Tell us about your witchy characters?

Got a lot of OCs that might be called witches or practice "witchcraft", but the one that comes to mine is the goddess of the Cu'Somadi people from my original worldsetting, Hine-Monani. Hine-Moani has many nicknames. To her people, she is The Mystic Sage, the teacher of the True Path. The Holder of a Thousand Lives.

To others she is known as the Witch of the Twilight, The Puppetmaster of Souls, and Murderess of the Ancestors, depending on who you ask! Although a minor goddess of the greater Celestial Pantheon, very few come close to her knowledge of the mystic arts making her a patron of spellcasters and puppet makers, both of which are held in highest regard in Cu'Somadi society. She is not one to cross... she is very quick to remove those that are a nuisance to her research...

Haven't finalized her design, but this is what I have in mind so far c: the minor deities of the Celestial Pantheon are meant to look very much like the people that worship them and not truly otherworldly!

Have so many OCs to pick from...but going to have to go with Aramet! Real name Heng Jia although that is only known to his immediate family as per the cultural norm of his people, the Cu'Somadi.

He's a confident mastermind of the Clan of the Scorpion, although to most he just seems like a well educated typical Cu'Somadi merchant cutting deals. He rules the family from behind the scenes, having his eldest sister act as the figurehead to take the heat. He cares for his family and treats all in his employment well, earning loyalty in the ranks....however cross him and his more sadistic side can come out quickly and he is not above being cruel when it comes to giving punishment. Always polite and well spoken. Always a delight to talk with. To most, he is the ideal Cu'Somadi that many strive to copy.

However...some would fault him for being a bit emotional with his reactions, especially if someone he keeps close to him is hurt. Especially touching his younger siblings. He will not hesitate to murder.

He's gone through a lot of reworks, but happy with where he's landed!

Concept art for the second short story of the triad c: I want to do a webcomic, but figure I should cut my teeth on short one or two page ones focusing on a small cast c:  Bastards of Brenwitch is about an overqualified detective agency dealing with the most incompetent criminals. sort of a comedy more than a mystery. Had a lot of fun designing this motley crew! Been poking at it the last few days for stress relief <3  Very much more in the vein of fantasy Scooby Doo and already got so many silly ideas. Can’t wait to sit down and work to get the stories out! Have to concept out the characters of the last story of the triad and figure out the order/covers!

OC QUESTION: Which one of your OCs would go on a huge shopping spree and buy lots of fashionable clothes and accessories?

Would def be Leurisa c: A combination of both her being young in the family with a very large disposable allowance and just the culture of her people! Cu'Somadis LOVE to shop and buy lots of fashion items...especially expensive things to show off their wealth and to accessorize. Leurisa always buying more scorpion themed custom made things!

Which of your ocs would survive a horror movie plot?

Honestly? Hard to call...like...most of them WOULD survive and the other half is probably the monster of the horror movie XD

It was easier to think of a character that would probably NOT survive the horror movie plot :b

Poor Leurisa would probably not survive a horror movie...she wears ridiculous high heels she can't run in, has no physical endurance, and doesn't have the powerful magic most of her people rely on...so she is easy pickings. Also she is a spaz and would probably trip over nothing like all horror movie tropes....and also is a curious little bean and would def go into the obviously danger haunted house! Luckily she has her fish prince boyfu who would carry her out under one arm. But on her own, she would be a gonner in a horror movie XD

Forbidden Love in the Rain.... Two lovers separated by the animosity of their people, but find in each other, kindred spirits.  A piece of my OCs “Leurisa” LIurou Xue and Siv-Agari and main characters of the romance story written for them. They’ve come a long way...and finally feel like the story is coming together. This piece is one of my sitting around WIPs I’ve been working to finish c:

Been worldbuilding my own stuff lately and honestly...it has been doing 100% more for my mood and creative energy. I actually WANT to share this art XD;;

One of the people of my setting, the Cu’Somadi, practice a questionable art of turning things (and people) into servant puppets. I had long ago written it down and broke it down into categories, but decided to do a visual guide for it c: 

As you read from left to right, top to bottom, it gets more advanced with Sentinels being the most advanced type. Anyways I hope you enjoy my mad ramblings and peek into my personal worldsetting as I get back to well...making stuff for it 83

 Some quick paints I did yesterday and today as wanted to work on designing and finalizing OC designs and species designs c:  Also it is a practice in not blending with blender tools, instead using brushes alone to create the shadows and highlights and bleed messy brush style into colors!  Very happy with results!   More about characters shown in read more! 

The top character is “Leurisa” as her code name, but real name Liurou Xue as given name.  Her brother is “Aramet” as code name and rela name Heng Jia. Cu’Somadi guard their real name and use a fake name or code name in daily life, sharing the real name only among family and close associates and friends.

The last character, Leng Kaliyanei, is a Dylon, a species that is part of the same “tree” as Cu’Somadi, but have a different culture and look. Dylons got horns and metallic skin that sparkles.  Kali had a hard life, but she was saved by Aramet from a bad situation and the two have since married happily c:

Your ocs each get 3 wishes genie-style; what do they wish for?

Went with Leurisa of the Scorpio Clan (real name Liurou Xue) for this ask as she had simple easy wishes. Her brothers and sisters took all the height and magic talent, she swears! Also...she liked that fish prince...he was cute. Also picked her because I still adore drawing my homebrew fantasy species, the Cu'Somadi <3 Love the masks and the extravagant designs each one can get c:

Anyone/anyspecies in obscuraverse celebrate any kind of 'It's Cold Season So Let's Party' holidays?

*Soft gasp* A question? About my original stuff? ; w ; *Slams down the book of lore* Well get ready then! Got a few holidays that a few different species celebrate!

Winter holidays are found across a wide variety of species, at least those that have a proper "cold season" to celebrate in c:

The most well-known and longest winter holiday is the one celebrated by the Natsook called the "Feast of the Sleeping Sun" that lasts for two weeks. In the Natsook homeland, the sun will set and not rise for months, dropping the once sweltering hot lands into a bitter, sudden, and deadly cold. During this time, the Natsook return to their subterranean cities and celebrate with a two week feast where they eat and gain weight....then sleep through the rest of the cold season in a food hibernation. Huge party and leads to long sleepy time just to best hibernate through the deadly cold.

Another winter holiday is Little Snow Folk Day that is celebrated by the Cu'Somadi. They have a cold season, but it usually is just cold rain and foggy weather. However, when they do get snow, a rare thing in the land, they celebrate the occasion. The Festival of the Little Snow Folk is celebrated with street stall food and walking about the city to look at all the snowmen that have been made and brought to life. The Cu'Somadi will compete to build and bring to life the most impressive snow creations. Children will create small snowmen called "Snow babies" and bring them to life where they will run about until they melt away when the cold rains return. It is a festive celebration that happens every time the rare snow day comes.

The last holiday is a rather strange one that is practiced by the Crystalian people. For them, cold weather is all year round with just various degrees of cold but they thrive and adore the cold. However, in the "winter" the blizzards and snowstorms happen way more often leading to huge piles of snow drifts....and thus begins the Snowball season. During this season, various individuals will try to nail the high priest of Azorath in a given city with a snowball. If they succeed, it is a day off work as the entire city most then declare a massive snowball fight to last the whole day. Stalls of food are put out, huge stockpile of snowballs are made, all because someone hit the high priest. However hitting the high priest is not an easy feat as many of them are super paranoid around this season and are good at dodging snowballs and keeping the city from having anarchy everyday.

Art for weekly challenge.....listen to a song and draw what it inspires! Of course my hellbrain wanted a cityscape despite me being AWFUL at drawing those.....especially with only two days to do the render for it AND a character!  Character belongs to a player in my DnD game and background is of her hometown c:

For this campaign, the top row are Cu’Somadi who are there on research. The Seelie and Bird-person, a sluagh, are faefolk that are causing trouble. The Sluagh there robbed the party and stole the NPC last game XD;

which of your ocs will go stabbystabstab?

There are a few that will be stabby....but Fuxi is the most stabby! Fuxi works as an assassin for a Cu'Somadi family in my original worldsetting c: Their species is called a Grim, in particular the pyrgom Grim as Fuxi is of the small three foot five variety of stabby TERROR!
