What can my gift be?

Anything you want! Fics, art, moodboards, graphics, edits, playlists, etc… The gift can be absolutely anything. Please keep in mind what your giftee likes, as well as what they don’t like when you are creating for them.

Can it be NSFW? Only if your giftee has indicated they’re comfortable with that.

If I’m writing a fic, does it need to be a certain word count?

Nope! This isn’t strict - it’s meant to be fun and something that’s easy to do.

When does my gift need to be completed?

December 31st! You can post on AO3 (if you’re planning on posting there) to the dedicated collection or on tumblr or Instagram—just let us know so we can link things properly. The fics and art posted to the Ao3 collection will be revealed on the 31st. If you are posting on Tumblr or another site, please do so on the 31st and not before.

Can I send my giftee messages? Only if they’re on anon! This is a Secret Santa type of exchange, after all. If you would like, you can send them kind anons on Tumblr (if they use Tumblr). You can also take a ticket in Discord and ask the mods—who can then in turn ask your giftee. Please don’t spoil the surprise for your giftee by messaging them directly!

What is a Pinch Hitter? Someone who steps up and creates something last minute if someone needs to drop out. If you responded that you’re willing to pinch hit that doesn’t mean you’ll have to, we asked as a precaution just in case a pinch hitter is needed!

Can I drop out? Of course - you come first! Please don’t feel bad if you end up needing to drop out! Simply let the mods know as soon as possible so we can assign a pinch hitter.

Do I have to join the server to participate? No! You can sign up as long as you have a tumblr or a bsky account—you don't need to join the server! You can reach out to the mods through those alternatives!

The Darklina Discord Sever has been hosting a Secret San(k)ta even for a while now and this year is no exception! A lot of people threw their hat into the ring this year again, and they all received their assignments recently with a few pointers about their giftee that hopefully inspire them one way or the other.

Works are due on the 31st of December at midnight, so stay tuned to see what amazing things will come to life this year.

Aleksander was desperate enough to do anything by the time that the Sun Summoner was found. He’d known that one was coming, he’d seen the signs. There had been reports of sun angels in Fjerda every day of summer, and the year prior there had been a comet shower that lasted a full week.

But what he had not expected, even in his desperation, was the meteor and the queen made of spun starlight with a crown of sunshine who stepped from the crater it left. A queen with knowing dark eyes and youthful smile as she drew a sun, a galaxy, from between her hands when he’d asked what she was.
