no solo perdiste a alguien.
No vives, no avanzas.

She was celebrated on June 3rd by her priests called Bellonarii to prepare blood sacrifices they would wound their arms and legs. On March 24th, the Days of Blood is performed (dies sanguines) which were pretty violent way of worship of the goddess which is explicit but all I say it involves flogging hence the whip symbolism. I am not going to go into detail I don’t even know that’s allowed but if you are curious please do take the time of research the rites for historical context. But please for all that is holy PLEASE DO NOT RENACT THESE RITES ITS VERY DANGEROUS AND OUTRIGHT EXTREMELY HORRIBLE if you are sensitive to self harming or blood then please do be careful when researching this topic. If you wish to worship Bellona THERE ARE OTHER ACCEPTABLE WAYS OF WORSHIPPING HER WITHOUT HARMING YOURSELF. I just needed to address that this post is just for education purposes.
General Information
Lady Bellona was the Roman goddess of Warfare and bloodlust. Indigenous to Italic tribes of Italian pennisula, she is said to be linked with the ancient Sabine Goddess Neiro (War goddess of Valor). Her name is derived from Duellum (War, Warfare) but also Bellum (Valor in war).
Her temple was established in Rome around 296 BCE during the war with Etruscans and Samnites by Appius Claudius. They hung shields on walls in the temple dedicated to the goddess. The temple was a place where foreign ambassadors would go for safe keeping, victorious generals to meet the seneators after a successful campaign.
To declare war on an enemy, the respected priest of diplomacy would throw a Javelin onto the opponent’s land as a declaration of open war. She had shrines and temples was worshipped throughout the Roman Empire however due to her violent nature she was not often worshipped openly or often. It is said that she is the Sister-Wife to Mars, she is identified with the war goddess Enyo. She went to war with Discordia, Furies, and Stife to put terror within her enemies.

Goddess Bellona
Bellona is both a mother and a battle Goddess, being the female equivalent of Mars with a distinct diplomatic twist. Those who call upon Bellona receive strategy, tactfulness and a keen sense of how to handle explosive situations effectively.
Also called: Bellola, Duellona (from an earlier Latin word for war, duellum)

DUELLUM : combats de coqs. 1906.

Quote
Then stand, Alexander. Weehawken. Dawn. Guns. Drawn. You’re on.
Lin-Manuel Miranda
Duellum - duo bellum - is where the phrase war of two came from. Duels came from medieval contests of a pair of two knights in Europe. They probably originated as early as the sixth century C.E. Part of this was that it was a way of dealing with conflicts when the courts did not settle things - this was notorious in Medieval Europe.
By 1804 honor was about all Burr and Hamilton each had left and they both took insults to their honor very seriously - most 18th and 19th century men of a certain class would have. Both of them had plenty of lurid tales in the media that surrounded them, and they both were on the brink of financial ruin. They had grown extra sensitive to attacks as they grew older, things they might have brushed off a decade before incensed them now - they angered more easily, things touched them more deeply. But Hamilton most likely did not want to kill to defend honor, while Burr might very well have - having been in duels before..
As brilliant as Hamilton may have been, he did make rash decisions that could affect his life for long afterwards - they way he left the army, writing the Reynolds pamphlet, joining this duel. He could be thoughtful - or tied between the two aspects of who he was. Hamilton’s inability to apologize, inability to keep thoughts about Burr to himself, aggravated Burr to no end. He might have been able to prevent the duel from happening - but he did not.
Sources: the following sources were used - the collected letters/writings of Alexander Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton the Revolution, Ron Chernow’s biography of Hamilton, The Intimate Life of Alexander Hamilton by Allan McLane Hamilton, Hamilton by Richard Syllia, and Charles Cerami’s book called Young Patriots. In addition, War of Two by John Sedgwick and Washington and Hamilton by Tony Williams were used throughout.

Have a picture of my RP OC Zoey Wright - powerful mage and ex lawyer. She’s wearing her duellum dress - the duellum is a high scale event among the mages to showcase their power (and wealth sort of). And as the apprentice to one of the princes of the royal court she has to look the part.

Halo: Hollow Vendetta (Part 25)
Their commander told them Duellum Vanitas may collapse, the enemy seems too smart and organized, and how backup may not arrive on time...the planet could be scorched and rampant with primates and Komodo Dragons, even saying how it’s easy to fall into despair. Then he stated how their could win them the war.
Speaking in a confident voice he said: "Pretend this is your final effort ever, motivation will surely follow. Now let’s show these inhuman jackasses that they can have our dirt, but not our home nor allegiance!"
His troops raised their arms with fervent passion as they roared "Hura!" Katsu joined them, then Adla raised a fist in the air, as three Falcons flew away the ONI agent told them through the radio: "Good Luck." They flew over a vibrant forest covered in snow, it displayed the whitest of frost, lush green trees pointing to the heavens, and a calm river flowing elegantly. "You should all see this view, it’s art," said a pilot as he looked at the surrounding biome.
