in line w your post about Insta caption; your headcanon about how each Bella uses emoji, what they post on social media and how they'd caption everything?

word count is 1,5k for this one who's surprised??? you genuinely cannot send me an ask and not get answer longer than the fics that i write sigh i kind of went off the rails a bit and forgot about the “how they’d caption everything” part of the question, but here’s a detailed rant of how each of them texts and uses social media:

Chloe: where do i even begin? i feel like she has auto-caps on and uses a shit ton of emojis, but for their actual purpose instead of ironically. she does not send a single text without At Least two hearts, and is definitely not a dry texter by any means. also, according to everyone she has ever been in contact with, she has a habit of sending ten texts in a row instead of just writing everything into one message, which is denied within four seconds of it being brought up. (“but it’s easier to read separate, short messages!” “it’s just how i would talk in real life, you know!”) she has two accounts on instagram, one which is public and one which is private. on the public one she posts aesthetically and has a theme which she strictly follows. the posts are mostly about cute animals she takes care of, or major events. private on the other hand? it basically contains her Entire life – all ups and downs included – and a shit ton of random pictures of Beca. it’s only followed by the Bellas and some of her closest family. twitter, facebook and tiktok (which she would never admit to having) are on a different level. what that implies is very much up for interpretation. she’s one of those pinterest users, and has a board for Everything. has regular meetups with Aubrey when they just gush over their pinterest feeds, dream weddings, etc. (whatever it is that those people do idk)

Aubrey: perfect grammar and punctuation, one emoji per message. a facebook mom, if you will. she gets teased for it endlessly but her response is always something like “why would i use texting for anything other than it’s purpose of informing others?”

if you bring up social media in her presence, she will scowl at you and let you believe that she absolutely despises every form of online contacting. however, she will go back home and sit on Her Armchair with a glass of fucking expensive red wine and go through every single one of your social media accounts from tumblr to linkedin (stalker much?). not that she posts anywhere, except for twitter where she just lets hell loose every once in a blue moon. she does have an instagram account as well though, but just for liking other peoples posts as she claims if someone happens to ask (despite her story always having at least twenty random pictures at any given time of the day)

Amy: … she’s, well, Amy. she texts with full caps or no caps, always with at least five typos even if it’s just two words. it’s Something, how she manages to do that every single time. she’s a tiktok emoji trend user (eg. skull for laughing) which confuses others (read: Aubrey, who isn’t on tiktok) a lot.

her social media is full of memes, random selfies, “inspirational” quotes that are more or less insane, and pictures of food. she, for some reason, went viral on tiktok and has like two million followers. (nobody knows why, which is probably for the better.) on twitter, she mostly just retweets crazy shit and thirsts over celebrities Very openly. then there’s reddit… yeah,, there’s reddit. she doesn’t really use other socials, but does have accounts literally everywhere.

Stacie: as i said in the post that inspired this ask, she texts like Alexis (her actress) writes her instagram captions. so basically just a lot of dragged out words, a bunch of emojis and abbreviations and that stuff. i don’t know to describe it, so. take that as you will. im not sure how many of you follow her anyway .

our girl is for sure, without a doubt, a tiktok thirst trapper. she does it unintentionally at first, but when she goes viral she starts doing it for fun (almost like a hobby). her comments used to be flooded by creepy men, but once she put the bi flag in her bio they seemingly disappeared and were replaced by the army of “#wlw? we won” people. Aubrey’s not too happy about her posting herself like that, but she thinks it’s whatever as long as Stacie runs every video through her (not in a controlling way. she’s just also one of those lesbians who drool over her.) Stacie’s instagram is also kinda similar, but with pictures instead of videos. they’re subtle and barely revealing for the most part, but she looks good in literally anything so she has a lot of followers anyway. that’s where her social media use ends, save for the private twitter account that she uses to bully the rest of the Bellas.

Beca: she texts in all lowercase, but decent grammar anyways. she’s not exactly big on emojis, but slips them in every few messages (she’s a chronic frowning emoji user, that’s for sure). i don’t know how else to describe her texting?? she usually doesn’t even reply with other than half a sentence or a barely coherent abbreviation

she’s famous, so her socials are mostly “official” and really, Really lack personality. naturally, she has private accounts which her closest circle of people follow. she doesn’t post though, mainly just replies to other people. (well, maybe she accidentally clicks post on random memes sometimes, but you really don’t need to know that.) Batshit Crazy Reddit User™ and will use it as a reliable source for anything. you can also find her at 3am doomscrolling on twitter.

Emily: oh god. she texts like she just got a phone and is generally as awkward as when talking. kinda like Chloe, she’ll send a thousand texts in a row in the same way she stumbles over her words irl. she spams people with only emojis, and doesn’t Make Sense most of the time. but she’s Emily, so they let it slide.

she’s not that big on social media (follower wise) but active? hell yes. she posts something every. single. day. whether its a mirror selfie or a cute flower she saw on her way to yoga (she does yoga. yeah. i know. crazy.) you can pretty much imagine Hailee’s insta up until like 2020 but double the amount of posts. there’s never too much filters or hashtags for her, and she unfortunately did not grow out of the 2013(-ish) filter phase. she unironically uses facebook and watches instagram reels, and nobody bats an eye anymore when she giggles and sends a link to a puppy video from the deep dark archives of facebook. any other form of social media she stays away from, especially twitter (she has an account but zero posts or replies). she does learn pinterest from Chloe at some point, so that becomes a big thing for her eventually though.

Cynthia Rose: she texts in the closest way to normal possible. she uses auto-caps, a decent amount of emojis that actually make sense, and abbreviations that everyone can understand. but she does have a middle-aged man edge to it sometimes. she’s an influencer. not that kind of “grwm to go shopping” one, but she fights for rights, talks about representation, and brings out the voices of minorities. she runs campaigns, interviews people, and activist type of stuff. it’s a good thing and she’s happy about what she does (even if she does spend all day everyday working for it despite doing it for free). but, sticking to the running theme, she has a private twitter account. her header is a lesbian quote with two pairs of scissors, and her posts are just plain Insane. she mostly uses it to bully Beca for literally no reason at all. 

Flo: texts like a wine aunt. that’s it. there’s no other way i can describe it.

she has an instagram for her juice truck, and it has a bunch of followers all around the world who are interested in watching her move from one place to another. she also posts tutorials how to make her juices at home (especially during the pandemic), and she’s basically sponsored by a million companies just because she gave them recipes lol. on her personal account, she’s also kind of an influencer too. she mostly posts about fashion and food, maybe sometimes stray cats that walk up to her on the streets when she’s going around with her truck. she’s not really famous famous, but has like 30k followers. i feel like i’m just gonna say the same for them all, but she also has a priv twitter account for the sole purpose of including herself in the crazy ass threads where all of the other Bellas are just, going mental. she’s also a pinterest / aesthetic moodboard tumblr girly methinks. 

Lilly: you can only imagine how she texts, if she even does. ominous as fuck. i’m leaving it at that because shes just so,,,,,, well you know.

she doesn’t use social media as far as anyone knows, and she barely has a working phone number. but if we are being real, does anyone really know anything about her anyway???

Ashley + Jessica: i have zero idea??? it’s hard to give personalities to characters whose names are barely confirmed. but i’m guessing they’re the most “normal” out of them all. you know, casual texting and barely posting anywhere. it’s odd. but they are still bellas and we love them.

🛼THE BARDEN BELLAS GO ROLLER SKATING 🛼

Beca: Amazing at skating, uses inline skates instead of quads and skates round super fast

Aubrey: Doesn't let go of the sides until the very end of the session when she's kind of got the hang of it.

Chloe: So much confidence, so little skill, hits the ground every 30 seconds but gets right back up again

Amy: Decent skater, falls only once when she attempts a fancy trick that fails, after which she goes back to just skating around to the music

Emily: Nervous at the start and tags along with Aubrey but after about 10 minutes finds her confidence and skates round the middle of the rink with the others

Stacie: Really skilled and performs all kinds of fancy turns and tricks and races Beca around

Cynthia Rose: Attempts to skate but mostly joins Chloe on the floor. She soon gives up and cheers everyone on from the sides with snacks in hand

Lilly: Pretty good skater, can perform turns and tricks but her skates don't make any noise so it's always a shock when she pops up behind you

Flo: Definitely a fast skater with loads of tricks but that doesn't mean she doesn't hit the floor a few times

Jessica and Ashley: Go unnoticed, as usual. They skate round holding hands and they stay quite near to the side so that they can grab it if they need

BONUS HEADCANONS

Everytime Beca skates past Chloe she stops to help her up and carries on skating and Chloe secretly quite likes the attention

Jessica and Ashley were not originally invited but go skating a lot so found out that the Bellas were going and tagged along

Aubrey would be ever so slightly jealous of Beca's skating skills

They all sing along to the songs that are playing on the speakers and often sing their own parts out of habit (e.g Chloe sings bass and Lilly beatboxes)

Pitch Perfect SpookFest 2022 - Day 3

Summary: A sudden rash of murders at Barden University occur only after the sun goes down. The University sets a curfew for all students; the Barden Bellas are no exception. Or are they?

Beca entered the Bellas's house with seconds to spare before the University's mandatory curfew began. She walked into the living room to find most of the Bellas glued to whatever was on the TV screen.

"What's going on?" Beca asked.

"Campus Security found another body on campus," Ashley said. "It was one of the girls from the High Notes. They think the same person killed her as the others."

"And the University sent out a mass text changing the curfew to 6:00 pm, starting tomorrow night," Jessica said.

"I saw the text," Beca said. "I don't know why they bother; the curfew doesn't seem to be working. Did they mention anything else they're doing to catch this guy?"

"They said they were doubling security patrols and suggested that everyone travel in groups," Stacie said. "We should all pair up, so no one goes anywhere alone."

"That's a good idea," Beca said, looking around. "Where's Chloe?"

"She hasn't come home yet," Fat Amy said.

"What?!" Beca screeched, pulling out her phone.

Beca found Chloe's name and sent her a text.

Beca: Where are you?

Chloe responded almost immediately.

Chloe: I'm stuck at the library. Since it's past curfew, they won't let me leave.

Beca chewed on her bottom lip while she tried to think of a way to get Chloe back to the house. She looked around at the girls, and an idea came to her.

Beca: What if some of the Bellas and I come and get you? Will they let you leave since there will be a group of us?

Beca waited for Chloe's response. When it wasn't immediate, she began chewing on her bottom lip again. She let out a breath when her phone showed that Chloe was responding.

Chloe: The security guard said that I could leave if a group of you came to get me.

Beca: We're on our way.

Chloe: Please be careful.

"I need some of you to go with me to get Chloe from the library," Beca said, looking around at the Bellas. "She can't leave unless we go get her as a group."

"I'll go," Stacie said.

"Us, too," Jessica and Ashley said.

"Count me in," Cynthia Rose added.

"Me, too," Flo said.

"If it's okay with you guys, I want to get some clothes and stuff so I can stay here. My roommate went home, and I don't want to stay alone."

"Of course, you can stay here," Beca said. "Cynthia Rose, would you, Lily, Flo, and Fat Amy go with Emily? The rest of us will get Chloe."

"We can do that," Cynthia Rose said.

"I'll just wait here," Fat Amy said.

Beca started to say something to Fat Amy but snapped her mouth shut. Instead, she clapped her hands together ala Aubrey Posen, and said, "Okay, then, let's go."

The two groups left the house together. Beca led her group toward the library while Emily led the others toward her dorm.

~~ Pitch Perfect SpookFest 2022 - Day 3 ~~

All the Bellas were back at the house, and Beca called a mandatory meeting.

"What's this about, Beca?" Ashley asked once the girls were all seated.

"Chloe and I have decided that no one from this house is allowed to go out alone, even in the daytime. With the number of dead bodies that keep turning up, no one is safe. We will put rehearsals on hold for now or figure out a way to do them all here."

"Beca's right," Chloe added. "We will get through this as long as we all stick together. Okay?"

The girls all nod in agreement just as all their phones ping with an incoming text. They all checked their phones to find a campus-wide message.

"It looks like all evening classes have been canceled for now," Beca said.

There was another ping indicating an additional text had come in.

"This one says they're closing down the campus," Chloe said. "Everyone is supposed to make plans to go home no later than Friday."

"I can't afford to go home," Fat Amy said. "What am I supposed to do?"

"If I go home," Flo said. "There is a good chance I won't be let back in the country when things are safe."

"You can both stay with me," Beca said. "I'll be going to my dad's. It's not ideal, but at least we should be safe."

"Thanks, Beca," Fat Amy said. "If you're sure your dad won't mind, I'd like to take you up on your offer."

"Yes, thank you, Beca," Flo said. "I will stay with you, too."

"I'll call my dad in the morning," Beca said. "As for the rest of you, maybe you can work your trips around each other's schedules so we can work as a team and get you away from campus safely. I can borrow my dad's SUV and take a couple of you at a time if that helps."

"Thanks, Beca," Jessica said. "I'll call my parents now and see what I can schedule. Ashley, come with me?"

"Sure," Ashley said.

"I'll go with you, too," Emily said, following Ashley. "I need to call my mom, so she can book my flight for me. We can coordinate our schedules to leave around the same time."

The three girls left the room; Chloe turned to Beca.

"Beca," Chloe said. "Are you sure you'll be safe at your dad's? I mean, his house is really close to campus."

"We'll be safe, Chloe," Beca said with a gentle smile. "I promise."

Chloe smiled back and pulled Beca into a hug.

"Good," she whispered in Beca's ear. "Because I like having you around, and I'm going to miss you while we're gone."

"I'll miss you, too," Beca whispered back before pulling out of the hug.

~~ Pitch Perfect SpookFest 2022 - Day 3 ~~

By the next morning, the girls were all able to get flights out but were not able to leave campus until Friday.

"Chloe, can you put together a schedule so I can get everyone to the airport tomorrow?" Beca asked.

"I'm driving home," Chloe said. "So I'll take Jessica, Ashley, and Emily to the airport in the morning because their flights all leave before ten. I'll just head home after I drop them off. Stacie, Cynthia, and Lily have afternoon flights, so if you could take them, that should be fine."

"I can do that," Beca said. "My dad is fine with me using his SUV, so Amy, Flo, and I will go to my dad's later to pick up the car and bring it back here."

Later that afternoon, Beca, Fat Amy, and Flo left to go to Professor Mitchell's house. The three were walking to the front door when Flo stopped and looked around.

"I will wait out here," Flo said, causing Amy and Beca to stop.

"Why?" Beca asked.

"It's a beautiful day, and I just want to enjoy the sunshine," Flo responded.

"Suit yourself," Beca said and continued toward her father's house.

Amy looked at Flo, and Flo sniffed the air.

"I could use a snack," Flo said, causing Fat Amy to smile.

Her smile grew wider when she saw the man walking down the sidewalk toward them.

"I'm a bit peckish myself," Fat Amy said, licking her lips.

Thirty minutes later, Stacie receives a weird text from Amy.

Fat Amy: something's happened meet me outside DON'T TELL CHLOE

Stacie reads it again and then shows it to Cynthia Rose.

"What could have happened?" Cynthia Rose whispered.

"I don't know," Stacie responded. "But if it involves Fat Amy telling me not to tell Chloe, it's not good."

Stacie stood and asked Cynthia Rose to go with her. They exit the house and see a gray SUV sitting at the curb. Amy gets out and rushes around the front of the car to meet them.

"What's going on, Amy?" Stacie asked.

Flo jumped out of the passenger seat and opened the car's back door.

"This is what's going on," Flo announced.

Stacie and Cynthia Rose gasped. Laying in the backseat, with her head toward them, is an unmoving and bleeding Beca.

"What the hell happened?" Stacie screeched, reaching into the car and placing her fingers against Beca's neck.

"Does she have a pulse?" Cynthia Rose asked.

"Barely," Stacie told her. "One of you had better start talking."

"Amy did it!" Flo blurted out.

"Only to save you!" Fat Amy screeched.

"You'd better tell us what happened," Cynthia Rose said, looking at Fat Amy. "Chloe will be looking for Beca any minute."

"Okay, so, um, we got to Beca's dad's house, and Flo smelled this guy walking down the street," Fat Amy said. "So, she told Beca she'd wait outside while Beca got the keys. When Beca went into the house, Flo jumped the guy and dragged him behind the car and started feeding."

"Only, Beca came out too quickly, and I wasn't finished," Flo said. "Then she came around the car and saw me with blood dripping down my chin. She screamed and asked me what I was doing. That's when Amy came up behind her."

"I didn't know what else to do, so I bit her," Fat Amy said. "Only I was hungrier than I thought, and I didn't stop. I thought she was dead, so we brought her here so one of you could save her."

"Dammit, Amy," Stacie said, her eyes turning black. "Chloe is going to kill you; she told us Beca was off limits."

"I know," Fat Amy cried. "I couldn't help myself. One of you needs to turn her."

"I'll do it," Chloe's voice said from behind Amy, startling the girls. "Stacie, help me get Beca inside. Flo, you and Cynthia keep watch to make sure no one sees us."

Flo and Cynthia Rose nodded as Chloe and Stacie walked over to the car. Chloe stopped at the open door and looked over at Amy.

"I'll deal with you later," Chloe said with a piercing glare.

Amy just nodded her head and went into the house. Chloe climbed into the back with Beca while Stacie stood by the car door. Flo and Cynthia Rose looked around before turning back to Stacie.

"It's safe," Cynthia Rose said. "No one's around."

"Stacie, grab her shoulders and pull her out," Chloe said. "I'll take her by the legs."

The two Bellas got Beca out of the car and carried her into the house. Cynthia Rose and Flo followed behind, watching to ensure no one saw them.

"Oh, my God!" Jessica exclaimed when she saw them carrying Beca into the house. "What happened?"

"Amy happened," Flo responded.

"Lay her on the couch," Chloe told Stacie.

They gently placed Beca on the couch, and Stacie placed her fingers on Beca's neck. She looked at Chloe, who was kneeling next to the sofa.

"Her pulse is weakening," Stacie told Chloe. "If you're going to do it, you have to do it now. She doesn't have much time."

Chloe wiped a tear from her eye. "I really don't want to."

"If you don't, she'll die," Flo said. "You don't want that do you?"

"No," Chloe said with a sad sigh. "Fine, I'll do it."

Chloe shook her head and leaned toward Beca. She turned Beca's head and exposed her neck. She bit down and released her venom into Beca's body.

After a minute, Chloe pulled back and wiped her mouth. She brushed a lock of hair from Beca's forehead.

"I'm so sorry, Beca," Chloe whispered. "I tried so hard to keep you from becoming one of us."

"One of us?" Beca asked, her voice raspy and weak. She put a hand to her neck and groaned. "What happened?"

"Get out, girls!" Chloe ordered, causing all the girls to leave her alone with Beca.

"Seriously, Chloe," Beca said, looking at the redhead. "What happened to me?"

Chloe calmly told Beca about the Bellas being creatures of the night. And how all of them had sworn to keep Beca in the dark about them.

"Wait," Beca said, sitting up as her strength returned. "Creatures of the night? So, you're telling me you're all like vampires or some shit?"

"Not like vampires," Chloe corrected. "We are vampires."

"I've lived with you for three years," Beca said. "How did I not know this about you? About any of you?"

"We are very good at keeping what we are a secret," Chloe said. "But Fat Amy went a bit rogue when you saw Flo feeding, so she bit you. She went too far, and I had to bite you to turn you into one of us. It was that or let you die. I'm sorry, but I couldn't bear to stand back and let you die."

"Thanks, I think," Beca mumbled, looking around. "I have so many questions."

"You can ask me whatever you want," Chloe said, a soft smile on her face.

"Okay," Beca said. "Um, I've seen you all outside when it's sunny. I thought vampires couldn't let the sun touch their skin, hence them being called creatures of the night."

Chloe chuckled. "That's a myth created by writers. It kind of fits in with the illusion that we should be feared. We can be in the sunlight most of the day except at Noon when the sun is the highest and hottest. Oh, and another myth is that we are afraid of garlic, and you can use it to keep us away."

"The garlic thing isn't true?"

"Nope."

"Huh."

"Anything else you want to know?"

"Um, yeah," Beca said nervously as she looked at Chloe. "Are, um, are you and the girls responsible for all the deaths that have been occurring on campus?"

"No," Chloe said. "I swear to you, Beca, it's not one of us. We think it's one of the Trebles that was turned without his consent, and he can't control his urges."

"I was turned without my consent," Beca said, eyes wide. "Will I be like that, too?"

"No," Chloe said. "I'll teach you how to control yourself, and you won't be like that. Whoever turned him didn't teach him anything, so he's been acting on primal instinct to survive."

"If you think you know who it is, can't you turn him in so the killings stop?"

"What would we say?" Chloe countered. "Hey, detective, the person you're looking for is a vampire. How do I know? Well, I'm one, too. No thanks."

"What if you kill him?" Beca asked. "Can't vampires kill another vampire? If one of you does that, the killings will stop, and things will go back to normal."

"Beca," Chloe said. "We don't kill for the sake of killing."

"What about Flo and that guy she was. . .feeding on?" Beca asked. "Are you telling me he's still alive?"

"Yes, he is," Chloe said. "Flo used her skills, for lack of a better word, to convince him it was all a dream, so he won't remember anything. Although he will probably wonder for a while how he got the puncture marks on his neck."

"So, I'll live for centuries since I'm a vampire now, too?" Beca asked, her brows furrowed. She suddenly smiled at Chloe and added, "Surprisingly, I'm more than okay with that as long as you're around."

"Yes," Chloe said, smiling. "I'll be by your side so much that you'll get sick of me."

"Not a chance," Beca said, pulling Chloe into a kiss.

Beca: tbh i feel like she would intentionally find the worst (i, by no means, intend to offend anyone with that) smut fics and laugh at them. on the other hand, her inner teen angst would probably take over and she'd read awfully angsty stuff. like Whump / dd:dne level shit. but also found family fluff?? depends on the day. her top tags are probably Hurt/Comfort, Found Family, Enemies to Lovers (even though she'd never admit to any of them willingly)

Chloe: Fake Dating AU (with no further explanation, sorry). mostly she doesn't necessarily search for specific tags, just scrolls through an entire fandom/ship/character tag and reads whatever's interesting enough. deep deep down she does have a thing for Vampire AUs. lord knows why. also maybe kinda Slowburn?? she absolutely will sit down and read fifty chapters of insanely gut wrenching heart break and then sob over it for days even if it has a happy ending. Aubrey: Canon Divergent AU. or just AUs in general (childhood friends, soulmates.. yk whatever there is) i think. she likes to see authors put their own twists into what actually happened. also maybe because her favourite ships and characters always get ruined by whoever's behind the actual media,,, but that's like. totally unrelated. Stacie: High School AU. do you guys see the vision here?? because i don't know how to explain it in coherent words. but she's all for the teen drama. (later in life) on very random occasions she also reads Family Fluff because it reminds her of Bella and she loves Bella. Amy: she finds the most disturbing, explicit tags known to mankind. Improper Use Of Eyesocket? Creating a New Hole? Watersports? yeah. those. and worse. nobody knows how she's even able to read them. Emily: Found Family, Fluff, Light Angst, Fluff and Angst, Hurt/Comfort (which she often mistakes for hurt/no comfort and regrets it for months after). she LOVES fluff and all the mushy gushy stuff. but also kinda similarly to Chloe, she can get lost in an intense Slowburn for a while. and cry about it after she finishes. Flo: she absolutely reads Smut. dirty mf. if not smut then probably Found Family as well (seems to be a common theme with them all). Firefighter AUs are also high up on her list for some reason?? i mean i don't blame her Cynthia Rose: i feel like if i went with how her character is (sadly) portrayed in the movies, then Lesbian Sex would be the obvious answer. but i feel like she'd be more of a Marriage / Wedding kinda girl. she's in love with the idea of making a huge deal out of it to show everyone how much you care about someone and spending your life with them. Lilly: can she read?? does she know the concept of fanfiction??? questions that will forever go unanswered. no, but seriously though she'd read the most odd-yet-normal shit (eg. Fluff with a side of Murder) Ashley: Childhood Friends to Lovers, i don't know how to elaborate further. she just gives off that vibe. if we go deeper into her search history though there are some very intense Hurt/Comfort fics from her early to late teens Jessica: she's absolutely one of those crazy readers who will love the most desperate Whump fics ever on one day, then completely flip to Tooth Rotting Fluff on the other. it very much depends on her mood, mental wellbeing and whether she's angry at the world or not. most of the time not. so she just reads Fluff like 24/7, not that she'd tell anyone. (except Ashley, but that doesn't even count) this was kind of a difficult one because i blacked out the second i tried to think about what tags are out there, but i hope it was up to expectations 🫡
