The world of calligraphy
Tumblr media
Calligraphy is the art of more than beautiful handwriting technique forming by hands and arranging them well. It is not just about putting text or using letters on paper, it’s about dressed up letters with some form of decoration.
The three fundamental calligraphy tools are:
1. page: the writing surface
2. ink: any liquid color for application
3. nib: (or brush) on a handle
Calligraphy continues to flourish in the forms of wedding and event invitations, font design and typography, original hand-lettered logo design, religious art, announcements, graphic design and commissioned calligraphic art, cut stone inscriptions, and memorial documents.
Everything is possible with practice
Practicing will allow you to gain experience quickly and easily, since this can be done anywhere, with minimal materials and little pre-planning. Simply writing with any instrument on any paper available for practice. The most important thing is that you gain a steady hand and an understanding of how to vary your line widths.
You can also learn by trying to recreate the work of others. Get images of calligraphy, either from the internet or calligraphy books, and cover the image in tracing paper. Write on the tracing paper, trying to recreate the strokes of the original. If you intend to use ink, be aware that it may bleed through the paper and prepare accordingly. If you want to practice a little more formally, you can set up a grid to practice with.
Penkraft gives you the opportunity to learn something that is different and creative. It is one of the leading organisations in Thane and Mumbai which specializes in tutoring the trainers who further train the students. It is ideal for anyone who is looking to learn calligraphy as Penkraft also provides various art & craft courses classes and handwriting improvement courses. When A Picture Doesn’t Cut It
Color and shape aren’t the most important thing when choosing a fountain pen, of course. FP users are also concerned with how the pen writes, including how it sounds (yea, for real), how it feels (sometimes called feedback) when writing. There are questions of scratchiness vs smoothness, and how fine and “F nib” really, or how much railroading you might get with a flex pen.  So of course, the only way to share this sort of information is through videos. The video above is from SBREBrown, who is very well known in the community for doing long, in depth video reviews. He shows the pen, and shares his feelings and views on the pen. He also shows video of him using the pen, so you can see and hear how the pen writes. I’ve already linked to a video from Goulet Pens, a store started by Brian Goulet. He puts out educational videos (how to use a FP, how to clean one, how to fill, etc) as well as videos of products he carries in his online pen and ink store.
Another type of pen videos are just fun videos of people using fountain pens, showing off handwriting skills. (Example: The Most Satisfying Calligraphy Video Compilation! #5 , which isn’t all fountain pen calligraphy) While not really informationally driven like review and educational videos are, these the ones that get popular outside of the community. People who don’t use fountain pens, still like to watch up close videos of people doing calligraphy, usually with a nice soundtrack. These represent the most “spreadable” of the content produced by the fountain pen community. Even people who don’t have any interesting in using or owning fountain pens enjoy watching people write with them.

4 reasons why you should learn calligraphy
Tumblr media
Cut-Nib Calligraphy is the art of forming beautiful symbols by hand and arranging them well. It's a set of skills and techniques for positioning and inscribing words so they show integrity, rhythm, harmony, some sort of ancestry, and creative fire. Learning calligraphy is just like learning an art, it engulfs you in the serenity of beauty. You can even say that reading calligraphy is the closest you can get to hearing music with your eyes. Learning calligraphy is a prize in itself, but if you want some solid reasons to learn calligraphy here is the list of the top 5 reasons.
It Trains Your Character  If you think writing an essay is difficult, next time try copying out a paragraph from a book in calligraphy. The amount of focus that is required, aiming for consistency in every alphabet, says it all. Discipline in practice, patience in progress. In a world full of attention diversions, and we increasingly expect instant gratification and can wait for anything at all, calligraphy sharpens our concentration, focus, and patience.
It Helps You Slow Down and Thinks As many calligraphers would put it calligraphy is not anything like regular handwriting. You don't blitz through it like a doctor would, or like when you trying to finish up that final sentence in your essay before times up. Calligraphy requires you to slow down and observe every single letter you create. Some people say calligraphy is like an art, I say, calligraphy is like drawing with letters.
It can be Therapeutic Studies have shown that writing, and by extension calligraphy, has a positive psychological effect on the writer. Especially in the cases of patients suffering from life-threatening or terminal illnesses, people struggling with psychological problems, or even just stressed out people.
It is Beautiful  All of us appreciate art in its many ways. Whether it's in the form of Picasso paintings, a blood-red sky as the sun sets over the horizon, or a beautiful piece of calligraphy. I think it's safe to say that a majority of society, while they may not have a personal interest in calligraphy, can appreciate it as an art form. There's no need to seek out a hobby simply because of societal approval, but if you have an interest in it, well, what are you waiting for? You too can create beautiful calligraphy. A TRUE REFLECTION OF EXOTIC INDIA - MADHUBANI PAINTING
Tumblr media
Madhubani Painting There are many ways in which we can showcase our creativity. But the ancient people had very few ones, one of them is painting. People of different regions devised different forms of paintings. The Madhubani art form was originated from the Mithila region of Bihar, India. It is also called a Mithila painting.
Madhubani art was created by the women of various communities. The uniqueness of this art form is the geometric patterns, which are truly eye-catching. For this painting, you can not only use the brushes but also other instruments like twigs, nib-pens, fingers, matchsticks, etc. mostly the scenes depicted in these paintings are men and their association with nature, deities, and scenes from the ancient epics, etc.
There are some things unique to Madhubani's painting. No empty space is left in these paintings; it is filled with animals, flowers, birds, geometric designs, religious plants, etc. thus, the complete painting is filled with some of the other things. There are 5 distinct styles of painting in Madhubani. They are, tantric, katchni, godna, bharni and gohbar. This art form has received National and International recognition. The skills of this art have been passed on through centuries and more or less the style and content have remained the same. Because of this, Madhubani art has got the coveted Geographical Indication status. Hence, it can be called a true reflection of exotic India.
Because of these Madhubani paintings, the scenes from the ancient epics, weddings, and royal courts have been preserved efficiently; something which other art forms have hardly been able to do. Although, Madhubani painting is not as declining as the other art forms, still, the coming generations must learn and master this beautiful painting style which completely fulfills our creativity and satisfaction.
