The child in her arms just wouldn't stop crying and Aemma desperately cradled her back and forth.
"Shhh my love.", she purred and kissed the babe on her forehead. "Shh, sweetling, you are fine."
The young mother was overstrained with her two children and now one of the wet nurses was sick with the fever and her sweet Maera just wouldn't stop crying. 'If only Viserys was there.', she thought.
Not that he could fix it but everything would be easier. But no, he was busy with the small council and in the evening would probably celebrate and feast in honor of his guests and Aemma would be on her own with their daughter again.
Croaked cries and shouts left Maera's throat repeatedly and her mother thoughtfully walked from her bed to the table and then back again. She had a thought in her mind. One that Viserys wouldn't approve of but it was a tempting one. Aemma sighed. She knew that she would upset her husband once he would learn of what she was about to do but it didn't really matter to her. Right now all she wanted was to calm her daughter and not listen to her complaints another second so the young mother left her chambers and found what, or better who she had been looking for in his own chambers.
Daemon Targaryen sat on a chair, his head lowered in front of a book and his hands resting on his forehead. He was highly concentrated and didn't even notice his sister by law until Maera let out another cry. Daemon lifted his head and a slight smirk appeared on his face.
"Aemma.", he said.
She walked torwards him and exhaled loudly. "Daemon, please, could you take her? The last time that you did Maera was so much more calm and content and it's just too much sometimes with Viserys being barely here and…"
The prince interrupted her by getting off the chair and nodding understandingly.
"It's alright. Of course I can take her."
He reached out to take the little babe from Aemma's arms and held her in his while slowly rocking her. She had previously still cried but only in a matter of moments did her weeping fade and soon she just sniffed in his arms. Her mother smiled relieved and let out a scoff.
"How do you do it, Daemon? Why is she at calm with you?"
In response he shrugged and didn't take his eyes off his niece.
"I don't know." He ran his thumb over her cheek to remove a tear. "You just needed your uncle, little one, mhm?"
He felt strongly protective over the little girl in his arms. The way her eyes twitched and how she grabbed his finger with the whole of her hand. She, his little niece, actually meant a lot to him and he couldn't hide the honest smile creeping up on his face. Daemon and Aemma laughed as Maera sneezed and then the queen sank down on a chair.
"Oh thank you, Daemon. You've done me a great favor. Do you mind taking her until the evening?", she asked carefully.
"Of course not, sister. She'll be safe with me."
~~~~~~~~~~
A little later Aemma entered her chambers, her daughter now in her own arms again. She had expected to be welcomed by an empty room but her husband stood in the middle of the room and had just taken a sip from his wine. Aemma raised her eyebrows and approached him to give him a kiss on his cheek.
"Husband. I thought you were occupied with feasting with the Velaryons."
"Later. I think a king should be allowed to have some time with his wife and daughter, shouldn't he?"
Aemma smiled softly and watched as Viserys took his daughter from her arms and lifted her in the air.
"I feel like she's growing every day.", he mumbled and his wife couldn't stop herself from saying her next words.
"That's because you're rarely with her and me."
The king turned to her at once, a shocked expression on his face. "What are you saying?"
Aemma crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Forgive me. It's just a lot sometimes. You know that Isyla is sick with the fever and sometimes Maera just doesn't stop crying. I don't know what to do then."
Her husband sighed and ran a hand over his daughter's head.
"I know. And I'm sorry that I can't be with you more. But I'm king and I have duties. I can't just stay in our chambers all afternoon and care for you and her."
Aemma nodded and stared at the floor. "I know. Of course I don't expect it. I just…" She didn't finish her sentence which made her husband lift one of his eyebrows.
"You just…?"
She dropped her shoulders and closed her eyes.
"Viserys… I wished you wouldn't get so mad when I give our daughter to your brother."
The king frowned. "What do you mean?", he asked sounding suspicious.
"Well… Today was especially bad. Maera cried and wept and kicked with her feet and it was so bad that I-I thought perhaps she would be more calm when Daemon holds her. And I know that you don't like it and I'm really sorry, but I came to him and from the second that he held her in his arms, Maera was quiet like a tamed kitten. It's truly magnificant, my love."
Viserys had a bitter expression on his face and his jaw was tense. And then he glared at his wife.
"You know that I don't like it."
"Yes. But I don't know why."
The king gave the babe to his wife again and walked back and forth in the room.
"Because my brother is dangerous and unpredictable. I'm meant to trust him with my only daughter?"
Aemma shook her head. "Daemon is 15. He is merely a child himself. And I can see it, he loves Maera. If you would simply open your eyes for once you could see it as well. Do you think he would, I don't know, murder his niece?"
Viserys exhaled annoyed. "No of course not. But I'm just careful, alright? I know him better than you do and I know that he can be a mess. He can do terrible things, Aemma."
She laughed out. "Not to his niece, love. Please just… Please allow me to go to him at times. It's a great relief for me to have a moment of silene. And then there is also Aegon. Sometimes I don't even have time for him when Maera is shouting all the time and I'd hate to neglect him."
Viserys was quiet for a few seconds but then chewed on his buttom lip.
"I don't like it.", he growled.
Aemma begged him with his eyes and pleadingly enclosed his hand with hers.
"Fine. But only when there is no other choice."
She quickly nodded and felt a weight dropping from her heart.
101 AC
The wind messed up her hair but no part of her cared. She had never flown so fast, she was certain. Daemon had taken her on Caraxes so many times but never that fast.
"Wuhuuu.", she screamed and tightly held on to her uncle as he guided his dragon through the crystal clear sky. It was a hot day with the sun burning down on King's Landing but up here with the wind it was the perfect feeling.
"How about a dive, little one?", Daemon asked her turning his head to her and Maera excitedly shifted on Caraxes' back.
"Yeahhh. Please, I want to go faster."
Her uncle chuckled lightly and then pulled at the ropes to make his dragon dive down towards the blue of the sea. The sun reflecting in it became brighter the closer they flew but then just when Caraxes was about to hit the water Daemon pulled him back and they lifted into the air again. Maera screamed and her hands dug into her uncle's shoulders. "Oh gods!!!"
Thirty minutes later Maera was sulking as her unlce swang himself off his dragon's back. She had tried everything to convince Daemon to fly a little longer but he had told her that her father would be very angry if she didn't return soon and no matter how hard the girl had complained, he hadn't given in.
"I'm sorry, little one.", he had said and led Caraxes back to the dragon pit.
Now he stood on the ground and heaved Maera through the air until she was standing on her feet on the muddy ground.
"I don't want to go back, uncle. Everything is so stupid here and on Caraxes it's so nice."
She had taken the sleeve of her uncle's tunic and pulled at it while her mouth still formed a pout. In response Daemon grabbed her under her arms and lifted her. He carried her towards the red keep while the frown on her face didn't vanish and Maera sucked on her thumb, just like she had always done when she was upset or sad.
"We can take another ride on Caraxes soon, sweet niece. But now it's time for supper and then bed."
"I'm not hungry. And I'm not tired.", she answered. Daemon sighed.
"You're a stubborn little thing. I promise you, we can go again tomorrow."
Maera's face softened a little and she put the hair out of her face. "Will you play with me later? Please uncle, it's no fun with Aegon, he always steals my toys saying I have the better ones."
Daemon smirked while walking the two of them up the stairs to the throne room.
"Yes, love, I will. But don't forget your high valyrian lessons. We'll make it an hour but if you behave very well maybe 45 minutes will be enough."
His niece nodded eagerly and rested her head on Daemon's shoulder. "Sȳz." (Fine), she smiled proudly which made her uncle smile as well.
"Olvie sȳz." (Very good)
~~~~~~~~~~
"Se zaldrīzes zāle…."
"Zalagon.", corrected Daemon.
"Zalagon.", Maera repeated. "Oh uncle, please. I don't want to anymore. I don't want to learn it and I don't want to learn about stupid history with septa Julvra and how to hold my stupid fork."
Maera sat on his lap but relentlessly shifted because she had grown tired of this and rather wanted to play with him.
"You have to, niece. You have to learn the language of your ancestors and you have to learn these kinds of things so one day you'll be a noblewoman of court and can marry a noble man."
The girl pouted at him and poked her uncle in his cheek.
"I want to marry you, uncle. Not a stupid lord."
He chuckled quietly and stroke her hair back but then turned her head towards the book opened in front of them on the table.
"Read, little one. You know that word already."
But Maera was tired and annoyed and shook her head. "Please uncle. Please, can we play now?"
Daemon sighed deeply and gently grabbed her shoulders. "Three more sentences, alright? Then we can play."
She giggled excitedly and read the following words with a new determination.
108 AC
Maera turned her head from one side to the other, humming some familiar melody to herself while feeling the sun tingling on her skin. She loved that feeling and then stretched her body with relish.
She still had her eyes closed when she heard the door open and someone enter her chambers. Only when the steps had stopped in front of her did the girl slowly open her eyes and recognized her handmaiden in front of her.
"Princess. Your lord father demands your presence in his rooms."
Maera yawned open-mouthed. "Mhmm."
But she obeyed and drunk on sleep got off her bed. She let her maids brush and braid her hair, put on a light gown and then followed her handmaiden down to her father's chambers.
Once inside she sat down on a chair while watching Viserys write something on a piece of parchment. She boringly dangled her legs waiting for him to finally tell her why he had asked her to come to speak to him and then he finally put down the quill and gave her his attention.
"Daughter. I wish to speak to you about your brother's upcoming name day."
"What of it?"
The king smiled kindly. "I want to know what you think Aegon likes more. Chocolate cake or lemon cake?"
Maera smiled widely. "Lemon cake. Definitely."
Her father chuckled. "Are you sure? Or are just saying this because it is what you prefer?" She giggled but shook her head.
"No. Aegon prefers it as well. I know it."
Viserys remained suspicious but nodded while tidying up his desk. "I shall believe you then. What are your plans for today, daughter?"
The girl thoughfully put her finger to her lips.
"Mhmm, I want to go to the gardens to pluck some strawberries. Septa Julvra told me I am to wait until the summer so they are ripe and sweet and I think it's time now."
Her father nodded. "That sounds lovely. Take your brother with you, please. I think he needs a bit of sun."
But Maera rolled her eyes. "He would not come with me anyway. He's only ever interested in studying his books and he always ignores me."
"He's 15. I think every boy and girl is a little reserved at that age."
Viserys stood up and walked to a shelf nearby. While sorting some letters he turned his head to talk to his daughter.
"You can go to the gardens but only…. If you'll bring me some of those delicious strawberries as well."
Maera smiled and took it as her sign to stand up and leave to follow her plans.
~~~~~~~~~~
One by one did Maera take the strawberries and let them fall into her basket. She couldn't help but almost accidentally let one slip into her mouth now and then because they just tasted too good in her mouth.
It was a warm morning and she knew it would be an even warmer midday so she was determined to do this before noon so she wouldn't melt in the sun. Suddenly Maera heard a noise behind her and when she turned around it was Daemon who observed her smugly.
"Uncle.", she said excitedly and handed him a strawberry she had just cut down. He took the fruit and ate it.
"Thank you, niece."
Maera then went back to plucking the strawberries from the bush while Daemon leaned against a tree, closed his eyes and let the sun shine on his skin.
"A beautiful morning. It's summer now."
The girl nodded. "Yes. Septa Julvra told me to wait until the summer with plucking the strawberries." Her back faced her uncle so she couldn't see the smirk on his face.
"I didn't know you liked strawberries, little niece. Remember how much you cried two years ago when the servants prepared the most amazing strawberry cake for your name day? You wouldn't stop until they brought it away from your view."
She felt her skin getting warm and was glad that Daemon couldn't see it.
"Taste can change.", she breathed and her uncle chuckled lightly.
And then Maera was done because her basket was so full that the strawberries on top threatened to fall down. It was good timing because it was almost time for lunch and so Daemon and his niece started to make their way back. He saw how Maera struggled to hold the heavy basket so without a word he took it from her hand and carried it himself.
"Go to your chambers and change before the meal. Your hair is messy and the hem of your dress is dirty."
The girl sighed and frowned. "I'll do it afterwards. Or in the evening. I'll go outside today again anyway. It's redundant."
Daemon glared at her and raised his eyebrows. "No. You'll do as I say, little one and go change now. It's inproper to show up in the dining room like that."
Maera lowered her gaze and nodded. Of course she would obey him. Only recently had she learned about it in her lessons with septa Julvra. A wife was to obey and listen to her husband. She was to please him and do as he commands. And though Daemon wasn't Maera's husband, she still had taken these words to heart. She wanted to obey and please Daemon the way a wife pleased her husband. She wanted to follow his commands and make him happy by being obedient.
And that's why Maera intended to always listen to him and do exactly as he wanted. It was her little game inside of her head. Sometimes she imagined that he was in fact her husband and she his loyal and good wife. And so along with her imagination Maera did everything Daemon asked her to, she studied when he told her to, brought him something from his chambers when they were together in the dining room, held her fork differently when he said that her manners were bad and went to brush her hair when he said that it didn't look lady like. Just the way a wife would do for her husband.
109 AC
"I hate you!! You are so mean and unfair and you always put Aegon before me.", Maera screamed on the edge of breaking down in tears which made her father shake his head in disappointment.
"I don't put your brother before you! But he is the heir to the iron throne, daughter and so it is important that he comes with me on this process."
Her eyes flashed and spit fire as she clenched her hands in fists.
"You don't care about me at all only because I'm not your heir. I hate you. I wanted to come with you on your travels and now I have to rot in the keep for two months while Aegon gets to see so much. I hate you!!"
With these words Maera stormed out of her father's chambers without waiting for his permit to leave but she couldn't care less. The tears rolled down her cheeks now and they veiled her view so much that she didn't even see where she was going. Her blood was boiling inside of her veins and she had to fight the urge to hit something but then someone approached her from behind with quick steps. Maera turned around and before realizing who it was the person had wrapped his arms around her back and held her to his chest.
She realized who it was at once. His familiar sent and the way that he felt made her sniff and Maera's hands enclosed around the fabric of Daemon's shirt. He soothingly caressed her hair and her back until her crying was more quiet and then all the tears had spilled out and there was nothing left. Maera hiccuped and sniffed and crouched her head against his strong chest.
"He's s-so mean.", she whined. "He promised me that I would go w-with them b-but now I have t-to stay here while Aegon g-goes with him alone."
Daemon's hand was buried in her hair and his thumb stroke her head.
"Shhh, little one. It's gonna be fine."
"No it's not!", she claimed angrily which made Daemon abruptly take hold of her shoulders and he held her a little away from him.
"Calm yourself. I'm not the reason for your anger.", he said with lifted eyebrows and Maera dropped her gaze ashamed.
"You're right. I'm sorry."
Her uncle caressed her shoulders softly. "You know that I will stay in the capital as well?"
The girl widened her eyes. "Really?"
Daemon smirked. "Yeah. I decided it days ago. I told my brother that what I needed is some time to rest in my home."
Suddenly everything felt so much lighter and easier and Maera didn't feel anywhere close to crying anymore.
"You'll stay here as well?", she asked again only to make sure that she hadn't understood it wrongly.
Her uncle chuckled. "Yes, I will."
She rushed to throw herself in his arms once again only that this time she was happy and relieved and didn't seek comfort.
"Can we go on a trip on Caraxes, uncle? Please." But unfortunately Daemon shook his head.
"You know that you have to attend your lessons, sweetling. Septa Julvra is probably already waiting for you in the library."
She rolled her eyes. "Oh please. Can't I skip it for once?"
Her uncle furrowed and looked strict. "No, you can not. Don't disobey me, Maera."
She gulped but nodded. Unconsciously she brought her thumb to her mouth and started to nibble and bit at her nail which made Daemon exhaled deeply and reach out to grab her hand.
"I told you a hundred times that you are not to nibble at your nails."
Maera looked up to her uncle with big eyes.
"I'm sorry, uncle. I know that you've told me before. I'll stop it from now on, I promise." He looked content now which gave her relief.
"Good. And perhaps I can read you from your favourite book later. After your lessons with your septa."
And then a little later Maera sat by the fire place clutching the book in her hands. She was already scared that her uncle had forgotten her but her worries were unecessary. The door opened and he walked in with a croaked smile on his face.
"Hello, little one."
Maera smiled happily and watched as Daemon sat down in one of the big comfortable chairs and then he tapped on his thigh.
"Come here. I'll read you."
But the girl hesitated, remembering what her septa had told her recently. Daemon noticed her doubt and frowned.
"What is it, girl?"
But Maera was ashamed and felt the blood rising in her cheek and thought it to be more comfortable to look down to her lap instead of her uncle.
"Maera. Come here and tell me what is bothering you. Are you angry with me?"
She quickly shook her head but did as he had told her and slowly walked towards him though her eyes were still fixed on the ground.
"Julvra told me that… that I wasn't allowed to sit on your lap anymore.", Maera breathed at last which made Daemon chuckle quietly.
"Mhmm… And why is that?" She slightly raised her gaze and glared at him with big eyes.
"She… She said that… That I'm a woman now. Because I... I have bled. And that it isn't proper f-for a woman to sit on a man's lap."
Her uncle sighed deeply and leaned back in his chair while watching the flushness on his niece's cheek.
So she was a woman now. A grown woman in a marriagable age. How interesting.
111 AC
Maera's lower lip slightly trembled as she watched her uncle hug her father.
"Take care, brother. I know you'll do well."
Then he was done and his eyes wondered to her. It was her turn now. Why did it have to be her turn? She felt how her eyes got teary and tried everything to surpress them but Maera was almost certain that Daemon noticed them.
"Don't be sad, little niece.", he whispered and then wrapped his arms around her shoulder to pull her towards him. The girl gripped his tunic at his back and tightly held on to him as though she could make him stay that way. She felt a tear run down her cheek but luckily her face was pressed again his chest so no one could see it.
"It's so unfair.", Maera whispered and didn't even know whether these words were directed to her uncle or herself or even her father. Daemon was the one answering though.
"I won't be away forever. Don't forget me, little one.", he added which almost made her sob.
How could she ever forget him? Maera didn't even know how she would be able to spend her time while her uncle was gone.
"Please come back soon, uncle. Please."
He didn't answer to that but gently pulled away from her to watch her with a smirk on his face. Daemon ran his thumb over her cheek just for a brief moment and then turned around to approach Caraxes.
"Goodbye, Daemon.", Viserys said.
Maera wanted to do something, shout at him to make him stay, shake her father and convince him not to send Daemon away but she couldn't.
She was frozen and then it was already too late because her uncle had flown away and became more little with every second until all he was in front of her eyes was a dot, small like an insect.
In a Daemon AU, Okarun would absolutely have a cheetah daemon and you can't change my mind. Like what would be more perfect for him than the lanky, fast in bursts, low stamina anxiety kitty?
2nd STARWARS/DAEMON AU POST!!!!! This time with the CC's and the Disaster Lineage!
Obi-Wan: Maned Wolf (Kee-Ayt)
Anakin: Lion (maned female lioness) (Asieko)
Ahsoka: Gryfalcon (Tuex)
Cody: German Shepherd (Beskar)
Rex: Siberian Husky (Queen)
Wolffe: Wolfdog (Whitefang)
Fox: Doberman Pinscher (Vulpe)
Bly: American Akita (Lyra)
LORE TIME: first off! Jedi! So I thought a lot about how daemons and Jedi should work. I did end up deciding that Jedi GENERALLY have bird daemons (like the witches in His Dark Material), BUT not always. The Jedi having bird daemons is not a ‘All Force Sensitives Have Daemons Who Settle As Birds’ thing. It wouldn’t make sense in this AU since Force-sensitivity is a spectrum and at what level would someone have ‘enough’ force-sensitivity to have a daemon for certain become a bird? I didn’t like that narrative as much, it felt restrictive. So instead Jedi tend to have bird daemons, but not Force-Sensitives. Like all Jedi are force sensitive ( and have bird daemons) but not all Force-Sensitives are Jedi, make sense? This is because of how the Jedi raise children and teach them to interact with the force. Because of how Jedi are taught to view and use the force, their daemons tend to settle as birds! It’s ‘nurture’ over ‘nature’ thing. Which is why (in this AU at least) the Jedi don’t take in older children to train. Because they’ve already probably learned their own way to interact with the force (different from the Jedi teachings) and therefore will have a non-bird daemon! Hence Anakin having a lion daemon. “But what about Obi-Wan?” (Well since Obi-Wan is one of my favorites I get to spice him up lol). He was originally very Jedi like (daemon wise) but after the whole Jedi Apprentice/Xanantos enslaving him/Melida-Daan war thing, he daemon ended up settling as a Maned Wolf! I imagine he was just about the age where his daemon would settle (usually 13-15, which is the same reason this is the age Jedi initiates are made padawans), so it was a surprise that his daemon so abruptly changed and settled. Most likely the effects of being so abruptly exposed to violence and war right out of being only use to the peace of the Jedi temple his whole life.
(Extra) The 3rd page of the post! Cody and Obi-Wan’s daemons! Beskar and Kee-Ayt! Even though in my doodles Beskar seems to be very grumpy and even hatful towards Kee-Ayt, DO NOT BE FOOLED. Beskar adores Kee-Ayt. Their relationship just mirrors how I headcanon Cody’s and Obi-Wan’s. Where they will harass and bitch at each other to hell and back. Sounding from the outsider’s POV like two people who hate each other. When in reality these two are joined at the hip and love each other. They just will never admit it because “we have reputations to uphold!’ (Anakin says “what reputation? the reputation that one of you would murder the other if it wasn’t for the fact the GAR would court marshal the other?”) But yeah, Beskar makes fun of Kee-Ayt’s long ass legs. The mini ‘comic’ is about how I imagine that since all the Clones’ daemons are dogs/canines, when they win a battles they have a ‘Victory Call’ where they all howl. Beskar offers for Kee-Ayt to join in, but Maned Wolves can’t howl. They do this thing called a Roar-Bark (look up a video it’s so loud). This is the first time Beskar hears Kee-Ayt roar-bark and it scared the shit out of her.
(Extra Extra) The 4th page of the post! This is mostly doodles of Rex, Anakin and Ashoka’s daemons (Queen, Asieko and Tuex). All three reflect the close relationship that Rex, Anakin and Ahsoka have. Hence Tuex nesting on Queen and Asieko trying to groom Queen (who doesn’t appreciate the rough lion tongue bath she’s getting). (In fact Asieko tries to groom Tuex and Kee-Ayt too, but Tuex is too small and Kee-Ayt just starts biting Asieko bcs she doesn’t appreciate the bath either lol). We also have Tuex dive bombing Asieko (a common occurrence whenever Anakin and Ahsoka bicker). Tuex also does this to literally anyone who slightly annoys him or Ahsoka. And lastly the little doodle of Rex and Queen screaming! Idk if you’ve ever seen videos of Huskies, but oh boy are they loud and dramatic. I think with all the stress and insanity Rex has to deal with leading the 501st, he and Queen often have therapy screaming sessions. They deserve to.
(ALSO, I will be making follow up reblogs with lore/plot stuff for each individual character)
ugh first of all, I hope your pillow is always cold, your charger cords never break and may you find money on the streets just for funsises.
second of all!!! Saaiyan Hatto Jao would be such a fitting song, of Dancer seducing Daemon so let’s go!
Daemon Targaryen x Martell!Wife!Reader
tw: exhibitionism? kinda misogynistic but bare with me pls 🤭 clit play, fivesome(kinda), breeding kink, humiliation, oral m and f receiving. mf(fff), mentions of underage stuff ekkk
main masterlist
In whatever capacity Daemon had within himself to restrain himself from his pretty wife was surely a bravery the Maesters ought to write in books. He had graced the courts of Lys multiple, multiple times. That's where he’d found Mysaria all those years ago. She was a whore, and dancer but a whore. He visited the city twice in his youth, in all his glory mounted open the ominous visage that was Caraxes yet not once was he esteemed enough to watch the infamous courtesans of Lys. Those women, wretched but entrancing women who invited the ones their hearts pleased, unlike any other establishment that would let in anyone with a coin to throw.
Imagine his surprise when an enticing swan from that very establishment had been under his nose this entire time, part of him cursed himself for not seeing it earlier. Something of such enchanting breeding couldn’t have simply come from the loins of Qoren Martell, and knowing your parentage was from Lys. If you weren’t already an insatiable spirit, Daemon pawed at your skirts even more now. He knew that the matter of you dancing was rather sensitive since your mother’s passing and he would never impose himself onto you otherwise.
Yet it couldn’t help taunt the perverse within him, such was the beauty of the Lysenees courtesans. To entice a man wild with just the melody of their voices and the ancient craft of their dance. Many a man with pockets deep enough to raise kingdoms lost their prospects at the doorsills of these bewitching girls.
You spoke of it at length with him once, sat in a warm bath overlooking the sunset, how esteemed of a pupil you were and come of age, your introductory performance had carriages lined for ten streets. Should the time have come, you might have even become the Madam of the establishment with age. The more you excelled in your art the more you feared of never leaving that place like your mother had wished for you. You not once loathed dancing, you hated the politics— you hated how wars began at the backs of courtesans partaking in spying against the very lords they once served to backstab and plot away at every chance they got for their survival. You rather missed the morning singing lessons and the sounds of your sister's anklets running up and down the halls.
“You keep such things from me,” Daemon muttered against your bare shoulder, peppering kisses up to your “You sing?”
You nodded, lifting your head to look at him with a sheepish smile.
It wouldn’t take a lunatic to envision your sweet voice singing away… singing just for him. He tried, he tried so very hard to not let his twitch cock at the thought of it, he was sure you felt it.
“What am I to do with you.” He groaned.
For a wish he had dreamt of since he was near seven and ten, no amount of gold named to the second Targaryen prince would get him inside that establishment, not after he had claimed Caraxes— a magnanimous beast that could burn all those witches in there all at once and not even after aiding the Free Cities with its odd brawls with one another.
And here the damned gods had blessed him with his wish, perched upon his lap. Eager to please him, vowed to obey and be with him till death do them part. Curious how the world worked.
You were no fool, like an animal in rut you had felt Daemon’s demeanour change since the day he discovered you were an untouched courtesan and caught you dancing in the Mirrored Palace alone. You were no stranger to the allure and aura that followed from being who you were, or who your performative personality is.
There is no harm done you thought, you had no joy in dancing for the men at court yet the sound of perhaps performing— truly performing for your lord husband seemed titillating.
It was the conditioning perhaps, to have a noble lord claim a courtesan all to himself, it showed one of two things. A lord with immensely fat pockets or a woman worth nearly a kingdom and its cavalry.
What were you worth? A fucking dragon-lord, a kingdom can’t be worth much if it’s ash. With your children most likely inheriting dragons too, you would by comparison must have outshone all your sisters back in Lys. Such fortune all for a pretty song and the swaying of one’s hips.
When Daemon had told you about is escapades in Essos, especially of how many times the poor prince had tried to gain an audience at your former court. You internally giggled at the picture of a young Daemon clamouring like the rest with gifts and praises to win the attention of your house Madam at the time. Even when he returned with a dragon he was barred, and it wasn’t unusual. Your Madam enjoyed playing with fire, toying with how far she could push men just to catch a glimpse of one of her girls.
Come to think of it, she might have been trying to grasp for an invitation to the Old King’s court, set up an establishment in King’s Landing. But one thing you’d learned from the stories Daemon told you about King’s Landing. Much of the courtesan's work would be polluted by the lack of affection for its craft.
You couldn't deprive him so, not when he paid you handsomely, ravishing your body each night like a silent prayer. Even having seen you, felt you and taught you things that would go beyond the means of a courtesan’s work. You saw the passion in his eyes when he’d find you fixing your ghungroos or humming under your breath as you worked on your needlepoint. The tests of a true Madam now laid at your feet, not only to devise an elaborate function for your dear husband but to be discreet and the most essential part of it all, for you to be perfection.
You’d pick the night of the coming full moon, you knew your father would have grumbled himself to his chambers rather early, the change in tides somehow always made him ill. Your sisters would all be abed, Daemon’s daughter’s too. The commendable part were your lady’s maids, pussyfooting away orders of flowers from Pentos, the special vials of rose oil from Qarth, at least a hundred candles to light up the arched viewpoint at the Watergardens. Daemon’s favourite foods to be prepared along with fine strong wines from the Old Palace cellars.
The intricacies of this function had been handled with such care and secrecy, that it made you consider moving into the manse your father had gifted you after your wedding for some privacy. Surely, a married— happily married couple engaging in salacious acts with one another shouldn't be unexpected. Lastly your lehenga, unlike the ones you usually wear, was truly a magnificent piece made by the dressmaker. A black velvet blouse with a dangerously low neckline and shoulder embroidered with dragons of red and gold threads, a lighter skirt of silk with heavy gold embroidery and embellishments and a chiffon embellished shawl that did nothing to hide your figure.
Another ruse was set up to hide your true schemes, a quaint supper with just you and Daemon being entertained by folk singers sent by Yi Ti.
The evening had been rather splendid, Daemon had no interest in listening to some fucks sing about in a tongue he understood not, but when his sweet wife insisted upon spending the evening together: he couldn't deny you.
He suspected that you were up to something, with supper being prepared, dishes lined up one after the other which were all those he shamelessly indulged in, the rather aged wine that you had been consuming a little too much of. He did not mind, either way, fucking his wife tonight sober or a sweet slobber mess— all was well in the world. After what seemed like a while, Daemon finally felt at ease, calm with a purpose that he belonged, with his daughters and you.
“Excuse me, dearest.” you whispered against his ear, smiling before pecking his cheek “I’ll be back.”
Daemon smiled back, watching you rise from the floored cushions that the both of you nested on, his eyes very shamelessly admiring your backside and the curves of your hips as you walked back into your quarters. He marvelled at the thought of ripping that very lovely maroon gown of your body. The colour change had been a sudden shock to him when you fluttered your way into the sparring wards in a Dornish gown painted in the dark crimson of his house’s colour. Rest assured the sparring continued later in the evening and the gown alas did not survive.
You had slipped out easily, just as the doors closed behind you, the lot of you bolted the opposite direction to your privy and down the hallways, skirts hiked up as you used your other hand to free your hair of the loose Westerosi braids they were in. Your maids ran with you, two of them already waiting by the Watergardens along with the the whore dancers you had acquired all outfitted in white and the esteemed musicians that played at every one of your events.
Hiding behind the thick shrubbery, your maids hastily stripped you off your gown and small clothes and replaced them with the ensemble made for tonight. You prayed to the gods while calming your breath from all that running, let it be perfect. The four girls would greet Daemon upon his arrival, even though they would be a finer treat than most men have had in this lifetime, you were another anthology entirely.
Daemon had been given his first clue after the Yi Ti performers had finally ended their never-ending song.
“The princess awaits you in the Watergardens, my prince.” the attendant had informed before scurrying away.
Whatever this was, Daemon was truly intrigued seemingly obeying his wife and heading straight out of the gardens without any delay. The show that greeted him there however had him taken aback for a moment, the garden pillars decorated in blossoms and twinkling candles scattered across the stairs leading to the arches. He could hear the mellow music and the serene sound of flute dancing along with the crashing waves.
Just like a dream come true, he was greeted by the sound of ghungroos— a sound he had grown accustomed to. Four girls rushed towards him, lifting their hands to their faces and bowing.
“Good evening, my prince.” one of them spoke.
“We have longed for your arrival, your grace.” said the other. Reaching forward for Daemon’s hand.
At any other time he might have pulled away, but this was surely orchestrated by his wayward wife. He could feel her around but couldn't see, and these girls— preening up at him like willing, wanting whores, they were no courtesans. He played along, letting them drag him along to the shore view where an elaborate arrangement awaited him. An old fire in him arose when his reputation had been so palpable at the many brothels across the Known World. Two of them pushed him onto the plush sete, giggling as one of them plops right next to him.
“Would you like some refreshments, my prince.” One of them said with a bunch of grapes in her hand, the other poured him a glass of wine. The third took her time feeling Daemon up, he thoroughly enjoyed this but longed for his wife— his courtesan. One of them began to unbutton the tops of his doublet, soft fingers trailing across his chest.
His sexual frustrations and anticipation began to pivot to a perverse ire, to find you hiding somewhere and reprimand you with your arse red for teasing him so.
That is when the sound of a heavier set of ghungroos echoed around the arches, there you were. Your glowing face against the moonlit sky and candles, you walked towards, body covered in a thick black shawl. The girls around him lifted their skirts and ran towards you, positioning themselves. Then came the music, a smirk so prominent settled itself on Daemon’s lips as his lifelong dream had now stood in fruition before him.
You seductively, inch by inch let the black shawl drop until it fell to the ground, looking at the shawl and suggestively looking up at your husband. You twirled thrice forward, ending right by Daemon’s legs and lowered yourself. He knew not of what you sang but it was as though a witch chanted spells to bind him to you.
The song you sang was one of innocence, a sweet girl begging her lover to let her return home— for the higher the moon rose in the sky her reputation hung by a thread. Ever so seductively telling him to stay away because she knew his true desires were so very impure.
Stay away my love, I know what you desire
You reached for the rose tucked in your blouse, reaching lower to gesture at your ghungroos, giving Daemona a rather exposed view of your bosom. You acted as if his looking had offended you and flicked the rose at him, you stood to continue your routine still singing without a note or beat missed. You knew within that you were perfection, it is what you were trained for from birth. This one performance should have costed half of Pentos, but look upon Daemon’s eyes was payment enough for you.
Night fades to dawn my love, please let me go home
You pulled your shawl of your head and down you your shoulder, toying with it around your cleavage. Eyebrows suggestively scrunched at Daemon, making him kiss the rose you gave him and throw it back at you which you caught with ease, letting the petal graze upon your cheek and then your lips lowering it further down the sides of your torso and tucking it this time at the lining of your skirt. You turn your back towards him swaying you hips as you walked away, turning once to wink at him and continuing to walk until the hardest part of the number began.
The percussion beats could never be missed by your feet, in a performative haze you smiled at the three dancers who also did an extraordinary job at keeping up with you. You turned one last time.
My mother and sister by law shall poke, where had I been, my love. I will die of embarrassment
You walked towards him this time, an exaggerated sway in your hip as you pulled your shawl out from your skirt lining and let it fall to the floor, you turned once more, performatively reaching for the back strings of your blouse and pulling them to mimic a sensual morning stretch. You turned towards your husband who had settled himself further into the cushion.
You kept singing as he reached his hand out, you took it letting him pull you onto his lap. Your soft finger held his face as you kept singing, leading his face towards your neck and he wasted no time in peppering kisses down your collarbone. You pushed him back there after which startled him, you could feel the hardened mound under his breeches— your payment.
Stay away my love, I know of what you desire.
Daemon had enough, still letting you finish your song, your eyes and eyebrows still expressing away your performative feelings as he reached for your Nath and removed it, a significant indication of deflowering a young courtesan.
Your song ended as you sat straddled upon Daemon’s lap, you gaze never left his— like you were another person entirely. Daemon relished in how he intimidated you, how shy and small you were around him, how receptive but innocent you remained even when he taught you to pleasure him and yourself in bed. Yet this woman sat atop him, you were someone else.
“Was it everything you ever dreamed of, my prince.” Your whispered, your hands caressing his face.
Daemon for a moment couldn’t find his words, that’s when you snapped from your performance growing anxious from the silence. You were about to pull away when Daemon abruptly spun you down onto the cushion so he lay towering over you, caging you under his broad build.
“How am I to pay you, my lady,” he said, wanting to rip the clothing off your body but he looked behind to still see the four girls standing.
“They are yours tonight my prince,” you nervously, your aura slipping back to the former “As am I.”
At that Daemon held no restraint and laid siege upon your body, he figured the lasses could still dance as Daemon would take you apart under the moonlit sky.
You held nothing back, arching your back onto the onslaught of Daemon’s lips. Letting your fingers feel the remaining buttons of his doublet and pushing them off his shoulder. This time you pushed back, the heat on your cheeks so apparent for you’d never thought to be so forthcoming in bed before, Daemon always held the reins, placing you in positions he liked, teaching you ways to pleasure yourself.
Daemon grunted for a moment, fighting against the push of your hands before giving in, letting you lay him back down once more. You straddled him once more, this time slipping back into the seductive performance you’d laid out for him. Smiling down at him as you slipped your blouse off, slowly— inch by inch before dropping it next to you.
Daemon’s lips parted in a gasp, though his cockiness would credit his lessons for confidence in this matter. He was further crazed by how much you appeared to be enjoying doing this. He couldn't help himself, reaching up to tweak at your left nipple. You began to roll your hips against the hardening of his breeches, your bare cunt under your skirt pressed at the girth giving you just a small burst of pleasure.
You did Daemon of his tunic, your fingers tracing his battle scars as you reached lower, letting your lips press against his warm skin— letting yourself inch lower and lower as you shuffled off him.
You both yearned greatly for one another, nearly four moons into your marriage and the passions you shared for one another only seemed to reach further heights with each passing day. A fire that Daemon had lit within you burned so bright for him every day. One might think you were born to be with him, obey him.
Daemon watched as you undid his pants, pulling them down his legs and not once leaving his eyes, you were an ethereal sight, bare-chested with his gifted jewels shining at your neck— so prepared to service him. You reached for his cock and that's when he stopped you.
His hands trailed to your head of wild hair, gently tugging at it. “You want my cock?” he said. Eyes wild and waiting for your response.
You meekly nodded, sticking your tongue out just as he taught you to. Wasting no time further he pushes your mouth onto his cock, letting your head bob and suction at his length. You worked your tongue around his cock, the taste of him so familiar in your mouth. You whimper as he pushes in further breaching the back of your mouth and making your eyes water.
“Who would have thought it hmm, the finest girl Lys could offer kneeled like a whore for me” his words falsely degrading you sending shockwaves straight to you your core.
You whimper, this time willingly taking him deeper feeling your throat want to constrict as you pull up for air— he however stops you briefly before giving you relief. A string of salvia lingering on your lips. He wiped at the tears polling around the corner of your eyes.
“Take the rest of it off girl,” he demanded, eyes ravenous and impatient.
You gathered your bearing before standing once more, pulling at the waist string of your skirts with no haste to tease him yet again. You let your skirt fall as you caught onto the rose still tucked at your waistline. You kissed it and threw it at him. Every look, every action towards you seemed to have been pooling your cunt wet.
Daemon grunted, yanking you back onto him. His lips smacked against yours once more as he took a harsh hold of your tit with one hand while the other held you here. His actions were voracious, seducing your soul rather than your body.
You took matters into your own hands, unable to keep up with this game any longer and reached for his cock— gently rubbing the tip at you folds before lowering yourself onto him.
Daemon groaned into your mouth as you gasped, having never felt him so deep, you held onto his shoulder fingernails digging in.
“You're so deep,” you whispered, your breath hitching as you adjusted to the intrusion.
His fingers dug into the flesh of your arse pulling you further down and full of him. You felt so close, so one with him. You began to grind your hip, your neck cranked as Daemon’s head dipped lower to kiss your shoulders and up your neck.
“Such a fine prize aren't you, tell me how do I pay you?” he said bucking his hips up into you making you sqwak.
“D-dragonseed… I want your babes.” you whispered, head hanging in a wanting shame.
Daemon smirked, he had forever hoped to make you swell of his children but he never knew your sweet mind craved to be bred.
“Go on then, take what you want.” he rested back on to his elbows, bucking his hips once more to coerce you to keep going.
You rested a hand on his torso using it as leverage to lift your hips to bounce into his cock. Your snug cunt milking him to fill you. Your smaller legs weren't enough to lift you that far off his cock, but you tried nonetheless. Daemon reached for your cunny, his thumb began to rub circles onto your clit sending you into a frenzy— riding him with far more determination.
It felt good, so very good.
“How does it feel darling? How does it feel riding a dragon.”
You let out a strained giggle at that, still unable to help your childish mind. You kept riding him, Daemon’s lips restraining a smile too at your ill-timed humour. Earning you a sharp smack on your left tit.
“It feels so good, so deep.”
Your hips found a steady rhythm against Daemon’s fingers at your bundle of nerves. Your each bounce ore eager than the one before. Your tits bobbing and calling for equal attention from Daemon.
“My prince!”
You moaned, feeling that pinnacle ever so close as you chased it.
“I’m all yours,” you said unprovoked “a courtesan trained just for you.”
Daemon nearly lost his bearings at that, pinching your nipple harder. Seven Hells— he knew you were made just for him.
“Say it again.”
“I was born to be your c- courtesan.” you cried, feeling so very close to completion.
Your thighs begin to shudder, he can feel them clenching— he lets go of your breast and grabs your hips in aid to feel you gush around him. A sudden pitched cry leaves your mouth as you tremble your bouncing coming to a halt as you fight to hold yourself up but Daemon’s fingers on your bundle of nerves don't stop.
He abruptly flips you over, readjusting you within a blink of an eye. Your bare body facing the dancers as Daemon’s solid wet-length rested on the curve of your ass.
“We could get your money’s worth,” he suggested nipping at your ear lobe, his demeanour shifted to the one of you loving husband. “We needn't—”
“I trust you.” you looked up at him, chest still heaving from your peak before and yet you always wanted more of him, more of his depravities.
So many fantasies, much to do.
He gestured them forward knowing they would take much time to shed their clothes, they were whores trained to dance.
All three of of them vulgarly bowed, giggling amongst themselves.
“My prince.” The chorus of their voice followed as they began their performance to reach for him.
He tutted— he’d die happy if he died tonight.
“Not me, her.” He ordered.
You looked back up at him, a curious flare in your eyes that was met with his top protruding at your sloppy opening once more.
The girls entirely shifted their attention onto you.
“Mhmm you have such lovely tits princess.”
“Such soft skin.”
“Such a fine figure, your grace.”
Daemon pushed into you once more, groaning and resting his head onto your shoulder. His palm curled around you neck pulling your back against his shoulder. He knew of the explosive pleasure you were about to discover, even more joy was that he would be the one giving it to you, a fine reward for my girl, the fruits of the lovely exhibition you'd put on for him.
He began fucking into you, small grunts and exhales lingered by your ear and what followed from there on had your mind scattered.
One whore settled on suckling your nipples, twisting and toying with the other. One muffled your moans with her lips upon yours. Your cunny was already sensitive but then you felt a sensation you never had before. The third girl kneeled by the nest and began to lick your bud.
“D— Daemon!”
The sensation so overwhelming you began to pull away, Daemon curled other arm firm around your torso to keep you in place as he continued rut into you.
“Feels good doesn’t it, my love?”
You could barely speak but you nodded, eyes shut feeling yourself so lost in every touch. One of the whores disappeared behind you, settling herself under Daemon to service his heavy stones.
He watched as the whores played with your tits, he too reach further up to tweak a pebble harshly between his fingers. You gasped at the burn of pain. The whore sucking at your teat came to your defence.
“Gentle my prince, breaking a thing so pretty isn’t fair”
“Not this one, her cunt is squelching around me.” he groans.
“Its true!” the girl by your cunt giggles.
Your cheeks burned in shame, they spoke of you like you weren't around. The whore licking your bud pushed at your folds to leave it exposed as she suckled and licked and rubbed away. Daemon’s cock fucked you raw from within and you felt it once more, hurtling towards.
“Go on, wet my cock my love.” he grunted fucking you harder.
His peak chased after as you broke first, gushing around his cock as you screamed his name. Legs and arms shuddering as Daemon grunted to completion himself, ropes of his spent coated your walls. You could feel the warmth within, nearly forfeited by your sensations. He held your body so close, recovering himself as he shooed the whores away.
Letting you collapse in the nest first and then himself. Laying soft kisses at your shoulder, still firmly holding your hand to ground you.
“Well done, my love.”
You lazily smiled at him, dazed in euphoria as you rubbed your feet against his calves.
“What have I done for fortune.” He whispered against your temple.
You shrugged at him, leaning forward to kiss him once more. “I hope you are pleased with my performance?”
Daemon shook his head, begging mesmerized by you. He let his hand rest at your belly.
“If giving you all this love,” he kissed your cheek. “My dragonseed,” he pressed onto you belly. “Isn’t indication of how very pleased I am sweet girl.”
Then you heard a high pitched squeal from the skies, clicks and then the rustle of trees around you. “Then perhaps I should show you what being a dragon feels like.”
Caraxes burst through the horizon behind your circling the skies as he lowered himself onto the white beach. You looked at Daemon puzzled, as he pulled you up to dress you.
“What are you doing?” You huffed putting your blouse back on.
“You want to have my children, it might be time that you grew accustomed to Caraxes.”
You kept dressing yourself to mask the fear that was coursing through your veins. I dance for him and he plans to kill me. You could barely muster the courage to be even ten feet around Moondancer and that beast was a babe. Caraxes is a behemoth, he protects your husband— he told you how the two of them were two halves of whole. It never made sense to you.
“Don’t be scared, halves of a whole remember?” he said as he bent down to lift you up by you back and legs once you finished dressing.
You’d rid yourself of your ghungroos just to not startle the beast.
“I love you, care for you. Therefore he does too.”
You weren’t sure about how sure he was about said theory. Yet you let him carry you to the beaches below where Caraxes sat waiting, when you saw him it almost appeared as though he was playing with sand. Shaking his snout it the sand to bury it and then exhaling to have sand fly everywhere, followed by loud clicks.
“Is he— is he playing?” You asked your husband.
“Told you, he’s harmless.”
That beast also burned dozens of Dornish men but alright.
Just as Caraxes felt Daemon’s presence he chirped up even more, his long neck swaying in the wind. However it only took a moment for his demeanour to flip when he realized there was another. You froze in Daemon’s arms at the low grumble Caraxes let out.
“Dohaeras Caraxes!” Daemon lowly warned the beast.
Caraxes still look unsure but Daemon kept walking.
He put you down a few feet from the beast, don’t run— don’t run. You watched as Daemon walked towards Caraxes without a care in the world that his wife might get fried tonight.
“Konir sagon ñuha ābrazȳrys, ao gīmigon zirȳla syt izula hūra, keligon issare quba.” That is my wife, you have know about her for four moons. I told you.
Daemon sounded like he was scolding the dragon.
He turned to you “Come my love.”
You obeyed, talking small steps towards him. Towards his outstretched hand. Everything would be fine, you trusted him. Entirely— wholeheartedly, with your life.
Just until Caraxes turned his long neck and his snout just with a feet from you. You froze entirely once more, Daemon still petting Caraxes.
“Dohaeras,” he whispered, almost as if he spoke to a child.
Caraxes’s big nostrils flared, sniffing you a couple of time before chirping. Daemon chuckled, you relaxed for a moment until Caraxes gently used his snout to trip you backwards before once more burying his snout in the sand and deeply exhaling, burying you in a thick sheet of sand. Daemon couldn’t help but break into a fit of laughter
“Daemon!”
You were going to great friends he knew it.
eeee I had so much fun writing this. I totally imagine Caraxes kinda being like jealous Lilly from modern family lol
I Don’t Think I Can Do This (Daemon x Reader)
Hey y’all so I know I was supposed to write another request but my job has cause my imagination to ran dry and this was certainly easier cause i wanted to write something that shows the burden that women carry and also that Daemon is a very grey character, I hope you guys like it
The story of (y/n) Eaglemore and Daemon Targaryen did not start as a love story, one would suppose that seems to be a common trait amongst the concept of arranged marriages, especially to a young maiden of an independent kingdom to the rogue prince Targaryen, their marriage was the establishment of Eaglemore joining their forces with the Targaryens, (y/n) was dressed in her traditional attire with her hair in an intricate style, she was breath of fresh air in the house of the dragons, a proud Eagle that was brave enough to fly with the dragons as the flag with the colors of red and black flew next to the black and red she assumed the similarities were bound as an omen for success.
That was quickly ripped out of her mind at the bedding ceremony that she endured, the prince was not brutal, yet she had hoped that he would forbid it, he was cold and only placed a kiss at the top of her head after it was done before he left her laying while the ones that observed it cleared the room, tears streamed down from embarrassment while the handmaidens helped her get up to assist her with her bath.
-
“Husband!”
She exclaimed excitedly before she skipped over to Daemon who was preoccupied with having a conversation with Viserys was much more important than turning his head to face her, alas the newlywed stood by his side and reached for his hand to get his attention, innocently she squeezed it only to be met with an annoyed expression as he gazed intensely at her.
“What?! (Y/n)! Did they not teach basic manners in your homeland?”
“I-I just, I wanted to give you this, I sewed it for you, it’s the dragon symbol with the eagle”
“Great, give it to the handmaidens, is that all?”
Suddenly she became hyper-aware of the pie of eyes around her, mostly men that had taken interest in the scene that unfolded in the gardens, she felt like a little girl scolded by her father, she bit her lower lip as her shoulders sunk in defeat, the glimpse in her eyes slowly disappearing like a light snuffed out.
“My apologies, I did not wish to interrupt you and the king, I hope you can forgive me, y-your grace”
“It is quite alright, my dear, for what it’s worth I found your creation a wonderful gift, do not pay attention to daemon he has never been good with gifts”
“If that means I have never been good with gifts that have no use then yes, I agree”
“I shall go, excuse me, your grace, husband”
She curtsied before she ran off, her chocolate-colored hair swinging left and right in her ponytail as her eyes looked down to hide the tears that she desperately held back, Daemon watched her and could sense the damage he had caused, sometimes he would catch himself staring at her with purity and interest, he had even smiled once when she struggled to find the right word in his language.
He should have stopped, he should have held his tongue when the evident quiver of her chin started to show when her eyes bounced in different directions as she wanted to gather her composure, but he didn’t, now Daemon stood as still as a grain of salt whilst she once again ran away from him covered in shame.
“She is your lady wife Daemon, must you be so hard on her?”
“A wife that was bestowed to me”
“She is also someone that was bestowed a spouse, yet she took it with grace and is grasping desperately to create the best out of the worst, as a man that prides himself on his intelligence your lady wife has surpassed you, at least in principle and empathy”
Daemon was stunned, as Viserys spoke in such kind words his words slashed through Daemon like the sharpest of knives, this was Daemon's second marriage, and it had become second nature to be rude and unattainable to his lady wife since the bronze bitch shared the same hatred as he did for her, now the cheerful lady with the deer like eyes and red puffy cheeks had been nothing but kind, a foreign pain in his chest started to make Daemon uneasy as she ran further and out of his line of sight.
“If I were you I would be very ashamed”
-
(Y/n) sat in front of the mirror as one of her handmaidens lit her candles and the other brushed (y/n)s hair to prepare her for bed, (y/n) stood as still as she could though her fingers intertwined with one another and twisted in odd ways.
“Could you leave me with Chiara, please? Thank you”
(Y/n) requested softly, the young handmaiden only curtsied before she walked out of (y/n)s chamber, whilst Chiara continued to brush her hair, they had grown into a bond that (y/n) felt comfort in, Chiara was sweet and honest, somewhat older, and had just given birth to her first child, she was the first handmaiden that she met when she got to the red keep.
“Do you love your lord husband?”
“I do, now”
“What do you mean?”
“I married him per my father's request, and he gave the biggest dowry, at first it was difficult, we had to figure out a way to communicate and after a while, I like to think that he grew to love me as much as I love him, though first, we respected one another, then love came gradually”
(Y/n) grew silent, her head hanging low before she bit her lip in defeat, she respected her lord husband? Did her lord husband respect her? After the incident on the morrow, it certainly didn’t feel like it.
(Y/n) had not noticed that Chiara had scrounged in front of her and placed her hands over (y/n)s, she only saw the tears that splashed over the handmaidens' skin.
“You won’t always feel like the outsider”
“I don’t think I can do this”
“You can, it is alright my dear”
One sob came after the other as (y/n)s body shook and Chiara lovingly wrapped her arms around the lady’s frame in such delicacy, it resembled a girl hugging her porcelain doll while she tried to not crack it, in its macabre nature you could identify a certain beauty, someone that had the strength to comfort a disheveled young lady as she navigated through womanhood and all its trials.
What had (y/n) nor Chiara had taken into account was that Prince Daemon had made his way to the half-cracked door, freezing in his sport once the whimpers of agony hit his ears, he peaked through the shadows only to be met with his lady wife letting tears stain her dress and hiccups shaking her hunching back as the handmaiden rubbed circles on her back.
“Prince Daemon is a fool for not acknowledging the precious stone that is you, may the gods bless him and open his eyes before he is taken from us”
Daemon had no reason to intervene, the poor lady was right, he was a fool, here she was, a beautiful and intelligent young royalty crying over his acts, he had always longed for home, for family, and now he kicked and toyed with it.
He should be the one comforting his lady wife, to gaze upon (y/n)s puffy and red face and do his best to calm her nerves, not to be the face of her pain, shamefully he scurried away without a word, mad at his reflection that stared back at him in such high horse, he had become everything he hated, a man that did not care about anyone but himself, stopping at nothing to prove he was right.
-
“Good morrow”
(Y/n) did not respond, she only raised her head and nodded at Daemon that had just entered the dining area, exhausted from crying the lady felt like a family of horses had run over her, getting barely a wink of sleep, evidently so by the veins under her eyes.
(Y/n)s silence was deafening to Daemon, however, he cleared his throat and took a sit next to his lady wife, waiting for a servant to pour him some wine.
“Orange juice? I believe we do not grow these over here”
“A gift from my mother, she said orange juice in the morning is a secret to a woman’s beauty”
“She must be the most astonishing lady back in your line”
“You met her, on our wedding feast, I believe you were too busy to pay attention, like always”
The last comment was barely above a whisper still sharp as a knife right on Daemon's abdomen, Daemon only turned his gaze at her, confused by her demeanor, it wasn’t uncalled for yet it took him by surprise, she always seemed to have the ability to hide her agony at least in public.
“Mayhaps we could go to her, I’m sure she will be more than happy if her daughter visited her”
“Not if my belly is flat, as much as she wanted me to be thin for most of my life she is now sending raven after raven to just check in with my monthly bleeds”
She informed him in a mumbling tone while her hand was rubbing circles on her temples, visibly annoyed over her mother's disregard for her well-being and hyper-focused on her womb.
Daemon was taken back by her comfortability to speak over her monthly visits, brushing it off easily though since they were husband and wife after all, those matters should concern him as well, the idea of a sweet little child running to (y/n)s arms brought him joy.
“It must be uneasy, being put in this position”
“Indeed and if I am being honest, my lord husband has not been making it any easier, with my empty womb nor his attitude”
“I understand you are cross with me”
“Can you blame me? You humiliated me”
Her tone switched from my king to a hiss, her eyes spewing fire as she stared back at him, it was the first time that she dared to show her true emotions, albeit Daemon could detect that it wasn’t just an act of anger but a sense of fear was laying behind those hues of hers.
He was correct, (y/n) feared for her future, the whispers of Daemon's visits to the street of silk, the adoration for his niece, his continuing ignorance over their wedlock, it all came crashing on her chest making it unable to breathe sometimes.
“I came to break my fast with you as a sign of goodwill, I want us to work on our relation-“
“Us? There is no us, you made sure of that my prince, you have crashed all my efforts and now you dare to speak of us”
“I cannot correct my past mistakes, I can only hope that you will allow me to work on our future, you did not deserve my coldness and for that, I sincerely apologize, I only wish for your good graces and for you to allow me to show you how I truly feel for you and our wedlock”
Silence, her eyes focused on his to scatter for one ounce of a lie, alas she was left with nothing, a sigh left her lips as she sunk to her chair defeated, why did the gods curse her with such a difficult match?
“I do not know if I can love you, I tried to desperately earn your affection for so long, I have grown tired of this”
“I know you have and I do not blame you, I beg you, my sweet (y/n), let me try”
His hand had found hers to hold, the warm flesh against hers grew goosebumps, a small beam of light found its way into her soul and a ghost of a smile appeared as (y/n) glimpsed upon their hands locked together, she gave him a subtle squeeze to see if this was a dream or reality.
“I suppose trying couldn’t hurt”
“Thank you, now you must eat, your mother might be right you have lost some weight”
“My efforts of getting accustomed to your foods have not been working”
“You do not have to, we can bring a cook from your homeland, my lady wife shall eat whatever her heart contents”
“There are some delicacies that I believe you would enjoy”
“I am not very picky with food so I will try anything you put in front of me”
Chatter was something (y/n) could easily do, however, even though Daemons spirits were high, (y/n) would steal glances of caution at him, was this another scheme? Or was he genuinely craving her presence and good graces?
“I was hoping you could come to meet Caraxes later”
“I do not know if that is the best idea”
“Nonsense, Caraxes is a part of me, therefore a part of you by law, soon our children will have their eggs on their cradle, if you are surrounded by dragons you need to get used to their presence”
Requests are open!
Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland (Daemon AU)
Then Edwin’s gaze drops down to Christine, to her scaled body barely poking out from under the blanket. “I have told you my daemon’s name,” Edwin says, “May I have the privilege of knowing yours?”
It isn’t a privilege, mate, Charles nearly says, because knowing a daemon’s name is about as normal as knowing a person’s, but more especially because Christine was named by his father. A violation, of sorts, that Charles just had to get used to over the years. That Charles just had to accept, because that’s what he did with his father’s orders.
But then Charles looks down at Christine and he realizes that she’s been one shape for longer than she’s ever been before.
For a moment, in his shivering state, in his fevered mind, he thinks that she’s just grown as cold and sluggish as him, but he knows as he manages to pry a couple of stiff fingers out from under his blanket to touch her that that’s not it. Of course that’s not it.
Charles, colder than the coldest blizzard he’s ever felt, slowly beginning to thaw thanks to the lantern of this ghost in front of him, this first night of kindness he’s ever been given, has finally had his daemon settle between one cold breath and the next.
People so rarely rename their daemons. His father would consider it a smack in the face. He’d easily belt Charles for the insult.
But Charles is sixteen and dying and he sees the divine for the first time as his daemon, his girl, huddles up on his lap, as cold and wet and alone as he is. He has a chance to make something new of her. Something new of himself.
And Charles doesn’t want to carry around his father’s family names anymore.
So I'm still on this daemon AU kick, and I can't stop thinking.
What are the limits?
It's generally accepted that a daemon is an animal representation of the soul, right? So, you know, we've got birds and mammals and reptiles and insects.
But what about fish?
Obviously there's an issue here of, you know, environment, and if your soul literally can't survive in the air while you literally can't survive in the water, there's a problem.
But, hey, if it's small enough, you could have a little fishbowl for your daemon to live in. Hamster ball, but filled with water, rolling along at your heels. Fishtank on wheels that get tricked out like dudebros soup up their car. And maybe, if you're from a particularly sea-faring culture/lifestyle a water-bound mammal like a dolphin or an orca could make sense. And then there's things like sharks, which have so much symbolism attached to them that it seems a real shame to have to rule them out. (Someone who's particularly driven or ambitious having a daemon that would literally die if it stopped moving is a bit of symbolism I'm going a bit feral for, tbh.)
I think we have to rule out the deep sea creatures, unfortunately. Fishbowls and/or living on a boat wouldn't really solve the problem of pressure, and someone with a blobfish daemon would, uh... be in trouble.
And if we're talking about things that can't survive in the same atmosphere as humans, what about internal parasites? Like flatworms. I think it's safe to say that having your daemon parasitizing your intestine kind of defeats the purpose of having an external manifestation of your soul, but... There are species of flatworm that aren't parasites, so... do we just rule out all flatworms, or are the non-parasitic ones okay?
And speaking of flatworms, what about size? I've read some fun stories that deal with the issues that might come from having, say, an elephant daemon. It's not quite as dramatic as the issues of having an aquatic daemon, but actually, similar adjustments would have to be made to your living situation to cope. But, of course, it could be done and I don't think anyone's trying to rule out animals on account of how big they are, but I think it's safe to say that microscopic daemons are out for the same reason that internal parasites have to be.
There's a nice solid rule I can settle on; a daemon has to be a visible animal.
And, in point of fact, I think it's safe to say it has to be an animal. We can rule out trees and plants and even fungi.
So what about coral?
It's an animal, and if we are allowing for some aquatic daemons, then should coral be an option? Or are its vibes too plant-like to qualify? Do we rule out sessile animals like we ruled out microscopic ones? As much as I find the idea of a coral daemon absolutely hilarious, I am going to come down on the side of animals that are too much like plants are a no.
So a daemon has to be a visible, mobile animal.
But what about the ones that only move very slowly? I don't think we're ruling out sloths, but in the continuing vein of torturing myself considering various aquatic daemons, there's starfish and sea urchins and hell, even most bivalves can move at least a little, right? (Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't done that research yet.) And there's a lot of fun symbolsim to be had, there, I think.
And what about extinct creatures?
I think it's safe to say that mythical creatures are a no-go, unless this is a 'verse where those animals are real, (oh, boy wouldn't that confuse people in a world like HP where most people think dragons and unicorns aren't real, but people still wander around with dragon and unicorn daemons) so we can ammend our rule to visible, mobile, real animals, but could we go so far as extant?
If yes, that would have interesting world-building implications. Where's the cut-off point? Can we rule out dinosaurs because we don't/didn't have enough information for a daemon to settle into a form that wouldn't be technically mythical? But then, what about animals that go extinct within human history? What about all the people who had mammoth daemons or dodo daemons as those animals were dying out.
Would conservationists study daemon statistics to see if an animal has really gone extinct? Would an animal's extinct status get over-turned when a kid's daemon settled into that form? Honestly, I like this enough that I've convinced myself that, at least barring some very unique circumstances, extinct animals are not allowed.
So, it has to be a visible, mobile, extant animal. That can exist in proximity to humans.
Oh, and should probably add; visible, mobile, extant, and non-sapient.
You can't have a human daemon, or an elf or a dwarf or a fairy daemon even if they exist in that world, and if this is a 'verse with dragons who're more than just exotic magical animals, you can't have a dragon daemon. (Obviously, if your fairies are more like magical bugs than tiny people, then fairies would be a valid daemon.)
...I'm still on the fence about whether a daemon should have to be air-breathing or not. That kind of rule would still leave marine mammals available for the fun world-building of how people adapt to that kind of handicap. (...Do you think people with aquatic daemons would be considered disabled? Oooh, what about people with really big daemons? I mean, presuming such a thing is comparatively rare, people probably wouldn't be building schools with a mind to allowing elephants or giraffes to wander the corridors.)
Disclaimer! This is for my own creative process, and not intended to limit anyone else's creative flair. And, honestly, I'd love to hear other people's takes on what does and doesn't qualify for a daemon.
Daemon Targaryen x niece reader
During the weeding of your sister Rhaenyra and Leanor, Daemon decided it’s time to show everyone your his..
Request are open..
Under the Moonlit Sky
The halls of the Red Keep were alive with the sounds of celebration as Rhaenyra Targaryen wed Laenor Velaryon. Tapestries adorned the walls, and golden lights flickered like stars, but amidst the opulence, Daemon Targaryen felt a different kind of fire igniting within him—one fueled by his love for you, Rhaenyra’s younger sister.
You stood on the fringes of the festivities, your heart a mix of excitement and apprehension. Though you should have been celebrating your sister’s union, your thoughts were consumed by Daemon. His presence had always been magnetic, drawing you in with a charm that was impossible to resist. The night felt electric with unspoken emotions.
Across the grand hall, Daemon caught your eye. His gaze was intense, an unmistakable spark of desire lighting his features. With a swift, purposeful stride, he approached you, the chaos of the wedding fading into the background. “Come with me,” he said, his voice low and thrilling, sending shivers down your spine.
“Where are we going?” you asked, heart racing as anticipation coursed through you.
“I want everyone to see us.” He replied a wicked grin spreading across his face
Your pulse quickened at the thought of leaving the celebration, of stepping into the unknown with him. It was reckless, yet thrilling. “But Daemon, the wedding—”
“Let them have their wedding,” he interrupted, taking your hand and leading you through the dimly lit corridors. “Tonight is ours.”
As you slipped away from the crowded hall, you felt a rush of exhilaration.
The air was thick with the scent of roasted meats and sweet pastries, the sounds of laughter and music ringing in your ears. Daemon’s grip on your hand was firm, leading you through the throngs of revelers. “This is where the real fun is,” he said, his eyes glinting with mischief.
The crowd parted before you, drawn to the sight of Daemon, the infamous rogue prince, with his niece, the princess at his side. You felt the weight of their stares, both curious and judgmental, but in that moment, all you could see was him.
“Dance with me,” he urged, pulling you into the center of a lively gathering. The music swelled around you, and without hesitation, you surrendered to the moment. Daemon’s presence was intoxicating, and as you twirled beneath the stars, you felt the exhilaration of freedom.
The crowd watched, whispers rippling through the air as you lost yourself in the dance. Daemon spun you around, laughter bubbling up between you as he captured your waist, pulling you close. “Let them see,” he said, his breath warm against your ear. “Let them talk.”
But amidst the joy, a flicker of apprehension coursed through you. You caught sight of King Viserys, your father across the way, his expression a mix of confusion and disapproval. The tension in your chest tightened as you realized the implications of Daemon’s boldness.
“Daemon, we can’t—” you began, but he silenced you with a kiss, his lips brushing against yours with a fervor that stole your breath. The world around you faded, leaving only the heat of his body and the urgency of his touch.
When he finally pulled away, his eyes sparkled with triumph. “If the realm must know of our love, then so be it. We will not hide.”
As the night wore on, you danced, laughed, and reveled in the electric connection between you. But the reality of your situation loomed in the back of your mind. You were Rhaenyra’s sister, bound by duty, yet Daemon’s presence ignited a wildness in you that longed to be unleashed.
With each twirl and every laugh, you felt the weight of your desires push against the constraints of propriety. Daemon was a tempest, and you found yourself swept away, caught in the storm of his passion.
As the revelry continued, Daemon suddenly stopped, pulling you aside into a quieter corner of the hall, illuminated only by flickering torches. “Do you trust me?” he asked, his tone serious yet tender.
“Yes,” you replied without hesitation, your heart racing at his intensity.
“Then let’s make a statement,” he said, determination glinting in his eyes. “We will not be ignored.”
Before you could fully grasp his intent, he pulled you closer, brushing his lips against your temple. “I want everyone to know that you are mine.”
With that, he stepped back into the fray, pulling you along with him as he raised your intertwined hands into the air. The crowd turned to watch, surprise etched on their faces. Daemon’s voice rang out above the music, filled with confidence. “Tonight, I declare my love for this woman! The sister of the future queen! And my dear and loving princess”
Gasps erupted, and your heart raced. The onlookers exchanged bewildered glances, whispers swirling like leaves caught in a windstorm. King Viserys’s face tightened, a mix of shock and anger flashing in his eyes.
“Daemon!” you hissed, panic bubbling up inside you. “What are you doing?”
“Making sure they understand,” he said, unabashed. “You deserve to be recognized.”
“Enough!” Viserys’s voice boomed, cutting through the chatter. He strode toward you, concern and frustration painted on his face. “What is the meaning of this?”
Daemon faced him, unwavering. “Your Grace, I love her. She deserves a place beside me, not hidden in the shadows.”
The tension between the three of you crackled in the air. You stood beside Daemon, caught between loyalty to your family and the wild love you felt for him. “This isn’t the time, Daemon,” you urged quietly, your heart pounding.
“I won’t let you cast her aside,” Daemon declared, his voice steady. “If you refuse to acknowledge our bond, then I will make it impossible for you to ignore.”
Viserys’s eyes narrowed, weighing the implications of Daemon’s words. “You cannot simply declare this,” he warned, the authority in his voice attempting to reassert control. “You risk everything—”
“Everything is already at stake,” Daemon interrupted, his gaze fierce. “I will fight for what is mine.”
With the crowd watching, a hush fell over the street, the tension palpable. You could see the realization dawning on Viserys’s face, the weight of the situation sinking in. This was not just a declaration; it was a challenge to the very order of their family.
“Are you willing to marry her, Daemon?” Viserys asked, his voice low and measured, as if he were trying to calculate the fallout.
“I am,” Daemon responded without hesitation. “If that is what it takes for her to be by my side, I will marry her before the sun rises.”
The crowd erupted in murmurs, shock and excitement mingling in the air. You felt your heart race at the implications of his words. This was a path laden with uncertainty, but the thought of being with Daemon ignited a fierce determination within you.
“Daemon, you can’t—” you began, but he turned to you, his eyes filled with a mix of affection and resolve.
“No more hiding, my love,” he said softly. “You are meant to be with me. We can face whatever comes together.”
The realization washed over you like a wave. This was not just about you and Daemon; it was about forging a new path, challenging the norms of your world, and embracing the love that had been kept hidden for far too long.
As the celebration continued around you, you felt a sense of exhilaration. You were part of something larger, a movement that could reshape the future of House Targaryen. The night felt charged with possibility, the air thick with unspoken dreams.
As the revelry persisted and the crowd began to dance once more, you leaned in closer to Daemon, your heart pounding. “Whatever happens, I am with you.”
“Always,” he promised, his lips brushing against your ear, sending shivers down your spine. “We will rewrite our story.”
With that vow echoing in your heart, you stepped back into the celebration, hand in hand with Daemon Targaryen, ready to face whatever challenges awaited you. Under the moonlit sky, surrounded by the energy of the city, you knew that together you would forge a new destiny—one filled with love, passion, and the courage to defy tradition.
𝑭𝒍𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉 — 𝘿𝙖𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙮𝙚𝙣
кเик†๏вэя, 𝓭𝐚𝔂 ②
𝘋𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘦𝘹
The sound of swords clashing filled the air as Y/n walked past the training yard on her way to the dragon pit. Her eyes wandering towards the men who had been training, she noticed one of them had been her betrothed, Harwin Strong. A smile formed on her face when he noticed her and shot her a grin, though she still couldn’t help but wish it had been Daemon who she had to marry. It has always been him after all. Y/n smiled back at Harwin as she passed before averting her eyes to the ground infront of her.
When she entered the dragon pit she noticed Daemon with his dragon Caraxes. When he heard footsteps he turned his head, a smile forming when he noticed her. “Lady Hightower.”
“Daemon.” She smiled, watching as Caraxes ignored daemons touch and started walking towards her. Once Caraxes was infront of her he nudged her arm. “Rytsas, Caraxes.” She smiled, running her hand along him.
“It seems my dragon likes you best” Daemon smirked walking over to the two. “Perhaps you’d like to fly with us?”
“Really?” She questioned, her eyes lighting up as she looked over at him. Caraxes let out a happy roar as if he could understand them, nudging her slightly again.
“I think he’s just as eager as I.”
Y/n had looked between Daemon and Caraxes, she wanted nothing more than to fly with him, but if her father saw.. he would be furious.
“Must I beg?” Daemon had asked, tilting his head slightly as she stayed silent.
“I’d love to go.” She smirked, she wasn’t going to let her father hold her back any longer. Besides it was just a little ride, she would still marry Harwin in two moons.
Daemon had helped her saddle Caraxes before he joined her, sitting behind her, the feeling of her this close already making his cock twitch. “Ready?” He murmured, his lips inches away from her ear.
“Ready.” She repeated with a smile.
“Soves, Caraxes.” He demanded, his voice loud and stern. In an instant they had been off the ground as Caraxes flew higher in the air.
Y/n couldn’t help but look around her, a smile she couldn’t control on her face as she backed into Daemon further, almost missing the small groan he let out.
“Careful” He whispered in her ear.
She couldn’t help but push herself into him further, feeling his cock hardening in his breeches.
“Y/n.” He muttered, his tone low, “Don’t start something you can’t finish.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She lied, moving her ass back and forth, rubbing on him through his pants.
“I will fuck you right here on this dragon.”
“Do it.” She murmured.
He let out a low groan as he put the rains in her hands, giving her control over Caraxes as his hands found her waist, moving them down and pulling up her gown so it was now bunched around her waist. “Turn around.” He muttered, grabbing hold of the rains again after he freed his cock from his pants.
“What?” She muttered,
“Now.” He demanded. She did as he said, carefully turning herself around, immediately being met with his smirk. “Now fuck yourself on my cock.”
Y/n’s eyes widened as she looked at him, before her mind was clouded with lust and she straddled him, lining his cock with her entrance before she lowered herself, a whimper falling past her lips as she did so.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, one of her hands resting in his hair, tugging on the now short stands, “I like your new hair.” She moaned and she moved herself up and down, his cock hitting a spot inside her she hadn’t known it could.
“Yeah?” He teased,
“Mhm!” She groaned, picking up her pace as he lifted his hips, thrusting into her.
“He’s never gonna make you feel this good, is he?” Daemon taunted, grabbing the rains with one hand and using the other to hold you closer to him, his hand gripping your ass. “Is he?”
“No!” You cried out, your head falling to the crook of his neck, letting out a wine as he continued to thrust into you, his pace quickening as Caraxes roared beneath you guys.
“I’m close,” He warned, “Gonna fill you up, put my babe in you, make your father have to wed us, fuck!” He moaned, releasing inside of you, though he hadn’t stopped, he continued thrusting trying to get you to finish aswell.
“Close, Daem!” You murmured, tugging on his hair, earning a small grunt in return.
“Do it, princess. Come for me.” He grunted as your grip on his tightened, your release washing over you.
You both stayed quiet for a moment, the reality of what you just did settling over the both of you. Though the silence was ended when Daemon let out a laugh, unable to help himself, “Wanna go again?” He smirked.
Bound by Flame (Chapter 1)
Contains: mean Daemon, mentions of words like slut and whore
Wordcount: ~3.54k
Masterlist of this story
114 AC (Maera is 17 years old)
Maera nervously bit at her thumb.
It was a good kind of nervous though. Not the kind when she attended a feast and some lord wanted to dance with her and she feared to stumble over her own feet. It was the happy kind. The kind when she couldn't wait for something to happen.
The sky was bluer than it had been for a long time and perhaps it was a sign from the gods. Maera's eyes were darting over the sky searching for the little dot that she had been forced to watch leave three years ago and now finally, after all this time she knew that she got to see it again.
During the past years she sometimes had found herself looking up at the sky in hopes that the dot would magically appear again. That Daemon would surprise the whole court and King's Landing with his sudden arrival on Caraxes but it hadn't happened. Three years weren't a particulary long time but for a litte girl it was the world.
Maera clearly remembered what it had been like after her uncle had left. She had fallen into a hole, some sort of numb and grey state where she just wouldn't smile or dance or sing or even eat. Nothing seemed exciting anymore with Daemon gone and Maera spent hours just staring at her ceiling while trying to find a purpose in anything she did.
Without her uncle her life had become boring and dreary and her father and also the other members of the small council had felt concerned because the previously joyful and lively princess had grown into a quiet and cold girl. Over time in the loneliness of her chambers a deep fury shooting at Daemon and her father had grown.
Obviously Maera knew that her uncle hadn't had a chance when he was sent away to fight at the stepstones and yet she felt neglected and hurt. How could he just leave her? How couldn't he sense how bad she was feeling and didn't come to get her? And she didn't even want to start with her father. The king had taken from her what was most precious to her and she was determined to let him feel how much it bothered her. She only gave him short answers, angrily flashed her eyes at him every time he wanted to tell her what to do and disobeyed him at any given chance. Maera had become bitter and sour and indifferent to what happened around her.
And yet right now was the first time in months that she felt a warmth inside of her belly because Daemon would come back today. She knew that things wouldn't be the same. Their distance over the last years led to several changes in Maera's feelings towards Daemon. She knew that she couldn't hide her hurt even once he was back and his absence had also given the girl a lot of time to think about their relationship and over time Maera had started to feel that her love for him had developed into a plain uncle-niece relationship. It was like a candle.
During her childhood Daemon had lit this candle and made it burn for him. Then he had left so that candle had gone out which had left Maera in coldness and darkness. And so while the candle was still beautiful to look at it simply wasn't the same and never would be. Maera appreciated the candle for what it was but nothing more.
And yet she of course couldn't wait to see her uncle again after these three painful years. It was only noon and Lord Envor had predicted his arrival for the late afternoon but Maera was already at the dragonpit and desperately searched the sky. She had to wait for another 2 hours until there was finally a dark spot in the sky. By now her thumb was bloody from all the nibbling but Maera couldn't care less. She just felt her heart beating fast and relentlessly bit her lip and then Caraxes became bigger and bigger before her eyes.
It was no surprise that she was the only person here to welcome him back because though his long absence most people in court still either feared or dispised the rogue prince. Maera couldn't hide a smile now because Caraxes had landed and she could spot the familiar armour and helmet with his silver hair blown in the wind.
"Uncle.", she shouted though not sure if he could hear her from that far away.
But it didn't matter anyway because he had spotted her and climbed off his dragon with a wide smile as well. He removed his helmet and Maera was already on her way to run towards him. It was overwhelming, surreal to see him again now because the girl had dreamed of a situation like this a million times during the past years and now it actually happened. It was difficult to process but right now Maera tried to stay in the moment and savour it.
She ran towards him and then jumped in his arms. Daemon chuckled quietly against her hair while wrapping his arms around her back so she wouldn't fall down. For a moment Maera was too emotional and overwhelmed to say anything to him so they stood like that in silence until she felt him caress her hair which brought her back to reality in some way.
"I'm soooo glad, uncle.", she said, or better nearly whispered and her words were additionally muffled by his shoulder and yet he understood them.
"Me too, little girl, me too. We haven't seen each other in quite a while, have we?"
Maera shook her head and then pulled away to look at Daemon. His hair was a little shorter now but aside from that he pretty much looked the same. Dirt was covering his armor and a bit of his skin as well but it was nothing a good and long bath couldn't fix. A wave of happiness flooded Maera's system all of a sudden and she tightly held him which her uncle noticed.
"Really? You missed your favourite uncle that much? You're probably the only one who's happy to see me, love."
She grinned and then grabbed his arm.
"Let's go inside. Father probably wants to see you."
"Does he though?", Daemon asked with one of his eyebrows lifted but Maera determindely nodded.
"Of course. You have to tell us all about your time at the stepstones. Father told me how bravely you fought."
~~~~~~~~~~
Maera, Daemon, Aegon and Viserys spent the afternoon lazily eating and drinking in the gardens. Daemon told them about his past three years and though there was a tension between him and his brother in the beginning, soon it felt a lot like many years ago. And yet Maera could feel that something had shifted between her and her uncle. She still admired Daemon of course but when she was younger she perhaps had been in love with him a little, a feeling that had vanished over the time.
They had a great time though and Maera hadn't smiled that much in months. Even Viserys seemed relaxed and so the afternoon tea turned into supper and then the sun had set and Maera couldn't help but yawn open-mouthed.
"Niece.", Daemon warned her and she closed her mouth at once.
"Forgive me.", she said and her uncle nodded approvingly.
"But I'm really tired and I think I would like to go to bed.", Maera then spoke.
Viserys nodded and so the girl stood up to leave the table with her brother Aegon. Once they were gone Daemon sighed and leaned back in his chair his legs crossed. His brother relaxed as well and waited for Daemon to say something but he didn't so Viserys started.
"Well… I'm glad you're safely back. Because though I know you don't believe me when I say this, I didn't exile you because I wanted you gone forever."
He wanted to get a reaction from his brother, see where they were standing but once again Daemon didn't do him the favor. He didn't even look at his brother and had his eyes fixed on a tree while having his arms crossed in front of him.
"Daemon.", Viserys tried again but he just chuckled and then finally turned to lay his eyes on the king.
"I wish to wed Maera."
Viserys' jaw dropped and he laughed in disbelief. "What?"
"I want her as my wife. She is of age now, I'm back from my exile and we can keep the blood line pure."
Viserys shook his head and still seemed like he couldn't believe his words.
"What? You can't be serious. No, of course you will not."
Daemon looked cold in his expression, like he didn't care about the refusal. "Why not? It would be in tradition of our house."
"You… No! I don't have to explain myself. You wouldn't be good for her. It's that easy."
It scared Viserys in some way how Daemon didn't even look angry or disappointed but smugly smirked to himself. It made his words, the words of the king seem less powerful.
"How… I mean why are you even suggesting this out of the blue? You haven't seen her in years and now you come back with the desire to wed her?"
Daemon rolled his eyes. "As I said. She's of age now.", he hissed.
Viserys shook his head and turned his head away. How could he think he would agree to that? There had been a reason why Viserys had sent his brother away and he was pretty sure that Daemon knew it as well. He hadn't been blind to the bond between his brother and Maera when they were younger and he had watched it with fear.
In the beginning Viserys had been relieved that his daughter had found a person she trusted and a companion in his brother but soon he was rather worried. Because he knew his brother so well and he knew what a violant and dangerous person Daemon could be. Him so near to his only daughter…? And her having such an affection for her uncle? They had spent almost every second together and so Viserys had found that he didn't have a choice but to separate them. He hadn't even been sure what he feared would happen but he didn't want to find out either. And now this. Of course he couldn't allow it.
While still looking away Viserys heard his brother get up from his chair and move away from him. Only when his back faced him did the king glance at him and watched him leave the gardens like a shadow flitting away into the darkness.
~~~~~~~~~~
Viserys nervously tapped with his finger on the table in front of him.
He hummed to himself, chewed on his buttom lip while waiting for his daughter. He had sent Ser Tommen 15 minutes ago and yet there was no sign of Maera. Viserys just hoped that she wasn't with Daemon.
Then finally the door sprang open and Ser Tommen bowed his head while Maera walked into the room with a curious look on her face.
"Father. You want to speak with me?"
The king nodded and gestured her to sit down next to him which she gladly did.
"Where have you been? Ser Tommen seemed to have searched for you for quite some time."
His daughter smiled softly. "I went to fly with uncle. You know I haven't seen Caraxes in so long as well so… We were very careful, I promise!"
Viserys nodded graciously but felt an uneasiness inside of him. It was as he had feared but he had planned to put an end to this at once.
"Yes. Fine. This is not what I wanted to talk to you about."
Maera adjusted in her chair and thoughtfully bit her lip. "What is it?"
Her father cleared his throat and just hoped that Maera would react to this with reason and not let herself get swapped away with emotion.
"You're 17 now and you know that we have spoken about marriage already." Maera watched him with small eyes, sensing in what direction this was heading.
"I want you to marry Lord Brandeth Lannister."
Her eyes fluttered. "What?"
"He is a fine match and he has already expressed his desire to take you to wife."
Maera's face was drawn with desperation. "No father, please. Please, not him. He is way too old, please."
As much as it hurt the king to see his daughter begging him like that, he had to remain hard now, for her own sake.
"I'm sure you will get along well. Give him a chance, Maera. He has proven himself loyal to the crown and to our family and I know he will treat you nicely."
But Maera seemed shocked, completely swamped with her father's choice of her betrothed and stammered her next words.
"B-But… n-no. I don't want t-to."
She was close to tears now and Viserys exhaled feeling like this wasn't the way he had planned things at all.
"My dear. Think about it please. I'm sure over time you will be able to accept and appreciate this union."
"I don't have a choice anyway.", Maera pressed and turned her head away so her father couldn't see the tears running down her face.
"But if you are willing to be unbiased you might…"
He was cut off by his daughter who abruptly got off her chair and flashed her eyes at him.
"I won't forgive you this.", Maera hissed and each of these syllables broke Viserys' heart.
"Maera please.", he breathed but she was already halfway out the door and didn't hear it.
Maera almost ran into Daemon once she turned around a corner. Her plan was to directly head to her rooms and preferably lock herself inside for the rest of her life but now that Daemon blocked the corridor she had no choice but to glare at him and tried her best to hide her fury. But of course her uncle knew her too well to overlook it.
"Niece. You look upset."
She blinked a few times and rubbed over her eyes and then gulped loudly.
"What is it, sweetling?", Daemon asked softly and Maera exhaled in an attempt to calm her temper. 'Who cared?', she thought. He would find out anyway.
"My father. He… He just told me he intends to marry me to Brandeth Lannister."
Her voice has gotten more quiet with these words and the last word was barely audible and yet Daemon had understood.
"Oh.", he made with lifted eyebrows. "That's unfortunate."
She nodded and new tears gathered in the corner of her eyes. "I don't want to marry him, I don't want to get to know him, I just…. I just want to do what I want."
Her uncle sighed deeply and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"And what is it you want, Maera?"
She hesitated. Was it clever to tell Daemon what dominated, controlled her mind at the moment? What influenced her every decision? He sensed her uncertainty and a gentle smile built on his lips.
"Why do you despise this union so much, little one?"
Maera's eyes scampered over his face as though she tried to find out whether Daemon would support her after she made her confession or look down at her. But she couldn't find anything so she anxiously scratched at her wrists and dropped her gaze.
"I-I… I don't want to marry him…. Because there is someone else I would like to marry."
A wide smirk formed on Daemon's face and he came a little closer. His finger lifted her chin so she had to look at her uncle.
"And who's that, mhm?"
Once again she hesitated and awaited if someone else would magically appear and answer this question for her but the gods were cruel and left her alone in this horrible situation.
"I wish to wed Ser Harwin Strong.", Maera whispered and the finger below her chin dropped at once.
"What?", Daemon fizzled and now her eyes searched for his by herself. "You wish to wed this idiotic cunt?"
The girl fearfully took a step back because she hadn't expected this kind of reaction from him. She had expected him to either advise her not to fight her father's choice and accept the match or support her in her desire. But not that he would insult Ser Harwin.
Ser Harwin… What a man he truly was. He had been by Maera's side for quite some time now and ever since Daemon had left for the stepstones the two of them had gotten to know each other better. That had been perhaps the only good thing that had happened during these three years. Ser Harwin had accompaigned her while she was out hunting, had guarded her door and had turned a blind eye when Maera had sneaked into her chambers late at night because she had forgotten the time while reading an ancient book in the library.
They had started to speak more frequently and then things developped into a friendship and a few months later Maera had understood that she fancied the young knight. He was gorgeous with long and thick brown hair, had a gentle and wide smile and was tall and strong like a real warrior. And the most important thing was, he understood her in ways that no one else was capable of. Long before Maera had thought that Daemon was the only one who could but after he had left she had yearned for that very thing again and had found it in Harwin.
She knew that it was foolish to think that she could actually marry him just like that. He was still a knight of the king's guard, sworn to protect her and her family but… Maera couldn't help but dream sometimes about what it would be like to wed him. And she had thought that from all people her beloved uncle would be able to at least understand her to some extent. Hadn't he been the one who was also a victim of her father's ongoing lectures about tradition and courtesy? She had thought that Daemon didn't give a damn about customs as well. Maera now stared at him with big eyes.
"Y-Yes. I… We get along very well."
Daemon scoffed. "The gods save you and your bad taste."
Her eyes glistened because why did he act that way? Why was he mocking her? Maera felt an anger growing inside of her and crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"Why are you speaking that way? Ser Harwin is a fine and honourable man who lives up to his duties and protects my father."
"An honourable man?", Daemon asked with lifted eyebrows, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You contradict yourself, little one. I don't think it's honourable to give up your vows to be intimate with the king's maiden daughter. But I may be wrong. What do I know about honour, after all?"
Her jaw dropped and her cheeks reddened with shame.
"H-He hasn't been intimate with me, uncle. I swear it to you. We've only talked and… and laughed together but n-never in my life would I… I would never let a man d-do… this with me b-before we get married."
Daemon chuckled quietly but it sounded evil and mean.
"I don't believe you. I only had to take a look at the two of you all comfortably talking in the yard today in the morrow. His eyes. He looked at you the way someone looks at a girl who has spread her legs for him."
Maera brought her hand over her mouth and tears welled in her eyes.
"How can you say something like that, uncle?"
But Daemon still wasn't done and observed his niece angrily. "I think you're a little whore. Who couldn't satisfy her profane desires and has let someone sully her before her wedding. Do you think some noble lord would marry someone like that?"
Maera was crying now and was in disbelief over her uncle's words.
"He didn't touch me, uncle, I swear it! Please, you have to believe me." She had her eyes widened and felt panick controlling her thoughts.
"I'd never – You know that I would never…"
But Daemon scoffed and ignored how desperate his niece felt. Instead his face tensed and Daemon grinded his teeth.
"You should feel ashamed of yourself. It's not fit for a young lady to throw herself at an anoited knight of the king's guard. Have I not taught you anything?"
Maera sobbed and grabbed her uncle's arm in an attempt to show him that she was telling the truth.
"Please uncle. Please, it wasn't like that. I only wanted to… He is a good friend."
But Daemon didn't pay any attention to her pleas and removed her hand from his arm.
"Shut up. You're a slut and I do hope you're going to reflect your disgusting behaviour."
With these words the rogue prince angrily flashed his eyes at her one last time and then turned around to leave a crying girl behind.
Bound By Blood
Being on your period was already a pain as it is, but accidentally binding yourself to a demon with a menstrual pad was a real cherry on top.
demon!Daemon Targaryen x Reader x bf!Aemond Targaryen | 2k+| cw: fem!reader, modern au, menstruation and its symptoms (duh), bloody depictions, crack fic, dumbass shenanigans, internet translated high Valyrian, typos, etc.
A/N: after reading @happilyhertale's period fic and @lady-phasma's period fic, i remembered a tumblr post i saw a long time ago about how napkins have really pretty designs for no reason cuz ur gonna get blood all over it anyway. as tumblr posts do, it spiraled and someone likened the designs to like a pentagram then someone was like u could accidentally summon a demon, thus this. i really did try to find it but alas i could not
"Lovie?"
"Yeah?"
I put my phone on loud speaker and place it on the side of the sink, "did I tell you to buy macadamia chocolates?"
"... no. I'll get you some."
"And something salty," I sit on the toilet and open my pad packet. I peel the red wrapper off.
"Mmm... crisps?"
"Yeah, the pink one."
"Alright. Anything else, love?"
I change the napkin on my underwear before replying, "mmm... oh! Please read the packaging. I want pads with wings, Aemond, with wings."
"Right. Copy, copy. With wings."
I pull my shorts up and flush the toilet, "thank you, love."
"Mmm. Love you. Bye."
"Bye, love. I love you."
The call ends and I wrap my used napkin in the wrapper of my new pad, rolling it up, and throwing it out. I grab my phone and walk back to my bed.
I huff and get under the sheets, petting the black cat asleep on top of it. Vhagar wags her tail once and I grab my laptop, continuing my binge session.
I wince when I feel a dull pain in my uterus. I pause my show and lean into my pillow, riding out the discomfort.
I moan and begin to heave. My eye twitches at the stabbing sensation. I slowly get out of bed, annoyed by the gush of blood I feel when I move. I make my way to my kitchen and grip on the counter as I prepare a kettle for some tea.
"Stop hating me cause I'm not pregnant," I hiss at my uterus as the pain continues.
I push my weight onto the counter top as I reach for a mug and a tea bag. I huff and screw my eyes. Once the pain subsides enough, I grab my kettle and turn, putting it on the stove. Once the fire is lit, I turn back to grab my mug and place the tea bag in my mug.
Suddenly, the room is thick, the atmosphere is heavy, and there is an inexplicable feeling of dread in my stomach. I feel my body warm and the hairs at the back of my neck raise, and it was not because of my period.
"Iksis ziry iā rūs jaelā?" Is it a baby you want?
I gasp and snap back, pulling my mug to my chest. My eyes widen and my heart leaps into my throat as I behold a towering figure covered in blood. Its body is barely contained in the room; its long neck coils downward to peer at me and its wings are cramped together behind itself. It's as though all the blood in my body drains.
The dragon-like creature chuckles deeply, his golden eyes sparkle, "gaoman jorrāelagon se yknagon hen zūgagon," I do love the smell of fear. It reaches out and delicately scratches its talons on my neck, "but I would not frighten you to death before completing our pact, devoted."
My body is frozen cold in fear as he pulls away. Slowly, its body morphs into a man. The reptilian features and glistening scales where replaced by long, silver hair and plump, smirking lips, all still drenched in blood. His expression mischievous and expectant.
"Ask of me, and see the beauty in thine blood offering to Daemon, The Rogue Prince."
Through barely a breath, in the most strained of voices, I mutter, "w h a t ?"
A rich chuckle bubbles out of his curved lips, "oh, I do loathe the coy and simple-minded. If you wish to amuse me, flatter me. Do not play dumb."
I slowly try to maneuver away from him, "I-" I whisper under sharp breaths, "I don't know what you mean-"
In a rush of either confidence or lunacy, I sprint away from him and run back into the bedroom. I scream and halt in my spot when I collide with the same being's chest.
I feel blood stick to me as I recoil and drop to the floor at the impact. The creature looks down on me and lifts his chin, "what's that then?"
Daemon points to the floor, causing me to look and see nothing but the panels.
Just then, Vhagar awakes and begins to go feral. She hisses loudly at the man, and I scramble to my feet, trying to get to her and calm her down, fearing he blood bathed being would kill her.
Remarkably, it seems I should actually do the opposite as the demon is deterred by Vhagar. He steps back and lowers his gaze. He chuckles dryly as I jump on the bed, going behind Vhagar.
"What is this trickery?"
"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"
He scoffs and I swear his eyes are set ablaze, "I am bound by my sigil, woman, and I smell the blood on it."
My face morphs into bewilderment, "I DID NOT MAKE A BLOOD SACRIFICE-"
"Where is your summoning circle then!" he demands.
Vhagar hisses at his tone, her fur prickling as Daemon steps forward. He stills and draws in a deep breath. I swear his eyes go red for a second.
He points again, this time at me, "your legs."
My eyes widen preternaturally.
"My blood altar is between your thighs."
Meanwhile, Aemond was on the bus when he received a call.
He picks it up, "hel-"
"THERE'S A-" he pulls his phone away from his ear, "-DEMON IN OUR HOME! AEMOND-"
Aemond knits his brows tightly in concern at the sound of sobbing. He pulls his groceries closer to his chest, "honey, what do me--"
"THERE'S A DEMON IN OUR- VHAGAR NO--"
Aemond's heart drops at the sound of the commotion from the other end of the call. He hears cat yowling and objects crashing. He stiffens and speaks as calmly as possible, "I'm coming home. I'm almost there. Can you hear me, I-" the call ends.
By the time he gets home, his defenses are up. The ruckus from the inside is audible from outside the apartment. He holds his groceries in one hand and opens the door, warily entering. He grabs the long purple umbrella by the rack and closes the door soundlessly. He stalks inside, clenching his jaw at the sudden silence.
He surveys the place and sees the mess, yet no soul was present. He places the groceries on the kitchen top and creeps into the bedroom.
The door was already open, but, still, there was no one.
He freezes when Vhagar hisses. He lifts his gaze upon the black, senior cat sat at the top of the closet, looking into space with her fur raised.
"Aemond?!"
Aemond lowers his gaze.
"NO, DON'T HURT HIM!" I scream from inside the closet.
Aemond grips the umbrella and looks around the room. Vhagar hisses again.
He looks at his cat then the closet door.
"AEMOND- NO-- I'M PULLING YOU IN-"
Without another word, I leap out of the closet and grab Aemond, yanking him inside. I immediately shut the doors and begin to hyperventilate.
"What's happening? What's going on?" he asks, clutching my cheeks.
I whine and grip his wrists in distress. I whisper, "Vhagar's keeping us safe."
Aemond's nostrils flare, "what's happening? What's wrong?"
I shake my head and shudder, "there's a demon--"
"You know I can hear you right?"
I squeal, making Aemond tense and tighten his grip on me. I hear Vhagar hiss from above the closet.
Without much thought, Aemond pushes the doors open and holds his umbrella like a weapon.
I scream and pull him back when I hear sinister laughtera, "AEMOND, NO!"
Aemond claims an offensive stance, ready to bat his umbrella at whomever was in front of him, and yet there was no one. My breath hitches as I anticipate Daemon to jump us both, but he doesn't.
With furrowed brows, the man looks over to me, "baby, there's no o-"
Aemond yelps as I rush out of the closet and drag him out of the bedroom with me. We make our way to the kitchen, and I immediately rummage through the groceries, grabbing the pack of pads.
"Honey, what was it exactly that you-" Aemond cuts himself off as he watches me run out of the room, heading to the bathroom.
Immediately, I pull my shorts down and replace my bloody pad. I stare at the menstrual blood on the white napkin, realizing only now that there was, in fact, a sigil of a three headed dragon on the surface.
"There is it."
I scream. I look up at the bloody Daemon staring back at me, smirking with crossed arms.
I hear Aemond run towards the bathroom door. He calls out my name in concern.
I rip my used napkin off my underwear and chuck it to the demon. I scream once more when he manifests beside me, avoiding my assault.
"Unsanitary," Daemon clicks his tongue.
Aemond bangs on the door, "what's going on? Do you need any help?"
I sidestep away from Daemon and hurriedly replace my pad.
Aemond calls out my name as he knocks.
Daemon turns to the door, lips curling in annoyance, "I will slay him if he enters."
My eyes widen. It was only then I realized there was a sword hanging upon his hip. I feel sick.
Aemonds sounds agitated, "I'm coming insi-"
"NO!" I rip my pants up and run to the door. I shove Aemond back the moment I can. I squeeze myself out of the small opening and I push him back until he finally repels me and grabs my arms. Aemond and I are in the kitchen by then.
He calls out my name and grabs my cheeks. His face is marked by worry.
I panic, "wait, where's Vhagar?"
"She's probably just-"
"DID HE KILL VHAGAR-"
"Look at me!"
I stare at him with wide, watery eyes. I whimper through a broken voice, "Vhagar was the only thing keeping me safe."
"From the demon?" Aemond asks carefully, swiping my tears with his thumbs.
"Please-" I choke out, "-believe me, I-"
"I believe you, darling," he strokes my hair. He pulls away and grabs the salt jar on the counter. He shows me the container before pouring some in his hand.
I raise my brows as he presents me the salt in his cupped palm.
Aemond speaks calmly, "if I see that fucker, I'll-"
"You'll what?"
Aemond shrieks and chucks the salt behind me. In the same terrified manner, I squeal and run behind Aemond.
The demon groans, "ao doru-borto qogralbar!" You stupid fuck!
Aemond pushes me behind him as he watches the blood covered man rub his eyes. He almost, out of instinct, chucked the whole jar at him, but he was glad he didn't. He pours a salt circle on the floor.
Aemond pulls me into his chest and begins to chant, "qrīdrughagon lēda ao!" Away with you!
Daemon looks up at us with a furious expression. His rage is quelled but when he sees the ground which we stood. His red eyes widen as he looks up at me, as if in disbelief of what he was seeing.
I tug on Aemond's shirt with agitation, "is this circle gonna keep us-"
"QRĪDRUGHAGON LĒDA AO!" Aemond shouts.
Daemon's eye twitches, "who is this imbecile you seek refuge in?"
"Don't answer it! Don't give him my name," Aemond says as he fishes something in his pocket.
"You act as though I know not your name is Aemond, imbecile."
"Aemond, I really think we-"
"Ignore him," says Aemond as he pulls out his phone.
Daemon chuckles darkly, "oh... how sweet you think such a thing is possible.
I cling tightly onto Aemond as he pulls out his phone. I whimper, "is now really the time?!"
"I'm calling Aegon," Aemond replies, placing his phone to his ear.
"What?!"
"He knows how to do an exorcism."
"?!?!?"
"You dare," Daemon yells, "think that I-"
"He was recruited in a cult once."
"-would be easily cast out by m-"
"QRĪDRUGHAGON LĒDA AO!"
Half-Blood Rivalry || D. Targaryen x oc
GIF by @mad-witch-moon DIVIDERS by @straywords
a/n: tysm for this request!!! anons please continue to send me requests pls!!! I hope you guys are happy for Catarina to play oc as Rhaella :) also please imagine that this takes place in ep 2. when rhaella is born is around the time daemon is banished for taking rhae to the brothel. rhaenyra hasn’t married laenor or has children yet.
The youngest child of Alicent Hightower and Viserys Targaryen was sweet Rhaella. When Rhaenyra first held the girl when she was only a babe, she had a strange feeling about her half-sister. As years went by and both girls no doubt got older, Rhaenyra could not seem to shake off the uneasy feelings she felt towards her youngest sister.
“Happy Name Day, sweet child” Alicent goes on her tippy toes to kiss her youngest and—anyone with eyes could see— favourite child. “Thank you, mother,” Rhaella kissed her cheek. It was then her father’s turn. Rhaella and Viserys had always had a complicated relationship, the two never seemed to see eye to eye, quite similar with her other siblings.
Rhaella and her siblings knew that their father didn’t favour them as much as he does with Rhaenyra. Nonetheless, Viserys was still her father and he cared for him.
“Happy name day, sister” Rhaenyra bursts through the doors of the throne room with a drunken smile. Everyone in the room stared at the platinum white haired Princess in shock. Her appearance was dishevelled and she reeked of alcohol. It was only morning.
“Are you quite alright Rhaenyra?” Alicent raises an eyebrow as she looks the Targaryen up and down. Rhaella lets out a scoff. Typical Rhaenyra. “Quite so, I wouldn’t dare miss seeing my dear sister on this special day” She raises a cup towards the younger who rolls her tongue against her cheek in annoyance.
Rhaella looks to Viserys, a wide grin on his face making her scoff. Rhaenyra somehow always seems to pull Rhaella’s buttons without even realising. In her opinion, she was a stuck up Princess that was never grateful of what was given to her.
Rhaella could not stand her older half-sister, maybe it was because of the fact that their father always placed Rhaenyra on a pedestal and could never do anything wrong in his eyes. Placing a fake smile on her pretty face, Rhaella speaks up. “Thank you Rhaenyra, your presence here means so much to me” She pops a grape in her mouth.
Otto lowly chuckles yet shakes his head lightly at his granddaughter’s tone. There was no denying that out of his four grandchildren, Rhaella too was his favourite. The young Targaryen was very much like him in many ways, even better in some aspects you could say.
There was silence at the table for a bit as they all ate, when all of a sudden, the doors once again opened. This time, Ser Harrold walked in. “Your Grace, he’s back” Was all the kingsguard said. Rhaella and her siblings stop chewing their food and look to their father.
Viserys wore a shocked face before standing up quickly and walking away. Rhaella looks to her mother in confusion as she gives her a sad look and rubs her arm. “Father, where are you going?” The young Targaryen turns in her seat as she watches him walk away. What even stung the young girl was the fact that he didn’t respond.
“Daemon’s back” Rhaenyra says to herself with wide eyes. “Don’t be silly, uncle Daemon has not returned to court in how many years?” Aegon questions as Rhaella replies, “Since I was a babe” She shrugs. “But who else would Ser Harrold have referred to? Did you see father’s face,” She humorously scoffs, “That was Daemon alright” Rhaenyra shrugs.
“Enough talk about your uncle. It is Rhaella’s name day and I want you all behaved for her birthday celebrations today” Alicent sternly speaks before continuing to eat. The Targaryen siblings all give each other one final look before going back to their meal.
-
It was the night of Rhaella's name day where a huge feast was held. Alicent demanded the celebration to be extravagant for her favourite child. You could have mistaken the event as the King's name day.
Rhaella sat beside her mother and her siblings beside her, Rhaenyra on Viserys' side. When her father stood up to announce a speech, he was interrupted by a figure walking into the throne room.
It was no one other than Daemon. Young Rhaella had not seen him all day, him showing up there was her first time seeing him really as she could not recall him when she was a born.
Of course, the Targaryen often heard stories about her uncle. He held a bad reputation and yet everytime anyone would speak of him, Rhaella always found herself wanting to hear more about her uncle.
He sauntered in with a smirk on his face. "Brother, I thought you weren't going to come" Viserys puts a smile on his face as Daemon stands in front of the table, his hands clasped together. Rhaella could have sworn she saw a glint of mischievous in his eyes.
She looks up towards her father, than to her half-sister. Rhaenyra had a look on her face that Rhaella couldn't quite fathom out. "And miss my dear nieces' birthday celebration? How could I do that to Rhaenrya" Alicent gasps in disbelief and Aemond chuckles under his breath, a kick under the table from Otto shut him up.
"I think your mistaken dear uncle, it is not Rhaenyra you should be wishing a happy birthday, but me," Rhaella irked, crossing her arms. Daemon's eyes move to her. She watched him study her before a grin makes it to his lips. "Apologies...." He trails off, "Rhaella." "My brother failed to mention which niece of mine was celebrating. After all, I have little memory of his children before I left."
Rhaella nods her head politely, he was offered a seat at the end of the table near Rhaenyra. She couldn't help but notice her half-sisters' wanting eyes to Daemon. The young Targaryen knew of what had happened when she was born. In terms of Daemon and Rhaenyra.
But she did not expect her to still long for her uncle, after all, Daemon was gone for nearly 20 years. The whole time as they all feasted, Rhaella felt eyes burning into her and everytime she looked, Daemon shamelessly stares with a smirk on his face.
"I think I would like to dance," Rhaella says before standing up and making her way to her sworn knight, Ser Harwin. "A dance Ser Harwin?" The princess looks up at him with a smile. "It is my pleasure, princess" He smiles back as they start to dance, not knowing a certain Targaryen's eyes were fixated on the two the entire time.
"Your daughter is quite pleasing to look at, Alicent" Daemon chuckles to himself, his eyes still not leaving Rhaella. Alicent nearly choked on her drink as she glares at him. "My sister is nearly half my age uncle!" Rhaenyra laughs.
"Mhm, a shame indeed" He mutters as he taps his fingers on the table. Rhaenyra stares at her uncle in disbelief. The princess opens her mouth but shuts it again when Daemon stands up and makes his way through the crowd to where Rhaella and Ser Harwin were dancing.
"Might I have this dance, princess?" Daemon whispers against her ears as she breathed heavily from dancing. Rhaella gives a small nod to Harwin as he backs off and now dances with Daemon. "You know, you've grown quite alot," He starts off. "Thank you for pointing the obvious uncle," She rolls her eyes playfully, "Into such a, beautiful woman" Daemon finishes.
Rhaella smiles, "Thank you, I assume-" She was cut off by Rhaenyra who taps her shoulder, "Can I steal our dear uncle, sister?" She questions as she doesn't even bother looking at Rhaella, only Dameon.
The young Targaryen looks between the two before nodding her head. She walks away not before locking eyes with her uncle before his gaze floats back to Rhaenyra. "Did you just get told to bugger off, sister?" Aegon laughs as Rhaella approaches the table and smacks his head. "Ow!" He groans, rubbing his head. Alicent shoots a look to the eldest.
"I believe our dear Rhaenyra is still infatuated with Daemon" Rhaella tilts her head. "Not surprised, the way she was eyeing him the whole time, I thought she'd eat uncle on the spot" Halaena says concerned as Rhaella and her brothers laughed loudly. Deep down, Rhaella couldn't push aside a strange feeling as she watched her sister and her uncle dancing and laughing together.
-
“Do you jest, sister?” Rhaella’s mouth hangs open at Rhaenyra’s idea that she had created in her head. “What? Daemon and I are made for each other. We have blood of the dragons coursing through us. Not to forget, he wanted me before he was banished by Father” She paces back and forth in her room.
The young Targaryen only blinked a few times before laughing. Rhaenyra glares at her younger sister. “S-sorry,” Rhaella wipes the tears that escaped from laughter, “Do you still think uncle longs for you? Forgive me for saying this Rhaenyra, but you are no longer a maiden.” Rhaella tilts her head.
“Daemon might have lusted over you at one point but yet again, he did take you to that brothel and just left you there. And now he’s back after what? twenty years and you still think he has his eyes on you?” Rhaella’s jabs stung the elder. Her words were like knives to her heart.
“And what do you suppose? That he’s got eyes for you now?” Rhaenyra raises an eyebrow at the younger. A small smirk forms on Rhaella’s lips, “Time will tell” “Don’t tell me you like Daemon, Rhaella. You just practically met him!” Rhaenyra’s voice loudens. To piss her even more, Rhaella simply shrugged with a playful smile.
“Daemon would make a dutiful Husband wouldn’t he? All that experience and….. well you know. Plus, mother has been pestering me about marriage. What better way to honour her wishes of me staying close to home then marrying our deal uncle?” Rhaenyra scoffs at her half-sister. “Daemon will never want you, you wouldn’t even dare to approach him with those silly intentions-“
Rhaella stands up and storms to her older, and still slightly taller, sister. “Watch me dear sister. Watch me marry Daemon in our old valyrian ways and bear his children. Watch me live a life you only ever got to dream of.” She calmy says yet still, venom laced her words.
Rhaenyra stood still in shock at her sister’s words before opening her mouth, “You are a horrid person.” She said through gritted teeth. Rhaella only wickedly smiles before turning around and walking off. As soon as the door slammed shut, Rhaenyra grabbed the closest object which was a vase and aimed it at the door, shards flying everywhere.
Rhaella stood outside the door with a proud smirk on her face. It was finally time to put her older sister into her own place. She walked through the hallways of her home before she bumped into something hard. “Watch where-“ Rhaella shuts her mouth as she’s met with his figure. “you’re going..” She trails as he smiles at her.
“Rhaenyra is still in her bedchambers” She mumbles massaging her head. Before she could move to the side to leave, he takes ahold of her forearm. “It is not your sister I wish to see but you, princess”
“What could you possibly want to see me for, uncle?” She spoke, her arms folded and her head slightly tilted. “Am I not allowed to spend some time with my niece? After all, I know nothing of you” He says, his eyes wandering nowhere near her face.
Rhaella smirked. She hummed before replying. “I’ve always wanted to her your stories come from you, and more possibly-“ She was cut off by him, “You’ve heard about me and my stories?” He questions.
Rhaella playfully rolls her eyes, “Don’t flatter yourself uncle, your stories are the only entertaining thing to listen to around here” She chuckles. Daemon laughs, “Might you like to accompany Caraxes and I for a ride?” He suggests with smug smile.
~
1 month later…
“Where’s Daemon and Rhaella?” Rhaenyra looks around the table noticing their absent once again at the breakfast table. “Didn’t you hear, sister? Daemon’s taking Rhaella to Dragonstone today for a few months” Halaena says with a sweet smile as Rhaenyra’s jaw hangs open.
“D-Daemon’s taking Rhaella away? To Dragonstone?” She stutters as she processes what was happening. Dragonstone was supposed to be for her and Daemons. Not Rhaellas’.
“Why hasn’t anyone thought to tell me this?” She bangs her hand on the table in frustration. “I didn’t think it would concern you Princess, The Prince and Princess simply want to get to know each other more” Alicent speaks up.
“Get to know each other more? I don’t see why they can’t do that here, why must they be at Dragonstone. Father! Did you approve of this?” She looks to Viserys in disbelief. “My child, these are Daemon’s wishes. And besides, it is finally time that Rhaella chooses a Husband”
“A husband.” The princess scoffs as everyone on the table watch her, anticipating what was going to happen next. “I wanted Daemon to be my husband at her age and what did you do?! You banished him! Why does my whore of a sister get to do what ever she pleases!” Rhaenyra stands up in her seat as does Alicent. They could have sworn they saw steam leave her ears.
“How dare you call your sister that!” Viserys too stands up and hits his hand on the table loudly. “Rhaella is of age and you were not. You were the heir at the time and choosing Daemon as King consort? The realm would have been up in flames by now! My daughter. Your sister! Needs a husband sooner than later. Daemon is content with his position. Those twenty years where ever he was did him some good. Rhaella needs someone like him to confide to”
Viserys sits back down with a sigh, Rhaenyra only stood there in disbelief, shock and hatred for her half sister. Without uttering another word, she excused herself from the table and left. “She’s lost her mind” Alicent shakes her head.
Rhaenyra stormed out of the castle and into the dragon pit. She immediately paused as she witnessed Rhaella and Daemon in each other’s arms as they pat Caraxes. Rhaenyra was never able to do that the blood wyrm, he just never seemed to accept her. But Rhaella on the other hand.
Before she was could storm closer to the two a voice stops her. “Depriving your own sister of happiness?” Otto tempts her, “Just look at how happy they look with each other. I’ve never seen Daemon smile so much, have you?”
“He smiled plenty with me before” She mutters. “Ah there it is, before.” Rhaenyra glares at Otto. “Before he liked you, now he wishes to runaway with my granddaughter and marry her.” “H-he’s not marrying her” She chuckles to herself.
“Oh but he is my dear, he even asked for the King and Queen’s blessing. Your sister, much more youthful, smarter-“ “What are you trying to do?” The princess says desperately, “Stay away from them. Your sister is perfect for him and deserves happiness. Don’t let that childish dream of yours get into the road of them being happy. He’s obviously moved on and so should you Princess” Otto sternly speaks as the two of them look to the couple.
“I lost him once. Now I just lost him again,” The Princess shed a tear as she watched her half-sister get everything she ever hoped and dreamed of.
Bad Batch/His Dark Materials AU!
Here’s The Batch with their daemons! Be warned I have so many thoughts behind this AU. So leave now if you don’t want to read my absolute essay of a lore dump.
My idea for this AU is that all the clones tend to have dogs daemons, both in line with the whole ‘clones are the same’ idea and ‘dogs who follow orders’ stereotype, but also this idea in this universe that the ‘Vode’ are a “pack” of sorts. Generally the clones’ daemons are dog breeds with pointy ears. And battalions usually get made up of clones with same dog breeds as daemons (the 501st has mostly huskies/malamutes and the 212th has mostly German Shepards/Belgian Malanois for example). All of this to say, Clone Force 99 stands out even more in this AU because of their daemons. “Regs” who have daemons that deviate from the ‘normal’ type of daemon clones’ have, get terminated. Though for clones to have daemons that settle into something ‘abnormal’ is rare to begin with. So The Bad Batch having not-dog daemons AND being allowed to live is kinda the main reason of tension between The Batch and the ‘Regs’.
Some more details about TBB in this AU:
Because Ghost is albino, she has sensitive eyes and bad vision in general. Which is an interesting duality to Crosshair’s exceptional eyesight.
All through out s1-3 of TBB I imagine Omega’s daemon (Delta) hasn’t settled, and she shifts between a bird of prey and different dogs breeds. And Delta often will shift into the same animal as the other Batchers’ daemons when interacting with them. It’s not until Omega escapes Tantis with Crosshair that Delta settles into a Timber Wolf.
Echo’s daemon (Mimic) was originally a grey husky, but after being captured by techno Union she starts to shift into different dog breeds. This is very unparalleled, it’s very rare for daemons to shift again after they originally settle. And it’s NEVER happened to a clone before. Its not until Echo joins The Bad Batch that Mimic settles again as an Australian Cattle Dog. Though it takes even longer than that for Echo and Mimic to become comfortable with each other again.
