Thanks to Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix (2005) we know (spoiler alert for ddr mario mix) that bowser used to be tone deaf but now thanks to the power of the musical keys has been cured.

All this to say: in the mario movie it is fully plausible and canon compliant for jack black bowser to have a big musical number.

I for one hope for a big band jazz kinda deal with heavy rock influences, and the thought alone makes up for crispecto prattronus as mario
