I know that in the last female writers in male dominated genres have often gone by their initials. Heck JK Rowling was told to! Some female writers do use their initials. is this something that is still advised by publishing professionals??

I have never heard of anyone in this century being explicitly TOLD that they MUST to use a pen-name or initials because sexism -- but also, I know people who WANT to use a pen-name or initials for any number of reasons, including perhaps sexism.

(For that matter, though I have heard that anecdote before, I don't actually know for a fact if JK was explicitly TOLD that she MUST use her initials, or if she just decided to / wanted to / felt that she should. But also, that would have been like 30 years ago and not in this century, so... who knows. And regardless, she deffo decided all on her own to use a male pseud for her detective books!)

Obviously if you, the author, feel that your name might alienate some readers or just not look great on the book, you can feel free to use a pen-name or initials or whatever. I can think of reasons that might be the case.

Like let's say you are a dude whose name is Dirkman Hardgun-Darkcastle, maybe your name would not match the vibe of every kind of book. If you write romances, maybe you'd style your name D.H. Castle. If you write fantasy, maybe you become Dirk H. Darkcastle. If you write thrillers, maybe you are Dirk Hardgun.

Or maybe your married/legal name is Gwendolyn Leighandra Bellinetti (maiden name Johnson). You are writing hard-boiled investigative reporting on true murders. Maybe you'd rather go by Gwen Johnson, or G. Leigh Johnson, or G.L. Johnson -- just because those sound / look a little "tougher", and because you don't want every murderer to know your legal name. It's still YOU at the end of the day, you aren't creating an alternate identity or wearing wigs to go outside or anything -- you are just styling your name so it will feel right with your work vibes-wise.

But the point is -- while sometimes the publisher might say "what do you think of the possibility of using initials or picking a pen name", it's generally more for "starting fresh with a new track record" reasons rather than "doing a sexism" reasons.

True Love’s Kiss, Part 2

Chapter 2

With the snap of his fingers they were in his room, a place Belle didn’t even think existed at this point. She believed he just stayed in the tower with his potions since her beast never slept. But here she was, Rumple snapped again, and a fire started, candles were lit and her bodice was starting to unlace itself.

“Rumple stop. After all the waiting I had to do you must use your physical hands from hear on out. No magick.”

His world shrunk and got dark…panic creeped in…How am I suppose to make her happy without magick? As a man I was a coward now I am a monster…or beast as she chooses to say. What does a beast have to offer in the ways of love and affection if not through magick?  

“I see you look confused Rumple, I don’t know much about this either sadly. Other than the whispers I have heard from the maidens at my father’s castle…but I can try and lead us…if you want…”

“Oh no dearie I want you to be the center of attention. I just am confused by you wanting a beast to be the first to bed you.”

“You are not just a beast, you are my Rumple, the person whom I fell in love with. The Beast that I have feared and the man who let me go when his anger could have taken over. Hush now and kiss me, unless you fear happiness still.”

 “I do dearie, I Fear what will happen when I wake from this dream. For that is what it must be a dream.” Belle walked over to her love whose skin glowed in the light of the fire. For the first time she sees the gold flakes that are akin to scales and the green undertones to his complexion. Hm I guess he isn’t dirty he is just earth colored she thought. She held back her chuckle as she kissed him on his lips slowly making sure not to cause him worry or cause his curse to break. It looked like it was safe…in a backwards way.

But before Belle could have another thought Rumple grabbed her into his arms and started kissing her deeply. His tongue exploring every inch of her mouth his hands grasping her dress and hair. At First Belle didn’t know what to do with this kiss but her hands found his hair and she pulled herself closer to him and her hands fumbled with the buttons of his shirt. As he was tearing her dress into shreds. In that moment she felt all of him against all of her. The moment she dreamed about every night as she layed in her bed alone as she listened to his wheel spin. She pleasured herself to the rhythm of his wheel almost every night.

 “Dearie don’t worry about the shirt I will make us new clothes when we are all done. Well maybe me. I think I will just have you hear in my bed naked forever. Rumple let out his impish giggle that she had come to love.” Rumple said pulling Belle back to the present moment. “Well Rumple you will have to get me naked first”.

 Rumple laid Belle down onto his bed lifting her skirts and removing her stockings kissing her bare legs as he went. He allowed her skirt to keep her modesty at first, but he now lifts it higher to expose her glistening sex. Belle smiles like she he saw her smile the first time he showed her the library, pure joy and excitement. Rumpelstiltskin is in awe of her and still waiting to find out this was a cruel trick of fate.  

How special is it that the first cock I see is glittered with gold like it was made for a queens liking thought Belle. He snapped his fingers and Belle was now naked as well. “I said no magick Rumple, but I guess this will do nicely”.  Belle wrapped her legs around him pulling him so close that his cock found its ways in between her wet folds.
