Chihuly in the Far East

Working with colours from the Foveon sensor in post has been mostly enjoyable for me because of the virtual absence of colour bleeding even when raising saturation quite a bit.

Dale Chihuly (American, b. 1941) apprx. 9" x 11 ½" x 13 ¼" “Amethyst Persian", 2005. Two-piece blown glass sculpture in vibrant purples and greens, base with bright green-yellow lip wrap, etched signature "Chihuly" on the outside and "PP05" on base of ball foot.

Chihuly returns to the Sonoran Desert with “Chihuly in the Desert”, a new exhibition set against majestic saguaros, landmark buildings, and striking Papago buttes. Presented at Desert Botanical Garden and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West, the joint exhibition combines art, architecture to create an unparalleled experience.

Three of my favorite things: Dale Chihuly's glass art installations, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West, and Phoenix's Desert Botanical Garden. It doesn't get much better than that.
