Our trip is scheduled.

Friday Dec 20 - Hubbins & Mandana travel with me to the half way point (5hr drive) and we stay the night at an Airbnb

Saturday Dec 21 - We travel some more (3hr drive) and arrive at the breeders hometown. We check into another Airbnb and then go visit with the puppy and breeder for a while but puppy stays with them for the night.

Sunday Dec 22 - We leave the Airbnb, pick up the puppy and travel back to our halfway point (1.5hrs + 3hrs) We spend our first night with the puppy at the first Airbnb we visited.

Monday Dec 23 - We finish our trip home (5hrs) and get settled in. Hubbins will have the next few days off work so we can spend time as a family.

I’m looking forward to visiting with the breeder. I think we will be one of the first ones picking up their puppy so we should be able to meet Taravali’s siblings, parents and other related dogs on site. I made the breeder a nonslip dog mat as a gift. Her kennel name is Crystal Creek Standard Poodles so I was excited to use this fleece I found on spoonflower.

Litter Description

Predicting we will bring home a blue & white (possibly black & white) parti female who is temperament tested for service work. If we don’t get a female with the right temperament & size we will move on to a later litter.

We have decided to breed Seiga to Mercy. This will be a total knockout litter with all black or blue parti puppies anticipated. Seiga and Merc are both successful show dogs, Seiga is a multiple Best in Show placing dog, and finished 2023 as the #3 MC Standard poodle in UKC. Merc’s full brother finished the same year as the #2 MC standard poodle. Seiga’s sire finished as the #2 solid standard poodle.

This pairing is full of generations of highly accomplished show dogs in both AKC & UKC. Merc and Seiga are both very easy to live with. Seiga is medium energy and highly handler focused. Merc is lower energy than Seiga, but not quite a couch potato. He is easy going and a total sweet heart.

Their puppies should be pretty easy going for the average family.

Seiga is in season and will be bred to Merc.

This will be our first Parti to Parti breeding since January of 2020! We have been dedicated to improving parti-colored poodles since 2015, and that means we have spent a lot of years producing solid only puppies or solid litters with the chance of parti.

Seiga has multiple Best in Shows under her belt, she finished as the #3 Multi Standard Poodle in 2023

She holds an impeccable pedigree for a parti.

She is being paried to GRCH Mercury, who has a mostly parti-color pedigree but has generations of top ten placing dogs behind him on his dam and sire side. His mother Houston was one of the earlier dogs to earn their Diamond Grand Championships. If I recall correctly, his Aunt Annie was the first Multi with a Diamond GRCH when UKC added gemstone levels. (Merc, Houston & Annie all were bred by Rose City poodles in Texas)

This pairing will be absolutely phenomenal, and we are so excited to meet these puppies come October.
