Maned wolves from my sketchbook.

The maned wolf isn’t actually a true wolf at all, but a completely unique and unusual member of the canine family altogether; they are solitary hunters and do not form packs, the majority of their diet is fruit and vegetable matter and their urine is said to smell like cannabis! Their long, slender legs enable them to peer over the grasses in their South American savannah habitat.

Honestly? My main piece of advice for writing well-rounded characters is to make them a little bit lame. No real living person is 100% cool and suave 100% of the time. Everyone's a little awkward sometimes, or gets too excited about something goofy, or has a silly fear, or laughs about stupid things. Being a bit of a loser is an incurable part of the human condition. Utilize that in your writing.

I hate that my news feed is filled with US election contents. I hate that as a non-American I have to be anxious about it because of how the outcome might impact my life on the other side of this giant ass planet. I hate that one country and its people who grew up in and respond to issues in that one country get to make a decision that is consequential for the rest of humanity.
