You: "So, what did you learn in your acupuncture class today, Ayla?"
Me: "... I burnt popcorn 😃"
Tumblr media
In all seriousness, this is called moxa. It's dried mugwort we use near acupuncture points to warm and stimulate the body's energy flow - also called Qi. It nurtures your body in so many ways that it's almost a little overwhelming learning and practicing it.
The picture here is a small ball of very fine moxa put on an acupuncture needle located in ST41 (middle front of your ankle) It's a good point for ankle pain, cleanse excessive heat from the stomach meridian and to calm your mind.
As you can see on the needle, the heat is transferring from the moxa down to the needle inside the patient's foot. Once the ball has finished burning, it becomes cool enough to touch, and you simply take it off and put another ball on the needle. Typically, you use at the very least three moxa balls, but you often use more.
My teacher told us a success story from his own teacher who had a patient who was told he had blood in his intestine and was given 3 months to live. My teacher's teacher then gave him moxa treatment multiple times and... that was 10 years ago.
He's still alive.
And, the sad and insane thing is far too few acupuncturists in the Western side of the world practice moxa. At all. Most don't even know what it is.
With every bit of new information I learn at this education, the more I'm blown away by what it can do. How many people you can help and heal. I'm excited to keep learning, and even more so to use this knowledge and skill to help others.
I've already had a few success stories myself even though I've only been learning and practicing this since October 2024. Healed my dad's stagnation in his right hand with acupuncture, loosened a friend's lumbar pain with cupping and, hopefully soon, nurture and heal my mother's hip with moxa.
I am beyond humbled and thankful to my teacher and this education he has established in my country. I can't wait to learn even more.

How Much Does Cupping Treatment Cost? A Complete Breakdown
Cupping therapy has become a go-to for people seeking relief from muscle pain, stress, and even chronic conditions. But one question comes up often — how much does cupping treatment cost? Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, knowing what to expect can help you make an informed decision.
If you're exploring alternative therapies, you might also be interested in acupuncture Bangalore - Ayushyaa Clinic, which combines both treatments for enhanced healing and relaxation.
Let’s break down the costs:
 1. Types of Cupping Therapy and Their Costs
The type of cupping you choose affects the price:
Dry Cupping: Uses suction to stimulate blood flow — typically costs ₹500 to ₹1,500 per session.
Wet Cupping (Hijama): Includes small incisions to draw out toxins — ₹1,500 to ₹3,000 per session.
Fire Cupping: Involves heated cups for deeper muscle relaxation — ₹800 to ₹2,000 per session.
Massage Cupping: Combines suction with massage movements — ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 per session.
 2. Factors That Influence Cupping Treatment Costs
Several factors can change the price:
Location: Major cities like Bangalore may have higher prices due to demand.
Clinic Reputation: Well-known clinics with experienced therapists may charge more.
Session Duration: A standard session lasts 20-30 minutes, but longer sessions or combination treatments may cost more.
Number of Cups Used: More cups = more effort, which may increase the price.
 3. Is Cupping Therapy a One-Time Cost?
Most people need multiple sessions for long-lasting benefits. A package of 3 to 5 sessions often offers a discounted rate — around ₹4,000 to ₹8,000.
 4. Is It Worth the Price?
Absolutely — especially if you’re dealing with muscle tension, poor circulation, or stress. Cupping is a natural, drug-free approach that supports overall wellness, making it a valuable investment in your health.
For those in Bangalore looking for an effective, affordable treatment, cupping Bangalore services are widely available. To combine the benefits of cupping with acupuncture, Ayushyaa Clinic offers trusted, professional care for a holistic healing experience.

How Acupuncture Can Help Manage IBS Symptoms?
IBS irritable bowel syndrome is a common digestive disorder that causes symptoms like diarrhea, acidity, gas, bloating, stomach pain, and constipation. It is a chronic condition but its severity varies from person to person. It’s thought to result from problems with how the intestines and the brain work together. Acupuncture for IBS is considered to be one of the most effective solutions to treat this chronic illness.
Tumblr media
Let’s discuss about IBS more;
SYMPTOMS OF IBS
IBS-C (IBS with constipation): This type includes infrequent bowel movements. Abdominal pain or discomfort, bloating or gas, Constipation, defined as fewer than three bowel movements per week.
IBS-D (IBS with diarrhea): This type includes diarrhea, and may cause abdominal discomfort with frequent, watery, and loose stools.
IBS-M (IBS with mixed symptoms): This type includes alternating between Type-C and Type-D.
CAUSES OF IBS
However, there is no exact cause of IBS but there are several factors that lead to Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Many people with IBS also have non-gastrointestinal symptoms. These include fatigue, muscle pain, sexual dysfunctions, and sleep disturbances. They may also overlap with other conditions.
Does acupuncture work on IBS?
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicinal practice that is considered to balance your body’s energy.
IBS is considered as a disorder of the gut-brain interaction. It’s thought to be due to issues with how the brain and the intestines work together.
Acupuncture for IBS procedure
There is no special preparation needed. You have to wear loose-fitting clothing that you can easily roll up to your elbows and knees. The performer will tell you if you need to remove any clothing.
Here are the steps for acupuncture:
You’ll lie down on a padded table.
The acupuncturist will insert sterilized needle one by one in specific points just under the skin or deeper into the muscles.
The needles are left in place for 10 or more minutes while you lie down. The performer may gently twist or move the needles after placement.
The needles are removed one by one and disposed of in a container. They can never re-used.
HOW ACUPUNCTURE CAN HELP IBS?
Balancing Nervous System: Many IBS symptoms lead to an imbalance in the autonomic nervous system. Acupuncture may help calm the nervous system, regulate the gut-brain connection, and reduce stress.
Improving Circulation: By stimulating some specific acupuncture points, it helps generate good blood flow that leads to improved digestive organs.
Pain Relief: Acupuncture is well known for stimulating the release of body’s natural painkiller which is also called endorphins and also helps to manage bloating and abdominal cramps.
Regulating Gut Motility: Acupuncture leads to help restore normal bowel function by regulating intestines movement. It also treats muscle contraction pain during constipation and diarrhea.
CONCLUSION
As we discussed and described all points about the benefits of acupuncture for IBS is considered to be one of the best natural therapies in the market. Whether you are looking to go for a weekend retreat or a therapy to heal from chronic IBS, considering San Francisco Acupuncture will be the most effective solution for you.

Reasons to Try Acupuncture and Cupping Therapy Near Me for Better Sleep
Tumblr media
Over 70 million Americans experience sleep disorders each year. From restless nights to difficulty staying asleep, the quality of sleep impacts both mental and physical health. While medications can sometimes provide temporary relief, they rarely address the underlying causes of sleep issues.
Acupuncture and cupping therapy are two natural, holistic methods that target common sleep disruptors, such as stress, pain, poor circulation, and imbalanced energy. If you’re looking for sustainable ways to sleep better, discovering the power of acupuncture and cupping therapy in Bradenton, FL might be the answer.
Reduces Stress for Better Sleep
Stress and anxiety are the top reasons for sleep troubles. High levels of stress raise cortisol levels, which interfere with the body’s natural sleep-wake cycle, making it challenging to fall or stay asleep. Many people search for stress-relief methods to help improve sleep, and acupuncture is often an effective solution.
How acupuncture and cupping therapy help reduce stress:
Calms the nervous system – Acupuncture targets points that relax the body and help lower stress hormones.
Promotes relaxation – Cupping and acupuncture encourage endorphin release, creating a deep state of relaxation.
Releases physical tension – Cupping helps relieve built-up tension in muscles, easing physical stress symptoms.
Reason 2: Alleviates Pain for Restful Sleep
Chronic pain is another major sleep disruptor, with conditions like back pain, neck pain, and joint pain leading to restless nights. Pain-related sleep issues often become cyclical—poor sleep decreases pain tolerance, while pain makes quality sleep harder to achieve.
Benefits of acupuncture and cupping for pain relief:
Increases blood flow – Acupuncture enhances blood flow to painful areas, speeding up healing and easing discomfort.
Reduces inflammation – Both therapies effectively reduce inflammation, a key factor in chronic pain.
Relieves muscle tension – Cupping therapy relaxes tight muscles, relieving tension and stiffness.
Searching “acupuncture and cupping therapy near me” can lead to clinics specializing in these natural pain relief methods, making it easier to enjoy comfortable, pain-free sleep.
Reason 3: Enhances Blood Circulation
Good blood circulation is essential for sleep as it supplies the body with the oxygen and nutrients needed for nightly repair. Poor circulation can cause discomfort, muscle cramps, and even numbness, which can make falling or staying asleep difficult. Both acupuncture and cupping therapy promote better blood flow, which benefits sleep quality and overall health.
Benefits of acupuncture and cupping for blood circulation:
Stimulates blood flow – Acupuncture targets energy pathways that improve circulation in the body.
Removes toxins – Cupping draws out toxins and promotes lymphatic drainage, reducing body strain.
Promotes oxygenation – With improved circulation, oxygen-rich blood can reach every cell, supporting the body’s repair processes.
If you’re looking for ways to support healthy circulation naturally, searching “acupuncture and cupping therapy near me” can connect you with local experts who provide these beneficial treatments.
Reason 4: Balances Hormones
Hormonal imbalances can make restful sleep difficult. For example, melatonin, the hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle, is essential for sleep yet is easily disrupted by stress or lifestyle factors. Other hormones, like estrogen, progesterone, and cortisol, can also impact sleep quality, especially during life stages like menopause.
Acupuncture and cupping therapy help the body maintain balanced hormone levels:
Regulates the endocrine system – Acupuncture stimulates the areas related to hormone production, enhancing balance.
Supports natural hormone production – By targeting imbalances, these therapies help the body produce hormones essential for sleep.
Reason 5: Balances Energy Flow for Peaceful Sleep
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) describes Qi (pronounced “chee”) as the life energy that flows through the body. According to TCM, sleep disturbances often result from an imbalance or blockage in Qi flow. Acupuncture and cupping therapy are known to enhance the body’s energy flow, bringing the body and mind into balance for better sleep.
How acupuncture and cupping help balance Qi:
Unblocks energy pathways – Acupuncture clears pathways, allowing Qi to flow freely and evenly.
Balances Qi – When Qi flows naturally, the body maintains a state of harmony conducive to restful sleep.
Improves overall health – Balanced energy has ripple effects throughout the body, regulating multiple systems and supporting deep sleep.
Reason 6: Boosts Overall Well-being
Beyond sleep, acupuncture and cupping therapy offer overall wellness benefits. By focusing on the root causes of sleep issues, these therapies help to support mental, immune, and digestive health, creating the ideal foundation for better rest. People who regularly include these therapies in their wellness routine report improvements in areas beyond sleep alone, enhancing their quality of life.
Key health benefits of acupuncture and cupping:
Supports mental health – Reduced stress and anxiety create emotional balance and a calmer mind.
Strengthens the immune system – Improved sleep and reduced stress are known to support immune resilience.
Improves digestion – A balanced body and energy flow ease digestive concerns that can indirectly impact sleep.
Conclusion
Searching for “acupuncture and cupping therapy near me” has never been easy with today’s technology. Using your smartphone or computer, you can easily find an experienced practitioner online who offers acupuncture and cupping therapy. For those seeking a holistic approach to better sleep, reaching out to a local clinic like Bradenton Acupuncture and Wellness can make a real difference.

What Is Cupping Treatment for the Face and How Does It Work?
Cupping treatment for the face has been gaining attention for its potential benefits in promoting healthier, glowing skin. This ancient therapy, often associated with traditional Chinese medicine, has found its way into modern skincare routines due to its effectiveness in improving circulation, reducing wrinkles, and even helping with skin conditions like acne. But how exactly does cupping treatment for the face work, and what can you expect from the process? Let’s explore this unique therapy and its benefits, particularly if you’re seeking cupping treatment in Bangalore - Ayushyaa Clinic.
What Is Cupping Treatment for the Face?
Cupping treatment for face is a non-invasive therapy that involves placing small cups on the skin, creating a vacuum effect. The suction created by these cups helps improve blood circulation, relax muscles, and promote lymphatic drainage. While cupping is commonly known for its use on the body, facial cupping is a specialized technique designed to target the delicate skin and muscles of the face.
During a facial cupping session, small, soft silicone or glass cups are gently moved over the face, particularly focusing on areas like the forehead, cheeks, and under the eyes. The suction encourages increased blood flow, which helps nourish the skin and improve its elasticity.
How Does Cupping Treatment for the Face Work?
Facial cupping works by gently lifting the skin using suction, which helps stimulate blood flow and oxygen to the treated areas. Here’s a breakdown of how it benefits your face:
Boosts Blood Circulation: The suction created during cupping therapy helps increase blood flow to the skin, bringing vital nutrients and oxygen. This promotes a radiant, healthy complexion.
Reduces Puffiness and Tension: Cupping therapy helps with lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness, especially around the eyes, and relieving tension in the facial muscles.
Improves Skin Tone and Texture: By increasing circulation, facial cupping helps enhance skin tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and improve skin texture.
Detoxifies the Skin: The therapy aids in the removal of toxins, leaving your skin looking fresh and rejuvenated.
Reduces Wrinkles and Fine Lines: Regular cupping can stimulate collagen production, which helps tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
What to Expect During a Cupping Treatment for the Face?
A typical facial cupping session lasts around 20 to 30 minutes. The procedure begins with a gentle cleansing of your face, followed by the application of oils to facilitate smooth movement of the cups. Then, small cups are applied to targeted areas, and gentle suction is created.
You may feel a mild pulling sensation during the treatment, but it’s not painful. After the session, you might notice slight redness in the treated areas, but this typically fades within a few hours.
Who Can Benefit from Cupping Treatment for the Face?
Facial cupping is suitable for most people who want to improve their skin health and appearance. It can be particularly helpful for those with:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Puffy skin and dark circles
Acne and skin inflammation
Dull skin tone and poor circulation
Tension in facial muscles
However, it’s always best to consult a professional before trying any new skincare treatment, especially if you have sensitive skin or underlying skin conditions.
Conclusion
Cupping treatment for the face is an excellent way to rejuvenate your skin, reduce signs of aging, and improve overall skin health. Whether you’re looking for a natural way to boost your complexion or seeking relief from skin concerns like acne or puffiness, cupping therapy could be a great option. If you’re interested in experiencing cupping treatment in Bangalore, Ayushyaa Clinic offers expert cupping and acupuncture services tailored to your needs.
For those looking to complement their skincare routine with other holistic treatments, acupuncture Bangalore- Ayushyaa clinic is another option that can support your overall well-being. Explore the benefits of these traditional therapies for healthier, glowing skin today!
