How To Set Up An Ao3 Exchange
One of the first things I say whenever anyone asks me about running exchanges is that if you have more than about 30 people in the exchange, do NOT try to match it by hand. That is so much work and takes so much time. Use Ao3's matching algorithm. And people say sure, and then they look at how Ao3 works and they go uhhhhhhhhhh I think we can make a google form work. Because google forms are reasonably intuitive to make work, and Ao3 exchanges are— not.
But the thing is, once you understand the underlying logic for Ao3 collections, they are not that bad, and seriously I can't overstate the benefit of having Ao3 do the matching for you. That's like the difference between 80 hours of curating data as it comes in and then matching it (what happened with hand-matching 325 people for holiday exchange), or 2 hours of double-checking the matching (what happened with matching 125 people for 48 hour exchange). You have to put in extra work to get an Ao3 exchange set up, but it super pays off in the end. So! Here is an intro to how Ao3 exchanges work on the back end. This explanation assumes you know how to sign up for an exchange because I've posted ones like that before, for example, here.
Let's get into it.
THE COLLECTION
The first thing you want to do is set up your exchange collection. If you go to your right-hand drop-down menu, you click on My Collections.
That brings you to every collection you have ever made, and you go to to the right and click "New collection".
That brings you into the back end of the collection. You want to go down and put in a name for the collection that will be the url (so no spaces), a display name, an email for the collection to email when something happens to the collection (this will be public, so use a fandom email), and a basic description.
There's places there to do custom icons and headers, but those are optional, but you can go in and make your exchange pretty later if you want!
We are still in the "setting up" stage of the exchange, so once we go to preferences, you want to select all the tick boxes and make it look like this.
Moderated means that you'll have to manually approve things to be added to the collection (not absolutely necessary but can keep out trolls, and it also means that you can manually check that gifts meet minimums before you let them in to the exchange), Closed means that no one can submit things to the collection yet (once you open your exchange you de-select this), Unrevealed means that any works in the collection will show up as "mystery works" and not be readable (so you keep it unrevealed until the posting date, so people can post early but not spoil the surprise), anonymous means that all authors will be anonymous (this depends on if you have an anonymous portion of your exchange, so it's optional), "show random works" just means that you get a selection of different works when people visit the collection at different times, "send a message to the collection email" is optional but is useful for moderation (like if you're checking people off a list when their gifts get delivered), and "type of challenge" you want to be set to "gift exchange".
and then on this page the only other things of concern are places where you can put in an FAQ, a description and some instructions, but those are all optional! I normally host the FAQ on tumblr, so I just say "go check the tumblr at [link]".
And then you hit the submit button.
Now we get into the nitty-gritty.
First up is some optional stuff— you can add in the times that you're going to do things! This is useful for communication, but not necessary. We're still setting everything up, so you do not want Sign-Ups to be open, that is only selected once you have everything ready to go.
Then scrolling down, you get to Requests and Offers.
This is where you specify the absolute minimum ships or characters that you want people to give you to sign up. 10 is the maximum Ao3 allows, so I always set it to 10 for both "allowed", which is the maximum the site will allow. And required is the low number. I usually set it to a minimum of three, to make sure someone doesn't sign up with "i will only write one ship" or something. This way, people will have to do a minimum of three separate requests and offers.
The "requests visible" is part of the back end thing, and it's up to you if you want to select it or not. If you keep it unselected, the only person who will be able to see requests is the mods, and eventually each person will see their assignment. If you select it, people will be able to browse everyone's requests and both maybe target offers so they can write for a specific person, and be able to find treats (extra bonus gifts) to write for people whose requests they like. Each side has its own benefits or negatives, it's up to you which ones you want to go with!
And here we get into more of the matching info! Let's look at Request Settings.
Now this is what the settings would look like for a multi-fandom exchange. The "details/description" box you want to make mandatory because that is where people will put their DNW and their prompts (and you absolutely want to make sure everyone has a DNW), and the url is an optional one which lets people link an off-site letter on google docs or dreamwidth.
Fandom allowing up to three fandoms means that people can do crossovers if they want (or tag a request something like 3rd life/hermitcraft), and if I wanted to say that people had to request 3 separate servers I would say "must be unique" but I'm okay if people sign up with three Dream SMP relationships in this idea hypothetical exchange, so I'm not selecting the unique button.
I'm ignoring the characters button cause that's extra complication, the only other thing I want to look at is the relationship button. A minimum of 1 ship per request (and there's a minimum of three requests), and let's say you can go up to 20, so people can request LOTS of different ships. I did select "must be unique" so someone can't sign up with the same ship three times. The "allow any" button is off, which means that I will have to select relationships that fit under the fandom that I selected one up, I can't request Shubble/Niki Nihachu (Origins), and put it with a fandom request for Hermitcraft. This has set it so that the absolutely minimum someone can sign up with is 3 relationships (3 requests * 1 relationship each), and the absolute maximum is 200 relationships (10 requests * 20 relationships each).
Requests will look much the same, except I am not putting down details/description or a URL, because I'm not letting people submit requests about what ship they "really" want to match on, they are going to be equally matchable to everyone they offered. Some exchanges will let you submit a requests DNW, but honestly that is so much extra work for the mods, I would not recommend it unless you think it's necessary to stop people from dropping their gifts later.
Okay, so now we take a brief digression into a tag set.
THE TAG SET
Okay so basically a tag set is an extra set of sliders that lets you fine-tune your exchange. If you do not use a tag set, when people sign up they will be able to use every canon tag on the archive, and only canon tags. Which is a LOT of tags, but when I ran an exchange without a tag set there were multiple times of hitting non-canon relationships or tags. But it's also a definite extra complication, tag sets are extra fiddly work and they are even less intituive. If you just want to go without a tag set, skip down to the matching segment. If you do want to avoid hitting people signing up with non-canon tags, keep reading.
I'm gonna say right off the bat that tag sets are the single most like "oh I am getting into the GUTS of the machine" part of running Ao3 exchanges, but if you can make them work they can super streamline both the sign-up (for your participants ) and the matching process (for you).
Oh boy, tag sets. Here we start getting into how exchanges start squeezing the interface to make it do what we want it to. I'm using a tag set, so first I clicked on the "tag set" url there and I made my tag set, and then I came back and selected its name from the drop-down menu on the collection. I leave all the tick boxes open, because selecting them will again restrict you to canon tags, and we specifically want to be open to noncanon tags both because of issues like "ijevin & tiny tim" not being a canon tag, and because the way MCYT tags are wrangled and made canon does not work for how the exchange machine reads information. We specifically want a collection of non-canon tags tuned for our needs. More on that later.
So, I started a new tag set, and I'm over there on that screen, looking at it. What does that screen look like?
Okay so, part of the appeal of a tag set is that your participants are able to specify the difference between "Rendog & InTheLittleWood" and "Rendog/InTheLittleWood". You don't have to worry about people getting undesired shipping, because people were specifying if they wanted shipping when they signed up. You can reduce a great deal of people getting matched badly by using relationship matching, because most of the time even if people want a Tommy-centric fic, there's a pretty big difference between people who want "Tommy & Technoblade" and "Tommy & Dream". By specifying who you want the gift to be about, you remove a big hurdle of matching right away. That's why most exchanges run on relationship matching.
However, if there are 37 people on a given server, that's something like 2,600 possible combinations of people if you include both romantic and platonic, and that's before you start getting into trios, and that's just way too many tags for the mods to enter manually. So what you do is run a nomination period, and for a week or two weeks you go to all your participants and you go "do you want to sign up for this exchange? Nominate the tags you want to use now! If it doesn't get nominated, it can't be used!" And then people head to the tag set to nominate.
So, on this page, you want "visible tag list" to be selected, because you want people to see what's already been nominated so they don't duplicate, and you want "currently taking nominations" to be selected because you will be taking those nominations instead of doing them all yourself.
So you have to set up limits on those nominations.
The point of taking nominations is to make matching easier, so people normally use the same fandom and relationship limits as they are going to use on the sign-up, to make sure there aren't dozens of tags in the tag set that nobody's using, just cluttering up the space. It also helps stop the issue where someone sees a tag in the tag set, goes "oh man I love that ship" and signs up, but its an extra tag that no one intended to offer, so they don't match to anyone. That's why sometimes people keep the amount of tags that can be nominated low, I've seen people limit this to 10 tags, or even 7, so that's up to you.
And you save, and now when you link your participants the tag set, they will have a "nominate" button.
They will hurry over to press that button, and then they will see a page that looks like this.
This is a thing where you absolutely want to give your participants detailed instructions, because what Ao3 will try to do is auto-fill people's nominations with canonical tags. WE DO NOT WANT CANONICAL TAGS. CANONICAL TAGS ARE THE ENEMY OF EXCHANGES. CANONICAL TAGS ARE THE ENEMY OF MCYT EXCHANGES IN PARTICULAR.
Remember back when we clicked the button that says tags have to be unique? The canonical tag for Philza & Technoblade doesn't have a server on it, and people might want to be requesting that relationship for SMPEarth, Dream SMP, Origins SMP, or arguably even QSMP. If you only have the canonical tag, people can only request a specific dynamic once, for one server. And that is a problem for every situation where people interacted on multiple servers, and with the network of overlaps that is Empires/SOS/3rd Life/Hermitcraft and DSMP/Origins/SMPEarth/QSMP, that's going to lead to unhappy participants. So you tell people to nominate the ship and also "disambiguate" it, and add the server in parentheses. And then all your participants will hit the button to submit, and you will go into the "review nominations" button, and you will let those tags into the tag set.
Now I just distributed the tag set to a couple friends, so let's look at what this looks like behind the scenes.
Brace yourself, it's gonna be wild, but I believe we can get through it.
Now here is a perfectly standard look at tag set nominations after a few people have gotten into the tag set. This is why they pay tag mods the big bucks.
As you can see, there are a few things to be gathered. The first things is a bunch of people used the canon tags (because that's what Ao3 tries to get them to do), someone else nominated an x-reader ship, we have one tag there twice (spelled differently), and the tags are Piped (they have both the person's tax name and the username). (You can let tags in that are Piped, but I find that it makes the tag set harder to read, and usually exchanges are character-focused unless you're writing video blogging rpf anyways, so I ask people to submit tags unpiped, using usernames.) And for the tags that were nominated in a way that I want (unpiped, and disambiguated so they're unique), Ao3 is trying to get me to use the canon tag. But I don't want the canon tag, I want a unique tag, with the server on it, with no pipes. So.
So were I moderating the tag set, after a few minutes it would look like this.
That's going through and disambiguating the tags (adding the server, which I could tell because of the fandom it was nominated under), removing the piping and using the usernames instead of tax names, and then re-ordering the names so they're alphabetical so people can find them on the list later, rejecting the x-reader tag, rejecting the duplicate and allowing the one that's spelled correctly through. Amazing. I have tags that I want to use (I did some other tags that were ready to go in other fandoms as well). I hit submit. Am I ready to go?
Not yet! First, associating tags. If you accepted the tags through the tag nomination process, you will have a button up there that says Review Associations.
If you click on this, on the back end, anything that you accepted under a previously accepted fandom will be helpfully paired up with this fandom, with Ao3 trying to say "ah, does it go here?"
You just go down the list, and if is trying to put it in the right fandom, then you click the box, and at the bottom of the page you press submit, and then there's your tags sorted out to your fandoms! Bingo! Are you done now?
No.
Because tag sets are the most complicated part of exchanges.
So. if you open up your tag set, and you scroll down to "Unassociated characters and relationships" there are a bunch of tags that are are lost, Ao3 doesn't know where to put them. This happens when a) you accepted a tag that was associated with a fandom that hadn't been accepted yet, b) it was trying to associate it with a basket fandom that you don't want to associate it with so you couldn't accept the suggested associations (for example: Philza hardcore tags will show up in Dream SMP but you don't want to associate them there), c) sometimes Ao3 just breaks, spaghetti code d), you had manually added these tags on the Edit page— more on that later. So all of these tags you have to manually associate.
You hit the Edit button on the tag set, and scroll down to the bottom, to "tag associations", and start selecting where tags go.
Honestly this is a great time to be listening to a stream or a podcast or something, and then you have the tag set open in another tab so you know what all the unassociated tags are, and you just go down the list like a databasing machine. It is not hard, cause you disambiguated each tag with its own server, it's just time consuming. Note. This is why people go in and accept tags regularly during the nomination period, because if you do this all at the end you've got a BIG job ahead of you.
So, you turned on your VOD playlist and you associated all your tags, and all the tags are where they are supposed to go. You have a beautiful tag set.
But wait, you say, looking at this beautiful tag set. Some of those tags look at little different. What is the "Dream smp and only dream smp" that a couple of them have?
Well.
You see.
Ao3 designed tag sets to work a certain way, and nobody uses them that way. It turns out that "Quackity/Wilbur Soot (Dream SMP)" is a wrangled canon tag, and the system goes "ah, I know where this goes, this is a sub-tag of the major tag, and the top-level tag is Video Blogging RPF, so it goes under Video Blogging RPF, as all MCYT tags do. I am very smart. I have stuck this Dream SMP tag under Video Blogging RPF. I am a good machine". And then you go AUUUUUUUUGH, and then you turn up the podcast a little louder, and then you sit down and you delete the old tag and you write out a new tag that the system doesn't know what to do with, and it goes uhhhhhhh and sticks it in "unassociated tags" and then you go in again and you manually associate it into the right server.
Edit in 2024: I use (DFE) at the end of the tag now, because it's shorter.
It's not hard, it's just time consuming. Shouting at the tag set like STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO as it helpfully tries to stick dsmp tags in SMPearth and you wrestle it out of SMPEarth and into the right fandom bucket.
Deep breath moment. Honestly that's the most fiddly part of a fiddly process, so if you can get through this you're absolutely golden.
Anyways. You got clean disambiguated unique tags, and then you associated them in the right spot, and then you found the ones that got sorted to the wrong spot and you associated them yourself, and now you have a beautiful tag set ready to go. It's a thing of beauty. Shed a tear. Your participants can select from anything in this tag set, and you know they want to use these specific relationships, because they submitted them to you. What next?
THE MATCHING
Okay. You have your tag set set up and it's accepting nominations. Your participants are filling it out right now. You go back to your collection. it's time to tell it how to match.
This is the "minimum number to match" pane, and this is the minimum numbers to make a successful match. You want 1 for Fandom, and 1 for Relationship, and that's it. People will show up to the machine as a viable match as long as they have submitted a fandom and relationship that matches someone else's offered fandom and relationship.
This is a minimum viable exchange. You're ready to go. As soon as your tag set is done (or immediately if you're not using a tag set), you're ready to go back and open your exchange to sign-ups.
Congratulations!
FURTHER TWEAKING
HOWEVER. There is more that you can do. For example, do you want to allow people to request or opt into NSFW? There's an easy way to do that! First thing is you go back to your tag set, and you scroll down to the "ratings" section that you've been ignoring.
You select G and E, and that way, if people are opting into explicit that means they're okay with NSFW, and if they only select G, that means they only want a non-explicit piece.
Then on the collection you switch the requests and offers sections to include a place to specify a rating.
You want them to definitely specify at least one, and if you maximum allowed is 2, people can opt into both and say "i'm good with whatever"!
Then you scroll down to the matching section, and you tweak that to make sure that people will match on Fandom, Relationship, and at least one Rating.
Bingo. You now have a toggle to turn NSFW on and off.
But a lot of people like to match by TYPE of gift too, specifying if they want art or fic or playlist or web weave etc. How do you do that? Ah, at this point you are master of all you survey, and you can make tag sets do absolutely anything you want. You go back to the tag set and you scroll down to "characters".
Now we were matching on relationships, so the character box is unused. And it lets you put in your own tags. So what you do is you start to add in custom tags.
And then you go back to the Collection settings, and on the requests and the offers you go in to the "characters" section and you say "must select at least one, can select up to six".
And then, you guessed it— you go back to "minimum number to match" and you set that "characters" tab to 1 minimum, 6 maximum. Now people who specified that they wanted Art can be matchable to artists who Offered Art. You have unlimited power, the world is at your fingertips.
There's even more customization that you can do, too! There's "additional tags", which is entirely custom tags you add yourself, that can be anything from specifying if people want fluff or horror or hurt/comfort etc— with the recursive exchange we used it to specify the works people were recursing— I'm considering using it for holidays with the holiday exchange. You can let people opt in or out of major archive warnings by selecting "archive warnings" as a thing that's in the tag set and that you're matching for. Once you understand how the underpinnings of how the machine works, you can wrestle it into almost any shape you want.
So. Whew. That's how exchanges work, under the hood. When I say that this is significantly easier than hand matching the holiday exchange, I ask you to picture just how complicated hand matching gets. Go forth! Thrive! Set up exchanges if you want! The world is your oyster!
Feel free to message me if you have further questions.

Note
totally not someone you know from the discord nope not at all but may i request a lil romantic/cute thing of US! Sans :3
I see you person I definitely don’t know.
The first picture you take together of the two of you, he’ll have it custom-made into a one thousand-piece puzzle. Then he’ll put it together, spray it with a glue to keep it together, and frame it.
He’ll do something similar with a lot of pictures you take together. He’ll include them as stand ins for game pieces, turn them into puzzles, or even use them as part of a puzzle box.
Keeps a notebook-turned-scrapbook about you. Yes, he’ll memorize the important things, but he also likes you and being crafty. Combining his two favorite things feels like a no-brainer to him.
Expect a lot of hand made gifts.
Spontaneous! Kidnappings!
In a good way.
It's spontaneous to you. Not your boss. He'll have a date planned out in advance and stealthily set up for you to leave work early. He'll show up with a bouquet of your favorite flowers (or favorite color of flowers if you don't have a specific flower you like) and pull you away for a surprise date.
He LOVES cooking together.
It doesn't have to be a flawless meal. In truth, he enjoys the chaos of just throwing things together and seeing how it turns out. Good or bad, if it's made with love, he'll merrily chow down on it.
Active. Unless you are physically incapable of running, he's pushing you to do morning runs with him. It's good for your physical and mental health.
He wants to live a long, long time with you, so you have to take care of yourself! Gripe and grumble all you want, he WILL drag you out if he has to. Being healthy is non-negotiable for him, and he considers it the bare minimum to being a functioning adult.
If you need help to get there--he's got your back! He'll be your personal cheerleader, coach, and dietician. Whatever you need to help you live your best life.
(If it ever gets too much, just ask Stretch for help. He knows breaks are every bit as important as the work.)
Hammock cuddles.
Specifically, either in their attic with the skylight to see the stars, or on the roof if it's a pleasant enough night. He's a big fan of the swaying motion a hammock makes, and getting to cuddle so close to you at the same time? He couldn't ask for anything better.
Physically affectionate.
Hand holding, side hugs, arm-links, head bumps, lap-sitting, etc. He's all for it.
Cannot sit still unless he's receiving affection; even then it's on a timer. Would rather give than receive affection because of how much energy he has to burn.
Has a goodbye routine. He needs a forehead kiss, to wish you a good day, and for you to promise you'll drink water. If the routine is broken or not met, the whole day feels off to him.
Hiking!
If you're too out of shape for some of the views he wants to show you, he will carry you. He's not letting you miss out on the BEST spot to watch meteor showers.
Matching outfits. Because all the cool couples have them.

Kinkmas Masterlist ❄️ Day 2
“A coupon book? Are you kidding me?!”
Taehyung merely gazes at you with that annoyingly calm expression of his, the one you loathe, while you pry the booklet out of the box, holding it by the edges as if its very existence offends you. Which it kind of does, seeing as how it’s a gift from your least favorite coworker. And a fucking cheap one at that. This man waltzes around in designer clothes, gets ridiculously expensive haircuts, and drives an overpriced high end luxury vehicle. In your line of work as pharma reps, image is everything. And yet this is the Secret Santa gift he gives you?!
“I made it myself. They say the best gifts come from the heart,” he informs you with a slight pout of his plump lips, brushing his honeyed blond locks out of his face.
“I’d buy that if I thought you had a heart,” you retort. Kim Taehyung is a master manipulator. He knows exactly how to play your customers. It’s why he’s consistently one of the two top reps at your company.
But that other top rep? Is you. And you’re too smart to fall for his wounded puppy routine.
Taehyung rolls his eyes. “Just take a look at what’s in there,” he insists, pointing with the hand holding his cocktail, making the ice clink against the glass. He props himself against one of the chairs in front of your desk, the sleeves on his black shirt rolled up to display sinewy forearms that flex as he raises his drink to his lips. Despite your disdain for this man, you have to hand it to him - even in a simple button-down and slacks tonight, he still looks rather luxurious.
The revelry of the holiday party still raging throughout the floor is slightly muted in here with the door half-shut. You’d ducked into your office to escape that skeevy HR rep from the fifth floor who kept complimenting your dress a little too much, only to be surprised when Taehyung had followed you in, the silver gift box in his large hands as shiny as the rings adorning his fingers.
Curiosity gets the better of you and you flip through the book. The coupons are simple, just stark white text on black paper. Taehyung wanders around your desk, perching on the corner so he can observe you closely while you read.
“‘Good for one Starbucks run.’ Does that mean you’re buying, or does that mean you’ll go but make me pay?”
“Didn’t realize I had to spell it out for you, but that means I’d buy.”
His condescending tone makes you sneer. “Mmm. I should hope so. Oh, now come on - ‘Good for one hour of mentoring’?” You give him a look.
“What?” The corner of his mouth twists into a tiny smirk. “That’s actually a priceless deal. I wouldn’t give my sales secrets away to just anyone for free.”
“You’re unbelievable. Congratulations on doing the absolute bare minimum for my Christmas g-” You break off as you turn to the last coupon in the thin book. Reread the words several times. Then glance up at your coworker. “I take it back. Thanks for giving me a completely useless gift.”
Taehyung’s eyes narrow. “I beg your pardon?”
“Why would you give me a coupon that’s no good?” And you hold up the final piece of paper, upon which is inscribed, ‘Good for one mindblowing orgasm, no strings attached.’
“No good?!” His pitch rises just as his eyebrow does. “That’s a serious offer.”
“I’m not doubting that you’re offering, Taehyung,” you purr, voice smooth as silk. “I’m doubting that you can guarantee it.”
He doesn’t respond to that, just taps his glass with one long finger while his dark eyes study your face. Then he stands and walks towards the door. An insult is on the tip of your tongue as you watch him retreat, until you realize he’s not leaving.
He’s locking the door.
You stay silent as he slowly strolls back around your desk. There’s a charge in the air as he places his hands on the arm rests of your chair and leans over until you’re face to face. “Would you like a free sample?” he murmurs, lips close enough to yours that he inhales your shocked gasp. “I’m feeling… generous.”
It’s not necessarily that you want to fuck your annoying coworker. It’s just that you can’t pass up an opportunity to prove him wrong, especially about something he’d brag about like this.
That’s what you try to convince yourself, anyway, as you reach out and roll the top button of his shirt between your fingers. “Go on, then.”
He wastes no time, taking you by the hand and pulling you into his arms. His lips are firmer than they look, keenly sucking your bottom lip into his mouth and lapping at it. You whimper, melting against him, making him laugh.
“I knew you’d be easy like this,” he hums, one hand sliding under your thigh to lift it, wrap it around him. “Like putty in my hands.”
“Fuck off,” you grumble roughly. The heat behind your words isn’t anger. It’s pure, unbridled lust, finally released after years of being pent-up. You’ll likely regret this in the morning, but right now, all you want is him. And he clearly wants you too, judging by the sizeable bulge you keep rubbing against. “Don’t you have something you should be doing right now? Something to prove?”
“So impatient,” he clucks, shaking his head. “Fine. You wanna get right down to it?” His hands slide under your skirt as he cocks a brow. You nod, and he grips the waistband of your stockings, pulling them to the floor as he sinks to his knees. He peels your panties off next, and after you step out of them, tucks the sodden satin into his pocket with a wicked grin.
“Pervert,” you hiss, trying to hide your delight.
Your coworker just smirks harder as he arranges himself on his back. When you don’t move from where you stand, he tips his head to give you a questioning look. “Are you waiting for an invitation, or….”
You drop down, shins pressing into the carpet on either side of his head. “God, I can’t wait to smother you.”
“Then have at it almmmmph.” With very little patience, you lower yourself, cutting off his retort as your cunt rubs against the lower half of his face. His lips kiss against yours rather gently, but then his tongue slides out, wiggling over your clit with stunning strength before he sucks the bud into his mouth, and you nearly topple over in surprise.
“Fuck!” Hand slapping against your desk, you struggle to hold yourself upright, the tough fibers of your office’s cheap carpet scratching at your knees. He does the wiggle move over and over until your eyes start to roll back in your head. “So good, Taehyung!”
It feels unnatural to praise your coworker. Thankfully for once, he doesn’t respond with his signature smirk or a smartass comment. Instead, he simply hums, burying his face further as he fucks you with his slippery tongue.
Taehyung’s strong fingers dig into your thighs, urging you to slide forward. Groaning, you start to rock, shamelessly grinding against his mouth. “Yes, just like that!”
He replaces his tongue with one of his long fingers, searching for and finding your sweet spot with uncanny speed. As his finger strokes rapidly, you mewl like a helpless kitten, and he laughs. “What did I say? Like putty.”
“And what did I say? Get on with it!” you pant, doubling over until your palms hit the floor. In this position, your clit lines up perfectly with his lips, and he pulls the aching nub back into his mouth. “I was promised ah, shit, oh my god!” Your taunt falls apart as Taehyung quickly wrings an orgasm from you. You cry out, hand threading through his caramel locks while you ride out your high on his soaked face.
Collapsing onto your elbows, you try to catch your breath, jumping in shock when Taehyung slaps your ass. “Hey!”
“That means ‘get off,’” he deadpans, shimmying out from under you.
“No thanks, just did.”
Taehyung merely gazes at you with that irksome blank look. “Was that sample to your liking?” he asks, wiping his chin with your panties before pushing them back into his pocket.
You shrug, the picture of nonchalance. “It was satisfactory. I suppose.”
“Good. Merry Christmas,” his tongue caresses your name like it caressed your clit. “When you’re ready to cash those in, you know where to find me.” Turning on his heel, he grabs what remains of his drink and exits your office.
As the door closes behind him, you flop bonelessly into your chair, relief washing over you, because you were two seconds away from offering to suck his cock. And you're already pretty embarrassed at how fast he was able to get you off. There’s only so much shame and regret you’re capable of processing at once.
The coupon book lies open on your desk. You glance at the orgasm coupon for a moment. Something dawns on you. Grabbing the book, you hastily roll your stockings back on, and then leave your office, heading for the copier room. You may not have proven him wrong, but you’ve won anyway.
What good salesman forgets to add ‘Limit one per customer?’

Sign Up Walkthrough (Hatboy Exchange)
Signups are open! Here is a guide on how to sign up for the exchange.
To start your Signup, go to the Collection Page during the signup period (June 2nd-16th 2024) and click on "Signup Form".
Requests
We start the signups with what you'd like to get as a gift. After a general blurb about how the signups work, you will get to the form itself. You must choose two separate requests (up to five relationships are allowed per request). So if you'd like only two different relationships, put one on each request form. Otherwise, list up to five per request. You can add up to 10 separate requests which means you can request up to 50 pairings.
The form above is what it looks like when you scroll to the first request. You MUST choose fandom (there is only one to choose) and then go down to relationships. You choose between 1-5 requests on each form. If you aren't particular about what you receive as a gift, you can click on "Any Relationship". Be aware that if you do click on that, you are giving your gift giver the freedom to write or draw whatever they want as long as they adhere to your DNWs. Please be absolutely sure that is what you want before you click it.
Please be as descriptive as possible about your DNWs and triggers. They cannot be enforced if they are not explicitly stated.
Links: Links are for letters, prompt ideas, more detailed DNWs, information or tags for your custom characters (you can offer your character for the exchange, but no one has to write for your custom character).
Example of how to fill out the form for requests. You can choose to receive fanart, fanfiction, or both. But you must click at least one.
Offers
For your offers, this is where you will choose what YOU will be GIVING. This helps the mods and AO3 match you to someone that you will be happy creating for. You must list two different pairings to be matched well. Again, if you click "Any Relationship" in your offers, you are saying that you will make something for ANYTHING. Platonic, romantic or anything in between. Please be careful with using that option.
You have to make two offers but can list up to 5 pairings per offer, a max total of 50 pairing offers. You don't have to do this many, but the minimum is 2. Please be descriptive with your DNWs again, this is where I will determine if you are matched with someone that won't upset your triggers. The additional tags are the most important part of your offers because it will determine what YOU ARE MAKING. Please, if you are writer, only choose fanfic. If you are an artist, only click fanart. If you do both, you can choose to do one or both.
After you submit your signup, you can edit it up to closing day, June 16th. After the 16th, you will be unable to edit it as matching will begin.
Any questions regarding signups, please message a mod or the main exchange blog. Someone will get back as quickly as possible.
If you don’t want a pairing but instead, something about only Joker (handling the Collector attack, post-Alchera, portrait of him alone, etc), you don't have to put a pairing in the relationship section. But please note your preferences in your description box.

Battle Report + Status Update: Succession Wars junk vehicles are very fun
For a little context, I've been waiting impatiently for the BattleTech Mercenaries Kickstarter stuff to actually ship to general customers, as it's been taking Catalyst a while to actually get all of the stuff in order.
Unfortunately for me, I ordered some stuff through our local TTRPG supplier, and I hadn't actually supported the Mercenaries Kickstarter because I wasn't fully committed to actually buying BattleTech stuff until I had gotten a starter box as a birthday gift about a year ago.
Fast forward to now, and my friend had gotten his BattleTech Mercenaries Kickstarter stuff fulfilled recently. We discovered that there were campaign rules included in the small primer booklet, and I decided to fully hammer out the beginnings of a 3151+ campaign then and there. Notably, pilots can't be better than 3/5 (Gunnery/Piloting) to begin with, but we decided to force people to make 3/5 pilots to increase game speed.
We decided on 4000 BV per player to allow for more fun Dark Age mech and vehicle choices. My friend decided to kinda go crazy with his picks, and selected an Ontos Heavy Tank and a Dervish DV-11DK.
For those who are educated in the art of tank warfare in the age of the battlemech, you would know that the Ontos kinda sucks historically. It's a tank with eight medium lasers as a primary armanent, but no fusion engine. That means three heatsinks have to be mounted alongside every medium laser to sink the heat, making the Ontos horribly inefficient as a 95 ton tank. (A Demolisher can do similar close range damage, but can equip Gyrojet Ammo for a -2 to hit using the AC/20s)
HOWEVER, some madman decided to upgrade the thing in Dark Age by adding eight large chemical lasers as a replacement to the medium lasers & heatsinks. Chemical lasers do not generate heat on vehicles, because they use ammunition. You have EIGHT large lasers.
The following fight was very brief.
To set the stage, a pirate raiding party had struck the area my friend was defending, and had landed with:
Hunchback HBK-4N Wolverine WVR-6K Vedette Tank x2 Default Condor Hovercraft Default
With all of these units at 4/5 (Gunnery/Piloting), they roughly were equivalent to the Dervish & Ontos combo BV-wise.
This was not the case in combat, and it turns out defending with a tank that will likely hit more than half its shots against opponents that must close to close combat distances (>10 hexes) kinda just wins. That Ontos was killing a Vedette when it could see a Vedette, and when it ran out of Vedettes, the Ontos killed the Wolverine with little assistance.
The Wolverine barely lasted two turns of direct combat, and gracefully exploded after having every single pip of armor on nearly every armor section completely gone, before it was crit in the SRM-6 ammo bin located in the right torso. No CASE meant instant death.
The Hunchback actually did a minimum of damage before quickly retreating, while both Vedettes exploded instantly from merely attempting to scratch the paint of the Ontos.
The standout was the Condor, being lucky enough to avoid getting hit at all while successfully closing to optimum weapons range, but it was quickly squashed by the Dervish after a lucky boxcars roll on motive system damage after getting a little too close.
In summary, the pirates were reduced to burning slag in a matter of seconds, and playing as them was hilariously fun. Bad units are great as story enemies, because you can aggressively run them into danger without really caring. My friend got a hella large payout according to the campaign rules, so that was a pretty nice way to begin a tale of a new mercenary company.

Tickets
Pairing: Enid x Wednesday
Content Warning: Gay, Fluff, K-pop
Summary: Wednesday has given 4 tickets to Enid to go to a Blackpink show. She is surprised to be invited
Normally, Enid would wake up late. Today felt different however, so much so she was nervous. In fact she woke up early today for once. She knew something was going to happen eventually, and she didn’t know what. It wasn’t parents weekend so it couldn’t be her parents. She sighed, knowing that she wouldn’t fall asleep so she just got up.
Wednesday soon appeared out of the shower, putting on her school uniform as she was buttoning her shirt up, but the tanned girl jumped when she saw Enid up. “Sinclair, morning,” she spoke casually to her girlfriend.
“Morning Willa,” Enid responding, yawning as her shirt rode up, revealing scars from the Hyde. Wednesday blushed hard as she stared at them, remembering the fateful night. She still had chronic pain from it, but it wasn’t as bad as when it first happened.
Once Enid realised where Wednesday was staring, she blushed hard. She knew it was out of love that certain look. “Do you know what it is today? Something feels different,” Enid asked Wednesday, knowing she’d know if there was a certain event.
“It is your birthday mon cher,” Wednesday answered, walking over and holding her sides before kissing her gently. Enid smiled as she kissed back, not shocked she forgot her birthday. They had been bad for her after all. She was now 17 though. “Happy birthday mia lupa. Te amo,” Wednesday finally said. Enid, swooning, smiled and hugged the smaller girl, hiding her face.
“Thank you babycakes,” she responded, seeing if she could get away with that today. Wednesday rolled her eyes.
“You are lucky it’s your birthday today…” she mumbled out in Enid’s shoulder. Enid smirked.
“I won’t call you it in public, don’t worry babycakes,” she remarked. Wednesday smiled at that gently before she was nodding. She soon pulled away, going to her side of the room and pulled a few boxes out.
“I know you might’ve had bad experiences before so I didn’t dare get you anything big,” Wednesday explained and handed them over. “Mother, father and Pugsley gave you a gift as well as Thing,” Wednesday explained, noticing how Enid was surprised by the 6 boxes. There was also 2 envelopes.
Enid nodded, smiling gently as she looked at who’s was who’s. She was wanting to open her girlfriends first after all. She grinned, seeing it was one of the bigger boxes. Inside was a hoodie, but it wasn’t any ordinary hoodie. It was a hoodie all fhe Addam’s had that had their name on it as well as the family crest and their quote. There was also an interest on the back of each like on Wednesday’s there was an open book. Enid’s eyes welled up with tears as she saw ‘Enid Addams’ and then on the back there was a crocheting symbol. She was hugging Wednesday tight. “Thank you babycakes,” she hummed out and kissed her deeply. Wednesday kissed back before handing over an envelope.
“Also from me,” she spoke. Enid blinked before she was opening the envelope and saw what was inside. Blackpink tickets to the city that was 2 hours away from them. It was in a week so it gave her time to prepare at least. After a deeper kiss, she opened the rest. Morticia got her a manicure set, Gomez got her a custom fencing sword and Pugsley got her a raven plush. Thing also got her some skincare things. The birthday card was from the entire family, with 200 dollars in it. Enid widened her eyes, about to complain.
“This is the minimum I could get it too. They wanted to put 2000 in,” she explained. Enid couldn’t help but whine at that before sighing and agreed to take it.
“Why is there 4 tickets?” she then asked.
“Well, in case you want to bring your friends,” Wednesday informed.
“So you’ll go with me, Divina and Yoko then?” she asked excited. Wednesday was shocked but she nodded.
“It is your choice mon cheri,” she admitted. Enid grinned.
“Then I choose you, Yoko and Divina. I love you babe,” she spoke happily. Wednesday smiled at that and kissed her forehead.
-
It was the day of the concert and Enid was excited. Divina and Yoko were too. Wednesday was calm however, not really knowing much K-pop. Enid had been playing the songs to Wednesday though so she knew some at least. She was only going for her girlfriend, which Yoko had teased her about. If it wasn’t for Enid or Divina then the vampire would’ve had a stake in her heart.
They were currently in their respective bedrooms, Enid and Wednesday changing together. Enid kept waltzing about in her underwear, causing Wednesday to be a gay mess before she finally helped dress Enid. Enid was wearing her lesbian sweater with some blue jeans and had on some pink boots. That’s when Enid also chose Wednesday’s outfit. She got Wednesday a plain black shirt out with one of her crocheted sweaters (made by Enid) and a leather jacket. She also had on some ripped jeans that were black that Enid got her to see if Wednesday liked them. She did.
Soon, both girls were down in the lobby, waiting for the siren and the vampire, Enid chatting up a storm like usual. Wednesday was looking directly at her girlfriend as she spoke, showing she was listening intently. Soon, they both heard 2 footsteps and looked over. The siren was also wearing a pair of ripped jeans, albeit blue and also a black top with the bands name in pink on it. In fact, Yoko had the same shirt on but she was wearing black jeans and boots. Divina just wore trainers.
“Group photo!” Enid exclaimed out. Just as she said that, their house teacher entered the room and saw all 4 of them.
“Going somewhere fun?” she asked with a smile. Enid nodded.
“Going to a Blackpink concert! Wednesday’s butler is driving us there and back so don’t wait up!” Enid explained before she asked, “Can you take a photo of us?”. The teacher chuckled then nodded. Wednesday was next to Enid who was next to Yoko who was next to Divina. They all did different poses (minus Wednesday) before the phone was handed over.
“Have fun,” was the last thing they heard before they had left.
After an hours travel they were at the venue. Everyone except Wednesday was excited, Enid being the most excited as this was her favourite band of all time after all. Wednesday led the way to the front, showing a pass. The trio behind her were confused before they were let in. No one else was in… at least until they saw them in the corner. Wednesday had made a greet and meet happen. Enid kissed Wednesday as a thanks before she bounced over to them. “Went all out for your girl, hm?” was all Yoko said before she left. Divina just smiled at her before she joined the duo. Wednesday just sat down and relaxed, preparing for the hell of what a concert would be. As long as Enid was happy…

Hi, I’m Loki! a 22y/o disabled and neurodivergent trans s*x worker.
I have a condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which causes such things as fibromyalgia, frequent dislocations, chronic fatigue, treatment resistant depression and more.
For years I have struggled with my mental and physical health while I’ve made worlds of progress, they are (and may never be) in a place where I unfortunately cannot live completely on my own. There are days I cannot walk, times where I have sever meltdowns, and struggle with auditory hallucinations.
For all these reasons I’ve been working with my psychiatrist and have come to the agreement that a service dog would provide me an incredible amount of independence and stability. I have the required paperwork, but it’s not something that my insurance would cover and I am struggling to make ends meet as is and getting a service dog will cost $5,000 at the minimum which just isn’t possible for me to pay for a very long time.
I am working on getting a better paying job and doing what I can to be financially responsible but unfortunately there’s only so much I’m able to do on an already very low wage and inconsistent hours.
This dog would bring me so much freedom and also make it possible for me to attend trade school and consistently work a much better job.
All of this to say I am creating a gofundme and offering gifts in return for your kind donations!
Gifts -
$1 - 5: Personalized thank you video (30 seconds)
$10: Photo set (15 pics)
$15: Photo set + Thank you vid
$20 - Photo set + Video (5-9 minutes)
$30 - 3 Photo sets
$50 - 3 Photo sets + 3 videos, 3 Polaroid photos
$60 - Boyfriend Box 🎁 (Contains: 2-3 polaroid photos, handwritten letter sealed w/ kiss, sweet treats, panties, socks, stickers)
$80 - Boyfriend Box and 2 full photo sets
$100 - Custom video (3-5 minutes)

There’s something seriously wrong with customers who complain that retail employees who’ve already greeted them and said “let me know if you have questions” are sitting down, not walking around wasting time telling them about things that are clearly listed on signs, or begging for their business, especially in this day and age of minimum wage that is nowhere near enough to keep up with inflation.
Seriously wrong.
I work in a high end chocolate store and the owner/chocolatier is pretty famous in his field, so our customers are elderly, rich, grumpy people OR corporate yuppies who get mad that we’re sitting down on boxes behind the counter, since our boss doesn’t believe in a stool since it’s, in her words, “not a good look for the shop” and makes us look “lazy.” Every customer is greeted and told to let us know if they have questions (and believe me, people have no problem asking about a thousand questions about self-explanatory shit like truffles and pricing that’s clearly listed.
Anyway, our boss told us she’s been getting complaints, and she tells us this every few months. One customer said we dressed ugly and look disheveled once and claimed we all looked like we hate being at work. Today, she informed us that people have been complaining we’re all “huddled in back” and not talking to them about the product. Just to put into perspective—our store is tiny; like 300-400 sq ft. It’s literally just a counter, and shelves with chocolate boxes. There’s NO reason to be walking around unless someone needs help grabbing a box or if we need to stock the shelves. Standing behind the counter makes no difference. We also do not have a tipping feature on our iPad because our boss thinks it makes us seem lower end…we’re not allowed a tip box either. This is bullshit since we have people request gift wrap for up to twenty boxes, ribboning, tissue paper etc. plus putting up with their stupid questions. We give certain people service for up to half an hour with no tip.
For the most part you can tell that the people who put in these complaints are people who leave angry because we don’t sell truffles by the piece anymore. They’ll say shit like “that’s dumb. you USED to.” Or they’ll complain about the price of our shopping bags. And it’s like…what do you want me to say? Take that up with the owner. I’m not gonna apologize for policies I don’t make.
Also, if you’re one of those customers who doesn’t make eye contact, say thank you, or is just overall rancid with your behavior and you talk to me like I’m beneath you, I’m going to give you that same energy back. And I know these are the types that end up writing complaints. I had a woman recently shout “HELLOOOO. DO YOU WORK HERE????” to me a few weeks ago while I was on a break because she was too impatient to wait for my coworker to finish up with her customer. I ended up helping her but I told her I was on a break. That probably embarrassed her so she got an attitude. She also tried to game our points system by asking me to ring up her multiple items as separate transactions to get to her credit faster. I flat out told her we don’t do that, and she kept interrupting me mid-sentence and slammed her hand on the counter.
Like, if you’re a fucking boss and you get complaints from people, how can you be so fucking stupid to not take into consideration that they’re just unhappy, rancid ass people who want to feel superior to retail workers?
My point is…the narcissism and neediness and entitlement of customers in an era of dirt poor minimum wage is insane to me. Anyone who believes sitting down means a worker isn’t earning their pay has a mental problem. Like a serious ego issue that they should get therapy for.
#all you have to do is put your shit on the counter and I will ring it up#it’s not that hard to go shopping for chocolate

Is it safe to order plants online?
There is a risk in ordering plants online, especially since there are many websites that are not completely reliable and on many occasions, after making a purchase, we do not receive the plants in good condition or we are scammed. There are also other forums and Facebook groups where anyone can freely offer succulents for sale — on these websites, there are a large number of scammers.
Therefore it is vital to go for reputable sellers who have a good amount of positive reviews to be on the safe side.

Gifts! First is Mipha's to Sandy! It's just a few Zora-Made jewellery using coloured stones! They're rather beautiful! Mimi to Rammy? Well, the butterball blob is rather limited so she gives her some new jeans and a new guitar! Nazuna put herself in sexy attire under the tree for Carol and... the less said about THAT gift the better. It was pretty tiring for Christmas Morning no doubt...! Minerva got Ma-San a new set of drums and a signed photo album of the mink~ Kobayashi got Katy a HUGE rib roast! That's it. It's very tasty! Videl got Cofi some giftcards for some good fast food places and some bathing stuff to help her relax. Iori? Well, that lazy enby managed to get Fenneko a new set of VR stuff along with that VR game she had been going on about. How nice to know they were listening! Chalice is given set of diamond jewellery; necklace and earrings. She is also given a kiss on the cheek too from Blaze! Seiko got Lammy some supplement powders to help her weight gain efforts along with a collection of chocolates too. Poppy got Elora a new faun-style dress!
Sandy is gladly wearing the jewellery with pride, and hey, she was able to give Mipha a present before going into hibernation! It's nothing as extravagant as what she received, but she gave the zora princess a recipe book all the way from her home state in Texas! She figured Mipha could learn to cook how she does while the squirrel hibernates.
Rammy is rocking the new jeans (or at least until she outgrows them) and is loving the sound of her new guitar! Perfect for fatty fingers like hers! In return, she gives her bedbound blob beauty some large chocolate wedding cakes. No, they weren't getting married, not yet anyways, but she knows how much she loves chocolates, and she'd have something to munch on for awhile, while the ram works in the shop!
Carol was an absolute, flustered mess at the sight of Nazuna, and yeah, we'll just say the night onto Christmas morning was fun. Carol had just prepared a whole bunch of sweets for the idol, like pies and cakes.
Ma-San is loving the new drums, but is trying to keep the excitement to a minimum so she doesn't blow the roof off the place, and kept the photo album on her nightstand. She returned the gesture with a signed copy of MilkCan's first vinyl album, Make it Sweet.
That rib roast is devoured within minutes, and Katy swiftly returns the gesture by cuddling the mound of a human all night, purring strong enough to make their flab vibrate together.
Cofi has a big grin on her face at the gifts she had received, and in return, she gave Videl some boxing gear. She knew she was a fighter, so, why not?
Fenneko spent that entire morning playing that VR game, having the time of her nearly immobile life, though she struggled to get Iori anything for Christmas herself, so, she settled on a nice looking suit that were a little stretchy. The two weren't showing any signs of slowing their gains, so might as well be comfy.
Chalice is blushing hotly, wearing the jewelry and necklaces, feeling like a proper princess, especially when she was kissed on the cheek. The most she was able to get for Blaze, without using her charm this time, was a golden pocket watch with a custom logo that looked like Blaze's head.
Lammy smiled at the powders, she was definitely going to put these to good use, though she wasn't sure what to get for Saiko...maybe another date night would help? They only did one after all.
Elora is flaunting the new dress, loving it! In return, she gives Poppy Crush's old club, a weapon that was left behind after Ripto's defeat.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!

Sign Up Walkthrough (Hatboy Exchange)
Signups are coming up soon so here is a guide on how to sign up for the exchange. When it's time, a post will go out with the link to the signup form and from there (as long as you have an AO3 account), it's pretty simple to sign up!
To start your Signup, go to the Collection Page during the signup period and click on "Signup Form".
After you submit your signup, you can edit it up to closing day, June 18th. After the 18th, you will be unable to edit it as matching will begin.
Any questions regarding signups, please message a mod or the main exchange blog. Someone will get back as quickly as possible.
EDIT: if you don’t want a pairing but instead, something about only Joker (handling the Collector attack, post-Alchera, portrait of him alone, etc), you don't have to put a pairing in the relationship section. But please note your preferences in your description box.
