So, I was reading about the Streets Oracle mystery for Pathfinder (shoutout to @dailycharacteroption), and I had this idea.
What happens when playground rumor and organized religion converge?
In a certain city, there was a group of children. Orphans and outcasts, they lived on the streets, with no one to watch over them. No one but each other. The older kids did what they could to take care of the younger, and when they found new children that had been abandoned they took them in. They were a family, not a cult. It all changed with an innocent question, "Where did you get that?" Of course, the older children did what they must. Whether it was food, medicine, or clothing, if their family needed it, they would steal if they had to...but they didn't want the little ones to know that. So when a girl told her little siblings that "Mother Magpie" had given her coin and food, the others were quick to play along. Going out to steal became "asking Mother Magpie for gifts." When the time came to teach some of the young ones to steal, they were told that they must always give all the credit to Mother Magpie, and no one else, or She would stop providing them with things to take. One boy even had the idea to teach the young children to pray aloud to Mother Magpie for what they wanted, so that the older members of the group would know things to be looking for. Another in the group started making charm necklaces for everyone when one of the little ones pointed out that real gods had holy symbols. Of course, it was just a way to keep the little ones quiet. A fun game, but not much more. At least...until one of the children started having visions. At first it was just a flash here and there. An idea of where to find some desperately needed item. Insight into when shop storerooms and mansions' kitchens might be unwatched. Then it was bigger things, like warning the group the night before their hiding place was to be raided by the guards. However, it was the first time their gifted friend cast a cure spell that the whisper spread like wildfire among the older children...Mother Magpie was real.
Mother Magpie is a Chaotic Good deity whose true identity is unknown.
She is a goddess of thieving and trickery, but also of providence, compassion, and protecting children.
Her associated domains are Chaos, Community, Good, Luck, Protection, and Trickery.
Her subdomains are Whimsy, Family, Friendship, Imagination, and Thievery.
Although her most sacred animal is the magpie, she also favors any animals which scavenge from the leavings of society, such as crows, pigeons, racoons, and opossums.
Her holy symbol is a crude rendition of a black and white bird, which is sometimes depicted clutching a rolling pin, or other symbol of maternal status.

Pathfinder 1e take. Humanoid infants should count as animals in addition to their other types until they reach a certain age threshold.
1 year for humans, half-elves, and halflings
2 for dwarves and gnomes
7 for elves
Half-orcs are treated as full-humanoids at birth

Oh by the way. You know what's a thought i've been ruminating on all day? I think the Persona games could serve as a good model to base a "Princess: The Hopeful" videogame off of.
Particularly the emphasis on time management and making developing one's social relationships a critical aspect of gameplay.
Of course, this would mean having to drop most overt references to the World of Darkness. But that can be acceptable, especially since P:TH's story holds pretty well on its own.
I think the social links could be especially emphasized with certain story missions having parts that are made easier by having specific links up to a minimum level.
And perhapse tying them even more to character progression for party members.
Ooh. And maybe each social link can also have links other characters who the PC can facilitate bonding with for extra bonuses!
That's not even getting into how I envision their being multiple branching paths for the main story influenced by which Radiant Kingdom the PC pledges themselves to.
And perhaps unlike Persona, failing a main story mission doesn't result in an automatic game over but does result in a progressively sadder ending with each failure. You get lots of party members because they can all die if you're not careful.
And each death has consequences.
Though perhaps for a quality of life fix, character death is only possible during boss fights.
You know what the thing with failing missions not resulting in a gameover might not actually make sense.
Or at least, not unless you add more conditions to success than "defeat the dungeon boss before the designated date".
Then of course, there's the question of wether or not the Sensitivity and Belief mechanics should carry over to this hypothetical game.
In any case, they would have to be altered to function in this new format
Especially since the Integrity mechanic for mortal NPCs would have to be cut for narrative flexibility.
Some highlights from a conversation I had from a friend, @dailycharacteroption.

Discussion topic: Are "sexy goblins" valid and good or are they grossly missing the point? Are they both?

My human wizard was turned into a kobold by wild magic! While surprised by the change, she's curious about their culture. What advice do you have for someone seeking to get in touch with a newfound kobold identity?
- kobolds are much more physical in their interactions than most other species. try not to be weirded out if other bolds try to hug you or rub noses with you - that’s just how they greet people! (that said, NEVER hold someone else’s hand in public! that’s a major taboo)- the kobold language, Yipyak (also known as Boldspeak) sometimes involves various yips and yaps to indicate all sorts of things that words themselves cannot, similar to how some other languages can change the meaning of sentences using different tones. stick to their language’s normal words until you get the Yip System memorized- you will likely find yourself having the inexplicable urge to collect little things you find, or lie down near something warm, or to crawl inside small spaces. that’s normal kobold behavior, don’t worry! feel free to curl up on one of your party members’ laps to sleep, and maybe get them to scritch behind your horns too.

To newcomers of my blog
First of all, Welcome! I’m very glad that you enjoy my content.
My blog focuses on published official archetypes and other character options for the classes of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game system (As well as Starfinder), with the occasional foray into related content, including third-party published content for the same system, musings about roleplaying, and more.
I deliberately do not provide stats for the content I provide here on this blog unless it is specifically my creation, like the conversion work I have done for races from other franchises. This is to encourage readers to seek out the actual published material. My entries are merely meant to expand upon and promote interest.
However, there exists numerous online resources where the stats for these archetypes and the like can be found online, such as Archive of Nethys , which has recently become the official SRD for both Pathfinder and Starfinder. Albeit, it is very player-oriented, with certain subsystems and the like having not been uploaded. Another is d20pfsrd , which, while unofficial, has made the attempt to document everything that isn’t setting-specific about Pathfinder.
Additionally, if the content of an entry, be it archetype, character option, or other subsystem, comes from a specific book (which most do), I will put the title of said book in the tags of the post (That being said, a lot of my older posts do not have this. I really should go back through and edit them sometime)
Thanks for reading! I hope this was informative.

Skeletons, obviously. They're lightweight, mobile, have no pesky hunger reflex interfering with orders. And. AND. The best battlecries. (See the skeleton battle from Jason and the Argonauts. Nuff Said.)

you son of a gun (affectionate) you got to it before I could while I was at work!
But yes, they’re right; Geryon’s humanoid upper bodies are likely not the true creature, but simulacra created to wield weapons and speak with others.
So what is the true form of Geryon?
well, dailycharacteroption already helpfully pointed out just where to look to see its face.

Tired of redemption arcs?
Have you ever wanted to play a character going through a corruption arc? Try Pathfinder’s cool rules for it!
The blog @dailycharacteroption is exploring these in a great series of posts, but here’s my takeaway. If you want to battle the worst parts of your character’s nature, you should talk to your GM about these horror-based mechanics. Looking for a Gollum-style link to an evil artifact? Try the Possessed corruption. Want to sell your soul and have it drain away while you’re still alive? Try the Hellbound corruption, or the Amoral corruption. Do you want to explore undeath? You can be slowly twisted into a lich, a ghoul, or a vampire! What fun!
As always, this is also a great inspiration even if you don’t play Pathfinder. I’m looking at one of these for one of my unfortunate 5e players… mwa hahaha
