Jack being "from" Florida is like when they put Dany Heatley on "German born" lists. It's weird and doesn't count.

NHL 2020-21 Recap Week 3 – Atlantic Division teams excel, COVID spreading, scrappy Blackhawks
NHL 2020-21 Recap Week 3 – Atlantic Division teams excel, COVID spreading, scrappy Blackhawks
A few weeks into the season, the most interesting thing to me is the top three teams are the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Toronto Maple Leafs. These three teams are normally in the same division. But now, they are each leading their divisions. And they’ve been playing some very quality hockey. The Maple Leafs look like they may finally be putting it all together, and they will be the…

So many of the guys who were around back when I was a fan are retiring and honestly it just proves I am getting old af lol
It's hilarious to me because basically, the 2010 team was my team: I was in the prime of my life (18), I watched the selection live on New Year's Day, I followed everything about that team and was obsessed with them. I kept all the newspapers the day after we won and hung them in my bedroom lmao. I look back at some of the names now and I'm like "OMG, they were on the team?!" only because now it's been so long, and I've sort of forgotten how lethal the player was in their prime. Dany Heatley, Brendan Morrow, and Dan Boyle were the first ones to come to mind because they were older and I was much more in tune with the younger guys. I mean even Eric Staal was on that team!

This playoff season I think it's important to remember Dan Snyder of Elmira, Ontario who played for the Atlanta Thrashers from 1999-2003.
On September 29, 2003 Dany Heatley was driving approximately 80 MPH in a 35 MPH zone with his friend and teammate Dan Snyder in the passenger seat when he lost control and skidded into a brick and iron fence.
The car was split in half, with Snyder ejected and Heatley getting out and collapsing. Snyder entered a coma and needed surgery in order to repair a depressed skull fracture. He never regained consciousness and died 6 days later on October 5, 2003 from septic shock. (x, x)
Heatley pled guilty to second-degree vehicular homicide, driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain a lane change, and speeding. He was given a light sentence of 3 years probation, and was ordered to give 150 speeches about the dangers of speeding and $25,000 to Fulton County; this was partly due to Snyder's parents forgiving him and desiring that he not be sent to prison. Heatley would later request to be traded out of Atlanta in order to put the crash behind him.
Synder's mother entered Heatley's hospital room, where he was recovering from a broken jaw and injured knee, just moments after Dan died and told him he would always be forgiven. At his funeral, Synder's father announced that they did not blame Heatley, and that one life lost was more than enough. (x)
The Atlanta Thrashers dedicated the next season to the two and honored Snyder with a patch with his number 37 on the jerseys and painted on the boards of Phillips Arena. When they played the Detroit Red Wings on December 31, 2003, both teams wore the patch and the jerseys were later auctioned by the NHLPA; which raised $56,029 to go towards the Dan Snyder Memorial Scholarship which was created in his honor.
His parents created the Dan Snyder Memorial Foundation which funded scholarships and helped raise money for a recreation center in Elmira, Ontario which was planned in 2003 to be completed in 2017 but Snyder felt that it needed to be completed sooner. The foundation contributed $750,000 to the project and it opened in 2009. The center is the Woolwich Memorial Centre, with the primary rink dedicated to Dan. On October 18, 2009, the Atlanta Thrashers held a practice session in the arena.
The band The Tragically Hip wrote the song "Heaven Is a Better Place Today" in his honor and the Thrashers created the Dan Snyder Memorial Award to be given each year to the player who "best embodies perseverance, dedication, and hard work without reward or recognition, so that his team and teammates might succeed". After the Thrashers were sold to Winnipeg, the Jets continued to present the award. (x)
In May 2007, Snyder's father told the NY times, "This is the time of year where I probably miss him most. He loved this time of year. I miss him all the time, but the first few playoff games, I found a bit hard to watch" (x)
The second photo was posted on Flickr by a fan with the caption "Taken 2 hours before his fatal crash" (x)

To be the all-time leading German scorer, you only need to beat like Marco Sturm and Christian Ehrhoff or whoever else. You do not need to beat Dany Heatley. I mean Leon can do it all but still!
