Today's sketch, a sprite of Cryptosporidium from Destroy All Humans. I love this way more than I probably should.

Cryptosporidium parvum: A Leading Cause of Diarrhea and Financial Losses in Calves
Cryptosporidium parvum, commonly known as "crypto," is a protozoan parasite that poses significant challenges for ruminant farmers, particularly those raising calves. It has emerged as one of the most frequent causes of diarrhea in young calves, leading to major health concerns and economic losses for farmers worldwide. Understanding the threat posed by Cryptosporidium parvum is critical to minimizing its impact on livestock operations.
Crypto is most often transmitted through contaminated water, feed, or direct contact with infected animals. Calves under the age of one month are especially susceptible due to their underdeveloped immune systems. Once infected, these calves typically develop severe diarrhea, known as "scours," which can rapidly dehydrate and weaken them. Scours caused by Cryptosporidium can persist for days, leading to a considerable reduction in feed intake and stunted growth.
The financial implications of Cryptosporidium infections can be devastating for farmers. The costs of veterinary care, medications, and loss of productivity in recovering calves add up quickly. In addition, calves that suffer from crypto tend to experience slower growth rates, which delays their ability to reach breeding weight and reduces their overall lifetime performance. For dairy and beef producers, this translates to fewer productive animals and, ultimately, lower returns on investment.
Cryptosporidium parvum is a persistent challenge that ruminant farmers must address to safeguard calf health and minimize financial losses. Preventive measures such as ensuring clean water, proper sanitation, and early intervention can help mitigate the risks posed by this common parasite.

You can summon Kojira (not to be confused with Godzilla no sir) to aid you in battle and she does a pretty good job! She also shrieks A LOT and her appearance in cut scenes is 10/10.
She is tiny but mighty.
