i find it funny how after i cry on and off for about an hour that once i'm done, five minutes later i'm just fine and giggling at some dumb as fuck joke that i saw online

My dad is cleaning the birdfeeders, and he was like, "Come here and I'll show you how these come apart."

And I said, "I know how they come apart, I was the one who showed you how they do."

And this man.

This man says, so condescendingly, "Oh, I don't think so."

So I had to remind him who bought the birdfeeder for him, and that I showed him how they come apart.

Never mind the fact that I work in a store that sells them and have to know how to take them apart, because I put them together.

Like, sir, it is literally my job to know how they work, and that is the most basic feeder we have.

It's a metal bar that gets slid out to release the base.

And you think I don't know how it works.

He does this with so many things, because he finds it easier to "forget" that I showed him something than to admit that he didn't just intrinsically know how to do it.

And it isn't him actually forgetting half the time, because he'll conveniently remember shit later if it benefits him somehow.

If it's something he doesn't want to deal with, he'll "forget" it ever happened.

I'm just.

I'm tired and I'm beyond frustrated.

Art doesn't make me happy anymore--it hasn't made me happy for a long time--, I'm incapable of finishing any story, barely anyone even notices my artwork in the first place, and I'm never going to make a career out of it.

man it’s not like I want to be uncharitable towards someone who has never been anything but friendly and accommodating to me (something I’ve tried my best to reciprocate) but i’ve talked at length w him about religion and know that he’s a very firm adherent to the quran and the sunni hadith canon.. i’ve heard him talk about gender and law and know that he’s very conservative in his views and don’t think it’s unreasonable to extrapolate his views on ‘qawm lut’. like maybe it is irrational but i’ve had people completely turn on me when they finally figure out my whole gender and sexuality thing and I can’t help but feel like either I gotta basically be very careful not to say anything explicit to the person I sleep like a yard away from in the same room and risk rolling the dice on whether he’ll be like improbably cool with it or if it will make things just a bit or a lot uncomfortable between us or if I’m gonna once again be assaulted by someone who considered me a friend before that (astronomically unlikely but I can’t always tell my nervous system that. lol)
