Which are the preferred personal vehicles of 47, Diana, Lucas and Olivia?
I know that 47 has access to the hearse in Freelancer and while that is his brand of humor, I don't see him using it much.
I bet Lucas had a bike he drove recklessly after he escaped from the institute (misquoting B99's Hitchcock, he has nothing left to live for and drives like it). But after he got Olivia, he upgraded to a car. But I can't decide if it's funnier if he goes directly to a football mom suv or if he drives something like a muscle car and only when someone makes an offhand comment on its safety, he switches to the suv. (Hi Mr Grey. Olivia is settling in nicely. Is it true you drove her in an Impala? My husband has one as his project car and those safety ratings are terrible, I would never pick up my kids in one. .......Haha, of coirse I wouldn't either, my car's at the garage nd this is just a rental........fuck).
Diana probably has a landrover, reinforced like a small tank.
I bet Olivia drives a cute hybrid or electrical car.
47.....sleek Italian sports car? In black, of course.
oh boy how I LOVE that question! Honestly, I've been thinking about that quite a lot recently, I don't even know why, but it crossed my mind
And I like your headcanon, which I absolutely agree with! They probably all have several cars, they are rich, they can drive whatever they want. But there are one or two cars that I associate with them…
I think 47 loves cars, especially old cars. He certainly has a penchant for spending his money on classics. But an everyday car? Next to his many sports cars (e.g. Lamborghini Aventador)? Probably a rich (old) person one like a Porsche Panamera (in red because it's probably his favourite colour, I mean his tie is always red):

But I think he prefers to drive his classics. Unfortunately I don't know much about them, but he seems to love this black one in Freelancer a lot!
I can well imagine Diana in a sleek little sports car. She certainly has to get around a lot and quickly. Power woman style (but still reinforced like a small tank, as you say. She knows her enemies and how to protect herself from them). I think Diana has a lead foot on the highway (that's what we say in Germany when you drive way too fast) So why not an Audi R8 in blue? Her little show-off car

47 loves driving in it. But not so much when Diana is at the wheel (vroom vroom)
Ohhh Olivia, our cute little mouse, must have been driving around in a junk car for many years. But she values environmental protection, so she got herself a small, affordable electric car recently (after the old car died). Everyone thinks the car is ugly, but she loves her green box a lot, her Honda e:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2c4ebefd89a8072a837aee7f11731f08/8c0272d93e0100ea-ba/s540x810/64fb9fcf5c4db9d680b14bd41823d607bb751885.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/55b8f8ba025237c76f6c214fc2a3077b/8c0272d93e0100ea-2c/s540x810/d2985f066238a70a80768690f014a5c4664fd889.jpg)
(this car is so ugly, it's insane)
And Lucas. Oh, he probably sees cars purely as a commodity. And yes, he certainly made sure to drive a decent car in Olivia's school days so that no one would be suspicious, but I think he has several cars (despite being against capitalism). One for missions, where you get a lot in, get through every terrain, etc., probably a Dodge Ram 1500:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f2d4563586383cb6e30d2ca2713add03/8c0272d93e0100ea-88/s540x810/bf24183f5555fe40c98808a03adf3df697cc0604.jpg)

(I don't know much about American cars, but here in Europe these things are way too big for our streets and are more used by hunters or forestry workers because you can pack a lot onto the loading area)
He probably has a small SUV for everyday use (in the city), because the weapons have to go somewhere, right? A Dacia Duster is probably something for him - relatively cheap, yet robust, not a posh car, just an SUV:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/67f4ed6de64bc23ecc08cb7e9f718239/8c0272d93e0100ea-c8/s540x810/fd65473f41c84238e771be68bbded23685c4fae1.webp)
(I'm starting to get the feeling that I am going to sell you a few cars)
BUT in the depths of his garage in Berlin he has his greatest treasure, his old Opel Corsa B in mint green:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1acd10f42dc8b0ac62fe8ea89954ec2f/8c0272d93e0100ea-10/s500x750/9fe61ad9fa5daaf6644fb9c5433806a583de2520.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/95f63f3fb5dd38501b60c67eeed31af8/8c0272d93e0100ea-a5/s540x810/490a599929a56fc51f899643e109c5acaf2a1a0f.jpg)
This thing has seen a lot and is 30 years old. All doors except the driver's door can only be opened from the inside, the boot can no longer be locked properly and when you hit the gas pedal, the car only gets louder and not faster. Air conditioning: Roll down the windows manually. But he loves it with all his heart and enjoys driving around Berlin at weekends to get a Döner at his favourite Döner stand 💘
(47 only drives with Lucas in absolute emergencies in this car, which sometimes makes strange noises and the lack of insulation makes it feel like your arse is about to hit the road. 140 km/h (around 85 mph) with this car is like a death sentence, but Lucas has fun)
#Hitman aks#as you can see I mostly know European cars I'm sorry#but since Lucas (in my mind) lived in Berlin for a few years he can drive a German car#and for me 47 is a bit of a boomer when it comes to cars#only mums who drop their kids off at kindergarten or old men drive porsches here lmao#fun fact: a friend of mine still drives a 1993 opel corsa in mint green and it's an adventure every time#will we get to our destination or will the car give up before then? Who knows#my friend drives 140 on the autobahn regardless of the sounds it makes#and i love it

Miljaar, dat was me ontgaan. Gelukkig geen dag eerder want dan had ik letterlijk de boot gemist. Nu hebben we morgen een dag over, wat zullen we dan gaan doen? Ik heb het gevoel dat ik IJsland uit heb. Morgen dus een vrije dag.

Europe and the U.S. Share a Lot, Except When It Comes to Cars
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d7ed4897fd6b2e721321b21b5abb958a/11a8f84921a97c10-8b/s540x810/df56d5ad9a8514a832d75280bdafe52d4dac7d7c.jpg)
The 2020 Geneva International Motor Show is over before it began. A victim of Covid-19, manufacturers have retooled to unveil new releases “digitally.” We Americans may shrug our shoulders because unlike viruses, many European cars and brands can’t cross continents.Sure, the new Kia Sorento, Volkswagen Golf GTI and Mercedes E-Class that were scheduled to debut on the Geneva show floor will be coming to America, as will the BMW i4 electric sedan that was to be shown as a concept. But the new Seat Leon hatchback and Renault Captur Hybrid will be no-shows here in the United States. There are many reasons there will be no Dacia Dusters in Delaware driveways.First off, Americans are not starved for choices. As the second-largest automotive market in the world after China, the United States has dozens of brands to browse.“As attractive as the U.S. market is, it’s saturated,” said Stephanie Brinley, principal analyst for IHS Markit. “In the States, consumers are confused with all of the choices; it can be overwhelming.”True enough. In the past 25 years or so, Suzuki, Daewoo and Daihatsu have left our shores. Scion, Geo, Saab, Eagle, Plymouth, Mercury, Saturn, Pontiac and Oldsmobile have joined Studebaker on that great off ramp. For some European brands, coming to the United States means new dealerships and parts distribution. That’s expensive. Vehicles must pass our government emissions, safety and lighting requirements. That’s very expensive. And how does a company market an expensive product to consumers who are loyal to existing brands? That’s bottomless-money-pit expensive.Even with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ existing network of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep franchisees, it has struggled to get Americans to fully embrace the Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands. A newcomer to the U.S. market would need a Caddy full of euros to introduce a brand. And by Caddy, I mean the Volkswagen Caddy, which is a small van used for deliveries and family hauling. And no, we don’t get it either.People of each continent use their vehicles differently. “Americans like large vehicles and S.U.V.s that do 100 percent of everything,” Ms. Brinley of IHS said. “We plan for the most extreme-use case, while Europeans are more comfortable squeezing things into a small space.”While traveling in Slovenia recently, I met the musician and Wudisban Records executive Marko Kocjan, known as Emkej, who drives a Skoda Octavia wagon, a VW product the size of the Golf SportWagen (that just left our market because of sluggish sales). In Ljubljana, Slovenia, the Octavia is a popular, though larger, choice.“Me and my fiancée, Ajda Perme, came to the conclusion we needed a safer car and wanted extra room in the back for snowboarding and transporting music equipment to concerts. I love its space.”American musicians would probably find the Octavia wagon far too small to haul keyboards, guitars, drums and amps. But like many European buyers, Mr. Kocjan makes the Skoda work.“It is a car we can afford, plus the tax rate and fuel costs are in our range,” he said. Many European countries tax vehicles on size, weight, engine size and fuel consumption at a far higher rate than our states. So while there’s a more powerful 2-liter engine, Mr. Kocjan’s Octavia is driven by the smaller, more efficient 1.6-liter diesel with a five-speed manual transmission (rowing your own gears is much more popular in Europe).Americans would find that powertrain pokey and inconvenient. It might be more appealing to Missourians — who pay around $2 per gallon, according to AAA — if they had to pay triple the price. That’s what Italians pay when filling up. You’re more likely to see Bigfoot sipping espresso there than a thirsty Chevrolet Tahoe. And size matters to both continents, just not in the same way. No one needs to point out that America likes its trucks. Ford’s F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle (not just pickup truck) in America for over 30 years, but it is not officially sold in Europe. With low fuel prices, we’re more likely to pick something larger and more comfortable to cover that ground. “We have a lot more room to spread out,” said Ray Telang, U.S. automotive leader for PricewaterhouseCoopers. “The U.S. market is filled with buyers who value size, they want S.U.V.s. The footprint of the U.S. has more rural areas. We are not as constrained by space.“The European buyer drives narrower roads, pays a lot more for fuel and has to find a place to store the car in more crowded cities. Smaller works better there.”But Mr. Telang also said the tastes were merging a bit. “As crossovers become more fuel efficient, the demand is accelerating in Western Europe, just not to the same level as in the U.S.”Hatchbacks and wagons have always been popular choices overseas, and it can be argued those are close cousins to crossovers when it comes to usability and practicality.Generally, European S.U.V.s are smaller than three-row models such as the Chevy Traverse, Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander that we buy in droves. Ford is a popular brand in Europe, but there are few Explorers there. And you will see far more Jeep Renegades overseas than Wranglers. The huge VW Atlas that’s built in Chattanooga, Tenn., has been rebadged the Teramont in many foreign markets. And even though VW makes the midsize pickup Amarok, it’s not sold in our truck-loving country. And then there’s design. In the home of the brave, we’re timid when it comes to styling. Our roads are crammed with Honda Accords, Toyota Camrys and Nissan Rogues that roll with safe designs. We would rather be seen in a Pontiac Aztek than the Fiat Multipla, which is best described as the only transportation device with a muffin top. A Citroën Berlingo would be roomy enough for our market, but the sheet metal would probably be ostracized.Europeans are often willing to try different things, like the old three-wheeled BMW Isetta and Reliant Robin. The elfin Smart car made a noble stab at our market, but is leaving it while remaining in Europe. The oddly cladded flanks of Citroen’s C4 Cactus crossover would probably not generate much U.S. interest. We don’t see Vauxhall or Opel cars circling cul-de-sacs, but the best of Europe’s automotive industries have influenced our cars in many ways. Volvo and Saab pioneered many safety technologies we now take for granted. BMW fundamentally changed the way cars performed with firm but comfortable suspensions. It forced Cadillac (which has a minor presence overseas) to abandon its soft floaty ride for a much crisper dynamic. Americans wouldn’t rule out Peugeots or Skodas because of the way they drive. On my last visit to Europe, I enjoyed the dynamics of a rental Renault Clio. The small four-door hatchback was comfortable on the highway and attacked curves with spunk. The small engine did not pack much punch, but I appreciated its efficiency after pulling into gas stations with fuel prices at $1.45 a liter. Yeah, remember, there are nearly four of those in a gallon. It’s human nature to desire forbidden fruit, but maybe it’s best we stick to what we have. Automakers know their markets very well.Mr. Kocjan of Slovenia said: “I wanted a Cadillac Escalade when I was a kid, but now I see how big they are and I don’t know. I would love to have a Mustang … for a few days.”Years ago, an Opel Insignia wagon cruising through Rome caught my wife’s eye. She was tempted to buy when the stylish machine ended up stateside rebadged as the Buick Regal TourX, but she did not pull the trigger. That’s what counts. After just a few years it’s been discontinued, partly because of, you guessed it, lack of sales. Read the full article

Forbidden Fruit Cars of the 2019 Geneva Motor Show
The Geneva Motor Show is a feast for the eyes, not only in terms of the improbably expensive hypercars from brands you’ve never heard of, but also for the mass-market machinery that is inexplicably not for U.S. sale.
Consider this your window-shopping excursion down dreamer’s lane for cars that you might see on the road on a European vacation, or perhaps in a fever dream come true if enough chips fall into place.
Toyota Corolla Trek Hybrid Wagon
“No wagons for America!” we imagine a product planner barking in a stifling-hot Nagoya boardroom. “If they want one, put them in a RAV4!” Which is too bad, because the Corolla wagon is a looker. What’s more, it comes with a choice of 1.8-liter or 2.0-liter self-charging hybrid engines—which Prius-beating mileage. It’s not quick, either 11.1 or 8.1 seconds from 0 to 60, but the sharp looks make it appear quicker.
Citroën C5 AirCross
If Subaru got down with its funky side, it might create a clunky-cool compact crossover like this Citroën. Sure, it’s fascia is a bit Honda CR-V (steal from the best, right?), but it has good second-row space for your friends and plenty of room for cargo.
Peugeot e-Legend Concept
You may pronounce it “Camaireaux.” This sporty coupe borrows more than a few lines from Chevy’s muscle car, but in its own Gallic way that also harks to its iconic 504 Coupé (dig the French-blue memory-foam seats). Yes, this sleek electric two-door was first unveiled at the Paris Motor Show back in October, but it requires another look because Peugeot subsequently said the brand is returning to U.S. shores. Attention, Monsieur Tavares, please make this car your flagship.
Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 4
While talking about the coming French invasion of America, we can theorize that more folks would be interested in this interpretation of the anonymous crossover. Although the exterior design is cool enough, the real magic is inside. The center-stack control actuators resemble piano keys. The wood inlay resembles distressed driftwood and sweeps throughout the dashboard as well as the front and rear doors. Its lines are angular, octagonal, and futuristic—which is proper visual communication for a 300-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain with a manufacturer-claimed 31-mile battery-only range and an eMPG around 107. If you think the Volvo XC40 is cool, re-set your cool meter.
Renault Clio
Shared on the small-car platform with Nissan and Mitsubishi, the redesigned Clio is a Versa that went to finishing school. Whereas the Versa screams downmarket rental car, the Clio shows that small doesn’t have to mean cheap. From the digitized instrument panel and iPad-sized center stack infotainment system, to the soft-cushion control buttons, swings, and rheostats, the Clio is the Versa that Nissan should make.
Dacia Duster
Whatever happened to the inexpensive, go-anywhere SUV? With the departure of the Nissan Xterra, and the price appreciation of the Jeep Wrangler, there’s an opening for an economical “real” SUV sold to people who don’t mind that the interior looks ripped from a 1990s parts bin. Built by Renault’s Romania-based budget brand, the Duster is a proper 4×4 with a differential lock and hill descent control. Probably a bit wheezy for American roads, the Duster offers a 1.3-liter gasoline turbo generating 148 hp and 184 lb-ft in its top trim. But the British press has raved about it, and with a price point that translates into the mid-$20,000 range, it could be a bargain.
Suzuki Jimny
Ah, poor Suzuki. It couldn’t hang on in the U.S. market, especially as its Vitara now resembles a Range Rover Evoque on a budget. But even if Suzuki had stuck it out, it’s a long shot that its Jimny micro-SUV would have made it here. Its wee 1.5-liter engine puts out a meager 102 hp and 96 lb-ft, with a top speed of 86 mph. And its interior is a bit Playskool. But it has a legitimate 4H/4L transfer case. And geez is it ever cute.
Honda e Prototype
How many e’s are there in “Squeeeee!” Five seems about right for this huggable puppy of an electric vehicle. Angular in shape, but with soft corners and a front fascia that appears bemused at the world, the Honda e Prototype sadly has that sub-150-mile battery range that dooms it to be a city car for Japan and Europe. Inside, there’s a retro-futuristic touch of an entire IP comprised of screens, while wood inlay adds a touch of mid-century-modern style.
SsangYong Korando
If you let VW design the front, Nissan the back, and Kia the interior, this is what you’d get from this new five-seat midsize crossover. It has a bit of a parts-bin feel, but boasts a roomy second row for your leggy adolescent kids. If it can carry a price-value equation against ostensibly more expensive foes like the Honda Passport, the Korando could make a dent—if it ever gets to America.
Seat el-Born Concept
Could this be the transformation of the crossover? A people hauler that’s not a SUV, CUV, wagon, hatchback, or micro-van, this visionary five-seater could be the shape of things to come. The etched C-pillar graphics, reimagined flying roof, and stubby IP and center console screens are all innovative design transformations. There’s a monstrous central storage cubby and a huge back seat … all thanks to sharing VW’s stellar MEB electric-vehicle architecture meant for Europe’s narrow city streets. Hardly a concept, it should reach Seat dealers in 2020 with 261 miles of range on the WLTP cycle.
Skoda Kamiq
Picture an Audi Q3, but $15,000 cheaper. That’s Skoda for you. It’s the perfect recipe for those who want premium feel on a budget. Granted, its undersized engine offerings would be a bit aired-out on American roads, but we could swap in VW’s 1.4-liter turbo-four and be fine. Interior instruments, gauges, and controls have the look and feel of analog-era Audi—a design that has yet to go out of style. Despite its tidy size, the Kamiq has a generous back seat that fits a six-footer.
Nobe
Still just a prototype, this Estonian-made three-wheeled electric vehicle has the flair of a ‘60s-era Alfa Romeo Giulietta front and boattail Spider rear, while the inside is go-for-a-picnic charming. But it carries the modernity of a lithium-ion battery pack. As a three-wheeler, it will be graded as a motorcycle, not a car (including not having to pass U.S. crash standards, hmm). Nobe is still in startup mode, but if you want to get in on the ground floor, they’re launching a Kickstarter in April. Just remember, three-wheeled transport hasn’t exactly taken off in past iterations—and this one is target-priced at an eye-watering $40,000.

What was the worst rental/loaner car you or someone you know has ever received? via /r/cars
What was the worst rental/loaner car you or someone you know has ever received?
Usually when it comes to rental cars, I enjoy getting to drive something different once in a while, even if it's just a bland econobox. However, there's the Renault Kangoo that we rented in Morocco back in 2013 that comes to mind. It had no A/C. Now, that was fine for short trips through the city, when it was cool in the night, but when we took a 2-hour trip to Marrakesh with temperatures well over 100 degrees, on roads that were mainly desert, that thing was unbearable. I didn't drive it, so I can't say if it's performance was good or not, but the A/C, or lack thereof, was a killer. Later in the trip we replaced it with a , Dacia Duster (ours was in the color "Khaki") which had A/C and looked better. So, what was the worst rental or loaner car you or someone you know has ever received and why'd it earn that dubious title in your mind?
