📽️ Shallow Hal (2001)

This movie is somewhat polarizing. I’ve seen some reviews that think it is guilty of the exact thing it preaches against and some that applaud it for championing inner beauty. I tend to lean toward the second group. I can understand how some people may see it as making fun of overweight people, and I also acknowledge that they could have gone about it a better way, but at the end of the day the point of the movie is that inner beauty is more important than looks. I feel that they accomplished portraying that point.

Sex/nudity: 3/10 (sexual comments and references, implied sex, one scene with mild nudity)

Language: 4/10 (one f-word, some sh*t, lots of slang for sex and genitalia)

Violence: 0/10

Overall rating: 7/10
