Surely, this is our God; we trusted in Him, and He saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in Him; let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.' Isaiah 25:9
The word " trusted" appears twice in this verse. The word trust means, you have faith in Jesus, in your waiting, in your pleading, in your praying. It basically means to rest, trustfully, in God at all times.
Perhaps you are waiting for God to do something in your life. You don't understand why things are not happening in the way you expected it to happen. I want to encourage you, God knows everything and He sees everything. He knows your fear , He knows every anxious thought.
It may not make sense now, but He will cause you to see the salvation of God, the goodness of God, the greatness of God, and the wisdom of God, in ways far greater than you could think or imagine. Don't lose heart. Be of good cheer.

You'll wait. You'll pray. You'll get frustrated. You'll question everything. But you'll continue to be patient. You'll keep waiting. And you'll keep praying. And one day, when you least expect it, it'll finally happen. So don't ever stop believing. Don't ever stop trusting. And don't ever stop hoping. God is so ready to give you everything you've ever dreamed of - but you have to understand it's on His timing, not yours.

There is this saying my mom used to say "the mouth speaks of what the heart is full of," and that is true, as emphasized in this passage. It shows us the immense power our words hold, and our responsibility in taking care of what we say, after all words can kill just as easily as they can build people up.
Another key take away of these verses is that the tongue can only be tamed if we are with God. Taming the tongue isn't just about self-discipline, but it's also a reflection of one's relationship with the divine. If we speak of God in church, but with our friends we say foul words, we are practicing hypocrisy.
In essence, the wisdom of James 3:1-12 reminds us that our words are a window to the condition of our hearts so we should take care of what goes in it.

Get to know me 🌸
Hi there! Here’s my get to know me,
I’m 20 years old, and happily married as of November 2024. I love Jesus, (and he loves you too!) I have very traditional values that reflect themselves in my mental, physical, spiritual, and sexual life. I’m holistic-ish. I used to be a feminist, not anymore. I try to live life cleanly, but as affordable as possible. I serve God before anything. Secondly, I serve my husband above all other people.
THIS BLOG IS ANTI-ABORTION I believe abortion is murder because life begins at conception. From the moment of fertilization, a baby has its own DNA, completely unique and separate from the mother’s. That’s a human life, and taking it is no different than taking the life of someone outside the womb. To me, the unborn child is not just “a clump of cells” or a part of the mother’s body—it’s a separate, living person with the same right to life as anyone else.
I also believe this because of my faith in God. The Bible says that we’re all made in the image of God, and in Psalm 139, it talks about how God knits us together in the womb, knowing us before we’re even born. Life is sacred to Him, and abortion is going against His design and plan. It’s heartbreaking to think of a life, one that God has already given purpose and value to, being taken away before it even gets a chance.
That’s why I’m anti-abortion. I understand that many women who choose abortion are scared or feel hopeless. I don’t think condemning them is the answerI want to see people stepping in with support, resources, and love to help them through those hard times. Adoption, crisis pregnancy centers, and community support are such powerful ways to give these women and their babies a future.
At the end of the day, I believe every single human life is valuable, no matter how small or how inconvenient it might seem to the world. Standing up for the unborn is standing up for those who can’t speak for themselves, and it’s about honoring the sanctity of life, as God intended.
THIS BLOG IS ANTI-PORN I believe pornography is destructive to individuals, relationships, and society as a whole. It promotes unrealistic expectations of intimacy, which damages trust and erodes the foundation of healthy relationships. Porn also encourages people to objectify and devalue others, making it harder to see each person as someone with inherent dignity. Beyond that, it’s addictive, harming mental health, fostering shame, and isolating people. It promotes a culture that celebrates consequence-free, casual sex, which weakens values like self-control, chastity, and commitment—values that are central to strong families and communities. I’m especially concerned about how easily kids are exposed to porn, warping their understanding of sex and relationships at a young age. Spiritually, it tempts people away from a life aligned with God’s will and replaces real love with emptiness.
THIS BLOG DOES NOT SUPPORT DOMESTIC DISCIPLINE Domestic discipline, often involving corporal punishment of a spouse, is considered unbiblical by many because it contradicts the core Christian principles of love, respect, and mutual submission in marriage. The Bible emphasizes forgiveness and reconciliation rather than punishment, suggesting that such practices are abusive and not reflective of Christ's teachings.
FYI, I personally don’t believe men can be women or that women can be men. I do not agree with the LGBTQ lifestyle, you will not find me in support of that in this blog. I have nothing against people who choose to live this way. You are a valuable human being just like the rest of us. I just believe marriage is between a biological man and biological a woman created by God. If you don’t agree with this, this probably isn’t the blog for you.
However! The traditional lifestyle is something that should be accessible for all sexes and races. I don’t think it should be just limited to one sex or race.
My hobbies and interest include:
• Cooking (I wanted to be a chef but I am too soft for the food industry)
• Taking care of children (I work in childcare)
• Reading (My favorite book is the Phantom Tolbooth!)
• Writing poetry and songs
• Drawing (I’m not good I just love to do it)
• I love to make soap, lotion, and tinctures
• Educating myself on non toxic living
• Being a good and submissive wife
My goal on this blog is to post about how my young traditional marriage is going. What is working, what isn’t, what might work for you. Etc etc. Feel free to stay along for the ride!
With love,
thatgentlewife

From Fear to Courage Have you ever had questions or doubts that you felt you had to figure out on your own?  Sometimes, we’re embarrassed to ask our questions because we think we should already know the answers. But Jesus invites us to bring all of our doubts, fears, and questions to Him.  In John 3, we see Nicodemus, a respected, religious man of influence, come to Jesus privately one night to ask him some questions. Many people think Nicodemus came to Jesus at night because he was afraid the other Pharisees, who were always looking for ways to get rid of Jesus, would see Nicodemus and judge him.  As a Pharisee, Nicodemus had spent his entire life studying Scripture. But he still didn’t have all of the answers. Instead of relying on his own abilities and knowledge, Nicodemus set aside his pride and status and went to Jesus.   While Nicodemus may have been afraid of the Pharisees’ judgment, Jesus didn’t judge him. He welcomed Nicodemus’ questions and answered him with the truth.  In Jesus’ response to Nicodemus, He says this: “But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”  Jesus is saying that whoever lives by the truth and follows Him, lives in the light. Those who don’t live like Jesus, run away from the light and live in darkness.  Nicodemus approached Jesus at night out of fear of what others might think. But Jesus challenged him to live in the light and follow Him. This encounter with Jesus changed Nicodemus’ life. He no longer followed Jesus in the shadows. In John 7, he defended Jesus to the other Pharisees, and in John 19, he was there to bury Jesus’ body. Just like Nicodemus, when we choose to walk with Jesus, we move from darkness to light and from fear to courage. And when we come to Jesus, He meets us where we are and guides us toward His truth.

With You in the Storm
Tumblr media
The Sea of Galilee in Israel is known for violent, sudden storms. Strong winds can create huge waves that threaten seafarers, like we see in the book of Mark.
The night the disciples and Jesus crossed the Sea of Galilee, a storm set in. Violent. Sudden. Terrifying. And while the disciples frantically worked to keep the vessel afloat, there was Jesus, asleep in the boat. The disciples woke him and asked: “Teacher, do you not care if we drown?” (Mark 4:38 NIV)
That question might read a little differently for you today:
“Jesus, do you not care that my health is falling apart?”
“Jesus, do you not care that my finances are draining out?”
“Jesus, do you not care that my relationship is in tatters?”
But there is more to the story.
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”
Mark 4:39 NIV
Jesus didn’t join them in their fear. Instead, He looked right at the storm and brought calm. Then, He asked His disciples why they were so afraid: “Do you still have no faith?” (Mark 4:40).
Have you ever faced a challenge so massive, it threatened to overwhelm you? It can be disorienting, terrifying, heartbreaking, even, when the storm sets in and everything suddenly feels bleak in the face of such a strong force against us.
But God went with the disciples because He cared about them. He goes with you because He cares about you.
What storm are you facing today? Take a moment to close your eyes and imagine Jesus, unafraid of the storm, bringing everything to a calm. He is with you. You are not alone in this storm.

You're not powerful enough to ruin God's plan for you.
In case you thought you blew it.
In case you thought you were too far gone.
In case you are stuck in fear.
Rest in the fact that God is a God of redemption, and He knows your limitations.
Psalm 103:13-14 reminds us: "As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust."
If you're seeking to honor God, you're exactly where you need to be. He sees your heart, your sacrifices, and your obedience. It's not about perfection, but submission. God fulfills His plans through willing hearts.
Please don't think that you messed up the story.
Continue to show up faithfully, and know that God, in His faithfulness, will do His part and direct your path. 🌿

God’s people had just won a decisive victory over their enemies, the Philistines, causing them to fall before His people. Then, the Samuel did something to commemorate the powerful victory and deliverance of God’s people. He took a stone and set it up and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “thus far the LORD has helped us.” (1 Samuel 7:12) He wanted the people to remember the mighty hand of God in saving His people. These words not only showed their gratitude to the LORD who had delivered them in the past, but an expectation that He will help in the future. The God who has helped us “thus far” is the same God who will help us in the future. Remember the past victories God has given. Remember how Jesus saved you and delivered you in times past and you’ll be encouraged to know that He’ll save you and deliver you in times present and times future.
