I know this is a stretch, but has anyone seen my dog? He keeps running away and I haven't gotten the chance to microchip him because of this. If you see him, he answers to Winston, and my address is on his collar (he's the one on the upper left, this is the only picture I have).

Typography Tuesday

These are pages from a facsimile reprint of a very rare wood type specimen catalog, Specimens of Holly Wood Type Borders, Reglets, and Furniture from Hamilton & Katz in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, originally published sometime between 1884 and 1885, and reproduced in Rochester, N. Y., by Typeco Publications in 2023. Hamilton & Katz was a precursor to the Hamilton Manufacturing Company, once the largest manufacturer of wood type in the world. The catalog, previously unrecorded, was donated to the RIT Cary Graphic Arts Collection in 2014. Before this catalog came to light there were only two known and recorded Hamilton & Katz type specimen catalogs held in American archives.

The dates are surmised from the facts that it had to have been published before the company changed its name to Hamilton & Baker in 1885, but after the Hamilton & Katz 1884 catalog. The catalog includes ten type designs cut in Holly wood veneer showing Antiques, French Clarendons, and Gothics typical of the 1880s. The specimens range in size from 4-line to 30-line, and the catalog also displays Combination Dashes, Stars, Indexes, Star Rules, and 13 styles of End-wood Borders in a range of sizes.

Aria Katz

my main OC of late. a plural, aphantasic vessel who pilots the Pygmalion Rán. the system Æria is actually two people, Aria and Eria, who, due to the aforementioned aphantasia, can only distinguish between themselves in Pygmalion headspace. she's young and inexperienced as a vessel, and because of her tendency to get in trouble, she's given missions that cast her in the detective role. as far as the system is concerned, Aria is the quiet and cautious one, while Eria is more energetic, but aggressive. when piloting, Aria serves as the pilot, while Eria is in charge of attacking enemies

Rán

Aria's Pygmalion. she's an affable and carefree individual with aquatic tendencies. her moods are sometimes like the tides and currents, being fair or harsh at different times. when she likes someone or is happy, she could be said to be at low tide, or slow current, but if she becomes angry, it's more like stormy seas, harsh current. however, most of the time, she's the former, and she prefers to not get too angry. also she actually has a design

Kryce's Pygmalion, Damona takes the personification of an older woman. similarly, she takes a "big sister" approach to Kryce, often positioning herself as a wise figure that Kryce can lean on and trust. Kryce has mixed feelings on the matter, to say the least

actually uou know what?? I have something new! So my project, Tales of Aontas, is a duology, right? Nope! Not anymore. I am working on expanding that in a five part series, and while each book will still have multiple Povs, each and every one of them will be focused on one charachter in particular. Katz is getting book one, then I think Souad is having book 2 Then Nayeli, Haakon, and lastly Jiang, for whom btw I have developed a brand new corruption arc!
