Misunderstandings and Miscommunications
Back at it again with some
â¨ď¸ Shenanigans â¨ď¸
Brain rot.
Here goes.
So Danny finally tells his parents the truth (Phantom Planet not happening in this AU) and due to his anxiety and fear takes their disbelief and horror and yelling (not mad or angry but like worried yelling) as rejecting him.
They had rejected Vlad a few weeks ago when he had been caught as Plasmius but they only rejected him because they had found out he had been trying to kill Jack in order to get to Maddie and had been hurting Danny behind their backs while also trying to get him to denounce Jack as his dad, it had nothing to do with him being part ghost.
They do love Danny and are just horrified their invention had killed their baby boy and that they had been trying to hurt him for a last few years because they didn't know he was Phantom (but the clues, oh the clues were staring at them in the face now, how blind they were to it oh.)
Due to Danny's panic he runs off into the Infinite Realms in order to hide with one of his ghost friends but.... he runs into some trouble (Skulker? Walker? idk pick any) and gets tossed in a random portal that had opened up.
And finds himself in the DC verse.
Danny accidentally falls into a huge battle as well and when he spots the heroes trying to protect the city he fell into from some huge evil villain he helps out despite his own emotions (it helps distract him from what he 'thinks' happened between him and his parents)
And once he's done helping he books it cause he need to process everything and doesn't stop when the hero he helped out called out to him, and phases out and turns invisible if the hero tries to stop him to talk. It isn't long until Danny is in a new city and finds some more people to help from villains and evil, and he starts using it to distract himself.
Basically Danny aimlessly wanders around and starts helping anyone to keep his mind off the thought of never being able to go home again.
Meanwhile his parents are PANICKING about not being to find Danny after he runs. They try calling his friends, but the moment they hear the Fenton's say they know about him being Phantom they too jump the gun and think Danny was rejected. They both yell, not letting the Fenton's say anything, and let slip Danny most likely is hiding in the Infinite Realms (aka the Zone) if hes not in Amity.
Tucker and Sam immediately hang up and call Jazz, whose at college, before the Fenton parents could and tell her what happened. And Jazz isn't happy.
Despite being so smart and willing to give their parents so many chances to change their views on Ghosts, she's not a child anymore and isn't going to let them hurt Danny (they don't want to). She starts making her way home to give her parents a piece of her mind.
But by the time she gets there, driving all night, her parents are missing and she finds a video message on the computer from Tucker explaining they had snuck into the house to go into the portal to try to find Danny only to see the Fenton parents suiting up and going into the zone with the Specter Speeder and Boo-o-rang keyed to Danny. "No doubt they're going to hunt Danny down, we're going to try to slow them down and find Danny before they do Jazz! We left an extra Boo-o-rang behind keyed on Danny's signature come help us when you get this message! Take Danny's Specter Bike I made sure the keylock is off!" (Let's pretend Tucker tinkered with the design of the Specter Speeder and made some bike versions, with Danny and funnily enough Johnny 13's help, it was fun bonding thing they all did)
Jazz is even more livid after that. Takes a few things and heads to the portal as well, hopefully to find Danny first before her parents.
By the time Jazz finds the portal that opens to the DC verse she's in Gotham, runs into Red Hood (and helps take down some gang goons but in the process her Boo-o-rang gets busted in the scuffle) and basically they talk. She asks if he's seen any runaway blue eyed black haired young teens around and Jason jokingly says "Nope but we better find him before the Big Bad Bat takes him and turns him into a Robin."
Jazz is very confused.
MEANWHILE
The Fenton parents are of course making a menace of themselves... They're driving around (which is a warning enough if Jack is behind the wheel) trying to find Danny to explain that they do love him and to come back home, and when they do find Danny he freaks out and starts booking it again (right as he actually stopped to talk enough with a hero too). The heroes of the DC verse whose meet Danny and those that heard about some young 'meta' teen whose been helping out and is very powerful, take note how scared and panicked he looked when facing the two and things get worse when they take note how... careless they are going after him (cause we know the Fenton's get a little extreme) and add the fact they look like mad scientists too (they haven't been sleeping well since Danny ran off)
So the DC heroes start assuming the worse for the young teen hero...
It gets even much WORSE when Tucker and Sam, who are hot on the Fenton's heels as well, show up and eventfully tell them what happened (or what they think happened) when they gain their trust.
Basically, a lot of miscommunication happens.
Danny thinks he needs to be on the run from his parents and is helping out in the DC verse to keep his mind off his own breaking heart from the rejection (if you wanna make it serious maybe have his actual core in danger from the rejection or something). And is nearly adopted by every hero who see's this sad ghost kid.
His parents are labeled mad scientists (kinda are) who are hunting Phantom down to end him or experiment on him but they actually DO love him and just want their son come back home. (due to being Fenton's they do kinda accidentally cause a lot of mayhem in their wake)
Tucker and Sam are trying to be amazing friends and stopping the Fenton's from hurting their best friend but much like Danny they are a bit too caught up in their emotions to realize the truth of what happened and may or may not alerted the JL and JLD why Danny is on the run in the first place. (when they had down time to find out where they were they found out about the meta protection laws and is kinda using that to get Danny help)
Jazz is in Gotham, has no way to track Danny down at the moment, is talking with Red Hood (coughAngerManagementcough) about finding her brother and saving him from her parents before they do anything to hurt him. Cue Red Hood (and maybe with the help of the Outlaws) helping Jazz go find her brother.
This can be serious but I mostly see it being silly with nothing but shenanigans and a lot of miscommunication.

        Can we Bridge this Divide Born of Lies?
 Warnings: Alcohol use (just minor thing)  Characters: Vlad Masters, Danny Phantom/Fenton
It was a chilly Friday evening in Winconsin, the perfect temperature for Danny. If he was out flying for any other reason than what he was heâd likely be in a good mood, however even the whisperings of the approaching winter in the air couldnât distract him from the worry of what awaited him.
What he was doing was probably a really bad idea. Disastrously bad. Almost stepping into a questionable portal that wasnât working for reasons unknown bad.Â
He was off to visit Vlad. Of his own free will.
Sam and Tucker had tried to convince him to at least wait so they could come as backup in case things went south, but he had a nagging feeling in the back of his head that this was an issue better dealt with sooner than later.
âHey Fruitloop! You home?âÂ
He didnât bother to knock as he just flew right in through the door, carefully going room to room, wary of setting off any alarms as he looked for the other. Calling out as he went.
âFruuuuuitloop! Iâm not here to fight, I gotta talk to you about something!â
âOkay maybe calling him a name he hates isnât a good idea for a peaceful visit...â
The thought only paused him for a moment before he continued his search calling out for the other. It took him ten minutes of going from room to room to find the elder halfa. Surprised to see him with several empty bottles of something that looked like it may have been alcohol scattered around his feet and several more still full on the table next to him.
The charged Ectoshot on the other hand, wasnât so surprising. âDaniel, what are you doing here.â He looked thoroughly unimpressed. âMore importantly, what do I have to do to make you leave.âÂ
âNow thereâs no need to start shooting Plasmius, and I could be asking you the same thing. That doesnât look healthy.â He knew that Vlad had been acting off the last few months but he wasnât expecting this. âAre you okay?â
The look he got was concerningly lacking the normal fire.
âDaniel just tell me why youâre here. As you can see Iâm clearly busy, and I know you donât really care beyond your âhero complexâ.âÂ
Slowly Danny drifted to the ground, he and Vlad may be enemies but the scene in front of him was just screaming to his obsession. It felt so wrong to see his confident and powerful nemesis looking so empty and run down. He had seen that heâd been less and less into their fights, getting the feeling almost like they were just running through a script at this point. Still, he didnât suspect it was this bad. âThatâs not true.â
The elder scoffed, going to take another swig from the bottle in his hand. âPlease, your hatred of me is pretty clear, and even I can admit, warranted-â
âI never hated you!â The interruption stunned him into silence, a shocked look on his face and bottle still halfway to his mouth.Â
âI never hated you, I hated what you did and how you acted, but I could never bring myself to hate you.â This wasnât why he came here, yet he couldnât seem to stop himself. What felt like a pull from his very core was pulling this confession out of him. It had been a long time coming and at last it seemed the final straw was found. âHow could I? You made everything look easy while I struggled! The only other one like me was so cool and made fights look like you barely winded when I was putting my all into it.â
He took a deep breath, collecting himself from the sudden outburst flopping down in a seat across from the other.Â
âI didnât come here to fight Vlad, and I didnât come here because of some âhero complexâ that I do not have.â A small pause before he added in a voice barely above a whisper. âIâm tired of fighting. Will you just, hear me out? And stop trying to drink yourself into a stupor while I do so?âÂ
It was a few tense moments of silence before he got his reply.
âVery well little badger. You have my undivided attention, and I was never going to get that drunk. Our ghost side makes it so alcohol has a much harder time affecting us, and I always had a high tolerance even before that. This is nothing.â
âGood, tha- wait hold on what? Really?â
âYes Daniel. Our advanced healing also fights it off faster than a normal human, but less then a full ghost who would be unable to get drunk off of human drinks at all. Rather useful at times and assures youâll never have a hangover.â
âOh thatâs going to be so fun to abuse in college if I get that far...â
Vlad cocked an eyebrow. âDidnât you have something you wanted to say?â
âRight! Right, just uhh,â Danny sat up after a moment of hesitation, pulling his backpack heâd been wearing to sit in front of him. âThis may poke at some old wounds⌠but itâs for a good reason, you just have to hold out!â
âThatâs not exactly the most promising start, but fine, go ahead. I'll try to resist shooting you.â
âGee thanks.â But he didnât press the matter, just taking a moment to collect his thoughts, âOkay, well, you said that after your accident Mom and Dad never even tried to visit you right?â
He got a dirty glare at that question. âYes, how could I ever forget Daniel?â
âSorry, but that didnât line up with their side of the story!â He opened his bag and pulled out a folder, rifling through the surprising number of pages in it. âSee, they were going through some old albums a few days ago and found some old pictures from college. I was being held hostage as they reminisced, but noticed as they were talking Dad got sad mentioning how they tried to visit but the nurse turned them away saying for the first while that they couldnât visit, and later that you didnât want visitors.â
âWell your father is an idiot-â
âShut up, Iâm not done.â The teen interrupted. âI questioned that, and Mom confirmed it. So I did some digging with some help andâŚâ
He pulled a memory stick out of the bag and held it out.
âWe found the security footage someone attempted to delete, and it confirms it.â
âYou⌠hacked into the hospital recordsâŚâ
âWell no⌠I didnât⌠but thatâs not important.â Danny again interrupted, ignoring the dirty look. âYou can get mad at me for the invasion of your privacy when Iâm done talking okay? Okay.â He waited for any other comments, and when none came nodded to himself. âOkay, but yeah we checked and thought it was weird. If they were telling the truth that they visited, and you were telling the truth that they seemingly abandoned you, why would some random nurse stop clearly concerned friends from seeing their friend? Then I saw her name.â He pulled a couple pages out of the file and handed them over. Inside on the first sheet was a bunch of information on a woman named Celesta Peneppor, with bright red hair and striking green eyes she almost seemed to be smirking in her photo.
âI swear Iâd seen her somewhere before and turns out I was right. She didnât bother to disguise herself and her name was a freaking anagram!â
The next page was surprisingly professional looking despite been clearly made by the trio of teens, full of information on a ghost by the name of Penelope Spectra. âSheâs a monster who feeds on misery, and mentioned in one fight I had with her that âHalfas have such potent feelingsâ and I didnât question it at the time, but this does make that make more sense.â
The teen folded his hands in his lap as he watched Vlad look though the sheets he was given, waiting for a reply.
âWhy did you come tell me this Daniel.âÂ
The room was silent long enough that Vlad was going to talk again, to tell him to just leave, when Danny beat him to it and spoke back up.Â
âYou looked so happy.â He was quiet, looking down at his folded hands. âIn the pictures. I found out your hate was directed at the wrong person, and I canât blame you for some of how youâve been before since I know that if I was in your place, losing those I cared about in a painful sudden way, I would be a mess too⌠or worseâŚâ
Vlad looked for a moment like he was going to interrupt, but Danny just kept on talking. Looking up from his hands and locking eyes with him. The teen's eyes looking far too mature for someone his age, eyes that knew more than most.
âBetrayal and loss can make even the most morally just person into a monster, but they didnât betray you. They thought you hated them for what happened and thatâs why you apparently had the nurse turn them away, and yet they still kept trying to keep in contact because they cared despite Spectraâs keeping them away. They were, especially Dad, so happy when you came back into contact. But now you know whoâs really at fault, and you can direct your anger at the right person who deserves it.â
His voice had turned almost desperately hopeful at the end, eyes so heavy and tired.
"It's not that simple, little badger."Â
"Why not? Can't you at least try? What do you have to lose? Your pride? I beat that into the dust in our fights all the time!" His core ached in a desperation he hadnât been expecting, the pull from it making him feel like he had to make sure Vlad at least tried. "All you have is things to gain from it. Like your friends back...and..."
He stood up, walking up to Vlad with his head held high and hand held out, as unwavering as the determined look in his eyes.
"A truce? Or hopefully even an alliance?"
It was silent for a few moments as if the elder wasnât going to reply, so he added softly.
"Please. Just try."
He put down the drink, and for a moment Danny thought he was going to shoot at him to make him leave, but instead both his hands came out to grasp his outstretched one.Â
"You're not the only one tired of fighting my dear boy."
                           âIâll try.â
                        ~~~~~~~~~~~
When Danny eventually left after a while of them talking about the best way to go about his âtryingâ to reconnect with his old friends, something the boy seemed to have put considerable thought into and was dead serious about supporting, Vlad slumped. Running his hand through his hair.
That had not been what he was expecting when he felt the other's signature entering his mansion. Heâd thought the younger Halfa had been coming to blame him for something that was going wrong back in Amity Park. Not...whatever that was.
âI hope you're not expecting anything immediate. My own long held grudges aside, they donât think anything was wrong. Your bumbling idio-â A glare from Danny had him stop to correct himself. âJack, may not notice if I try to act more civil around him, but Maddie certainly would notice and likely get suspicious.â Â
The teen chuckled. âI mean she definitely noticed that you were acting like a creep-tastic fruitloop before, so that would be a big change.â
âPrecisely, and Iâd rather avoid being accused of being overshadowed. Their weapons do hurt after all.â
âYeah you donât have to remind meâŚâ Of course he didnât. Danny was shot at far more often than he was, more often then he really wanted to consider. âBut thereâs a simple solution.â
âDo tell.â
The teen took a seat, not even bothering to go back to sit in the seat, just letting himself float up cross-legged.
âHave you ever seen any cheesy reality shows?â
âOf course not.â Vlad Scoffed, looking downright insulted.Â
âGuess even you arenât that evil⌠but yeah so Jazz likes to watch it to analyze the characters and even to me itâs really obvious what the problem is.â Something was off, and he had a feeling there was more to it than that. âJust, tell them. Tell them the truth.â
Danny very quickly got a look that told him what the other thought of that idea, namely how stupid he thought it was.
âI thought the goal was to not get shot.â
âI donât mean the whole half-ghost thing! I mean the âI thought you abandoned me so was a bit of a dickâ. Just apologize for being off around them and admit you want to try again if they do still want to be friends. Theyâll freak out thinking you hated them, act confused, and all is good!â
He leaned back doing a little flip in the air with a quiet âTada!â.
It was an admittedly decent idea all things considered once it was talked out and it was worded better...mostly considering who it was from, but it would be hard to push aside his pride enough to try.
However after the teen had left, Vlad noticed something odd.
For years he was bothered by the little nagging feeling, a feeling that he instinctively knew once his core had developed was from his obsession begging to be indulged. He had learnt that as a Halfa he wasnât as strongly driven by his obsession as full ghosts, and even less than Daniel heâd later noticed. He could ignore it, but it was like an itch you can't scratch that only got worse the longer he ignored it.
It was when it reached a simply maddening level that he decided to try and go after his revenge at last. The beginnings of planning finally, finally, seemed to scratch the itch. He was working towards his obsession and that alone was enough to help lessen the pull, but it was also like a drug. He wanted more, and so worked harder and became more focused. He knew thatâŚ
It took him awhile to realize though.Â
A while of causing harm and driving away the only other of his kind in an obsession driven case of tunnel vision he only broke free of when it stopped helping his obsession. Stopped feeding that drive and just leaving him tired, and alone.
Alone. Alone.
It hurt, and the need to feed his obsession eventually snapped him out of his craze and made him realize he was alone and that he was in no way making progress to the family he so wanted to love.
He was tired.
Still he continued in his ways, trapped in a routine that no longer helped him and just put him further and further from any chance to be happy. Only getting the smallest spark of joy from his fights with Danny though the bantering, and even that was utterly eviscerated once it was over, only to be replaced with a pain from acting against his obsession.Â
This was different though, for the first time in ages it faded almost completely. Just from talking with the other halfa peacefully he felt amazing, even more so than when he first started working to take Maddie as his own.Â
Daniel actually cared. He didnât hate him and wanted to be allies.
All he had to do was let go of the hate heâd been harboring for years⌠hate that was apparently misplaced. It would just take him putting aside his pride for a little to do so, but ghosts were naturally prideful things and that was a ghostly trait he had picked up, be it from his contamination or just his rise to power. It was a strong part of him and he was loathe to go through with the blow this would land on it.
However his core screamed to follow through with this chance for fulfillment at last.Â
He had two weeks to decide if he would go through with Dannyâs plan.
Two very long weeks to argue with himself he wasnât looking forward to.
Only time would tell.
Not so simple
Summary: When Danny had his accident in the lab, him and his friends thought it would just be ghostly problems that follow. However, yet another incident in gym class reveals that his more human side was just as affected.
Word Count: 1,294
Fandom: Danny Phantom
Inspired by: @phantomsstars
It happened out of nowhere, everyone was baffled. No one expected a âsmallâ electrical incident to cause such affects. The event occurred a few weeks after the incident, after what happened to Danny, team Phantom brushed it off as a minor electrocution that didnât need medical attention so his parents wouldnât dig too much. Maddie had done a quick once over on her son before deeming him healthy as can be. His temperature gave her a bit to worry, but nothing else seemed off.
As the teen struggled take hold of his newfound powers, it became clearer by the day that balancing the powers and ghosts with school was not going to be easy. He didnât realize how much harder it was going to be then he thought. In the weeks following the incident, Danny found new odd things that he just chalked up to being tired or the new ghost side of him. However, it only seem to affect him as a human.
It wasnât something anyone thought would be a worry, he would suddenly get lightheaded or dizzy. A few times heâd have sudden pains in his chest, paired with an odd almost fluttering feeling in his chest that seemed consistent. Once again, all the teens shrugged it off. They didnât think it would be an issue, after all they all were too focus on keeping Dannyâs uncontrollable powers under wraps and figuring out how to deal with the ghosts finding their way through the Fenton Portal.
It wasnât until the day Danny finally showed up to gym class again, it also happened to be the day that they were okaying dodge ball. Winning team got an âAâ, of course Danny know he had to win to help bring his grade back up after so many misses. Sam, Tucker, and him had a game plan. As much as they cared about the other nerds and outcast on their side, they knew the others would appreciating win much more then all of them losing.
So they used to their advantage, using the others to distract or take hits while they worked on taking down everyone else. For once, Danny was having a decent time. In the weeks heâs been too stressed and worried to just sit back and relax. Now he was, even if he was working to not get hit it was still much more calming then his life at the moment. Team Phantom was able to bring the other side down to four jocks with six still on their side, before things crumbled.
Danny had made a mad dash to slip behind one of the others who were about to get hit when heâs body suddenly felt weak, almost giving out on him. He paused, pressing a hand against his chest. The pains were back, his breathe become shallow even as he worked to try and bring more oxygen into his system. He vaguely heard Sam call out his name, but he couldnât focus. His mind felt off, the room shifting in and out of focus.
âSomeâŚthingsâŚwrongâŚâ
Danny managed to gasp out, he felt hands on him moving him to sit. He could hear the mumbles of people around him talking, but it was so hard to focus when heâs body felt like it was shutting down and heâs fear of death rising. The pain was just increasing, the fluttering in his chest becoming more apparent as the seconds ticked by. It felt like he was sitting there forever, but he knew he had only just been seated.
He was able to turn his focus on someone in front of him, Tucker. Eyesâ training on his friendâs worried face, he opened his mouth to speak. He wanted to alert them that this was similar to what has been happening but worse. He couldnât get a word out before the edges of his vision began to fade faster, he recognize his friend rushing forward before he felt himself slipping and the world around him went dark.
The next moment he awoke, he heard an odd beeping sound. His eyes cracked open to be meet with a too bright room. Hospital. His brows furrowed, the device that was beeping was the heart monitor but it sound no where near like it did in movies and shows. His eyes were with a relieved mother and father, Danny could still register the worry and sadness lingering underneath. Next he saw was Tucker, right by his side as well. He was soon informed Samâs parents wouldnât let her come to the hospital.
âIâll get the doctor.â
Maddie was the second to speak after a silence, leaving the room with Jack. Danny turned his focus to Tucker who went on to explained what happened after he fainted in gym. Apparently the whole class was freaking out, as well as the coach first thought it was an anxiety attack until Sam informed her about the past weeks following the electrocution. She had called an ambulance and the nurse. The nurse arrive not long after Danny fainted.
Danny nodded, choosing to keep his voice in until he knew what all of this was about. Tucker didnât prob, just informing as they waited for his parents to come back. It was when Tucker was giving details on what happened after he was wheeled out on a gurney that the doctor finally arrive. Danny stayed polite, nodding with a smile as the doctor greeted him. Doctor Peterson.
â⌠Tachycardia⌠It appears the electrical shock affected the sinus node⌠we canât cure it, but there is medication⌠Start on AmiodaroneâŚâ
Danny felt odd, he wasnât scared, or really worried, just⌠surprised. He thought his only problem was going to be ghosts, but this dragged another new thing into his life. Pills. He wasnât sure how much he liked the idea of that, but the worried and fearful look in his parents eyes were enough to have him know he was going to do everything he could to help make this as little an obstacle in his life.
He didnât focus too much on what the doctor was saying, his mind racing and thinking over the information that he did pick up, the ones that seemed more important. This wasnât ideal, but being half dead wasnât ideal either but heâs making that work. So why not this? Itâs not the worse thing that could happen, and heâs not particular hateful that it happened to him. Heâs accepted it, heâll get through it. Long term or not.
âDoes that sound good?â
Danny nodded, giving the doctor a reassuring smile before turning his gaze to his parents. Every time in the room, his mom would hold his hand. Giving it reassuring squeezes every time she heard something that worried her. His dad kept his arm resting on Maddieâs shoulders, rubbing it occasional to remind her heâs here. Both pairs of eyes turned to focus on him, it wasnât hard to miss the worry in them, this time trained more so on how he was handling the news. Even though his life went from being simple, to not so simple in just a few weeks doesnât mean he couldnât adapt.
âWe got this.â
Danny smiled a genuine smile as his family and friend relaxed ever so slightly. He wasnât about to let yet another side effect of the incident turn his life upside down once more. After becoming practically half dead, he was sure this wonât be to much of a hump for the Fentons and team Phantom.
Winchesters meet the Phantoms Ch. 16
WARNING TORTURE
Danny sighed, eyeing the empty spot on his rug. He was so use to waking up with Juliet laying in the same spot for the past months and now Summer is here and Juliet had to go back to Hell. He wasn't surprised considering she was Crowley's puppy, but that doesn't mean he doesn't miss her. His phone vibrating noisily against his desk distracted him. He remembered how ever since the incident that amplified his power, he couldn't stand phones when they ring. It just grates on his nerves.
"Hey Sam, something up?" Danny greeted after reading the contact name Moose. He didn't miss the sigh of relief from the other side of the phone.
"Hey Danny, just checking in." Sam greeted, a shuffling of paper rustled through before the older hunter continued. "How's things? Still with Juliet?"
"Things are alright, Juliet got picked up two days ago. Sorry forgot to update you." Danny heard the soft curse leave the Winchester's lips. "What's wrong?"
"Look Danny, Dean and I... We've caught word about a group of hunters looking for you. Not by name, but we think they might try summoning you." Sam's words shocked Danny, he felt a prickling sensation spread through him from head to toes. "We don't know for sure okay? We're looking more into it, I just wanted to make sure you were okay and to warn you."
"Is this about the whole supposed king of hell?!" Danny growled, annoyed to now have to keep an eye out for another group of hunters.
'"It seems they also want information about how to kill your ghosts." Sam sighed into the phone. "Just make sure to be on alert, and stay wary of people with British accents... Look Bobby is calling me, I'll get back to you as soon as I can."
Danny growled tossing his phone onto his bed, and resting against the floor. He was getting so tired of this, he just wanted a nice summer break without worrying of anything going to kill him. But apparently that's to much to ask.
Three weeks passed. After the first week, Sam's parents took her to an Italy trip. By two weeks, Tucker's parents forced him into a road trip.
Danny wasn't sure if he should be glad that they won't be in danger or sad that he's alone for a while in summer. Regardless he's days ran the same. Spending most of his time fighting ghost, looking at scholarships, fighting ghosts, working on college applications, fighting ghosts, work at the nasty burger, fighting ghost, sleep, oh and did he mention fighting ghost?
It seemed like the ghosts realized that Danny was on summer break and took advantage of his free time. It didn't help that he was constantly on alert for any British accents or for the feelings of a summoning. So, lets just say he hasn't been having the best of summer.
He also should have realized that the moment he relaxed was going to be the moment that they struck. He wouldn't be surprised if all his enemies had cameras watching him for those exact moments.
It was after a long day of ghost hunting, he had to go as far as cancel his shift with how often that they were coming it. That's the last thing he remembered before waking up tied to a chair by blood blossom soaked ropes. Let's not mention the constant reminder of what had happened last time he found himself in a situation like this. Question was, how was he going to get out this time?
You know what also isn't fair? When villains are hot.
"Ah, our guest awakens." The fairly tall man spoke, a British accent laced his words. Danny watched the blue eyed, black haired man before him, annoyance racing through his veins. Just cause the man was hot doesn't mean he wasn't an asshole. "Oh, where are my manners? Arthur Ketch. British Men of Letters."
"You're the hunters I've been on the look out for." Danny stated, eyes narrowing as the man took a seat across from Danny.
"I assume the Winchesters told you that tidbit?" Ketch mused, before leaning forward. "Corporate and tell us what we need to know and I won't have to touch the toy box." Danny's eyes trailed to the black chest Ketch motioned to, a distinct smell of blood coming from it.
"Look you might be hot, but you kidnapped me so I think I'll pass." Danny joked, trying to hide the bubbling anxiety inside him. "I'm sure you'll find someone else into that kinky shit." Ketch watched him blankly before standing and walking to the chest.
"Very well, let's begin." Ketch turned, a pure iron blade in hand. Danny swallowed as Ketch got closer, he sure as hell hoped the Calvary got here soon.
'Cas... Gabriel... Lucifer, you're an angel to right? You respond to prayers? I don't care, just someone-fuck- help me-"
"Sam." Sam greeted into the phone that morning. It wasn't a number he knew but they had his number which meant they knew him.
"Sam, it's Tucker." The sound of the panicky and worried teen's voice that filtered through the phone had Sam wave his brother over and placing the device on speaker. "It's Danny..."
"Tucker, what happened to Danny" Dean asked, taking a seat next to his brother. "Is he okay?" Sam shared a look with his brother, dread already building up inside.
"I-I don't. I left for a road trip a week ago, everyday Danny calls me without fail." Tucker's voice shook slightly, but settled the more he spoke. "He'll even call me during a ghost fight! Before we left he told us about the new hunters he's on the radar of and he hasn't called me. It's been three hours." Sam and Dean shared another, both having an idea of just where Danny could be.
"Okay Tucker, listen." Sam cleared his throat, leaning closer to the phone. "We already know who the hunters are, I can promise you we'll get Danny home safe and sound. In the meantime, try into enjoy your trip." At the look Dean gave him, Sam shrugged.
"I'll try, just... Just keep me updated, text me whenever progress gets made or I'm driving over there." Tucker threatened.
"We will." Dean sighed out once the call ended, turning to his brother. "What the hell do we do? We have no clue where the British men of letters are located. We have no lead!"
"We'll figure something out Dean, we always do." Sam paused, thinking over the next thing they could possibly do before the sound of fluttering pulled his mind away. "Cas!"
"Cas, Danny he's-"
"I know." Castiel cut Dean off taking a few steps closer. "He prayed to me... Along to Gabriel and Lucifer."
"Why the hell would he pray to them! He hasn't meet them!" Dean asked, sharing a shocked and worried look with his brother.
"Apparently he did." Cas responded before he moved back on topic. "Because of his wards I wasn't able to locate him, however he didn't give me a name. Arthur Ketch."
"Shit." Dean and Sam said at the same time. "Did you say anything else?" Sam asked, moving to his laptop hoping to find any more information they could find on this Ketch character aside from he's the BMOL go-to torturer man.
"He did give a description of the room."
"I'll ask again, how did you become what you are." Ketch's words came out slowly, each words clear. The bottle of blood blossom extract in one hand and an iron blade in the other. Danny's breaths came out ragged. The burns from the restrains added to the burning pain from his open cuts and the sharp stabs of pain from the blood blossom extract in the wounds. He knew the amount was getting close enough to cause him nonstop pain, even in human form.
"Like... I... Said..." Danny breathed, raising his head to meet Ketch's eyes. "Go...Fuck... Your... Self..." Danny took the time Ketch took to walk over to the chest no doubt to get a new toy to catch his breath. He bit his already bleeding lip when pain flared through out his wounds again. The cuts were bad enough, the beating was bad enough, but the blood blossom was making things harder to bear. It did't help that unless it was washed out, he'll keep feeling this excruciating waves of pain.
"Wrong answer Daniel." Ketch said before a brass iron knuckle connected with Danny's face, pulling a groan from the teen as a painful red rash grew in the area the knuckled made contact. "How did you become the ghost king."
"I'm... Not... Saying... a... Word..." Danny breathed. He felt like he was suffocating. His throat felt like it was closing up and with every passing blow, it started feeling harder to breathe.
"A source told us you have a special weakness to fire and... electricity." Danny's head shot up so fast it made the room spin for a moment, his eyes focused on Ketch who know held jumper cables. Electricity was worse than fire, they were nowhere close. It wasn't just the pain, it wasn't just the frying of his ghost half. It was also the reminder, the echo of the day his life changed. It was a weakness to his core. It could render him powerless for hours...
"Know we're getting somewhere." Ketch smirked, noticing the fear that painted the teen's face. Now Danny really wished the Calvary would break the door down now...
...
...
...
A scream ripped it's way out of Danny's throat the moment the jumper cables attached to his forearms. The electricity sending ripples through his ectoplasm, shocking his ghost core, pulling the transformation rings forward only for them to sizzle away.
During all this, all Ketch did was watch with a curious look...
