Timelapse of my last queued post! aka of the funny chill big brother dragon dude who is totally neat af to me

took me 3 hours just to draw this one piece ;;; no wonder i feel like i don't have enough time to draw on the weekdays bc i really dont

regardless!!! while i struggled with this piece i do like how it turned out!! would've liked to try drawing a more full-body version but alas i couldn't quite manage that OTL. some day ill manage to accomplish it!! just not yet!!!

Daniel Dystria dragon form design re: my personal interpretation of him (Also god ive been spelling his last name so wrong all this time i feel so embarrassed fgjghjghj)

I like to think that his time with the sea witch/underwater influenced his dragon form to look more aquatic looking (and also imo he SHOULD look like a water dragon considering how closely associated his character is tied with water motifs)

Headcanons for this interpretation:

-“dolphin” motif to fit w/ water-y theme

-The antler horns on his head are actually coral that he’s basically grafted to his head to resemble horns. Despite the fact they’re made of coral, the dragon magic in his veins has basically hardened the coral into actually being as strong as real horns. Meanwhile, the horn on his forehead is a real horn.

-he lacks wings and relies heavily on swimming through bodies of water with his dolphin-like tail to move around. his eyes have a protective film over them that hides his pupils as a way to protect his eyes from water and stuff. 

-While he’s a nomad constantly on the run from imperial authorities, he tends to hop from ship to ship promising safe passage through the various oceans in exchange for total secrecy about himself and a spot to sleep onboard. 

-Due to his benevolent nature and tendency to help those at sea (whether it be by guiding them to safety or saving those who may have otherwise drowned), he’s worshiped by seafarers and easily welcomed on any ship not directly under imperial control

-He's as strong as Paris is and will happily join Paris's and Fian's playfighting sessions as dragons for funsies post him getting acquainted with them more (so, past chapter 80).
