What if AU where the Trip to Hawaii that Shinichi constantly references in relation to his odd bits of knowledge and expertise was really the Kudos running away from people trying to kill them following Toichi's murder because of Yusaku's close relationship with his twin brother.

Yukiko and Yusaku were forced to teach Shinichi how to do a lot of complicated and frightening things like flying a plane, shooting a gun, or disarming a bomb on the spot because it meant life or death until one day Yusaku cashed in one of his government agent favours and got their relation to the Kurobas erased so they could safely hide away in Beika. They frequently went on extended trips in order to make sure they weren't being tracked before finally relaxing and living their lives comfortably until canon happened.

Shinichi has no idea why any of that happened and both of his parents are extremely tight-lipped about the truth, always referring to the people who tried to kill them as Yusaku's crazed editors. Shinichi eventually gave up on trying to find out because all evidence was meticulously discarded and just referred to it as the Hawaii Trip™.

He gets a kick out of the increasingly incredulous expressions on people's faces when he tells them he learned what cocaine tasted like in Hawaii or that he learned Russian there too. It gets even funnier when he becomes Conan, although he is careful to avoid making the joke when Ran is around.

In my Au Ran, Sonoko and Shiho are childhood friends, although the closest are Shiho and Ran since Sonoko is very sociable but Shiho always has a hard time making friends so Ran is there for her.

Ran is a person who cares a lot about people and more about those closest to him, especially Shiho since she is very reserved and shy her love for science makes her become absorbed in research, from not eating to getting up early without realizing it.

So Ran is the friend who is there to remind Shiho that she needs to take care of herself a little more.

Since Shiho introduced her and Sonoko to Conan she has a bad feeling about him, she denies it in her mind since "he is just a child" but she has that feeling of bad vibes.

And she will not be left with doubt, she is someone who, as long as it is someone important to her, will not sit idly by.

Detective Boys and their Pokémon

Conan: although he starts out without a Pokémon (since he definitely can't be seen walking around with Shinichi's Pokémon), he eventually befriends and catches a very friendly wild Togekiss that seems to be quite accustomed to human contact... Could it be that it used to have a trainer before Conan came along?

Ayumi: she received a Skitty on her sixth birthday! The little one gets to come along on most DB adventures, although it's not being trained for intense battling. Given how young Ayumi is, Skitty was gifted to her as more of a life companion than a battle partner.

Mitsuhiko: he received a Ralts shortly after the beginning of the school year. The Pokémon sleeps almost constantly and clearly has an attitude problem— it doesn't listen to a single word Mitsuhiko says! As a result, Mitsuhiko is hesitant to bring it out most of the time: he'd like to deal with their issues first, but he doesn't know where to start...

Genta: he doesn't exactly have a Pokémon he can call his, per se (which he at times finds himself envying his friends for), but he's occasionally allowed to bring along the Kojima family's Munchlax, usually during specific school events or on DB outings supervised by the professor. He was initially elated to find that Conan didn't have a Pokémon of his own either since that meant he wasn't alone, and took the news of his classmate catching a whole ass Togekiss quite hard.

Ai: although she oftentimes worked with the likes of Rattata, Rotom and Ditto, she was never allowed to have Pokémon of her own during her time in the Organization. However, shortly after going to live with the professor, she was approached by two Pokémon: first a Mimikyu that had been carrying its own poké ball around— which Shiho immediately recognized as her defunct sister's companion—, and later on a wild Yamask, which she eventually agrees to catch after being persistently followed around for weeks. This doesn't have anything to do with the foreboding sense of familiarity she feels whenever she looks at the mask it carries, of course. Don't be ridiculous.

I'd like to think that at one point in Takagi's life, he snaps

Like just straight up threaten someone or just start screaming in anger, cursing every single swear word he knows and probably destroy something within his vicinity or reach.

I mean the Sato Fanclub (Which is kinda weird and disturbing to me to have a fanclub with almost all of the men in your department about you like Sato girl how are you not concerned about this?) probably tormented Takagi since it is clear that they are weary and dislike him cus he's not in the club, works with Sato and to top it all off has a crush on her.

Like messing with his files, tripping him on purpose, pranks (the younger colleagues probably), talking bad about him behind his back or near him purposefully, embarrassing him in front of Sato or Megure and etc.

I'd like to think that on one particular day in his life everything went wrong for him like a bad morning, coming late to work, misplaced files, dealing with sh*tty criminals that make you want to kill them personally and adding with his colleagues torment he just snaps

He probably was being belittled by Shiratori and some other colleagues and just went 'OKAY FUCK THIS SHIT I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF B*LLSH*T FOR TODAY', straights up walks over to Shiratori grabs his tie to pull him down to his height and goes, "Listen here Shiratori. I would beat the absolute sh*t out of you with my bare hands then with my gun and bury you six feet under, if it weren't for the fact that I am a police detective, you're an inspector and we're in the department right now."

Then he just goes about his sh*tty day leaving everyone bewildered and a slightly terrified Shiratori behind.

Or at one point he goes to a rage room and ya know rages

Kaito and conan cousins au

(In this au conan is a separate person, the b.o did not happen thus he is kudo conan, and the kuroba and kudo family does family reunions from time to time, shinichi is a fujimine (kudo yukikos maiden surname, thus he is from yukikos side of conans cousin) so fujimine shinichi, same story about being left alone by his parents since like a kid so he spends most of his time with the kudos.

How kaito and shinichi met, when they were 10 and conan has just been born, shinichi was the designated babysitter of conan, he is conans fav cousin bc of that, and bc of conans birth, the kurobas visited the kudo manor with their 10 yr old son to let him see his newly born baby cousin but instead found the love of his life)

Kaito: what? I didnt even say anything!

Conan: no! I know u want me to be a wingman for u and shinichi niichan but no! Shinichi niichan is basically your cousin in law!

Kaito: why?! Dont you want the family to be even closer than ever? Also, in law! In laws can marry each other!

one of the big dynamics i have been thinking about in this au is between Kaito and Hakuba - i actually had a pretty tough time with all of the detectives for this, because i didn't want it to come off as them being stupid and jumping to conclusions. Hakuba is really smart!!! however, combined with the facts that Kaito does have an actual real connection with Kaitou KID (not that he knows it) and lots of similarities with the thief, he is also RIDICULOUSLY SUSPICIOUS.

so Hakuba looks at his classmate who is maybe the most suspicious person on earth, who had a magician father who died right around the time that Kaitou KID originally dropped off the map, who is in himself an exceptionally talented magician with a penchant for trouble, and comes to pretty much the exact same conclusion he does in the original story. means, motive, and opportunity! it's pretty much a no-brainer!

Kaito.... mostly thinks he's joking. he knows that Hakuba's not dumb, and he obviously knows that he's not KID, so he assumes that it's some kind of joke? he starts getting annoyed about it at some point, especially when everyone and their mom starts accusing him of being a wanted criminal, but he's equally as likely to play into it, which... doesn't help with everyone thinking that he's a wanted criminal. unfortunately Kaito is often fucked over by his willingness to commit to the bit. such is life.
