears the two of you together.

You lay across Overlord's lap on your stomach as he sits on the bed reading. Your cheek is smooshed against the pillow on his thigh and your hand pressed softly against it as you watch the monitor set up in his room while he gently caresses your back with his thumb.

You gently pap your hand against his leg then rest it against him again and start brushing your thumb against it before letting out a little yawn.

"Sleepy already, love?" He purrs out.

"A little."

He lets out a low chuckle before moving his thumb up to your hair and brushes it against the back of your head, "Rest then. We have a lot of trouble to cause tomorrow." He whispers, leaning down and kissing the top of your head.

"Lay down then." You say, voice low and tired.

He looks down at you puzzled before setting his datapad down and leaning back to lie down. You pick up your pillow and crawl up to his chassis, fluffing the pillow and laying it on his chest. You lie your head on the pillow and curl against him, placing one hand on his chest.

"Ah, I see. Well, I suppose I don't need to get up for anything for the next few hours then." He chuckles again, pulling your blanket off the bed and placing it over you before gently resting a digit over your body. You can hear a mixture of soft humming from both his lips and his chest that lulls you into sleep.

It's nice to finally be alone together.

The Home Stretch

This week marks the beginning of the end. The crew that we’ve come to know and love will careen into into their final story arc. But instead of conjecturing about the mountain of questions that remain unanswered, I want to spend some time honing in on the key pieces on the elaborate chessboard that James Roberts has setup. After all, what is MTMTE/Lost Light other than the sum part of the characters it has woven together?

The question I want to explore is this: who are the key players that will shape this final story arc? If we can guess who, we have an idea of what’s at stake, what to look out for, and, most importantly, how are hearts are going to be broken. 

Like my write up of who was likely to survive the Dying of the Light, I’m going to give the odds of each character playing a big role as I expect (hope).

Naturally, before we proceed, a heavy SPOILERS reminder. If you haven’t already caught up, please don’t proceed past this point. 

The Set Pieces

Rodimus: This is Rodimus’ story. This is his quest. This is his ship. These are his friends. Lost Light has always been about the story of how the unlikeliest of bots banded together on the unlikeliest of journeys and became the unlikeliest of friends. Deep down Rodimus has always known this wasn’t about the quest. He made this concession early in the opening salvo of Dark Cybertron before Getaway or Megatron came aboard. Deep down this is all that matters to Rodimus. At it’s core, this is why Rodimus hates Getaway. Their confrontation will be brutal as Rodimus must come to terms with the damage that Getaway has inflicted. 

Odds: A Sure Bet.

Getaway: There is no Getaway without Rodimus. A bot who has lost his way and committed to his dark path, he must come colliding with the bots that he resented and displaced. We may not be certain of what fate the rest of the Lost Light has succumbed to, but Getaway’s confrontation with Rodimus and crew will be a chilling contrast to what life used to be aboard the Lost Light.

Odds: A Sure Bet.

Ratchet vs Pharma: Apart from the foreshadowing in Lost Light #1, you don’t reveal Cyberutopia as being an eerie science fiction take on euthanasia and palliative care without these two characters clashing again. Ratchet has been a big heart of this book and there’s no better way to raise the stakes than forcing a confrontation with the bot that resents him more than anything else in this universe. If you think back to Ratchet’s story arc at the start of season one, this surely comes full circle.

Odds: A Sure Bet.

Drift: One of the key players from the start, we know there has always been, pardon the pun, more than meets the eye with Drift. Issue #18’s revelations will undoubtedly have an important impact on Drift but there’s still too much about Drift that’s been left vague. On a ship of misfits who were always looking for anything else but the reality of post war life, he’s always had an angle. Now we’re going to get to find out exactly what.

Odds: A Sure Bet.

Rung: He’s been primed for this. If there was ever a moment he was going to shine, this is it. All the pieces are in play. The sparks, the blacksmith, the whole forged vs constructed cold. The Lost Light’s opening arc was a vehicle that set up Rung’s potential and there’s no way JRo is letting this one through to the keeper. Rung prime must star.

Odds: A Sure Bet.

The Grand Architect: the identity of this bot is the biggest mystery. I have a few loose theories but nothing that’s convincing but we’ll leave that for another time. I’m convinced whoever they are revealed to be, it’ll be critical to shaping the final trajectory of the our beloved crew.

Odds: A Sure Bet.

Nautica: The themes of memory, revisionism and identity have been core to MTMTE/Lost Light since the beginning. Skids was a key exponent of this and his death triggered something in Nautica. In trying to save one of her dearest friends, Nautica lost her memories of ever loving him and this is biggest note that can be sounded to tell this story. The consequences have been tragic for us the reader to watch but it does not come full circle until Nautica herself realises the price she has paid. Strap yourselves in. This is going to hurt.

Odds: 95%

Anode: Brought on at the start of Season 3, the obnoxious and brash blacksmith’s skills clearly have a key part to play. How? I’m not sure, but that the Grand Architect was responsible for sending her on the quest in Lost Light #1, means she has a large role in the coming conflict. 

Odds: 95%

The Wildcards

First Aid: If there is one character who owes so much to the Lost Light, it’s First Aid. Rescued from the dreariness that was Delphi, he found his identity and home  onboard the Lost Light. From the companionship of other minibots who he watched movies with to being anointed the Chief Medical Officer, First Aid is mortified by his role in enabling Getaway to assume control of the Lost Light. It’s personal now and I can’t see First Aid not coming back to make things right.

Odds: 90%

Megatron: Will Megatron return in the darkest hour? A la Drift and Ratchet in the Dying of the Light? I believed this with full certainty at first. But I wavered on this after a great debate with my dear friend (@SeanV2) but then my memory went back to some of Megatron’s own words: 

“Sometimes, you look back on your life - on your life’s work and you realise that it’s unsalvageable.  And if you’re brave enough - or desperate enough - you throw it all away and start again. On Luna 2, I threw it all away. And here on this ship, I started again.” 

Megatron never wanted to stay in the Functionist Universe. It was Terminus who entrapped him. For Megatron to complete his arc, he must come back. He may never atone for the atrocities he’s committed but coming back means that he’s desperate enough to salvage his second lease on life and make it count on the ship that gave it to him. 

But what about the mechanics of getting him back, you say? Let’s not forget the liberties that are afforded to a writer when said titular character carries around an inter dimensional wormhole in his gut.

James Roberts has also on the record said that he needed to move Megatron from the board to focus on the core characters. He also said that this was the last we’d seen of the Scavengers. Go figure.

Odds: 85%

Grimlock: The big bad of Autobot fandom has been simmering away in the IDW universe and this is his moment to shine. He’s been there since the beginning and we’ve watched as he’s slowly pulled himself back together with the help of the Scavengers. We’ve seen him take command of a situation already but he’s also carrying the child and I can’t see Grimlock role not having a pivotal role in all this.  

Odds: 80%

Deathsaurus: With Nickel’s role in helping him realise the bigger picture, I can’t see Deathsaurus not coming for her. And in doing so, Deathsaurus brings a disenfranchised arm of the Decepticon cause in this post war environment back to the chessboard. This is important as a core component of the MTMTE lore has been to question the black and white roles of Autobot and Decepticons. Bringing them to the fold in this finale offers an x-factor in the moral quagmire that is MTMTE/Lost Light.

Odds: 60%

The Dark Horses

Overlord: if there is something brewing in the Transformers Universe, the Galactic Council will no doubt have their eyes on this. What better way to bring a loose cannon into the fold than this? There’s an unsolved mystery here as well. The Galactic Council has been lurking in the shadows since the early days of MTMTE and I think it’s high time we got the answer to how they tamed a Phase Sixer that Megatron could barely keep in check.

Odds: 40%.

Roller: Why bring back a character who has contributed so little? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved his appearances in the flashbacks but there’s been nothing potent and imposing about his presence yet. I refuse to believe James brought him back purely as eye candy (and that he is!). That said, I’ve looked hard but I’m unsure how he fits in this end game so all I’m going on is that he had to be brought back for a reason.

Odds: 10%

Fortress Maximus & Red Alert: These two were pretty much there at the beginning. That they went to Necroworld where things have gone awol, will have give them a trail to follow. Realistically they maybe will have a cameo at best but I think I speak for a lot of us when I drool over the prospect of the newest Enforcer of the Tyrest Accord confronting Scorponok. 

Odds: 10% 

So there it is. My hypothesising about who would die in Dying of the Light was pretty good. Will I be as lucky this time? Let’s strap ourselves in for the final ride and see how we go this time.

Likes: SPACE(I love the stars and all the different planets), art(anything from poems to sculpting to painting), archery 🏹, nature walks

Dislikes: the dark(stupid but yknow lol-), bullies and close-minded people, liars, thunderstorms and the cold

I’m known as an approachable and kind person by most. I’m pretty easy going and not one to plan ahead. I try to think positively most of the time and act as a mediator in most conflicts.

If I’m not trying to see both points of views then I’m pretty much set one side. It doesn’t happen much but if I think the persons a jerk then I will attack- lmao-

I try not to be bothered most of the time, often keeping most of my issues to myself. It’s pretty common that I bottle all of my problems until I have HUGE breakdowns. But like whatever.

I’ve had someone describe me as a golden retriever before. And tell me that I have a saviour complex so do what you will with that information.

Yandere Deathsaurus X Reader

You adored space, so when you got the opportunity to go to space on an exploration mission you took it. You were so happy it was a solo mission, as socialization is sometimes difficult. Being able to relax and be yourself without the pressure of having to appeal to someone else’s standards was a dream.

Unfortunately, a huge meteor shower caused your ship to crash land into a habitable planet. Thankfully you’re pretty capable at surviving- you quickly make a shelter, find food, and anything else you’d need to survive. 

What you didn’t account for, however, was a crew of decepticons to be on the planet. When you came across a decepticon, you tried to talk your way out of it. After all of that, the decepticon still took you to his “boss”- Deathsaurus. 

Deathsaurus was at first uninterested in someone who seemed insignificant. Soon enough, he was enthralled by your odd mannerisms.The way you looked around, avoiding eye contact, to the way you gently flapped your hands when nervous.

Of course, because of his mild interest, he decided to make let you join his crew. He trusted his crew not to harm you under his orders, and he even gave you a personal room. Yes, it was an old closet, but it’s the perfect size for a tiny being such as yourself. 

As much as you wanted to, there wasn’t really a good way to contact your exploration company. Anytime you thought of a good way to get a message out or even escape while on another planet, you’d get caught. 

Eventually Deathsaurus’ patience wore thin, and he had no choice but to lock you in your room. It wasn’t until the lights went out that he learned your fear.

You banged on your door, begging to be let out. Your cries were loud and Deathsaurus immediately opened the door and scooped you up. “What’s wrong, are you injured?”

The way you clung to his huge hand was adorable to him. You trembled with fear and cried. “Dark” Was the one word you could mutter. From that day, he made sure you always had back up lights.

Soon enough you got used to the crew, even making quite a few friends. It was your unofficial job to break up fights and settle arguments. Since it was a big crew, it felt like a full time job. 

He always found it amusing how such a tiny being could argue with a being fifty times their size without worry. If there was one thing he admired about you, it was how you always stood up for others.

Since you got along well with the crew, Deathsaurus began to fall for you. You being a human didn’t bother him much- your soul was what mattered to him. He’d often carry you around on his shoulders, and grows angry if anyone misgenders you- even if it doesn’t matter that much to you. Anything about you, he will defend to the ends of the universe. Anything you want, you’ll have- you love space? You’ll see all of it. If he could, he’d catch a star and give it to you. 

Since you’re an artist, you’ll have nothing but the best supplies. It doesn’t matter how much, he has plenty of money to spend on your hobbies. Any art you make will be pinned up for everyone to see- how could he not when you made it? 

Anything  you want-clothes, precious gems, books, a whole planet? It’s all yours. It doesn’t matter if it’s “unobtainable”, he’ll find a way.

Just…don’t try and run. He hates it when you do. He can be very forgiving, but if you push him too far he knows your fears. You don’t want to be locked in your room again, do you? He’d hate to have to turn out the lights again. 

One day, he took you to a lovely planet that had a pretty star system. He had you on his thigh, letting you eat from a basket you’d brought. Deathsaurus dropped a necklace into your lap. You gently picked it up, looking at it. It was the solar system you were currently in, carefully crafted into a necklace. 

“Do you like it? I picked it out just for you, little star.”

He’s been so kind to you so far…how can you say no? After all, you’ve always been a people pleaser.
