It's not that I don't support her because of her sound, I just can't support anyone who ever supported scientology and Danny Masterson. I don't care if she apologized. Apology not accepted. She's just saving her ass now to try to not look like a horrible human being. It's not gonna work with a lot of LP fans. It's sad the fans have to be divided, Chester wouldn't want that. But Chester did want us to move on. However I'm incredibly saddened that out of all people on the planet, that's the singer that Mike chose.

Thania Garcia at Variety:
Linkin Park‘s new co-vocalist will be Emily Armstrong of the band Dead Sara, the band announced Thursday during a live performance event. Colin Brittain, a songwriter and producer for G Flip, Illenium and One OK Rock, will also join the group as a drummer.
The announcement came with a new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” the band’s first new music release in seven years, and the lead track for an upcoming album dubbed “From Zero.” The set will arrive on Nov. 15 (via Warner Records) as the group’s first full-length effort since 2017’s “One More Light,” which came out two months before the death of lead vocalist Chester Bennington.
The group — which is composed of Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix and Joe Hahn along with its two new members — will also embark on a six-date arena tour, hitting Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul and Bogota. See the complete tour routing below.
Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara is the new co-lead for Linkin Park, along with returning Mike Shinoda.

LOLinkin Park
Not everyone was impressed, however. Emily Armstrong’s links to Scientology, and in particular her links to the convicted rapist Danny Masterson.
Cedric Bixler-Zavala’s wife Chrissie Carnell-Bixler was one of Masterson’s victims, with the musician writing after the guilty verdict was handed down: “My wife and the survivors did the unthinkable. Go ahead and send her love. She needs it.”
Hearing the news of Emily Armstrong’s appointment, Cedric Bixler-Zavala left a comment on Dead Sara’s Instagram. “I’m surprised none of you wrote a letter on Danny Masterson’s behalf since your corny ass singer showed up to support him in the prelims. Remember Emily? Remember how your fellow Scientologist goon squad surrounded one of the Jane Doe’s when she was trying to leave the elevators? The court sheriffs had to escort her away from your awful cult.”
“Remember when we did the purification rundown Emily? Were you direct to safe point me cuz of what my wife knew?”
“Why can’t you shut your mouth during the detox program where people are going through some rough shit but your corny ass is singing like an unsupervised child? Is it cuz you’re a born in Scientologist that gets a pass?”
“How do you reconcile the homophobia found in the teachings of RLH’s book dianetics? Do you fans know about your friend Danny Masterson? Your rapist friend.”
The comment seems to have been deleted but is widely available on multiple screenshots.
Linkin Park and Emily Armstrong have yet to respond to the comment.

emily armstrong on 'heroes' (genre is dead, 2021):
When you read all the lyrics, it becomes very apparent what it’s about – growing up and having all these people like your parents, figures, or whoever you consider a hero. Someone who has gotten you through hard times. Then you realize it’s really up to you and that could be a lonely thought. That kind of realization in your life sucks. But at the same time, it could be a good thing to be, like, I’m now more independent.

emily armstrong on 'starry eyed' (blurred culture, 2021):
It wasn’t until I was fully done with the lyrics and we recorded it … I was sitting there writing all the lyrics down, and I was like, oh my god, I just realized what this song is about. The thing is, I kept thinking of the picture of our first album - not the actual sound of the first album - and then I was like, holy shit, I’m writing this song to that person. I’m listening to it over and over again, and being like, it’s okay. Things are not gonna be what you thought they were 10 years from now. Just be who you are, you still have this life to live, and you still have, you know, a lot to show. I was trying not to cry in front of my girlfriend. … I don’t think I was able to really see that when I was writing it. It was probably too much for me, emotionally.
