Republicans and Democrats sank ungodly amounts of money into creating content for TikTok this election year, but there’s a chance the app might not be around in the US come next cycle. Or even president-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.
Quickly, a refresher: President Joe Biden signed the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act in April, creating the state of affairs we find ourselves in today. The law put in place a system that would ban TikTok if the app’s parent company, Bytedance, didn’t sell to a US-based owner by January 19, 2025. Once that deadline rolls around, the president can decide to extend it an additional 90 days. We’re supposed to find out by tomorrow if a federal appeals court will uphold the law requiring Bytedance to sell off its stake.
Soon, we’ll know whether the court will strike down the ban bill or if TikTok’s fate is left in the Trump administration’s hands.
Right now, two things stand in the way of this ban going into effect. First, the deadline. And second, a lawsuit. Shortly after the bill became law, TikTok sued the US government for violating the free speech protections of the company and its users by, effectively, banning the app. That’s the decision we’re waiting on this week.
There are a few different outcomes that could play out. The court could agree with TikTok’s arguments and strike down the law on First Amendment grounds. If that were to happen, TikTok would be safe unless the Justice Department decides to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court or the full DC circuit. Even if the feds appealed, it could take months or years before the justices take up the case, leaving us in an even lengthier limbo.
The court could also uphold the law, setting TikTok up for an outright ban. But if the court sides with the Justice Department, the incoming Trump administration may still find a way to keep the app around.
In September, Trump posted to Truth Social, saying “FOR ALL OF THOSE THAT WANT TO SAVE TIK TOK IN AMERICA, VOTE TRUMP!” (caps his, not mine). “I’m a big star on TikTok,” he said in the attached video. It was an odd statement coming from the man who was the first president who tried to ban the app. But according to The Washington Post, the Trump administration now plans to find a way to halt any ban of TikTok once the president-elect takes office, though it hasn’t announced any official plans.
Trump warmed up to TikTok over the course of the election year, promising to protect the beloved app. One of the TikTok’s biggest investors, billionaire Jeff Yass, was also one of Trump’s biggest donors. He also used it to his advantage: Over the summer, Trump joined TikTok and racked up millions of followers and collabs with popular streamers that played a huge role in his campaign’s appeal to young voters. His many podcast appearances with people like Joe Rogan, the Nelk Boys, and Andrew Schultz were also clipped and shared in bite-size pieces throughout the app.
More than 170 million Americans use TikTok, according to the most recent numbers shared by the company. Only 32 percent of Americans support a TikTok ban, according to a recent Pew survey. When a similar study was conducted in May 2023, 50 percent of Americans supported it.
Trump’s inauguration is scheduled for January 20, the day after the deadline to give TikTok more time to find a buyer. I’d bet that Biden would decide to extend it, making TikTok’s future Trump’s problem, but the current president hasn’t given any signals on what he could do. The White House did not respond to a request for comment from WIRED.
While Trump may have won TikTok this cycle, Democrats don’t see the app as a lost cause. In fact, the Democratic strategists I’ve spoken to have argued that a presence on the app is more necessary than ever.
“I’m against the ban. Not only will it hurt us with younger voters, it will eliminate a channel where Democrats can compete to get their message out,” says Ryan Davis, cofounder and chief operating officer at People First, a political influencer and relational marketing firm that partnered with the Biden and Harris campaigns. “Trump may have won TikTok in 2024, but it’s a channel Democrats demographically should be highly competitive on.”
I genuinely have no idea whether TikTok will come out on top this week. When oral arguments were presented in September, the judges didn’t sound too sold on the idea that the law was, well, unlawful. More likely than not, we’ll still be stuck in this limbo of not knowing whether we’ll be able to scroll and watch important and groundbreaking content like this.

Everything changes in less than one month…..

INAUGURATION DAY 2025
A day that will live in infamy for the treasonous, seditious, and traitor-infested communist-run Democrat Party… but only if Team Trump truly drains the swamp.
SOTN Editor’s Note: It ought to be obvious that we are currently experiencing the CALM BEFORE THE STORM.
And, that because the Democrats have been so quiet since Election Day, you know they are busily preparing for their pre-Inauguration Day power grab. That prep began in earnest with this major move:
HUNTER’S PARDON: The Most Brazenly Unlawful POTUS Pardon In American History
However, HUNTERgate is the least of their problems since this nonstop Democrat crime wave actually began with the unconstitutional installation of Manchurian Candidate Barack Hussein Obama as a POTUS Pretender on January 20, 2009. See: Scientific Evidence: Obama Birth Certificate Copy Proven Fake And Forged
Incidentally, that little data point alone makes every presidential action throughout the entire illegitimate two terms of Obama completely NULL AND VOID. Especially in view of the absolute necessity for the Democrats to cover up the countless Obama-Biden crimes sprees does Inauguration Day 2025 then become the most consequential in U.S. history.
LAWLESSNESS ON SUPER STEROIDS! Obama-Biden Era Darkest Period In U.S. History
But not only that, the Democrat party also has to continuously cover up the most transparently stolen POTUS election—EVER! Because not only did POTUS Imposter Joe Biden not receive those 81 million plus votes, all of the high-integrity scientific and statistical ballot evidence points to the great likelihood that Trump won with that amount. Heck, JOE BIDEN WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM EVEN RUNNING FOR POTUS.
2024 WAS TOO BIG TOO FRIGGIN’ RIG: Which has now proven that Team Biden outright stole 2020 election from Trump.
Which brings US back to the exceedingly thorny and precarious state of affairs that the Democrat Party will be facing on Monday, Jan 20, 2025, from 12:00 PM onward. In point of fact, the very worst of those brazen and shameless traitors know that they are staring at a fate that is nothing less than a public hanging. See: These are the most dangerous and traitorous congressional enemies of the American Republic.
However, that just and fair outcome is wholly dependent on President Trump establishing the rule of law across the land. It’s not yet clear if Team Trump really understands the constitutional necessity and moral imperative to mete out the most severe justice in every single case of proven treason and/or sedition that warrants it. Because these Democrat cowards only understand one thing—brute force and raw power. See: They Know They Will All Be … HANGED LIVE ON THE INTERNET
What’s the crucial point here?
We’re talking about a complete and permanent dissolution of the Democrat Party in view of the multifarious criminal conspiracies of sedition and treason committed against the POTUS and the American Republic, respectively. For example: DEMOCRAT’S OPEN BORDER TREASON PLOT MUCH WORSE THAN ANYONE KNOWS.
So, the Democrat Party is toast. Their little communist party is history … as in forever terminated as a political party in these once United States of America. Those self-indicted flagrant traitors and nakedly subversive bolsheviks have screwed the pooch so many times they’re outta here. It just hasn’t happened yet. That’s Trump’s job. And he has no choice this time around but to follow through on draining the swamp inside the Beltway for good … … … because his own life and family’s future greatly depends on it.
Therefore, the NWO globalist-overseen Democrats know they will have only one more chance to strike, and strike so hard that their seemingly inevitable fate can be somehow averted. (By the way, those New World Order head honchos report to a much higher mundane power described here: THE SATANIC GLOBAL POWER STRUCTURE)

Guaranteeing the States Protection Against Invasion
Issued January 20, 2025.
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby proclaim:
An essential feature of any sovereign nation is the existence of territorial boundaries and the inherent authority to decide who and what may cross those boundaries. The Supreme Court of the United States has described this power as a "fundamental act of sovereignty," which "stems not alone from legislative power but is inherent in the executive power to control the foreign affairs of the nation." U.S. ex rel. Knauff v. Shaughnessy, 338 U.S. 537, 542 (1950). The Supreme Court has recognized the inherent right and duty of the Executive Branch to defend our national sovereignty, stating that "[w]hen Congress prescribes a procedure concerning the admissibility of aliens, it is not dealing alone with a legislative power. It is implementing an inherent executive power." Id.
The Congress has, in establishing "an uniform Rule of Naturalization," created a complex and comprehensive Federal scheme in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), 8 U.S.C. 1101 et seq., to control the entry and exit of people and goods across the borders of the United States. In routine circumstances, this complex and comprehensive scheme can protect the national sovereignty of the United States by facilitating the admission of individuals whose presence serves the national interest and preventing the admission of those who do not, such as those aliens who pose threats to public health, section 212(a)(1) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(1); safety, section 212(a)(2) (8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(2)); and national security, section 212(a)(3) (8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(3)). Prospective immigrants who use the visa system are screened for such health, safety, and security concerns while outside of the United States, and are not permitted to enter the United States until they establish that they are eligible to be admitted as a matter of law and should be admitted as a matter of discretion.
But screening under those provisions of the INA can be wholly ineffective in the border environment, where access to necessary information is limited for aliens who have traveled from countries around the world to enter the United States illegally, or when the system is overwhelmed, leading to the unauthorized entry of innumerable illegal aliens into the United States.
Due to significant information gaps -- particularly in the border environment -- and processing times, Federal officials do not have the ability to verify with certainty the criminal record or national-security risks associated with the illegal entry of every alien at the southern border, as required by section 212(a)(2)-(3) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(2)-(3). Nor do aliens who illegally cross the southern border readily provide comprehensive background information from their home countries to Federal law enforcement officials.
The public safety and national security risks in such an environment are heightened by the presence of, and control of territory by, international cartels and other transnational criminal organizations on the other side of the southern border, as well as terrorists and other malign actors who intend to harm the United States and the American people. And the risks associated with these issues are greatly exacerbated when the number of aliens illegally crossing the southern border increases to levels that prevent actual operational control of the border.
The same is true for public health, where the Federal Government currently lacks an effective operational capability to screen all illegal aliens crossing the southern border for communicable diseases of public-health concern, as required by section 212(a)(1) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(1). Effectively no aliens who illegally enter the United States provide Federal officials at the southern border with their comprehensive health information, as a lawful immigrant would. As a result, innumerable aliens potentially carrying communicable diseases of public health significance illegally cross the southern border and enter communities across the United States.
Over the last 4 years, at least 8 million illegal aliens were encountered along the southern border of the United States, and countless millions more evaded detection and illegally entered the United States. The sheer number of aliens entering the United States has overwhelmed the system and rendered many of the INA's provisions ineffective, including those previously described that are intended to prevent aliens posing threats to public health, safety, and national security from entering the United States. As a result, millions of aliens who potentially pose significant threats to health, safety, and national security have moved into communities nationwide.
The ongoing influx of illegal aliens across the southern border of the United States has placed significant costs and constraints upon the States, which have collectively spent billions of dollars in providing medical care and related human services, and have spent considerable amounts on increased law enforcement costs associated with the presence of these illegal aliens within their boundaries.
In joining the Union, the States agreed to surrender much of their sovereignty and join the Union in exchange for the Federal Government's promise in Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, to "protect each of [the States] against Invasion." I have determined that the current state of the southern border reveals that the Federal Government has failed in fulfilling this obligation to the States and hereby declare that an invasion is ongoing at the southern border, which requires the Federal Government to take measures to fulfill its obligation to the States.
The INA provides the President with certain emergency tools. For example, it states that "[w]henever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate." 8 U.S.C. 1182(f). This statute "exudes deference to the President in every clause." Trump v. Hawaii, 585 U.S. 667, 684 (2018). Further, the INA renders it unlawful for "any alien to depart from or enter or attempt to depart from or enter the United States except under such reasonable rules, regulations, and orders, and subject to such limitations and exceptions as the President may prescribe." 8 U.S.C. 1185(a)(1).
Historically, Presidents have used these statutory authorities to deny entry of designated classes and categories of aliens into the United States through ports of entry. But if the President has the power to deny entry of any alien into the United States, and to impose any restrictions as he may deem appropriate, this authority necessarily includes the right to deny the physical entry of aliens into the United States and impose restrictions on access to portions of the immigration system, particularly when the number of aliens illegally crossing the southern border prevents the Federal Government from obtaining operational control of the border.
The INA does not, however, occupy the Federal Government's field of authority to protect the sovereignty of the United States, particularly in times of emergency when entire provisions of the INA are rendered ineffective by operational constraints, such as when there is an ongoing invasion into the States. The President's inherent powers to control the borders of the United States, including those deriving from his authority to control the foreign affairs of the United States, necessarily include the ability to prevent the physical entry of aliens involved in an invasion into the United States, and to rapidly repatriate them to an alternative location. Only through such measures can the President guarantee the right of each State to be protected against invasion.
By the power vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, I have determined that the current situation at the southern border qualifies as an invasion under Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States. Accordingly, I am issuing this Proclamation based on my express and inherent powers in Article II of the Constitution of the United States, and in faithful execution of the immigration laws passed by the Congress, and suspending the physical entry of aliens involved in an invasion into the United States across the southern border until I determine that the invasion has concluded.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including sections 212(f) and 215(a) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) and 1885(a), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code, hereby direct as follows:
Section 1. Suspension of Entry. I hereby proclaim, pursuant to sections 212(f) and 215(a) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) and 1884(a), that the entry into the United States on or after the date of this order of aliens engaged in the invasion across the southern border is detrimental to the interests of the United States. I therefore direct that entry into the United States of such aliens be suspended until I issue a finding that the invasion at the southern border has ceased.
Sec. 2. Imposition of Restrictions on Entry for Aliens Invading the United States. I hereby proclaim, pursuant to sections 212(f) and 215(a) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) and 1885(a), that aliens engaged in the invasion across the southern border of the United States on or after the date of this proclamation are restricted from invoking provisions of the INA that would permit their continued presence in the United States, including, but not limited to, section 208 of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1158, until I issue a finding that the invasion at the southern border has ceased.
Sec. 3. Suspension of and Restriction on Entry for Aliens Posing Public Health, Safety, or National Security Risks. I hereby proclaim, pursuant to sections 212(f) and 215(a) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) and 1185(a), that the entry into the United States, on or after the date of this order, of any alien who fails, before entering the United States, to provide Federal officials with sufficient medical information and reliable criminal history and background information as to enable fulfillment of the requirements of sections 212(a)(1)-(3) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(1)-(3), is detrimental to the interests of the United States. I therefore direct that entry into the United States of such aliens be suspended and restrict their access to provisions of the INA that would permit their continued presence in the United States, including, but not limited to, section 208 of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1158.
Sec. 4. Constitutional Suspension of Physical Entry. Under the authorities provided to me under Article II of the Constitution of the United States, including my control over foreign affairs, and to effectuate the guarantee of protection against invasion required by Article IV, Section 4, I hereby suspend the physical entry of any alien engaged in the invasion across the southern border of the United States, and direct the Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Secretary of State and the Attorney General, to take appropriate actions as may be necessary to achieve the objectives of this proclamation, until I issue a finding that the invasion at the southern border has ceased.
Sec. 5. Operational Actions to Repel the Invasion. The Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Secretary of State and the Attorney General, shall take all appropriate action to repel, repatriate, or remove any alien engaged in the invasion across the southern border of the United States on or after the date of this order, whether as an exercise of the suspension power in section 212(f) and 215(a) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) and 1185(a), or as an exercise of my delegated authority under the Constitution of the United States, until I issue a finding that the invasion at the southern border has ceased.
Sec. 6. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:
(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or
(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.
(b) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.
(c) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.

Nature and Fate Are Sometimes Coincidentally Ironic, Even in the Affairs of Human Political History -- How this Pertains to 2025 = 45^2 and the Current Political History of the USA
"2025 = 45^2" -- This Is the Same as 2025 x 2025 = 45^2, A Cosmological Flight-of-the-Mind Surmise on It in Reference to the Current Political History of the USA Nature and fate are sometimes coincidentally ironic in the development and flow of the events of history, or human history. The irony applied to the number 45 here is that it was the presidential number, in the order of US presidents, of Donald Trump when he was first elected US president, and when (Quote: "2025 = 45^2" -- this is the same as 2025 x 2025 = 45^2 Physics In History u/PhysInHistory · Dec 31, 2024 Happy New Year 2025 ! ✍️) squared, it coincides and correlates with the year of his inauguration and taking office, a second time after a 4-year hiatus resulting from his 11-03-2020 defeat for reelection as US president by thereafter POTUS Joe Biden, as US president as of the year 2025, in the first month of 2025, on presidential inauguration day of 01-20-2025. The sad pun of irony in the coincidence of the concerned equation of 2025 = 45^2 as relates to Donald Trump and his reelection as US president, given his character, personality, lifestyle and modus operandi, is that in probable reality his second presidency will be a different version of the economic, social and political tumult and disaster of the first Trump presidency that is exponentially worse rather than double trouble to it in his second presidency (Let us hope that it is not such for the fate of the USA and our US Constitutional Bill of [Universal Citizen Democratic] Rights Republic form of government in spirit, deed and operation.), which, again, starts in January of 2025. Occasionally, there is spooky action in the space-time distance of cosmic history of every kind, including human history and human political history.
This smacks of being the coincidental harbinger equation of spooky action at a distance in the sometimes rhyme of time of events and developments in human political history. Nature puns, too, sometimes mischievously and wickedly in effect, by, as a matter of happenstance or chance, tossing out a monkey wrench into our midst in human affairs.

The aquarium dolphin riding experience disappears
Oh Ye-jin - January 21, 2021
Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries prepares a comprehensive aquarium management plan...Total ban on cetacean breeding.
From now on, the 'experience program' of riding dolphins or beluga in the aquarium is expected to disappear, and the act of bringing in new cetaceans from the aquarium to breeding or exhibiting is expected to be completely banned. On the 21st, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries unveiled the 'First Comprehensive Aquarium Management Plan' (2021-2025), which aims to prevent abuse of marine animals and create a safe aquarium environment.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries decided to amend the Zoo and Aquarium Act (Act on Management of Zoos and Aquariums) to change the existing aquarium registration system to a permit system. Currently, if you apply for registration with a tank capacity of 300㎥ or a floor area of 200㎡ or more, you can open an aquarium, but in the future, the aquarium is divided into large, small and medium-sized, and other large aquariums with a size of 10,000㎡ or more. It is planned to be able to rear 10,000 individuals. Small and medium-sized aquariums less than 10,000 square meters will be allowed to rear 200 species of marine organisms with fewer than 10,000.
New permit standards reflecting the suitable habitat environment for each species of marine animals are also created. For marine animal experience events run by some aquariums, such as Geoje Sea World, which caused the 'animal cruelty controversy' with the Beluga riding program last year, it has decided to prepare guidelines that stipulate possible and prohibited activities by the end of this year. Subsequently, the law will be amended to specifically list prohibited acts and also specify penalties for violating them.
Currently, only acts such as damaging or starving animals are defined and punished as 'abuse', but the government is considering a direction in which feeding, touching, and riding of visitors are also prohibited in the animal welfare level. The aquarium is not allowed to bring in new whales other than the existing ones, and it plans to completely ban the breeding and display of cetaceans in newly opened aquariums.
For dead cetaceans, we will also consider ways to make them available for educational and research purposes through taxidermy. In addition, when the government permits or inspects the aquarium business, an expert who can evaluate the appropriateness of the habitat environment will be designated as an inspector to receive advice.
In terms of biodiversity conservation, it was decided to establish a database (DB) by conducting an actual condition survey on the current status of species in domestic aquariums. In particular, for marine protected organisms in which individual management is urgent, a 'blood registration register' containing the pedigree and individual government is used for propagation or restoration projects.
The number of specialized institutions for the rescue and treatment of marine animals such as whales and sea turtles is planned to increase from 8 in 2018 to 15 in 2023 and 20 in 2028. In addition, it was decided to establish guidelines for preventing infectious diseases and to establish a response system for disasters and accidents for hygiene management and safety accident prevention for aquarium visitors and workers.
Prior to the establishment of this comprehensive plan, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries has formed the 'Aquarium Dolphin Welfare Improvement Council' in August last year with private aquarium companies and civic groups, and announced that it will continue discussions through the consultative body for the revision of the law.

US pet food suppliers poised for further expansion in China
New Post has been published on https://petnews2day.com/pet-industry-news/pet-travel-news/us-pet-food-suppliers-poised-for-further-expansion-in-china/
US pet food suppliers poised for further expansion in China
According to China Customs data, China imported 17,595 metric tons (MT) of US pet food – dog and cat food for retail sale – worth US$114m in 2021, roughly equal to 2020 imports.
Pet food exports from the US to China about doubled in volume from 2019 to 2020 for several reasons. In January 2020, China reduced the import tariff for pet food from 15 to 4%. After the COVID-19 pandemic began, pet owners sought out online sales platforms to purchase pet food; many imported products use this channel. Further, in February, China granted market access for US pet food containing ruminant ingredients, noted a USDA FAS overview.
“The landscape changed in 2021, leading to a slight drop in overall sales. Costs rose because of logistical challenges and a sharp increase in freight prices. Furthermore, avian influenza outbreaks in Europe, including Germany, Belgium, and the Czech Republic, led China to ban pet foods containing poultry ingredients reducing overall imports. Besides these import woes, competition from domestic producers grew; production in China rose 17.3% between 2020 and 2021 to 1.13 million metric tons.”
But market trends indicate that China’s demand for imported pet food will continue growing, reads the report.
In 2020, there were 704 SKUs of imported pet foods with an approved feed registration from China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), a historic record and more than double those in 2019, according to the publication.
The top six suppliers of pet food, by number of SKUs were Canada, New Zealand, Belgium, Italy, Germany, and the US.
“In 2021, MARA approved 635 SKUs of imported pet foods to receive new or renewed feed registration; 117 of these were for US pet foods, illustrating US industry’s strong interest in expanding product offerings to China,” said the USDA team.
Other registrants included: Spain (99), New Zealand (74), Canada (70), Germany (69), and Thailand (45). Among the newly registered imported pet food products, 290 were for cats and 271 for dogs, as per data in the report.
Facility registration
All imported pet food must have both the facility registered by China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC) and the feed product registration by MARA.
This is the same for products sold through cross-border e-Commerce (CBEC) and through normal trade, said the authors. “This requirement, effective starting September 2019, is now strictly enforced.”
The report outlines out China’s GACC has approved pet food and pet food ingredients imports from 21 countries and regions. “As of writing, there are 78 US facilities currently registered with GACC. By comparison, the US’ main pet food competitor, Canada, has only nine facilities approved on the GACC list. Each facility may produce a wide range of products.”
Implications of disease outbreaks
On March 2, 2022, GACC published a list of prohibited animals/animal products by country related to disease outbreaks, said the USDA team.
Some ports/GACCs are banning dry pet food with poultry as an ingredient from countries with active outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza. “However, canned pet compound food (wet food), pet snacks and other commercially sterilized canned pet food are not affected by avian related epidemics and allowed to be imported into China.”
China’s pet food market: the latest trends
According to Euromonitor, between 2010 and 2020, China’s pet food market grew from US$719m to US $6.72bn with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25%.
From 2021 to 2025, Euromonitor predicts the CAGR will reach 19.5%, supporting an expansion from US$8.23bn to US$16.77bn.
The main macroeconomic factors driving this optimism are China’s household pet penetration rate, which is at 20%, said the market research firm. By comparison, Japan is at 38%, and the US is at 70% in terms of companion animal ownership.
China’s per capita GDP exceeds $10,000 and is growing, giving customers the purchasing power for imported pet foods.
Urban areas and first and second tier cities have higher rates of pet ownership. China’s urbanization rate is 65% and growing. As young people are choosing to stay single longer, many choose to get a pet.
Moreover, said Euromonitor, the aging population grows steadily, and older people are also a key demographic of pet ownership. “Currently, over 18% of the population (260 million) are over 60 years old.”
Cat ownership is growing faster than dog ownership. Euromonitor forecasts China’s domestic cat population will grow from 95m to 101m with a CAGR of 6% between 2021 and 2025; the domestic dog population, by contrast is expected to grow from 98m to 100m with a CAGR of 2.5%.
Cat ownership is growing faster due to limited living space as a result of high property prices, especially in first and second tier cities, and cats cost, on average, less than dogs, noted Euromonitor.
“Total expenses for cats are estimated at US$750 per year, whereas dogs’ expenses are approximately US$953. About 40-45% of these expenses are for food. Higher work pressures, including longer working hours, lead to more inactive lifestyles where some become reluctant to walk a dog.”
While 75-80% of pet-related purchases are online, offline purchases by Chinese consumers are starting to grow, said the data provider.
In China, there is a preference for foreign pet food brands, particularly for cat foods.
Some “40% of cat owners reportedly only feed foreign brands to meet protein requirements and ensure quality ingredients and nutrition. For dog food, owners have a neutral attitude, using either foreign or domestic brands for staple/everyday foods. For natural foods, functional foods, and the foods containing dairy ingredients, foreign pet food brands dominate. For staple/daily foods, snacks, and nutrient supplements, Chinese domestic brands are growing fast.”

A recurring nightmare among millions of Americans is that come 2024, Donald Trump will forget the fact that he actually hated being president, decide to run again, and win. Seriously, can you think of a more horrifying scenario, except perhaps falling through a sidewalk into a rat-filled chasm,;which some people might still prefer? We maintain that you cannot. But an equally terrifying, skin-crawling situation would definitely be to turn on the TV on January 20, 2025, and see Donald Trump Jr. being sworn in as president of the United States, which a number of Republican voters apparently actually want to happen.
The poll, which was conducted between July 6 and 8, did not include Donald Trump Senior, who maintains an inexplicable grip on voters despite the mass-death stuff, an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election, and a mental state that suggests he should be in a home or studied by a team of Swiss doctors.
And the fact that Don Jr. came out on top is not where the scary news ends. Because apparently if Republicans cant have Sheep Killer over here, their second-favorite choice is Florida governor Ron DeSantis, the man currently responsible for this:

A Gallup poll last March found Romney, 74, has a higher approval rating among Democrats than Republicans, so you might figure he doesnt have a prayer in taking his partys nomination again. A February Morning Consult poll, though, had Romney polling ahead of Republicans like Pompeo, Cotton and Hawley. So, youre telling me theres a chance? Yes, a one-in-a-million chance.
The 2012 GOP presidential nominee and his wife, Ann, have five sons. He graduated from Brigham Young University and Harvard Law. Romney is a former Massachusetts governor, and the first person to be a governor and senator from two different states since Sam Houston, who was governor of Tennessee and a senator from Texas. Romney is this years JFK Profile in Courage Award recipient.
Georgia And Arizona Senators Show Progressive
Walker, the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner and a Wrightsville, Ga., native, has long lived in Texas after a professional football career that ended in Dallas, but he changed his voter registration last week to an Atlanta house owned by his wife, Julie Blanchard. Blanchard is under investigation by the Georgia secretary of state’s office over potential illegal voting after The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported she voted in Georgia despite living in Texas.
Walker has also repeated false claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election despite elections officials finding no evidence of widespread fraud that affected the outcome.
It’s unclear when Walker will make a formal Senate announcement. The campaign paperwork filed Tuesday ends months of speculation about his political plans, including a prediction in June from Trump that the former football star would soon suit up for the Republican primary.
“He told me he’s going to, and I think he will,” Trump said on the conservative talk radio Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show. “He’s a great guy. He’s a patriot. And he’s a very loyal person, he’s a very strong person. They love him in Georgia, I’ll tell you.”
Some national Republicans have been wary of Walker’s candidacy, though. The first-time candidate comes with potential baggage that could harm his chances in both the primary and general elections, including his Texas residency.

Then-President Donald Trump elbow bumps Herschel Walker during a 2020 campaign rally in Atlanta. Walker filed paperwork Tuesday to run for U.S. Senate in the key swing state of Georgia.
Herschel Walker, a former University of Georgia football standout and a friend and ally of former President Donald Trump’s, is running for U.S. Senate in Georgia, setting up a high-profile Republican primary next year in the crucial battleground state.
Walker enters a growing field seeking to unseat Democrat Raphael Warnock, Georgia’s first Black senator, with strong encouragement from Trump, who has been fixated on Georgia politics since narrowly losing the state’s 16 electoral votes in the 2020 presidential election.

Sen Josh Hawley Of Missouri
Though controversial, Hawley, 41, is a fundraising machine and hes quickly made a name for himself. The blowback Hawley faced for objecting to Bidens Electoral College win included a lost book deal and calls for him to resign from students at the law school where he previously taught. His mentor, former Sen. John Danforth of Missouri, said that supporting Hawley was the biggest mistake Ive ever made in my life.
Still, he brought in more than $1.5 million between Jan. 1 and March 5, according to Axios, and fundraising appeals in his name from the National Republican Senatorial Committee brought in more cash than any other Republican except NRSC Chair Sen. Rick Scott of Florida. Just because youre toxic in Washington doesnt mean you cant build a meaningful base of support nationally.
One Republican strategist compared the possibility of Hawley 2024 to Cruz in 2016. Hes not especially well-liked by his colleagues , but hes built a national profile for himself and become a leading Republican voice opposed to big technology companies.
Hawley and his wife, Erin, have three children. He got his start in politics as Missouri attorney general before being elected to the Senate in 2018. Hawley graduated from Stanford and Yale Law.

Former Trump Aide To Run Primary Challenge Against Kinzinger
Representative Adam Kinzinger will face a primary challenge from a former Trump administration aide as the pro-Trump faction of the GOP looks to oust Republicans, such as Kinzinger, who voted in support of the former presidents second impeachment.
Catalina Lauf, who served in the Department of Commerce under the Trump administration, launched a bid Thursday to oust Kinzinger from his seat in the 16th congressional district of Illinois.
I never thought Id primary a fellow Republican, but is Congressman Kinzinger really a Republican anymore? He isnt and we have the proof, the 27-year-old challenger said in a campaign announcement video.
Lauf said her 42-year-old opponent is a weak-kneed, establishment Republican who cares more about his next MSNBC appearance than the voters who elected him.
She claimed Kinzinger does not support the America First movement, noting his one in three votes in Congress that have sided with House speaker Nancy Pelosi
Instead of being in our fight, Adam betrayed his constituents for a life in the D.C. swamp, said Lauf, who branded herself the anti-AOC.
She blasts her Fake Republican opponent for backing the phony impeachment hoax for a president who has already left office.
He said impeachment was necessary to save America. What? Lauf said. You know what I think is necessary to save America, Adam? Setting term limits for people like you and the rest of your friends out. Six terms in Congress is enough.
This Republican Is Running Against Donald Trump Is Anybody Listening
Bill Weld thinks GOP voters should bail on the president. So why is he making his case to independents?
Erick Trickey is a writer in Boston.
MANCHESTER, N.H. â Bill Weld leans back in a chair, hand on his hip, and talks about the Republican Party like someone whoâs been away for a while and is trying to get used to all the new developments. âI know a lot of the Republicans in Washington, and theyâre good people,â says the sandy-haired, ruddy-faced primary challenger to Donald Trump. âTheyâre just cowed by this president somehow.â
This was three days into his long-shot bid for president, and the former Massachusetts governor is talking in a Hilton Garden Inn lounge that looks out on the New Hampshire Fisher Catsâ minor league baseball field. On his campaignâs opening day, Weld declared heâd chase Trump as ferociously as a fisher cat, the weasel-like native of New Hampshire known for eating porcupines. But the president seems not to have noticed he has an angry 73-year-old on his tail, at least not one from his own party; Trump hasnât aimed so much as a tweet at his erstwhile opponent or bothered to taunt him with a nickname. Weld, however, is basically screaming at the TV. Heâs worked up over a news report that Trump aides fear the presidentâs âwrathâ because they talked to special counsel Robert Mueller.
The question is: Are they listening?

The delegates to the national convention voted on the first ballot to select Donald Trump as the Republican Party’s presidential nominee for president of the United States in the 2020 election, and selected Mike Pence as the vice-presidential nominee.
President Donald Trump informally launched his bid for reelection on February 18, 2017. He launched his reelection campaign earlier in his presidency than any of his predecessors did. He was followed by former governor of MassachusettsBill Weld, who announced his campaign on April 15, 2019, and former Illinois congressmanJoe Walsh, who declared his candidacy on August 25, 2019. Former governor of South Carolina and U.S. representative launched a primary challenge on September 8, 2019. In addition, businessman Rocky De La Fuente entered the race on May 16, 2019, but was not widely recognized as a major candidate.
Who Is Trump Reaching
If the former president proves to be a kingmaker in the 2022 midterms, his allies say he may seek reelection in 2024.
The Republican Party is just a name, Steve Bannon told me last week. I had called him to ask about the influence he believes his old boss still carries inside the GOP. The bulk of it is a populist, nationalist party led by Donald Trump. As for the rest of it? The Republican Party, pre-2016, are the modern Whigs, he added, referring to the national party that collapsed in the mid-19th century over divided views on slavery.
Bannon might not be the most reliable barometer of the political moment, but some of Trumps fiercest Republican critics share his belief that the former president maintains a strong grip on his party. He sparked this , and now others are going ahead and taking the baton of batshittery, Representative Adam Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois and a staunch Trump critic, told me last week.
After losing badly in 2020, the GOP wants candidates who can win in 2022. But the partys biggest star seems less concerned with fellow Republicans electability than with their fealty. Trump aims to punish incumbents who voted for his impeachment and reward those who support the culture war hes stoked. Republicans want to talk about Joe Bidens liberal leanings and how inflation is making life more expensive for most Americans. Trump wants to talk about himself and his personal woes.
What will voters want to hear?

‘the Stars Have Aligned For Both Parties’ Interests
Trump employed a scorched-earth brand of politics throughout his presidency, and often undercut his own efforts. In 2019, he abruptly pulled out of infrastructure talks with Democrats as they started investigating his administration. “Infrastructure week” soon became a running gag referring to his repeated failures at passing a new bill.
Biden, on the other hand, is applying the opposite approach. He’s had an unyielding faith in bipartisanship and repeatedly sought compromise with Republicans. That hasn’t always panned out Biden muscled through a $1.9 trillion stimulus law earlier this year without any GOP support once negotiations collapsed.
Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, the second-ranked Senate Republican, serves as a barometer of where many rank-and-file Republicans stand. Thune pushed back against Trump’s recent criticisms, saying he believed each side’s political interests have aligned recently. Infrastructure has long been something popular with voters.
“I disagree with former President Trump on that,” he told Insider. “You want to celebrate successes no matter when they happen. It just so happened the stars aligned right now for both sides to come together on this.”
“As is always the case up here, timing is everything,” he said.
“I’m not sure the nature of his objections,” Cassidy said in an interview with Insider, referring to Trump. “Somehow, he says it’s a win for I view it as a win for the American people.”

Joe Biden assumed office as President of the United States on January 20, 2021, and among the first orders he signed was one to restore America’s participation in the United Nations Paris Agreement on climate change His decision on America’s return will take effect on February 19, which would be 107 days after its withdrawal under the Donald Trump administration became formal on November 4, 2020.In the past, the U.S., under George W. Bush, had pulled out of the previous pact, the Kyoto Protocol, in 2001. What changes did the Trump administration make? The withdrawal from the Paris Agreement meant that the U.S. was no longer bound by its national pledge made under the pact: to achieve an economy-wide reduction of its GHG emissions by 26%-28% below the 2005 level in 2025.America also stopped its contribution to the UN’s Green Climate Fund, to which it had pledged $3 billion, after transferring an estimated $1 billion. Important Info : What areas will Mr. Biden focus on to cut emissions? He has promised an “enforcement mechanism to achieve net-zero emissions no later than 2050”, including a target no later than the end of his term in 2025, aided by a planned federal investment that will total $1.7 trillion over ten years, besides private investments. The plan revolves around 10 million well-paying clean energy jobs with a focus on solar and wind power. This year’s UN climate conference in Glasgow will see the new administration engaging UNFCCC member-nations to raise global Read the full article

Faisalabad
Faisalabad (Urdu: فیصل آباد; English: /fɑːɪsɑːlˌbɑːd/), formerly known as Lyallpur, is the third-most-populous city in Pakistan, and the second-largest in the eastern province of Punjab. Historically one of the first planned cities within British India, it has long since developed into a cosmopolitan metropolis. Faisalabad was restructured into city district status; a devolution promulgated by the 2001 local government ordinance (LGO). The total area of Faisalabad District is 5,856 km2 (2,261 sq mi) while the area controlled by the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) is 1,280 km2 (490 sq mi). Faisalabad has grown to become a major industrial and distribution center because of its central location in the region and connecting roads, rails, and air transportation. It has been referred to as the “Manchester of Pakistan”. As of 2013, GDP (PPP) of Faisalabad was estimated as $43 billion and projected to rise to $87 billion in 2025 at a growth rate of 5.7%. Faisalabad contributes over 20 percent to Punjab’s GDP and has an average annual GDP (nominal) of $20.5 billion. Agriculture and industry remain its hallmark.
Toponymy
Faisalabad district actually began as Lyallpur district in 1904 and prior to that, it was a tehsil of Jhang district. During the British Raj in colonial India, the city of Lyallpur was named in honor of the then Lieutenant-Governor of Punjab, Sir James Broadwood Lyall, for his services in the colonization of the lower Chenab Valley. The surname Lyall was joined with the noun ‘pur, meaning ‘city’ in Sanskrit. In 1979, the Government of Pakistan changed the name of the city from Lyallpur to Faisalabad (‘City of Faisal’) in honor of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, who made several financial contributions to Pakistan.
Location
Faisalabad lies in the rolling flat plains of northeast Punjab, at 186 meters (610 ft) above sea level. The city proper comprises approximately 1,230 square kilometers (470 sq mi) while the district encompasses more than 16,000 square kilometers (6,200 sq mi). The Chenab River flows about 30 kilometers (19 mi), and the Ravi River meanders 40 kilometers (25 mi) to the southeast. The lower Chenab canal provides water to 80% of cultivated lands making it the main source of irrigation. Faisalabad is bound on the north by Chiniot and Sheikhupura, on the east by Sheikhupura and Sahiwal, on the south by Sahiwal and Toba Tek Singh and on the west by Jhang.
Geology
The district of Faisalabad is part of the alluvial plains between the Himalayan foothills and the central core of the Indian subcontinent. The alluvial deposits are typically over a thousand feet thick. The interfluves are believed to have been formed during the Late Pleistocene and feature river terraces. These were later identified as old and young floodplains of the Ravi River on the Kamalia and Chenab Plains. The old floodplains consist of Holocene deposits from the Ravi and Chenab rivers.
Climate
The average annual rainfall is approximately 615 millimeters (24.2 in). It is at its peak in July and August during monsoon season though western disturbances during winter months also bring considerable rainfall associated with hail. Monsoon season which starts in July and ends in September brings heavy rain to the city causing flash flooding. If the monsoon currents interact with the western disturbance, then cloudbursts can also occur. July is the wettest month of the year during which flooding is reported a number of times. Monsoon ends in September and then the dry period begins. October and November are the driest months with very little rainfall. During winter the weather usually remains cloudy associated with frequent fog. Record-breaking rainfall of 264.2 millimeters (10.40 in) was recorded on 5 September 1961 by the Pakistan Meteorological Department. The temperature of the city has reached a summer maximum record temperature of 48.0 °C (118.4 °F), which was observed on 9 June 1947 and again on 26 May 2010. Extreme minimum temperature of −4.0 °C (24.8 °F) was recorded on 15 January 1978. The highest wind gust ever recorded in Faisalabad occurred during a severe dust-thunderstorm on 2 June 2000, when the maximum wind speed reached 151 kilometers per hour (94 mph).
Transportation
Faisalabad is well-connected by rail, road and air. Public transportation in Faisalabad includes auto-rickshaws, buses and railways. Faisalabad International Airport is located on the outskirts of the city, and operates flights to the Middle East.
Culture
Faisalabad, the third most populated metropolis in Pakistan after Karachi and Lahore is an epicenter for trade that has gained popularity for its colonial heritage sites. In 1982, the Government of Punjab established the Faisalabad Arts Council, a division of the Punjab Arts Council which is overseen administratively by the Information, Culture and Youth Affairs Department. The Faisalabad Arts Council building, designed by architect Nayyer Ali Dada, was completed in 2006. The auditorium was named after the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, a Pakistani musician, and singer.
