Day twenty of Fangfest 2024!

I was supposed to be out of town today lmao, so this piece was done ahead of time!

This is the last of the characters made just for this: Marquis Jackson aka Lola Cherry-Cola. Marquis is a night janitor in the courthouse, but blew off steam attending local drag shows and similar events - dreaming of the stage. The Embrace from a Daughter of Cacophony gave the push to create Lola Cherry-Cola.

Fucking around (and finding out)

When I was aged about 16/17, new on the Internet, and had just started exploring geocities and chatrooms I found out about the tabletop role playing game Vampire the Masquerade. As a setting it sounded very interesting and rich (I was also reading Anne Rice at the time) but I didn’t know anyone who would be playing it nearby, and the gaming group at my high school was divided fairly evenly between A&D, Call of Cthulhu and Warhammer 40k.

(I should say that I entirely missed out the News stories from the USA about some folks who let took this game far too seriously and lost track of the part where it’s all a fiction. Looking back it feels a little like when the Satanic Panic got intertwined with dungeons and dragons, by BtM being about Vampires means there’s death and sexuality written in large fonts)

I have been very busy with work things for the last few months, but was invited to a TTRPG discord where they are about to start a game of VtM and I’m getting involved. Its only taken about 25 years but I’m excited to start. Granted, due to time zones I’ll be playing on sessions that begin at around midnight my time but I’m sure that’ll just add to the flavour.
