Lovers, come get your groom!
Smitten is here to look dashing ✨ and sweep you off of your feet — and he's already dressed up!
Design notes:
Based on a peacock; symbol of love, vanity and cosmic majesty.
As a part of Slayer's psyche, represents Passion + Uncritical Infatuation
Inspiration: a swashbuckling adventurer (boots, trousers and duelist cape) and a prince (flowing poet's shirt, lavish decorations to match the Princess).
Every design element directs your eye to his chest/heart. ("I wouldn't mess with him. He has very strong feelings.")
The duelist cape is not only fancy and theatrical to fit his personality, but also wide open (vulnerable) and asymmetrical (skewed priorities).
Is part of "the knights" (him, Hero and Skeptic) but wears no protective gear whatsoever. Smitten is confident that he won't get hurt unless he thinks he deserves it.
The frills on the shirt matches Damsel's frilly dress.
Big love = big man = big arms for carrying his beloved to safety!
Heart-shaped hair buns for a relaxed, soft look. He's all friendly curves.
Peacock antennae = hair pins, with more hearts like visual noises. Surely, she can hear his spirit!
Peacock face markings = fluffy, shapely beard for a virile, masculine energy (and for the record, I ADORE butch Smitten headcanons)
Default/Damsel look is gold + crystal. Here, the cape decoration is directly modeled after Base Princess' crown, while the gold comes from the single color mentioned from Damsel's basement. He's a simple rescuer, a golden trophy. His boots are brown for the classic swashbuckler boot (+ matches Hero's brown feathers).
Burned Grey look is black (both a groom about to be wed and a widower) with the cape tattered (love lost/tarnished). The white pearls on the brooch are the same kind as Grey's crown.
Thorn look is dark red with black boots, a somber and bloody color scheme for our history with the Witch and Thorn's mood. And yet a passionate, romantic red. Wears a single poppy, picked from Thorn's cabin... it's as if he's dressed for a date, with a flower in his lapel.

1920s BIRTHSTONE LOOKBOOK - PART 1
To coincide with the recent release of the Crystal Creations pack I wanted to put together a couple of fun lookbooks inspired by birthstones. My mind first went to whimsigoth, but since I've already done one of those recently I instead went with the decade that oozed glittery glamour - the 1920s. Want more good time gals and fabulous flappers? You can check out part two here.
Garnet was believed to be a protective stone, which made it popular amongst warriors and royalty. Red variety garnets are also associated with vitality, love and light.
Tiara | Hair | Earrings (TSR) | Capelet (TSR) | Dress (retired - direct download) | Brooch | Gloves | Bracelet (TSR) | Ring (TSR) | Stockings (Base Game) | Shoes
Amethyst was favoured by the ruling class thanks to its purple colour, which has long been a hue connected to royalty. Over time it has also come to be associated with spirituality, mental clarity and healing.
Hair | Hairband | Earrings (TSR) | Necklace (TSR) | Coat | Gloves | Ring (TSR) | Stockings (Base Game) | Shoes
Aquamarine comes from the Latin word for seawater and as such, was thought to protect seafarers. The stone can also be associated with martial happiness and superior intellect.
Hairband | Hair | Earrings | Necklace (TSR) | Dress | Cuffs | Ring | Shoes
Diamond is probably the most well known of the precious gems. Because of their association with strength and eternal love, they're a popular choice for engagement and wedding rings.
Hat | Hair (retired - direct downloand) | Earrings (TSR) | Necklace & Armbands | Dress | Gloves | Stockings (Spooky Stuff) | Shoes
Emerald has a legend that says wearing it will imbue the wearer with heightened intelligence and objectivity. Others use the stone to promote healing, while some even believe it allows the wearer to predict the future.
Hair | Hairband | Earrings (TSR) | Necklace | Dress | Gloves (Vampires) | Bracelet (TSR) | Ring | Shoes (TSR)
Pearl is often valued for its unblemished surface and colouring, so naturally it is most commonly connected to qualities like honesty, purity and wisdom.
Hair | Hairband | Earrings (retired - direct download) | Necklace | Dress | Fur Stole (Curseforge) | Bracelets | Stockings | Shoes

I just wanted to show my collection of what I consider my "fairy jewelry." My fairy aesthetic is mainly about twinkling gold and silver, pearls, stars, and clear crystals - especially those with an iridescent rainbow sheen.
Lots of these pieces were either made by me or I embellished them.
Here's a cool thing for people with gauge earrings: you can make your own elegant plugs by finding pretty buttons, snapping off the loop on the back, and gluing them to a stack of one or two buttons (depending on how thick your earlobe is) that match your gauge size. Then glue a slightly bigger button to the back to keep it in place when you're wearing it. People won't even be able to tell they're plugs!
I also love making brooches from buttons. Hobby Lobby has lots of very beautiful ones for $1.99, and I got all my buttons there - both for the plugs above and the brooches below on the left. To make brooches, just snap off the metal loop and glue a flat-backed pin to the back; they sell those especially for brooches, although in a pinch you can glue a safety pin to the back or secure it with some wire matching the color of the button.
The brooches on the right were some of my favorites that I either made (like the moon face) or bought.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my collection!

Downton Abbey Fashion 18 - post-war evening dresses
I feel like all the dresses I personally find beautiful are the ones that are not allowed to come back for another season. Unfortunately, this applies to a large part of Cora’s early wardrobe.
Interestingly, while I’m pretty sure she wears this champagne evening gown at least twice, I think she never wears it without the dark brown velvet robe. At least I don’t remember having seen the sleeves of the dress. The colors are a nice enough match, but nothing on either piece points to them having been made as a set. The dress is embroidered in crystal or glass beads, the coat apparently in pearls. But anyway, this dress is lovely!
More velvet, this time in plum over a pink silk base layer. Plus a little white lace trim. So far, so nice, although I don’t know why they made the sleeves of yet another fabric instead of working out something similar to the deep cowl collar. But fine, the beige works as a nice backdrop to a little flower embroidery.
Cora can’t keep off the velvet this season – time for some black. It’s fashionable black, not mourning black, so Cora can afford to pretty it up with netting on sleeves and shoulders, tassels on the sleeve hems, a big brooch in the front, and some gorgeous lace gloves that I desire with a vengeance. Despite this being a quite heavily decorated dress, I think the neckline would invite a discreet little necklace. Ah well.
*sigh* This red silk work is quite an iconic look, and one that stays into season 3. I’m gonna level with you: I think it outstays its welcome. I don’t like this one. Oh, it’s a fine dress in theory; the embroidery is lovely, the red shades coordinate well with the golden shoulder straps, I’m a fan of the fluttery sleeves. But the cut of this bodice isn’t doing Cora’s figure any favors. Is there any reason to make her waist look so disproportionately short without really hitting the Edwardian empire waistline?
Much better. This goes a lot more into 1920s styles with the drapey chiffon top, and I think the hip overlay (sash?) looks very pretty. It’s the only heavily embroidered piece, which seems unusual for the muted coloring of the dress, but it merges very nicely into the wide sleeve cutouts with the jewel trim.
Yay, black dresses with embroidery are keepers for season 3. Okay, this is not the worst of them; the gold thread with beads makes for a pretty cute look, but why does Cora wear a sleeveless dress for Christmas? Or is this a shirt? The skirt is greyer, so it might be separate.
--------------
There’s something with this season and brown dresses. It doesn’t always work in the wearer’s favor. I mean, I like this pleated wrap style, but the head scarf really washes out Rosamund’s beautiful ginger hair and the dress doesn’t give any other color pop either.
Hey, look, it’s a black dress with golden beading. You know what this means: It’s spectacular enough to stay into season 3! I’m getting very tired of this, but I can’t just bitch. The chiffon sleeves are cute, and there’s this style of little grape bundle earrings that pops up here and there across the show.
A black dress I find remotely interesting? Can only be here for one season. See, this one pulls off the empire waist Cora’s red silk dress didn’t want to commit to. And the top is basically just one big stretch of gold brocade (plus or minus some black chiffon for the sleeves). Damaged brocade, by the look of that second image. Is this an original? Is that why they couldn’t keep it around?
One of the subtler favorites of mine: The use of these black scallops is just delicious, how they open to diamond shapes on the arms (over barely visible chiffon that has exactly the color of Rosamund’s skin) and are held together with actual diamonds. I love it, it’s wonderful despite not having made a spectacle out of it.
These shots are not great, but this is rather a lovely dress, albeit one that is in Edwardian style and is thus beginning to look out of fashion. The skirt is some silverish blue velvet that pairs nicely with the paler-colored top, all crepe-work wrapped in a V over a simple light blue base layer. Also, behold the trim. It sparkles!

The Princess of Wales + Festival of Remembrance
(2015)The then Duchess of Cambridge accessorised with the diamond earrings that are thought to be a wedding gift from Prince Charles.
(2016) The Duchess wore her Oscar de la Renta earrings.
(2017) We saw the return of the Collingwood Pearl and Diamond. They were a gift to the late Diana, Princess of Wales and part of her private jewelry collection.
(2018) It’s possible Kate wore a different pair of earrings, not the Queen’s pair. One suggestion is the Pearl and Crystal Earrings by J Crew. Kate’s brooch also appears to be on loan from the Queen, a piece first seen in July 2017 at services in Belgium commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Passchendaele.
(2019) Kate’s earrings are the diamond/pearl drop pair seen previously, on loan from HM. The brooch worn with Kate’s poppies could be a piece we have seen before. I’m thinking of the one that features oak leaves and four “acorns”
(2021)The Duchess also wore the Collingwood diamond and pearl drop earrings that belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, and Diana’s three-strand pearl bracelet.
(2022) Many recognized jewelry worn by the Princess, including the Four-Row Pearl and Diamond Choker, worn by the late Queen and Diana, Princess of Wales. The Princess of Wales also wore the Bahrain Pearl and Diamond Drop earrings.
(2023) The Princess wore the same necklace she paired with the Wickstead dress in September 2022, a triple-strand pearl necklace that belonged to the Queen. Her earrings tonight were the Bahrain Pearl and Diamond Drop earrings. The Princess wore a single poppy this evening, pinned to her dress by the Queen Mother’s Dragoon Guards brooch.

"Eye" brooch, early 19th century, English
Portrait miniature possibly on ivory; pearls; rock crystal; gold
So-called Lover’s Eye jewelry was fashionable between 1780s and 1830s both in England, on the Continent and in America. This fashion seems to have been initiated by the Prince of Wales (the future George IV), who sent a miniature of his own eye to his lover, Mrs. Mary Fitzherbert. Such miniatures were mounted as rings, pendants or brooches and were worn by the beloved. Associated with purity and tears, pearls are frequently set into the frame of this kind of jewelry and might have added a commemorative aspect to the jewelry, to remember a deceased loved one.

in big dreams
Pinched between thumb and forefinger, the black feather catches the light, for a moment turning umber.
"It's so pretty," Maria marvels, turning the brooch a fraction-inch to peer at someone just beyond it; a crescent grin touches upon her face, and when she laughs, it is a bright sound, unmistakably joy. With this, she thinks her heart feels warmer -- fuller. Quite proudly, she pins it to her dress.
"Hee hee... I like it a lot!"

Her mother had always been the one to outfit her for similar occasions — and, grudgingly, Ivy had to admit that the woman had an eye for style. She arrives late — uncharacteristic of her, but so is the way she fusses over every minute detail of her outfit. Presentability was usually forefront on her mind — how she would come across, how it would reflect back on her and Elusia… but small whispers flitted around her mind, wondering if he’d like the flowers or if the crown of thorns was a little… much.
Whatever the case, she is here for the night and keen to enjoy it to the fullest extent of the word — at least to the fullest extent of her understanding of it. Queen Ivy of Elusia takes a deep breath, straightens her shoulders, sweeps her hair back, and steps into the Ethereal Ball.

I love your slay the princess voice designs! How do you imagine your designs in the moment of clarity route? Do you think they would have design changes or just appear exhausted/weak/disheveled?
Thank you very much! Moment of Clarity is an interesting one. Certainly, all of them will appear exhausted/weak/disheveled, and any cloth would be tattered at the ends. Paranoid and Cheated's default looks stay the same. Paranoid is blood red and black, hood up, while Cheated's fit is torn up, with a red accessory. You'll understand when you see him shortly.
Smitten would be in his Grey look, like a tarnished widower. Only instead of pearls, he wears the crystal brooch, since Clarity/Nightmare has Base Princess' crown.
Cold is an exception, in that no other route than Clarity changes his appearance. Here, he would ditch his white cloak, as a visual symbol for no longer being passive, trying to get closer to the Player, and convince us his way is The Way.
As for ones y'all haven't seen yet: Skeptic would be cowering in his closed cloak, hood up, as he normally keeps it open and down. Hero would be missing pieces of his plate armor (forearm and shin/knee guards + chestplate). Broken is in his default look, but I'm considering if his thin silver collar ring (which he happily wears for Tower) would instead become a heavy golden one, to reference Clarity's offer of a gilded cage.

tearjerker, heartbreaker
It would figure that these hoity-toity shits would host a party like this. Beowolf arrives on the scene as he always does - fifteen minutes late, flask in hand, immaculately dressed (NOTE: as of this post Beowolf is now shirtless, as of this post he is wearing a neckerchief, and as of this post he is wearing @hermidetta's capelet), and ready to get shit going.
You'll find him making his way around the event, schmoozing, offering laughs and stories (and a drink or two, if he feels you need the social lubricant), and generally out to have a good time. If you ask him nicely he might even let you see the delicate teardrop ornaments he's pinned over his heart.
[WEEK ONE PROMPTS] [WEEK TWO PROMPTS] [WEEK THREE PROMPTS]
Brooches Collected:
Black feather - Hilda, Quan, Altena, Elincia
White feather - Naesala, Seliph, Kamui
String of pearls - Eliwood, Lambert
Small bell - Nephenee, Isadora, Ratatoskr, Sephiran
Teardrop crystal - Ethlyn, Andrei, Bernadetta
