Following community backlash, Clip Studio Paint posted updates to its website. The company left the original messages posted intact and added amendments clarifying its plans moving forward.

Payment Plans

In the case of its planned changes to the one-time purchase options, it listed various intended steps to compromise with existing users. These compromises include:

A free automatic upgrade to Version 2.0 for one-time purchases made since January 1, 2022.

Continued support of Version 1 through stability updates without additional charges, where, previously, CSP had stated that "stability updates will only be provided until the release of Ver. 3.0." It is worth noting the website's clarification that Clip Studio plans to support Version 1 beyond the release of Version 3.0 "for the time being," meaning that this, at least, is subject to change.

A discounted upgrade to Version 2.0 for current owners of the one-time purchase or perpetual license who made the purchase prior to January 1, 2022.

A Version 2.0 testing program for students (and other applicants who might not be able to afford the updated pricing).

Alongside these updates, Clip Studio Paint posted guides to how to access Version 2.0, released on March 14, 2023.

Artificial Intelligence

Clip Studio Paint then listed and addressed concerns raised by consumers regarding the use of AI to generate background images and references for artists. Many of these concerns surrounded the theft and exploitation of intellectual property, the potential infringement upon moral or legal rights caused by the use of AI generated images, and the ethical question of whether it was acceptable to use artist's work in a data set without explicit consent.

The company stated its intent to "create a safe, creative environment" and clarified that CELSYS, its parent company, would not implement a generative AI feature that "[presents] this kind of concern," and stated that the service would be "discontinued in 1.0 after the release of Clip Studio Paint Ver.2."

Here, again, the language used is worth noting. Clip Studio Paint released an update claiming not that plans to use generative AI would be halted, but instead that it would be "discontinued in 1.0" and that the company would avoid AI that raised legal concerns. This leaves the possibility for future AI use open.

Clip Studio Paint posted corresponding apologies for the AI update and the pricing changes on the company Twitter.

Response Breakdown & Interpretation

Clip Studio Paint did include an apology in its update to the AI announcement, stating, "We apologize for the anxiety and concern we have caused regarding the announcement of the Image Generator Palette on November 29." The company justified the previous decision as a choice made while "preoccupied with how generative AI technology could be used creatively" and admitted that "[it] had neglected to take the necessary considerations." CSP's new resolution, moving forward, is "to provide features that can be used with peace of mind by all artists."

In the case of the pricing changes for Version 2.0, Clip Studio Paint did not apologize, instead framing the updates issued to its previous statement as a clarification: "We are happy to give you more details on what Ver. 2.0 will offer, the options for users in every situation with price points, and what has changed since the first announcement." They did state that some revisions were made based on consumer feedback, but, for the most part, the incident was portrayed as a misunderstanding and nothing more.

These responses, taken together, paint an interesting picture. Clip Studio Paint's (and, by extension, CELSYS's) continuous use of first person plural pronouns in reference to itself as a parent corporation to a family of design and illustration software applications appears to be in an effort to appear more personable. The corporate history page on Clip Studio Paint's website corroborates this, including personal interviews with key developers and largely addressing the company as a grassroots organization comprised of a few dedicated, passionate individuals that grew naturally over time.

I believe this establishes a pattern for Clip Studio and CELSYS of very careful word choice, and using first person pronouns to appear more personable is one clear example. Another would be how both statements Clip Studio Paint used language that, to casual readers, likely read as a full retraction of and apology for previous claims. In reality, both statements use nonspecific language that leaves open the possibility for the reintroduction of both features at a future date.

My personal opinion on this matter is that while Clip Studio Paint was doubtlessly concerned at least in part with potential legal matters caused by its intended updates, the clarifications released for both features were largely motivated by profit. The public backlash was widespread enough that the software risked losing a substantial portion of its userbase, as well as what could have been hundreds of thousands of future customers. The safest move for the company at the time was to pull back on the updates, at least for the time being, but I fully believe that if there comes a time when CSP determines that the cost of losing some of its consumer base is outweighed by projected increases in profit, it will reinstate these features.

Ultimately, CELSYS is a corporation, and its goal is to turn a profit. Positive public perception and a loyal userbase are key factors in this, yes, but if the company can find a way to quietly carry out its original plans at a later date in order to maximize profit without causing too much backlash, it will likely do so.

I do think that, for the time being, this was the right move on the company's part. They could have just as easily waited out the cycle of backlash or doubled down, but this decision worked to preserve an otherwise untainted reputation as a reliable, user-centric platform for digital artists all over the world.

When entering into other fandoms tags to recommend Anne With An E make sure you are always being RESPECTFUL and don’t just spam the tags with Anne promotion. You could always create side by side edits of the two programs to demonstrate how similar they are. Basically, make sure your posts in their tag don’t seem like a blatant promotion for AWAE.

6) Rate Anne with an E on IMDb. (Note: It is listed as Anne(2017) on IMDb). Right now Anne is listed in Top 250 TV Shows, but it is toward the bottom of the list at #248, with an average show rating of 8.4 stars. If enough fans rate it, the show could move up on the list, which may attract new people to watch the show. You can rate the show overall, and rate each episode individually. Do YOU Have a Buyer?

Of course you have a buyer! It seems about everyone has a buyer these days who is searching diligently for a property. Often these buyers have missed out at least a couple of times in a multiple offer situation, are disappointed, deflated, and the agent has provided a glimmer of hope that they might be able to secure a home by sending a letter to local homeowners.

Before you do that, however, I highly suggest you have a plan, some rules around how that plan will be rolled out, and have a general buyer letter template ready to go that you can customize as your buyers' needs change.

Has the Buyer Really Stepped Up to the Challenge?

If the buyer hasn't been thoroughly vetted and approved, isn't being realistic about what financially it is going to take to buy a property, is going after properties that they really can't afford in this market and won't expand their search parameters, then the buyer HASN'T done their part. If they haven't, why are you spending your time and hard-earned money to send out a letter?

In my rulebook, Buyer not ready? Buyer not realistic? No letter!

Have a Strategy Session

If you have determined the buyer has indeed and will indeed do their part, before sending a letter, have a strategy meeting with the buyer about their expectations and targets, and then have a discussion that asks the “what if”s. What if you have a homeowner that is willing to sell off-market but they want to negotiate a price? What if the kitchen is in need of updates? What if during the inspection you learn that the roof needs to be replaced?

Starting the conversation with a homeowner who doesn't have their property on the market and with no photos to go by can be a challenge and you don't know what you are going to get. Having some good conversation ahead of time to make sure your buyer is prepared to complete a transaction in a non-orthodox way will save everyone time and money down the road. Some buyers may mistakenly think that because the seller is willing to work with them off-market they have a leg-up. However, I have heard of many a seller who decided that working with a demanding buyer just wasn't worth it but already had it in their mind to sell and decided to list on the open market, leaving the buyer standing there with their mouth open in surprise wondering what just happened.

No Throwing Mud

I have heard of agents sending out thousands of letters to homeowners all over the area. And then, who gets the calls? The agent! Who has to go meet with the homeowner to see if the home is even a contender? The agent! Who has to field the phone calls? The agent! And who has spent their hard-earned money? The agent!

Don't let the buyer dictate how this process is going to go. Indicate how many letters you are willing to send out at once and then give the buyer some homework to do. You can either get a list of properties that meet the criteria from a title company or your company or MLS may provide a service that allows for list generation and then have the buyers eliminate any houses they have no intention of buying. That may include entire streets or individual houses, but get them eliminating so you don't waste your time or money.

Don't Just Send a White Envelope

I literally just had one of my favorite agents, Rae Anne Catron, say this week that she got a listing because she sent a letter in a branded envelope. It was compelling enough for an investor owner to open, read, and make contact. If you have a brand, it begins to make a personal connection as soon as the mail is picked up. The chance you run by sending a non-branded envelope is that it isn't interesting enough to open and if they don't recognize you name, they may think you are trying to sell them an extended warranty to their car and toss it. Every letter you send is a marketing opportunity!

Get Specific!

The most successful letters don't just say, I have a buyer who is interested in a house like yours. Call me. The most effective letters offer some sort of proof that this buyer exists and may actually be a buyer prospect for that particular property. Something like:

"My buyer has recently moved here from Texas and her mother lives on 34th St. Her mother is aging but would like to stay independent in her home with her daughter living nearby. The buyer is looking for a single-story home, with at least two bedrooms on the main level. The buyer also needs a two-car garage. Public records show that your property checks all these boxes. However, the buyer is also looking for a home with mature landscaping, and from what we see from the street, it has."

In addition to indicating you have an actual buyer, these details also engage people's natural desire to help. Some agents who have used this letter have indicated that homeowner recipients actually reach out with suggestions of homeowners to contact and some pass the letter onto others.

Close Strong

It is important to keep to the topic at hand and not be tempted to throw in if you are interested in listing, give me a call. That negates the buyer's need and can turn the letter into a negative! Instead, focus the call-to-action back to the buyers:

"If you have thought of selling and would be open to allowing my buyers to walk-through your home and start the conversation around buying and selling, please give me a call or send an email. I would be happy to talk with you first to answer your questions as I realize this may be a different approach than what you are used to in a real estate transaction."

Letter-writing sounds like old-school marketing, but with homeowners being inundated with new-school marketing, old-school may be just what you need to stand out and get your buyer into a property.

Hi. This story is long, so I will include a TLDR; at the beginning. If you or someone you know is included in the title subject group, I encourage you to read this. In-text citations are included and a reference list is at the bottom (APA6 for those who care). While I see there are links to certain articles about this subject, I believe my article is more comprehensive in coverage. Mods, if you feel this falls too close to the duplicate rule, I understand. This is something I'm dealing with currently and I wanted to share the results of my findings. I have put a great deal of effort into researching and citing this, so I hope it meets the standards.

TLDR:

Fifth Generation Ford Explorers have a problem dating back to 2011 with exhaust leaking into the cabin. Ford claims to have fixed it but it hasn't. This has caused accidents, lawsuits, and a large potential scandal to be swept under the rug. Get an inexpensive Carbon Monoxide detector to keep in the car if you fall into this category, it may save your life.

INTRODUCTION

I am writing this post as a precautionary tale to others who may be in my shoes. I own a 2013 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD with 110,000 miles on it. On Friday my wife complained of a migraine, which happens from time to time. On Saturday, the migraine was so bad she had to go to the ER. Her Check Engine light came on by Monday, at which point she took it to a trusted mechanic who read the code and told her that one of her catalytic converters was going out.

For those that don't know, "a catalytic converter is a device that uses a catalyst to convert three harmful compounds in car exhaust into harmless compounds" (HowStuffWorks, 2019). According to Popely (2019), a catalytic converter should last 10 years. This equates out to around 160,000-185,000 miles. The fact that this was failing after 6 years and 110,000 miles was a big problem. If a catalytic converter fails, it's usually a severe symptom of something else in the engine going wrong.

That same Monday, she noticed an odd smell in her car, something she described as a permanent marker type smell. The mechanic informed her that this was carbon monoxide and extremely dangerous. For those that don't know, according to The Mayo Clinic (2019),

Carbon monoxide poisoning occurs when carbon monoxide builds up in your bloodstream. When too much carbon monoxide is in the air, your body replaces the oxygen in your red blood cells with carbon monoxide. This can lead to serious tissue damage, or even death. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas produced by burning gasoline, wood, propane, charcoal or other fuel. Improperly ventilated appliances and engines, particularly in a tightly sealed or enclosed space, may allow carbon monoxide to accumulate to dangerous levels.

The symptoms of CO Poisoning include:

Dull headache

Weakness

Dizziness

Nausea or vomiting

Shortness of breath

Confusion

Blurred vision

Loss of consciousness

Carbon Monoxide does not simply leave your body as soon as you hit fresh air. Brain damage can occur and effects can happen even after leaving the CO filled environment. My wife was a sufferer of migraines but had taken steps to mitigate them, so it startled us that they had been reoccurring in recent months. I was looking online about this and found this was a systemic problem to the fifth generation Explorer that Ford simply doesn't know how to fix.

Known Cases

Since 2016, the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration (NHSTA) has been investigating this problem. As far as I can tell, the problem was first detected in the Police Interceptor model of the Ford Explorer (in commercial use) with incidents such as (Martyn, 2019) :

A Newport Beach, CA Officer passing out while driving, which led to him crashing into a tree.

An Auburn, MA officer also passing out while driving, rear-ending another vehicle (the department claims 4 officers have experienced CO poisoning).

A Henderson, LA officer losing consciousness and flipping her vehicle.

Five Austin, TX officers experiencing CO poisoning over a period of four days, leading to the department pulling 400 Explorer patrol vehicles from service.

Additionally, a Fall River, MA officer was hospitalized for CO poisoning in his cruiser (San Miguel, n.d.).

Furthermore, six Washington state troopers filed suit against Ford after receiving CO poisoning (Howard, 2019).

HOWEVER, the actual discovery of the problem dates back to 2011, when a Ford employee discovered this. Ford stated that they found "the circumstances needed to recreate the problem to be outside of typical customer use," (Hyatt, 2019).

For its part, Ford blamed the Police Departments, citing modifications found that were not factory standard. However, Ford does not have an explanation for the over 1,300 civilian complaints made to the NHSTA regarding the same problem.

Furthermore, "Captain James Thibodeaux of the Henderson Police Department responds that Ford has never inspected the Explorer involved in the crash that injured his officer. He says that the automaker contacted the police department’s insurer about arranging an inspection, but has yet to do so. As for Ford’s blaming the carbon monoxide leak on vehicle modifications, 'they can’t make that determination from this point at the case because they haven’t looked at the vehicle,'" (Martyn, 2019).

The Center for Auto Safety has pressured Ford to initiate a recall for the 1.3 million Explorers sold in that period, citing the over 1,300 documented cases. The NHSTA has stated it has received over 2,000 complaints as well that might be related to the exhaust problems because they mention "an exhaust smell, burning eyes, drowsiness, headaches, and nausea" (Riddle, 2019).

Although Ford has repeatedly denied responsibility, "Ford has reportedly issued technical service bulletins that pertain to the issue. The manufacturer acknowledged in a deposition that there appears to be a “design issue” that is still being evaluated" (Smith, n.d.). This slipped out in arbitration for one of the more than 50 legal grievances filed against the company (Beene, 2019):

Ford representative Bob Gray testifying in January 2015 that the Cassidys (one of the plaintiffs) couldn’t pursue warranty claims because the company had tried but couldn’t solve the problem. “It’s a design issue, not a defect,” Gray told the arbitrator, according to a transcript of the proceeding. “The fact that it’s being reported across the large number of vehicles would show that it’s not a defect in this particular vehicle.”

Ford quickly backpedaled, distancing themselves from the representative and saying that he misspoke and there were no design problems.

HOWEVER, another Ford representative in the Washington State Trooper lawsuit said this:

"During a Florida Better Business Bureau proceeding on Jan. 2, 2015, Ford's representative said, "We do feel that it's a design issue, not a defect ... It's simply a vent leading somewhere where it doesn't need to be; and, you know, it's just being set in a certain way that's — that's allowing it to draw it into the — into the vehicle," according to a transcript cited in the Washington State lawsuit" (Howard, 2019).

Ford backpedaled on this as well, once again citing the safety of their vehicles and a representative misspeaking.

What is this design issue? TO be honest, no one is exactly sure.

While Ford says that its vehicles are perfectly safe, "a police department in Montgomery County, Maryland has found that some vehicles have cracked exhaust manifolds, which is a part of the car that goes from the engine to the tailpipe" (Eklund, 2019).

This is supported by the NHTSA, according to Levine (2019), "In July 2017, NHTSA indicated the most likely culprit for the exposure of Ford consumers to potentially lethal amounts of Carbon Monoxide was cracked exhaust manifolds."

"The leaks were mostly found in the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter, which in the Explorer are welded together to form a single part. Problems identified in the records included porous welds, cracks and poor fits with other components that allowed exhaust to escape before exiting the tailpipe," (Beene, 2019).

Furthermore, the probe into this from the NHTSA has not included 2018 models, although complaints have been registered about those as well.

Did Ford do ANYTHING?

Ford implemented a program in 2017 that it said fixed the problem, with Explorer owners complaining of exhaust odors being able to bring their vehicle into a Ford dealership. Dealers will reprogram the air conditioner, replace the liftgate drain valves, and inspect the sealing at the rear of the vehicles, Ford said. All work will be done free of charge. This program expired on 31 December 2018.

According to Levine, (2019), "Ford issued a Customer Service Program (CSP-17N03) focused on less expensive and potentially less effective repairs such as reapplying weather sealant and reprogramming the climate control in order to give customers “peace of mind” but stated the “vehicles are safe.” The CSP did not vary dramatically from previous technical bulletins Ford has quietly been issuing since 2012 to address the same issue (See: TSB 14-0130, and TSB 16-016.)."

Additionally, if you didn't know (we sure didn't) (Beene, 2019):

As part of a 2016 deal to resolve a national class-action lawsuit alleging carbon monoxide problems in 2011-2015 Explorers. That nationwide settlement, which was finalized last September, provided $175 to $500 to customers who paid for repairs that didn’t work; extended warranties for the exhaust issue; and required Ford to issue a new bulletin to dealerships recommending repairs, which it did. In the settlement agreement, Ford didn’t admit to any liability. Drivers of 2016 and 2017 Explorers not covered by that settlement filed a separate case seeking class-action status in federal court in Detroit in October 2017. That case is ongoing. Meanwhile, proposed class-action suits have been filed in federal courts in New York State and New Jersey, both on behalf of law enforcement personnel who used Police Interceptor models.

Ford also did a buyback on approximately 100 of these Explorers as a "goodwill gesture", although they are not all completed and the owners are still using the Explorers, albeit with CO monitors.

Why not a recall?

While NHTSA has not finished its investigation and has not ordered a recall, other aforementioned groups have called on Ford to execute one. However, this recall would be in the seven figures and likely cost Ford somewhere in the hundreds of millions of dollars neighborhood.

As an example of how costly recalls are, (Beene, 2019):

Recalling the 1.3 million fifth-generation Explorers would be costly, but precise estimates are hard to come by—chiefly because it’s unclear what any fix might entail if NHTSA requires a new one. For context: Ford said in September that it would take a $140 million charge to recall around 2 million F-150s for faulty seatbelt components that could cause fires. In 2017, the company took a $267 million charge to recall 1.3 million F-Series pickup trucks in the U.S., Canada and Mexico to correct faulty door latches.

Did the "Fix" work?

Short answer: No. The Center for Auto Safety has received multiple complaints from consumers after they got the "fix", according to Levine (2019). Jason Levine is the Executive Director for the Center for Auto Safety and says that " Ford owners continue to file complaints with NHTSA about exposure to exhaust and carbon monoxide in their Explorers. Scores of consumers, even after receiving their “peace of mind” fix, continue to report experiencing the same symptoms as before their visit to the Ford dealership."

If you fall into this category of driver, I highly suggest you keep an inexpensive carbon monoxide detector in your vehicle.

Silver Linings

According to Hyatt (2019), "the good news, if there is any in all this, is that Ford is introducing an all-new Explorer for the 2020 model year, and the powertrain and exhaust setup are not being carried over wholesale." Even still, this is a company that is actively choosing to ignore a problem it discovered in 2011 and not do a recall. I know that I will never trust Ford again, and I am trading it in (with full disclosure to the dealer) tomorrow.

Caveat: While some reports have said this resolved the issue (Beene, 2019), further reading states that complaints persist (Hyatt, 2019). The free fix program concluded on 31 December 2018

The Dock Workers (Safety, Health & Welfare) Act, 1986 & The Dock Workers (Safety, Health & Welfare) Regulations, 1990 covers Dock operations, while The Building & Other Construction Workers (Regulations of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996) covers Construction Industry. In addition to the above mentioned legal structure, there are several other Acts, Rules and Regulations to ensures that all of their guidelines for health and safety are followed govern & guide for the workplace health and safety.  The Factories Act which has been amended from time to time, it covers only a trivial proportion of workers.

The Chief Inspector of Factories deals with the subject relating to OSH in the case of Factories at state level, while the Directorate General of Mine Safety (DGMS) is responsible for its implementation. OHS implementation for the Port sector is the responsibility of Directorate General of Factory Advisory Services (DGFASLI). Director General Labour Welfare (DGLW) (Labour welfare organization) is dealing the matters concerning policy and legislation related to workers in the un organized sector in India. The Building and Other Construction Workers’ Act, 1996, is being enforced by the Labour Commissioners at the Centre and at the State Level.

Apart from the legislative part with respect to Occupational Health and Safety, the Employers have a legal as well as social obligation to ensure their work environment is safe and regularly assessed for risk factors. There are the obvious and serious risks of injury and fatalities as a result unsafe practices. Poor workplace safety can cost companies substantial money, time and leave employers open to expensive legal liability. Non-compliance can risk significant fines, further compensatory liabilities, and reputational damage, the costs of compensation and lost time due to incidents.

  Even if the workplace is a safe environment, employers still have additional obligations; employer must also make sure they have appointed a qualified person to be responsible for health and safety checks, assessments, and enforcement within the workplace. Appointing a qualified health and safety professionals fulfils employer’s legal requirement and also supports employer to mitigate future liability and more importantly reduces the strain of micro-management on employers and employees within the workforce when trying to prevent injury and fatality. At present there are no stringent regulatory control over practicing OHS Professionals and there are lack of guidelines for OHS professionals in India, many of the people claiming to be OHS professionals are practicing without any formal education with respect to Occupational Health and Safety and/or professional training. That poses a public safety danger to Indian workers.

  In Germany, Australia and Italy, for example, federal and regional governments regulate the educational and professional qualifications required to work as an OHS professional. In the United Kingdom have placed in position an umbrella legislation and an apex institution to cover health and safety of workers in all the sectors and have devised sound mechanism for achieving significant development results. OHS professionals are regulated by Royal Charter status, which delegates oversight of the field to a government-recognized association.

  In Singapore, Workplace Safety and Health Officers (WSHOs) are regulated by the Workplace Safety and Health Regulations. To practise as a WSH Officer in Singapore, one has to be registered with Ministry of Manpower. In order to be a WSHO in Singapore, one must initially have successfully completed a training course to equip himself/herself to be a WSHO and have at least Two year’s practical experience relevant to the work to be performed by a WSHO in Singapore.

  Overall, several countries with similar systems of government to India are leaders on regulating Occupational Health and Safety professionals, which ensures consistency and drives best practices for the health and safety of workers. In India, the trend towards government oversight of professions is clear and strong. Clearly, there is still much room to improve OHS regulations and outcomes in India. A cornerstone of that push for safer and healthier workplaces should be the study of other countries and their success in that area. Also, regulating Occupational Health and Safety professionals would be essential and important step like some of countries have done. It is imperative that India also adopts a similar approach within a compressed time frame. It would be a significant step forward in making India’s workplaces safer and healthier. In addition, it shall bring the recognition and respect for the practicing professionals.

  Writer’s view for improvements;

  The Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoL&E) must introduce the mandatory requirements of Registration for OHS professionals engaged in Occupational Health and Safety practice.

  An individual professional shall be registered as OHS Professionals in one of the following category based on his/her present OHS work profile;

1.OHS Auditor (Lead Auditor, Auditor, Consultant, Adviser, Specialist) - Evaluate, observe and make suggestions to improve the effectiveness of OHS Management systems.

2.OHS Officer (Managers, Engineers, Officers, Executives) – Identify assess, control and manage OHS risks and develop OHS management systems and culture.

3.OSH Staff (OHS Supervisor, Inspector, Coordinator, Administrators, Technicians) – Coordinate and monitor the implementation of OHS management systems for recognition, assessment, control and management of OHS risks.

4.OHS Representative (Advocates, Legal advisers).

All the practicing OHS Professional must have valid registration irrespective of whether that the candidate is citizen of India or from overseas wiling to practice in India.

  OHS Trainee can be excluded from the registration process still they remain as OHS Trainee. Upon eligibility, the individual OHS trainee can apply for registration on submission of necessary OHS prerequisite qualifications and OHS work activity report validate from the OHS department of his/her work organization/s.

  Age: at least 21 years

  Academics Requirements:  

Minimum qualification desired is;

Diploma in Engineering from Govt. recognized Institution, or

Bachelor of Science from Govt. recognized Institution, or

Engineering Degree from Govt. recognized Institution, plus

  OHS Qualifications Requirements: Minimum requirements to be recognized as OHS Professional are;

Applicant must hold one of the following OHS Professional qualification,

Diploma in Industrial Safety, as issued by the State Government Departments/Boards of Technical Education, Government of India

Advanced Diploma Course in Industrial Safety, from RLI’s & CLI’s India Regional Labour Institutes (RLI) in Chennai, Faridabad, Kanpur, and Kolkata and the Central Labor Institute in Mumbai (CLI).

Post-Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from Govt. recognised University or and Institutions.

  ** Applicant possessing Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Govt. recognised Institutions may be exempted from the listed above Academic Qualification.

  Governing body need to decide how they can include the overseas OHS Professionals, in case they are allowed to practice, the individual must get registration done as OHS professional from the authorities provided they meet registration criteria including age, work experience, (the individual need to provide documentary proof, e.g. a testimonial from your employer specifying clearly the period of employment where you served in a OSH-related designation) and applicant must hold one of below mentioned the credentials at the time of registration:

·         Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from BCSP, USA.

·         Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).

·         NEBOSH National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, UK.

·         Professional Member of Singapore Institution of Safety Officers (SISO).

·         Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH).

  Note: Above mentioned credentials are merely example of well-known credentials for OHS Professionals. It is the discretion of OHS Professional registration authority for include similar other education programs or omit from the list above.

Work Experience:

In order to qualify for the OHS Professional, the applicant meet following requirements.

*Minimum 1 years of work experience for the applicant holding Master and/or Bachelor’s, in Industrial Safety or Occupational Health & Safety.

or

*Minimum 2 years of work experience for the applicant holding Diploma or Advance Diploma or Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety or Occupational Health & Safety.

  Registration Validity:

  Registration shall be required to be renewed every 5 years after initial enrolment. Registered OHS professional need to maintain the records in the form of Continual Development Professional Development (CPD). Individual need to submit the documented evidence related to CPD upon advised by Registration authority. CPD refers to the development of new skills or knowledge and maintenance of existing knowledge and skills to ensure it remains up to date.  CPD can be undertaken for personal or professional development.

  Similar to OHS Professionals, the registration process must be initiated for Industrial Hygienist (IH)/Occupational Hygienist (OH) professionals practicing in India, with inclusion of requirements of IH qualifications, work experiences etc. 

Note: Details specified under work experience and other categories are purely an examples. It is up to the Registration authority to carryout changes in the requirements.
