honestly i wish the only way for magical girls to get respect wasn't for them to be as close to shonen as possible.
"unlike other magical girls, precure has hand to hand combat! its dbz for girls!"
"i know princess tutu's name is stupid but its actually not girly at all!"
"sailor moon isn't ACTUALLY for little girls because [insert scene of characters suffering or creepy stuff from the manga here]"
"madoka is better than other magical girls because its DARK"
like do magical girls really needs to be dbz but girly to be worthy of respect? can't they just be... magical girl shows? a show can be unapologetically girly and aimed at girls and still be worth checking out. yes, princess tutu is girly. yes, sailor moon is girly. yes, precure is girly. yes, madoka, despite being a seinen and darker, ultimately upholds the messages of the genre. and they're all awesome and deserve respect on their own merits, not as a comparison to popular shonen shows.
Ok, but I love the fact that a Namekians antennae can get all droopy when they feel humiliated, defeated and so forth. Like just the fact their antennae are able to express emotions is something we should see more often.
thinking about gohan and vegeta and how their bond is underrated
the difference in their reactions to each other 😭
Gohan being the first one to step between Vegeta and Certain Death, twice, without an ounce of hesitation, and Vegeta saving him back despite his feelings about battle intervention.
Vegeta knowing Gohan's the best of all of them
Vegeta and Gohan both born prodigies assigned an unfair amount of responsibility to be Great and be a Saiyan Messiah(tm) way too young by a stubborn and proud if not (relatively) well-meaning father who didn't see any other option and I just think Gohan doesn't get enough credit as like. The first serious muscle behind Geets' personal growth.
Quick sketch after @serenityhime1 picked “draw something that makes you happy” in my ask game. I don’t usually draw Vegebul in a realistic way but I had fun doing this. It might be the beginning of a new drawing phase 🤔
Maybe some of you smart people already know this, BUT
Dbz ocean dub is on internet archive! It autoplays the next episode and is ad-free! I havent downloaded it yet tho so i can only speak for its streaming
I started watchin it last night (id only ever seen clips - always watched the funi dub or jp dub) but im genuinely enjoying it 🤣 please just listen:
u ever think abt how maybe the reason why vegeta hates being fused with goku is bc they can see into each other's memories and he can't stand seeing everything he was robbed of having grown up in the PTO under Frieza while goku was only ever loved and nourished by everyone around him? no? just me?
Hey hey ! Here are the last version and first version of my take on the main three baddies!
Since I've been working on a little exploration of the lore of the Frieza Empire, I spent a long time finding a way to fit the saiyans in my own style! It might not look like it but making DBZ Fanart was the reason I got into drawing at 11y/o. And any tentative I made since to draw BDZ had been a failure xD so this time I took my time.
It's always good for me to make at least two or three versions of my designs and with Raditz Nappa and Vegeta, I could feel they needed more work after the first try.
One of my biggest inspo was a fan artist who's apparently quit the Fandom (stupidoomdoodles) but they work ready helped me find a satisfying way to draw the boys ^^ and work on giving them a little more personality in my head 💥
I love how Raditz went from teenager to adult between these xD also it was so fun drawing so much muscles!
