Unresolved Light
summary: Reader needs to vent.
pairing: Wilhemina Venable x Cordelia Goode x Billie Dean Howard x Reader
warning(s): mentions religion, blood, self harm
a/n: I’m beginning to think there’s no cure for the agony of living & there’s no love for those who need it most.
“Sometimes, I believe the purpose of life is to realize it is a form of hell in itself…” your fists unclenched, wiping away sweaty palms against the ragged denim beneath them, “And everyone shoves the idea of a greater, gentler being in your mind. They tell you He’s love and He’s what the world is not,” your eyebrows furrowed—voice breaking, “but what kind of merciful God would hurl His creations into a dying world and expect them to be the light when all influence leads to darkness?” The silver cross embedded with cubic zirconia sparkled against your neck; dangling daintily as you hunched over in despair. “How sadistic of Him to push me into nothingness, hoping I’d grasp at His glory just to catch a breath while drowning.” A scoff pushed past trembling lips. Pulsating veins spread through your forehead, making their presence noticeable. Your fists clenched once more, pounding at the ground. Tears fell and bodies moved closer to you.
They were not fond of fragile things shattering. They preferred to think of you as strong. And how could you blame them? It would be more convenient for them to believe that, than to witness your world fall apart, and your mind follow suit.
No one wants to pick up your pieces.
Yet, your fists kept slamming, and slamming, and slamming, and slamming—Oh, and now she was crying for you to stop… but how could you when this blood on the floor was the most color you’d seen lately?
Cordelia pulled you into her chest—where your fists continued to beat. Her heart would not suffice when you craved a rhythm of your own. Her eyes fell shut; chin laying atop your frazzled mind.
And your fists kept slamming.
Her white blouse was now painted red. Your weary heart shadowing Franko in Mendieta form. This was a cleanse.
And now your forehead found a home against her collarbones. Billie’s delicate fingertips traced at your spine; grounding you. Forcing you to accept anything but brutality. There was nothing worse than losing all faith in faith itself.
No matter their beliefs, this was yours. And upon an unforgiving life, it was now lost to you—the hope for something greater was foolish. As your fists settled—now aching—your gaze readjusted. From the left of her dirty blouse, you could make out Mina.
Eyes dark and heavy against the many flames. You were sure her tears could extinguish them.
“Come, little one.”
You listened, pushing away from the witch and medium. Crawling across the floor and past surrounding candles, you lay on her lap—staring at the red handprints smeared and left behind.
Her fingers moved down to play with the necklace; twirling the cross gently.
“No sense in running towards destruction when we can take our time.”

Have another jewelry psa for you that's kind of an all encompassing, here's everything post from someone that works in coding at a repair depot.
Please don't wear your jewelry into pools, hot tubs, the ocean, etc. The chemicals are bad for your jewelry and can really tarnish silver! If it's a base metal (not gold or silver or brass or even tungsten or stainless steel; i.e., copper), it can not be cleaned and polished or even repaired, so please be careful with it! Oh and especially jewelry with opals in it please be careful getting those wet!
Don't shop at JCPenney.
Stainless Steel is something that's harder to work on and only some jewelry repair depots can do anything with it. This is because of the high melting point and also trying to match the finish on it.
For the love of God don't get tungsten. You cannot size tungsten or repair tungsten at all and it can be very brittle. I had one come in completely shattered and the ticket said it was hit by a basketball.
Don't shop at JCPenney.
I personally don't think hollow jewelry is worth it at all. Specifically earrings. You cannot undent those or do much repairs with them cause yeah they'll just break they're an automatic buyout for us.
For my depot, repairs can take upwards of five weeks, depending on the type of repair. Sizing? Little easier, takes a couple weeks, depending on how much we're Sizing it up or down (if we're taking it from a 7 to 13, it'll take just a little longer to make sure everything's secure). If we have to reshank (this happens when the band of the ring is too thin, meaning it's measuring under .70mm or it's yknow missing the entire bottom half), or replace missing stones (and match it by the color, clarity and size), or anything that's a true repair, it does take a little bit longer and typically is within those 5 weeks unless it's something super heavy and crazy. Custom pieces, where you ask the jewelry to make you a completely new piece, can take at least a month!
Don't shop at JCPenney
Cubic zirconia rings are cheaper than diamonds and I guarantee you they're much prettier go for those.
If your piece of jewelry is causing itchy and red skin, namely if it's white gold or silver, there's a solid chance you have a nickel allergy. Let that be known when you go to send it off and they can plate it differently. It'll still keep that same color but that way it won't cause an allergic reaction.
You can tell what your jewelrys metal type is by looking at the stamp on it! Some examples;
925 - Silver. However, 925 + 1/20 is platinaire and yes it'd confusing because I swear to God, when the stamp starts to wear off, it only ever wears off the + 1/20 and not the 925.
Typically, when it comes to gold, it'll say 10k or 14k (those are the most common I've seen in the U.S., though once in a while I'll see 18k, and I've had one 20k and one 9k). However, and especially on chains, I'll see the 585 for 14k, for example.
SR BR means silver over brass, and just BR is brass. Though sometimes it'll be silver over brass and it'll just say BR.
Don't shop at JCPenney.
You can tell if pearls are real by rubbing them on your teeth. I found this out after I saw our stores owner doing that. Yes it's weird. Real pearls feel rough and gritty, fake ones feel smooth.
Pearls are also a bitch bc if the clasp breaks or anything you have to resting them. Or if they're on a ring or earring and come off, you have to reglue them onto the little spike rather than resetting them and tipping the prongs around them. It's weird as hell to me.
I recommend being careful if you see earrings that have a snap setting. On the sides, they remind me of like tulip seems for some reason and the prongs they have set very flimsily over the earrings and curl over them versus your standard prong that rests against the sides of the stone. They are super fucking frail and will break if you do anything to them repair wise and don't offer really any security for your stones. Below is an example picture but I hope my descriptions pretty apt
DON'T SHOP AT JCPENNEY!!!!!
I have found you can find better sales in department stores than you can on their online site. My ring was marked at 200 but my man's got it for 87 bucks and I've never been more proud.
JCPENNEY JEWELRY IS CHEAP AND IT SUCKS AND THE PROTECTION PLANS ARENT WORTH IT IF YOU'RE NOT SPENDING HUNDREDS OR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON SOMETHING JUST DON'T BOTHER THEY ARE THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE.
If anyone wants to know more jewelry tips please feel free to ask! Or if you have some, add onto this.

PHOTOSHOOT: MARINA FOR REFINERY29
Marina dropped off the face of the earth but this won’t stop me from serving you fashion! Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit one of her most amazing editorial shoots. In February of 2019, Marina was photographed by Leeor Wild for Refinery29.
Styling by Haley Loewenthal, makeup by Alana Wright, and hair by Jenni Iva Wimmersted, respectively.
For the first look, our girl sported a full Sies Marjan Spring/Summer 2019 look which includes the Tommie lilac wool blazer with peak lapels and apron detail which fully wraps around the waist, and the Sula croc-embossed dusty magenta plastic layered skirt.
She layered it with one of the Acne Studios Spring/Summer 2019 Kana ribbed cotton mock neck tops in white.
You’ll find a lot of sculpturesque jewelry spread throughough this editorial. Mounser is a brand that definitely fits the bill with their Spring/Summer 2019 orbit-inspired earring and Corkscrew earring featuring cubic zirconia crystals.
For the second look, Marina poses in a coral-colored plissé bat sleeve top from the Spring/Summer 2019 presentation of Zero + Maria Cornejo.
She paired it with an off-white apron-style skirt featuring a panel full of iridescent paillettes from Italian emerging designer label DROMe’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
These interesting silver drop earrings with molten effect hail from the aforementioned Mounser jewelry collection.
Lots of low heels for this shoot! These Naima colorblocked PVC pumps in "Sun Fluorescent" are signed by Maryam Nassir Zadeh.
Iconic designer Marc Jacobs proposed polka dots, ruffles and other epic silhouettes for his Spring/Summer 2019 collection. Here, M wore the flocked-dot dimensional off-the-shoulder blouse in apple-green & white with a pair of high-waisted ivory wool pants featuring contrast black stripes along the sides.
The Welsh beauty completed her look with a pair of Annie Costello Brown's Circle Scroll gold statement hoop earrings. She also wears a pair of Manolo Blahnik heels that we cannot see.
For the penultimate look, Marina wore a full look from DROMe’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection which included a fuchsia patent leather belted jacket and matching shorts.
Another pair of Annie Costello Brown earrings and these GRAY MATTERS leather mules in white with an egg-shaped lucite heel pulled the look together. How fun!
For her last look, Marina sported a full ensemble from the Camilla and Marc Spring/Summer 2019 lookbook. It comprised the Juliana blue pleated midi dress and a mustard-colored version of one of the ribbed turtenecks.
Layered underneath her dress is Rejina Pyo's Spring/Summer 2019 Sophie cyan organza blazer with notched lapel and large golden buttons.
Sculpturesque silhouettes return with these Monica Sordo x Nausheen Shah white acrylic-coated shoulder duster earrings with gold-plated brass elements. Beyoncé is a fan of these as well!
Last but definitely not least, M finished her ensemble with a pair of Tibi's "Marcus" perforated leather tie ankle mules.

Among the many metals available, sterling silver bridal jewelry stands out as a classic yet contemporary choice. Whether you’re a bride looking for a timeless style or a modern twist, sterling silver offers a unique blend of durability, affordability, and beauty.
Understanding the Allure of Sterling Silver for Bridal Jewelry
Sterling silver has been cherished for centuries, offering brides a metal that is both stunning and adaptable. Known for its sleek, white gleam, sterling silver bridal jewelry holds a historic association with weddings, symbolizing purity and timeless beauty. Its cool-toned, reflective quality effortlessly enhances a bride’s attire, adding the perfect touch of sophistication that every bride seeks on her special day.
Advantages of Choosing Sterling Silver for Bridal Jewelry
Durability and Longevity
Sterling silver is strong and durable, making it suitable for lifelong wear. With proper care, silver jewelry can last for generations, symbolizing not only love but resilience.
Affordability Compared to Other Metals
Unlike platinum or gold, sterling silver offers luxury without a hefty price tag. Brides can achieve a high-end look within budget, allowing for splurges on intricate designs or additional pieces.
Hypoallergenic Properties
For brides with sensitive skin, sterling silver is a fantastic option. Pure sterling silver is hypoallergenic, reducing the risk of skin irritation, so you can enjoy your special day worry-free.
Types of Sterling Silver Bridal Jewelry
Rings and Bands
Silver wedding bands are classic and can be customized with engravings or stones. For brides looking to stand out, silver engagement rings with unique gemstone settings are increasingly popular.
Necklaces and Pendants
Whether you prefer a simple silver pendant or a dramatic choker, sterling silver necklaces are versatile enough to suit any bridal style.
Earrings
From elegant silver studs to statement drop earrings, there’s a sterling silver earring style to complement any bridal look.
Bracelets and Bangles
Silver bracelets can be minimalist or intricate, ranging from classic chains to meaningful charm bracelets, making them a thoughtful addition to any bridal ensemble.
Why Sterling Silver Complements Various Bridal Styles
Sterling silver’s versatility is unmatched. It pairs effortlessly with traditional wedding gowns, adding a timeless charm. For modern or minimalist bridal looks, silver jewelry complements sleek dresses with understated elegance.
Sterling Silver vs. Other Bridal Jewelry Metals
Compared to gold, which offers a warm hue, and platinum, which is notably more expensive, sterling silver strikes a perfect balance between elegance and cost-effectiveness. Its adaptable aesthetic makes it suitable for any bride’s personal style.
Popular Sterling Silver Bridal Jewelry Styles in 2024
From delicate filigree designs to sleek, modern pieces, today’s brides have a variety of trending styles to choose from. Sterling silver is especially popular for its classic appearance and ability to work well with any bridal theme.
Incorporating Gemstones in Sterling Silver Bridal Jewelry
Gemstones such as pearls, sapphires, and cubic zirconia add color and character to silver pieces, enhancing their allure. Each gemstone carries unique symbolism, like sapphires for fidelity, making them meaningful additions to bridal jewelry.
Where to Find Quality Sterling Silver Bridal Jewelry
High-quality sterling silver bridal jewelry can be found at reputable online jewelers and local stores. Be sure to check for authenticity marks, such as "925," indicating genuine sterling silver.
Conclusion
Sterling silver bridal jewelry is a timeless choice that combines elegance, affordability, and durability. Its versatility complements any bridal style, making it an ideal metal for the modern bride looking to make a lasting impression.

Budgeting for Diamond Stud Earrings: Tips for Affordable Options
Diamond stud earrings are a timeless accessory that can elevate any outfit, making them a staple in many jewelry collections. However, the allure of diamonds often comes with a hefty price tag. Fortunately, with careful budgeting and smart shopping strategies, it's possible to find beautiful diamond studs that fit within your financial means. Here are some tips for budgeting effectively and exploring affordable options when shopping for diamond stud earrings.
Set a Realistic Budget
Before diving into the world of diamond shopping, it's essential to establish a realistic budget. Consider how much you're willing to spend without compromising your financial stability. A good rule of thumb is to allocate a certain percentage of your monthly budget toward jewelry purchases. By setting a clear budget, you can avoid overspending and focus on options that align with your financial situation.
Understand the Four Cs
When shopping for diamonds, familiarize yourself with the Four Cs: cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. These factors significantly influence a diamond's price. Understanding the Four Cs allows you to make informed decisions about which qualities matter most to you. For instance, you may prioritize cut and clarity while being flexible on carat weight or color, allowing you to find a stunning pair of studs that fit your budget.
Consider Lab-Grown Diamonds
Lab-grown diamonds have gained popularity as a more affordable alternative to natural diamonds. Created using advanced technology, these diamonds possess the same physical and chemical properties as their mined counterparts but are often available at a lower price point. Choosing lab-grown diamonds allows you to purchase larger or higher-quality stones without exceeding your budget, making them an excellent option for budget-conscious shoppers.
Explore Alternative Gemstones
While diamonds are a classic choice, many stunning alternative gemstones can serve as an affordable substitute. Gemstones like white sapphires, moissanite, or cubic zirconia offer a similar appearance to diamonds without a high price tag. These alternatives can create beautiful stud earrings that sparkle and shine, allowing you to achieve the look of diamonds without breaking the bank.
Shop Sales and Promotions
Keep an eye out for sales, promotions, and special events when shopping for diamond stud earrings. Many jewelers offer seasonal discounts, holiday sales, or clearance events, providing opportunities to snag high-quality pieces at reduced prices. Signing up for newsletters or following jewelers on social media can help you stay informed about upcoming sales and exclusive offers.
Consider Smaller Carat Sizes
While larger diamonds may be the traditional choice, opting for smaller-carat sizes can significantly reduce the overall cost of diamond stud earrings. Smaller stones can still be incredibly beautiful and sparkly, allowing you to enjoy the elegance of diamond studs without the premium price tag. Additionally, selecting a pair with a total carat weight that fits your budget can yield stunning results.
Conclusion
Budgeting for diamond stud earrings doesn’t have to be daunting. By setting a realistic budget, understanding the Four Cs, and exploring alternative options, you can find beautiful pieces that fit your financial situation. Consider lab-grown diamonds, smaller carat sizes, and reputable jewelers to make informed choices. With patience and a strategic approach, you can enjoy the timeless beauty of diamond stud earrings without overspending. Remember, it's possible to find quality pieces that reflect your style and values, making them a cherished addition to your jewelry collection.
