What’s one of your most memorable battles?

Hm... I suppose people would like to hear about the battle that saw me unseated as reigning champion, yes?

It was quite an enjoyable battle. In the end it came down to both of our aces--my Hyacinth against my challenger's mismagius. I had a disadvantage, but even against a fairy-type, a garchomp is not a pokémon to be ignored. It came down to speed.

And a mismagius, generally, is just slightly faster than a garchomp, and Hyacinth had already taken a few hits from my challenger's purugly. She went down from a single dazzling gleam.

I was quite proud of my challenger--she fought to the very last, and it was clear she and her team loved each other dearly. I was happy to pronounce her champion. And she proved capable of handling the position's more serious duties, as well. She was an excellent student.

Prays, they dont usually get neither prayers nor praises, only invitations with lots of conditions , instead of the people fighting over if they where strongest or not (calling him all kinds of complimates in the way) they only recive what? Cultists? Mad men? Genocidal monsters?! They where happy at firts but that was a millenium ago the last of those orders he did was from a blond man they where a cultist? Yes , a mad man? of course , A genocidal monster? Kinda but their hatred to him was enough for giratina, the idea to get revenge was enough! ... He hurt them even... Yet he failed and flee , the kid seen better nicer? They where nice. Blond humans , another one has being praying for them , unlike Volo the new one was ...not greedy, there was a word for that ? Probabily, the new was a woman, she looked like the cultist, they felt his intensity yet she was like the witch? Calm like them , wise like them . A mix? Like "Z"? Either way the lady pray to them but dint request she only praise it was like a pray of their brothers , a praise about them not an unfair deal, it made them glad, being called "lord of antimatter" again was nice ... Big nice? wonderfull , yes that is the word , they where getting better.

My plans for my Justice League Canada series (if ever I manage to make such a series) regarding lineups and rosters on the team.

Issues #1-5: These first five issues serve as an introduction to the comic and to the Justice League Canada more broadly. The Justice League Detroit completely broke apart, and now it's the Justice League Canada! And the three new members of the team: Blue Beetle, Aqsarniit and The Angel of Dawn.

Issues #6-7: Booster Gold is added to the team. Introduced in the Blue Beetle's solo comic as a reluctant villian who gets redeemed and becomes a hero, Blue Beetle now insists the team add his buddy to the roster. Most of the team is against adding Booster to their ranks (knowing it'd be a PR nightmare for the already publically distrusted league if they recruited an ex-con), but Martian Manhunter insists they give him a chance.

So J'onn stages a test for Booster. He shapeshifts and pretends to be a supervillian, and he tests Booster's weaknesses. Can he overcome J'onn's death traps? Can he neutralize his super strength and telepathic powers? Can he resist the temptations a supervillian can offer (like unlimited wealth and power)? When the answer to these questions becomes clear, J'onn shapeshifts back and welcomes Booster onto the team!

Issue #7 is the story where J'onn finally departs from the League. After one last mission with them (and a tense press release where he defends the recruitment of Booster Gold), J'onn announces that he's leaving. He's off to go search for his brother, since he's heard rumours Ma'alefa'ak is in St Louis. And although he loves the Justice League, J'onn's brother comes first. He has faith in all of the leaguers present before him, and he knows they won't disappoint him.

Issues #8-13: These issues feature no shake ups in the team's lineup. Just our 7 members going on missions. Possibly we'd see an escalation in the Red Tornado/Cynthia Reynolds romance, or we'd get more character development for some of our cast.

Issues #14-15: The beginning of a new two part story arc, designed to introduce some characters who'll be relevant later. The Justice League Canada is called to investigate a weird disturbance over the skies of Vancouver, only to discover an alien invasion attempt by some renegade saturnians, led by K'os'che'i (although his name won't be revealed in this book until many issues from now, when Jemm joins the team).

In any case, The Justice League then has to deal with repelling a saturnian invasion of earth (just as the original Justice League had to deal with this years ago). And when in Vancouver, a new hero enters the scene: Guy Gardner, earth's newest Green Lantern! When a green lantern patrolling space is shot down by K'os'che'i's fleet, he lands on earth.

More specifically, he lands in the backyard of Guy Gardner, educational assistant for mentally disabled children! Guy Gardner proves himself to be pure of heart, and the dying Green Lantern passes the ring on to him. He had been considered for Green Lantern before, but Hal Jordan and John Stewart beat him to the punch. But now it's Guy Gardner's turn, and he's not gonna waste it!

Guy Gardner teams up with the Justice League Canada to help defend Vancouver (and the world at large) from K'os'che'i's invasion of earth. And together, the eight of them manage to repel the invasion! And when the invasion has successfully been repelled, the few human crooks who got roped into assisting the saturnians receive full prosecution from crown attorney richard raleigh (a man who will later join the Justice League in his superhero identity as The Red Bee).

Wow. Miss De La Rue certainly knows how to make an impression, hm...?

Cynthia has been to the Hearthome Super Contest Hall countless times--Fantina's prized venue always promised inspiration and an excellent show--but she's never seen the arena quite like this: festooned with glittery banners and garlands, glass and ice installations galore. Furthermore, the party already seems to be spilling out onto the surrounding grounds--winter be damned--and Cynthia can't help but grin as she catches sight of a competitive snowball fight, Pokemon and their impeccably-dressed trainers romping gleefully in the distance. (The champion barely fights off the mischievous urge to join their ranks--)

Looking good. Her heart feels so, so full in this moment.

Still quite taken by her life-altering experience with Pasio fashion, Cynthia's gala outfit provides an exquisite update to her favorite 'Renegade' Sygna Suit: a floor-length black dress with gold accents and dark red sleeves, complemented by glittering jewelry and dark-hued ribbons (as always) valiantly attempting to shape her sea of golden locks.

(The outfit is hardly weatherproof, but--even as her heels click confidently towards the entrance hall--the paragon remains unbothered, Sinnohan cold resistance and excitement coursing through her veins.)

One step onto the marbled floor is all it takes for Cynthia to lose her breath all over again, silvery eyes widening with wonder as a small gasp escapes her lips. Oh my. You've really outdone yourself this time...

For someone so used to the spotlight--crushing crowds and popping flashbulbs--she's left speechless in the best way, drinking in the fancy décor, highest fashion, and mingling attendees--some new, some familiar. (One look at this guest list would have the paparazzi swooning--)

But for now, the weight placed upon Cynthia's shoulders feels a little less exhausting. Her smile widens as a nervous event staffer arrives for introductions and that mandatory ID check, guest list tucked under an arm. She's actually, finally here.

This is going to be fun.

Cross Evo Arc All-in-One Finale 2

Now that the Battle Frontier is behind me, it's time for the second run of the Elite Four, the TRUE finale of Renegade Platinum, levels shockingly scaled perfectly for where my party happens to be (honestly the level curve in Renegade Platinum is SO impressively executed and balanced). I'm sure you don't want to meticulously comb through the details of the above image, so let me give you the rundown. The good news is that this time, we don't have to worry about prepping for TWENTY possible teams, as the Elite 4 members here don't have 4 potential teams that show up. The bad news is that among this mass of text is some pretty unfair stuff! The highlights:

Guillotine Gliscor and Explosion Metagross, oh boy. And these are just the tip of the iceburg of the struggles that lie ahead. So I cleared my team and took a look at my box of beautiful NFEs, and built a team from scratch as I tried to imagine handling each one of the Elite 4 members. You likely won't be surprised that the team ended up the exact same six reliable members.

Eirin is a must-have for obvious reasons, but most notably, she'll be leading against Aaron and Flint, ignoring the damage from Yanmega and Ninetales and setting up rocks. She also conveniently baits Fighting type moves which should reliably allow for switches into either Sukuna for Intimidates or Sekibanki for her Immunity.

I'd like to point out just how much defensive synergy these six have. Time and time again I've been rescued by pivoting between Sukuna and Remilia/Hina/Sekibanki. This allows me to continously get Intimidates off on big threats while taking no damage from what is usually Earthquake. Sukuna also reliably baits Electric type moves that Remilia can come in on and, thanks to Remilia''s solid 105 base Attack and 85 base Speed as well as the general strength of Earthquake, usually kill whatever threat instantly. Many an Electivire and Luxray have been dealt with this way. Sukuna ALSO frequently baits Psychic type attacks, which allow for free switches into the very frail but strong Yuuma. Though Eirin and Yuuma are weak to fighting, our two resists and one immunity are usually able to completely patch up that weakness - and that's not to mention the fact, as we saw last time in this challenge, Hina's bulk borders that of the gods.

This is going to be a wild ride. I prepped my team for Aaron, and with that, it begins.

Been chatting with pyras_teacup from AO3, and they were telling me about a Demon AU for Pokémon where Cynthia is the Demon Queen. So I had to draw it using her Renegade Sygna Suit outfit. I used Giratina's crest for her horns.

Volo's sudden reappearance in your life well over a century into the future should have likely been a more terrifying experience. Especially when his initial reaction to seeing you was to immediately section you off somewhere alone and ramble about how long he had waited to see you again. His hands held your wrists together tightly while he basically told you how lonely the years had been since you left for the modern era.

The blond made it clear that he had been waiting on you all this time, even having cast away his plans that he swore by in order to meet you once again. Asking as to how he had managed to live this long felt useless; he was simply always too good at keeping secrets.

Instead, you told him that you were already in a relationship. He was momentarily in denial, but you explained that it was with the man you had told him about while in Hisui. One that you never thought you would see again. Cyrus. It had been surprising to return home and find the very same man who left you in a messy state in a similar one.

He had clung to you when you showed up at the apartment door in your Survey Corps uniform. There was little belief in your story to him, but you seemed to be able to mildly convince him by telling him of his ancestor and his family's ties back to Hoenn. In exchange, he told you of how Giratina had suddenly forced him out of the Distortion World.

You recalled only then that you had cried to the legendary pokemon after everything had happened with Volo. The poor Renegade Pokemon appeared to attempt to repay you in some way. It was soon after that the two of you began to settle into some resemblance to the life you had led before everything. Of course, an interrogation was had between Cyrus and the International Police, but something had been struck between them to stop an arrest. Cynthia played a role, too, from your understanding.

There was something nice about returning to the high-stress life provided by Hisui and being in a relationship with a company president in the modern day. No more worrying about food or possibly being mauled by some upset pokemon while out on a survey. You could lounge around your apartment for days with little complaint from Cyrus, who just agreed with Saturn's plans to turn Galactic into what it claimed to be. Everything seemed peaceful and relaxed. A complete change from what you left and were dropped into.

Now, however, that peace has come to an end. Volo announced himself proudly. Cyrus was obviously just considered an obstacle to him. You tried to think of a solution to this that would not involve fighting or possible bloodshed. The blond only pressed you closer to his body. Warmth sunk into you.

Well, you had an idea, but…

Cyrus and Volo likely would not be fans of it.

“No,” the blue-haired man said firmly while shooting a glare at the blond sitting on the couch, “… If I'm to believe your story, he nearly killed you! I will not allow him to be anywhere around you.” You felt sheepish. Apparently, you had read the situation well in your predictions. Suggesting an addition of Volo to your relationship had not gone well. “In fact — Leave, now,” Cyrus kept a harsh look on Volo. You had not expected him to be so protective of you.

Volo's hand grasped your wrist tightly. He closed his eyes for a moment. “Do you think someone like yourself is worthy of someone chosen by Arceus?” he questioned as he pulled you more into him. His heavy coat shifted to reveal more of the black sweater underneath. That silver ornament laid on his chest caught the light for a moment. “I will not let you have them,” Volo threatened, and he fully held you to his chest again. His eerily slow heartbeat echoed in your ears as you tried not to think so much about it. “… Only someone with the blood of the ancient Sinnoh people is worthy of being… Someone like myself,” his finger traced your jawline, “Do you really want to be with someone like him?”

You felt momentarily captured by his actions, but a grumble from Cyrus brought you back to reality. The Galactic Boss looked ready to kill the blond for daring to do such a thing. You forgot his jealous streak, you supposed. His younger years often reflected his fears of losing you to someone traditionally appealing, like Volkner. It re-emerged to counter this new contender. “Yes,” you replied, “I love him.” Volo was genuinely taken aback by your words. His visible eye grew wide while his body tensed. Cyrus shifted to rest his forehead in one of his hands. You moved away from Volo's hold during his shock. What could you say here? Both seemed intent on keeping you to themselves. In terms of a possible normal life, you knew Cyrus held that. Volo... was himself.

“... I do still like you, though…” you sighed, wishing to rub your temples from the building headache. Memories of time spent together with Volo in Hisui entered your head. You had said something about understanding his ambitions during the confrontation on Mount Coronet. But, you were unable to support his plans. Cyrus's intentions haunted you. Making a new world to escape the problems of this one simply was not the solution. Whatever love you had felt during intimate moments alone with the blond had almost vanished, yet knowing that he had waited over a century for you brought something back. “If you say that I can't be with him and have to be with someone of ancient Sinnoh blood, I know someone who fits that, too, that isn't you,” you tried something that might work.

Both froze. Volo's eye narrowed, while Cyrus's expression grew even more unamused somehow.

“I'm pretty sure Cynthia is still single,” you shrugged.

Both seemed to look at each other in some wordless conversation. Volo was well aware of his descendant, while Cyrus was clearly mortified at the thought of you running off with her, of all people.

“… Perhaps… We could try this “arrangement” out,” Cyrus relented, “However, he may not sleep here. I would prefer him not being here in general, if possible.” You felt as if he were talking about a stray pokemon and not a living person.

“I'm inclined to agree,” Volo's smile seemed strained, “… I would not wish to stay here anyway.”

Well, it appeared that a new situation had emerged in your life.
