HUNTER:

Hunter doesn't mind cuddling, but it's really hard for him to enjoy it as much as you do.

He mainly does it because you like it.

Because of his senses, it's really hard for him to relax, or even fall asleep when there's someone pressed against him on the refused space of his bunk.

However, he knows you enjoy it so he makes exceptions for you.

Does he like being cuddled? Yes and no.

On one hand, he feels like he has to protect you, and being seen as weak by you is something he's not fond of. Even when it comes to simple cuddling.

On the other hand, there's very specific moments in which Hunter will let himself be 'pampered' by you, and you spooning him is one of those moments.

ECHO:

Echo doesn't feel comfortable with spooning or any type of cuddling unless it's something similar to forehead-to-forehead.

He feels insecure about his prosthetics and in fact believes he will damage you somehow and thus the reason behind it.

As I said, he does make an exception for something more basic, such as forehead-to-forehead type of cuddling.

He loves having your face close, so that he knows you're close to him. And real.

He also likes holding your hand while you're cuddling together.

WRECKER:

Wrecker adores cuddling, and if he could, he'd skip missions to stay with you.

He's definitely a big spoon, he loves being one, and you do not mind.

He loves spooning you but he also loves it when you two fall asleep with your foreheads pressed together.

He finds it endearing.

Now does he like being cuddled? The answer is no, he doesn't.

He loves cuddling, whether you're the big spoon or the one being spooned.

He just likes the feeling of having you close.

TECH:

He isn't a huge fan of cuddling, but he will let it happen sometimes.

He likes it when you have your head on his chest while he types into his datapad.

He's not a big fan since he can't move much, but he secretly loves it when you suggest it.

He's not one to ask but he will let you cuddle him for a short while if he's not busy.

He will ramble about stuff while you cuddle, and will probably caress your hair.

He was really awkward at first but now he's not that stiff when you two cuddle.

CROSSHAIR:

He secretly loves it, though he refuses to admit it.

He's very closed off at first, but will consider it after you insist for the thousandth time.

He secretly loves it when you rest your head on his chest, it makes him feel alive and loved.

He will allow himself to relax sometimes and will caress your hair with his hands, gently leading you to slumber.

He's a big spoon most of the time.

However, he dislikes the feeling he gets when you decide to be the big spoon, and cuddle his body.

It makes him feel weak and he hates it. Which is a lie, since he actually loves it and he feels safe.

So I just saw a post saying that Wrecker listens to metal but doesn't know what it is (think Star Trek Jaylah's "I like the beats and shouting!"), meanwhile Hunter listens to metal but DOES know what it is. And I, a heavy music enthusiast, just HAD to expand on this

Wrecker listens to thrash metal, it's big and loud and sounds like explosions. He also likes Viking metal and folk metal (I can imagine him loudly chanting along to "DIGGY DIGGY HOLE! DIGGY DIGGY HOLE! I AM A DWARF AND IM DIGGING A HOLE!" with Omega giggling on his shoulders). But he doesn't only like metal, it's just one of many things he finds fun and exciting

Hunter, on the other hand, is into alt rock and a bit of metalcore and deathcore. He has a deep understanding of harsh vocals and can probably do some of it himself (he would be FASCINATED by the types of screams that impersonate animals, like pigsqueals and growls), he has a lot of strong opinions but prefers to just go to the woods and scream than to participate in fanbase discourse

Tech is a math rock and prog metal nerd. He would listen to jazz, but he got kicked out of all the local jazz bars for commentating the music too loudly ("Interesting polyrhythm, though I don't believe it adds to the composition so much as subtract from the previous syncopation- Ah! Genius use of the chromatic scale! In fact-" *gets decked*)

Crosshair is a post-punk gatekeeper and hates people who wear joy division shirts without knowing the band. He (obviously) had an emo phase in his teens and instead of growing out of it he just moved on to gothic rock. He sticks to his subculture and, like him, feels it is deeply misunderstood

Echo is into 80s pop and rock because its REAL music that makes you MOVE and BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER, he says as he turns everyone else's competing radios down. But secretly, just maybe his preference is partially because it reminds him of belting out classics with domino squad when they had access to radio for the first time on rishi...

Omega, of course, loves all of it. Oh, but she's also a K-pop stan. Also, Hunter managed to get her into Babymetal some time ago and is starting to regret it because she is certified OBSESSED

1 - What’s your favorite thing about the show? In other words, what made you fall in love with the series? 

There are so many things. If I name them all I'd never end. But, one of my favorite things is that, on its core, the show was always about family. That even when external circumstances and pigheadedness from people involved made the road super rocky, the batch fought united and that's what made it possible for them to get a life they wanted and deserved. I love that it fairly realistic in the sense that sometimes you fight with your family, that even want to shake them to put some sense in them, you can have loses, but in the end, if you stay together, got each other's back, you can make things that seem impossible, possible.

13 - What jobs do you think each of the Batchers would have in a Modern AU? 

Hmm, let's see:

Tech, predictably, would work in computer science. But in which side of the law? There's room for him to be with a foot on each side. Probably, he'd have a normal job in a HighTech or inventions Company (his own perhaps) but also would have a side, "hidden" life as a hacker; not with malicious intentions or anything, just to prove his superior skills hacking into places he shouldn't be... and maybe doing some cyber-vigilantism? You know, righting greedy corporations wrongs.

I see Wrecker as a veteran turned teacher. Hear me out! He'd be that kind of Super Cool High School Chemistry teacher, that it's a little crazy or unhinged, but who's adored by all his students. Everyone would want to be in his class because he always makes the subject interesting and let students do cool experiments (safely!). He hates failing anyone and he gives extra attention to students who are struggling.

Echo would be an Army man, through and through. No matter in what galaxy he is in. After retirement, probably he'd work with his Army buddies (Rex & co) in a Security Company or something like that.

Crosshair would be a secretly famous romance writer. Every novel he writes becomes number 1 in every list, but nobody knows he's the author, except Omega. She keeps the secret. And Crosshair is just as snarky and grumpy as ever but romantic at his core.

Hunter would do work in a youth center as the manager or something like that. Maybe that's where he met Omega and ended up first fostering and then adopting her.

19 - What are some headcanons you have about Crosshair?

As you read above, he's a romantic at his core, and in-universe, I think his dirty pleasure is to read romance novels. He'd die before admitting it. Also, he'd extremely romantic with his SO, but only when nobody else is watching and once he has finally accepted that he has feelings for them. He has a super thick armor around his heart and not everyone can make it crumble away, but the person who manage to do it will have an unbreakable loyalty and faithfulness from Crosshair for the rest of their life. He's not someone that will go from relationship to relationship.

25 - What are your favorite things about each Batcher?

Wrecker: His zeal for life, for having fun. How he focus on the positive and not the negative. And most of all, his emotional intelligence. Yeah, he's boisterous most of the time, but he also knows when he needs to be the one giving support to others.

Crosshair: I love everything about him. I wouldn't change anything about him, not even his worst traits. It's what makes him, him. And I know that that prickling, abrasive exterior is to protect himself, to protect his soft heart.

Tech: His bluntness. I guess because I can relate to that. I also can be blunt, so I get him.

Hunter: I love how protective he is with his family. He'd anything for them, to pull them out of the way from harm.

Echo: The strength of his convictions. How much he gives of himself to fight for what he believes in.

Omega: Her capacity for love, for seeing good in everyone, always willing to give second chances.

Bad Batch Ask Game!

This is ironic because next Tuesday I will be at the airport at 3pm on a work trip! Are you secretly my boss? 👀 If so, I deserve a raise!

Rex- Carrying coffee around for hours. Has probably hit starbucks 4 different times already and their wait time for their flight is only 2 hours

Echo- An oddly specific one. Blonde haired, messy bunned girl wearing a white t-shirt, black athetic shorts OR grey sweatpants, wearing birkenstocks, carrying a vera bradley backpack and a rolling bag, with her travel pillow hanging around her neck. I see them every time! Just pure absolute comfort

Fives- that one asshole sleeping on the ground with their legs sticking out and their hood up.

Jesse- Deer in headlights, first time traveler who has a PAPER TICKET with them. Bless these adults

Kix- The person whose phone is cranked up and they are talking and laughing loudly on it as they wander

Tup- no hesitation business traveler who has no problem running you over on the moving sidewalk to get to the business lounge.

Dogma- mentions to the clerk they have preboarding like 5 different times and asks to make sure they will be first to let on

Hardcase- the bachelorette party coming back from an extended weekend in Miami.. literally the worst flight experience of my life

Coric- The person running across 4 terminals with all of their belongings to catch their next flight because they thought flying into atlanta with only an hour between flights was plenty of time

Bly- the annoying couple walking in front of you slowly with their wheelie bags and holding onto one another. If you miss your flight because of them its totally okay to steal their wedding rings.

99- the airport worker in the golf cart. idk why, but hes always there

Cody- Flight attendants/pilots that are quickly shuffling around the airport to their next flight. they travel in a fucking pack

Waxer/Boil- Mom with a toddler who cannot keep them entertained. pushing them around the airport in a stroller, giving them constant snacks and toys, and having to watch them pick it up everytime their child throws it and cackles

Wolffe- The very tired customer service rep at the flight desk.

Boost/Sinker- Same as Kix BUT sitting next to you at the gate while waiting for your flight

Hunter- The dad who thought it would be cheaper to take a family trip in the middle of the week so him, his wife, and their five kids are going through checklists, looking at pamphlets, and talking while they wait to board.

Wrecker- The loud kid asking everyone questions and running all over the terminal while their parents just ignore it.

Tech- The dude sitting right in the middle of the outlet area near your gate and hogging the whole fucking table. I hate these guys

Crosshair- The group of people who bought plane tickets, but did not reserve their seats so they are now asking everyone at the gate if they will trade so they can sit next to their friends. No maam I paid an extra few $$ to pick my seat I will not trade you.

Omega- The influencer. Look, I love Omega but there is some serious influencer vibes there. selfies all over the airport

Howzer- the security guard that keeps following me around. I know I didnt do anything illegal but seeing the same one over and over again keeps making me second guess myself. like i dunno AM i actually smuggling drugs?

Fox- The group of guys sitting at the airport bar!

Gregor- The man with literally all the snacks. Seeing him at every convenience store in the airport (thats me)

I love Guarded. Your characterizations are so spot on and the story is just gripping with so much great character development through the little, personal moments. ❤️ One thing I really loved is how Echo kind of helps Crosshair get over his own self-loathing and rejoin the team in spirit and not just in body. Because Echo is the best big brother ever to the Batch.

I also adore your recent ficlets with Fives and Echo, because the twins have my heart and my heart needs to be broken and mended on repeat apparently. 💔❤️‍🩹

WHAT IF… Crosshair were to return the favor by helping Fives re-assimilate with Echo? OMG I’m sure Crosshair would probably hate Fives - but he also secretly loves and appreciates Echo. I can’t imagine how crazy it must be for Fives to be reunited with his brother after all they have both been through and especially after all of Echo’s trauma.

Omg I’m so sorry and my brain is just running away with me tonight, but there’s an idea for you! Take it and run, or just click ignore. IDK if that would even be possible in the timeline. 😂 But here we are. Hurt my feelings Karrde!

First off THANK YOU. I spent WAY TOO LONG figuring out which brother was the best one to have it out with Crosshair, and ultimately, it had to be Echo. And I do love the idea of Crosshair helping Fives (although I think at first they'll be incredibly antagonistic towards one another... Fives would really struggle with the fact that Crosshair was a willing Imperial for a time). But perhaps with time (and some private discussions with Echo), Fives would soften towards him. He was there to save his twin when he couldn't be (despite the comment that got him a punch to the jaw), and I think eventually, Fives would be grateful for that and realize that without Crosshair, he wouldn't have this 'bonus' time with Echo, and I think that would soften him towards the sniper. They may never be good friends, but I think with time, they'll at least come to respect one another.

(also... we may see this happen in a later fic that's knocking around in my head, so act surprised if that happens)

A Month of Whump Day 7: Angst

Fandom: Star Wars The Bad Batch

Summary: Echo's with the Domino squad and with the Bad Batch.

    Echo looked around the Marauder. Wrecker, Cutup, and Fives sat together. They got along well. The three loved jokes and making people smile. They were loveable idiots.

    Hunter told stories of the batch's missions to Droidbait. He seemed entertained. Every now and again Tech would add some unnecessary detail. Typically the detail was rather laughed about or there would be an awkward silence.

    Crosshair tolerated Hevy. Secretly Echo thought the two were friends rather Cross would say so or not. The nine would sit together in the mess hall on Kamino. They smiled and talked most of the time. Of course the regs hated all of them so it was something they could all bond over.

    Going back to the barracks the group finally split. Echo layied down on his bed and told the batch goodnight. He fell asleep happily.

    Then Hunter woke him up and reality hit him like a brick. There was no Tapioca city, there was no Domino squad, and Crosshair was probably in a similar situation he had been in. The Republic was dead and so we're the jedi. The three he had been close to were young and so was the senator.

The war had been over for over a year now. All he had left was the batch and the men he now fought beside to save the others.

    "What Hunter?" Echo asked.

    "It's time to go." Hunter walked away to wake up the others.

    Echo sat up and not long after they landed. The Five walked off the ship unsure what was next for them. All they knew was that Crosshair was inside. Echo knew he couldn't have his dream world but maybe he could get closer. Just maybe they could all be a happy family again.

⚫️Crosshair is an incredibly light sleeper, and even the slightest noises or movements will wake him up near instantly. You've lost count of the times you've woken up to him sitting up in bed doing something, unable to get back to sleep and decided to get something done instead.

Usually it takes a good bit of wrangling to get him to put whatever it is down, silently placing it to the side and sliding back down to put his head back down on the pillow, and you can wrap an arm around him again and sleep.

A few times you've however caught him just thinking, glancing down at you every now and again as if he hasn't quite caught on that you're awake yet. You wonder what he's thinking in those moments, secretly watching as his face remains unreadable.

⚫️He's said multiple times that he hates the idea of 'dates' and all that 'lovey dovey nat-born stuff'.

However; Call yourself crazy, but spending an entire day of his shore leave out away from his brothers, walking next to each other while he finally isn't shipped away to some random planet; Is a date. Crosshair calls you a idiot for thinking that, but the next time he has time off he takes you to the training range and spends hours teaching you the in's and out's of his rifle, with gentle hands adjusting your form. His face will be pressed beside yours, as if trying to look through the sniper scope while showing you how to do the same.

It's not a date, he says because you asked about wanting to use his rifle before you'd even first kissed him. When he shows you how he shoots and you compliment him, he says some sort of snide comment you've already forgotten before going back to teaching you; Hands almost gentler than you've ever felt them against your own as he makes sure every finger is in the exact right place.

Yeah sure, it's not a date.

⚫️You now have all the others of Clone Force 99 in your datapad's contacts; As you are now pretty much the defacto person to call whenever Crosshair is being an irritable shit. It's like being a bomb technician, but without the hazard pay. You've woken up multiple times to your datapad being spammed, with all of them complaining:

-68340-43809(Hunter): Hey come deal with Cross I'm tired

-32423-34367(Tech): Are you still on Kamino? If so, we would appreciate if you dealt with Crosshair before he ends up hurting someone.

-43244-23467(Wrecker): HEY got a min to deal with somethin?

⚫️Like I mentioned in a previous post, Crosshair likes to be chased. He wants to be seduced, and be the one who's wooed. Not to say he won't come at you right back, but he wants you to make you work for it.

But he's also a brat; And will not, under any circumstances, make himself an easy catch. You always have your work cut out for you, and you're constantly nipping at his heels to keep him in line, and Crosshair loves it. You do too, but his habit of constantly complaining has unfortunately been rubbing off on you.

⚫️You've been startled multiple times by Crosshair knocking on your door, all the way until you let him in. During these times you're barely able to close the door before he's on you, gasping into his mouth as it's already pressed against yours.

Your fingers can only just manage to graze the button to close the door and his tongue is already swiping across your bottom lip, hands cupping your jawline. You don't know what brings these moments on; Maybe he needs to forget something, or remember you. You are more sure than anything however that he'll probably never tell, and you can just be content with enjoying it.

He'll always end up staying the night, silently pulling off pieces of his armor before climbing into bed with you.

Pairing: Crosshair x reader (no y/n)

Prompt: 19. Tell me do you hate me or do you wanna date me - Van Horn by Saint Motel.

Warnings: none. this is kind of shitty tho. a lil bit angsty too bc I love angst 😈

Word count: 994 heh

You weren't sure if Crosshair hated you or actually liked you, he was just so... difficult to decipher.

He was always looking at you, and at first you thought it was because he couldn't stand you, and now, well, you keep thinking that. And it wasn't just that, he did always avoid you when he got the chance, walking back the same way he came if he saw you approaching, he seemed annoyed when you're close enough, always going stiff and frozen in place, holding his breath and you didn't think your smelled that bad, Tech had actually complimented your perfume once, Hunter admitted it was "a nice smell that reminded them of home," and Wrecker had agreed to it, which had warmed your heart and brought tears to your eyes because you were the home they were talking about.

Crosshair had growled at that and went to their barracks without a word, to say that your heart was momentarily crushed was an understatement, but Wrecker made you feel better with a hug and saying they had brought you something, giving you a little necklace with a red stone hanging from it, Tech mumbling something under his breath about it "being Crosshair's idea, actually" that you didn't take the word for, but led you to your next statement:

Okay so, maybe, he didn't hate you.

Crosshair actually started conversations with you and huffed at your jokes –which that counts as a laugh coming from him–, and he would sit beside you when you had lunch with them and on the Marauder, he would ask if you needed anything or if he could help you when you fixed things, he was ready to give you his last ration bar if needed and his blanket if you got cold.

So yeah, maybe he could stand you. He was kind and thoughtful, and he always made a spare cup of caf for you in the mornings at the Marauder.

But you couldn't think of any of that as you were there, in the middle of nowhere as you waited for Hunter to give his orders. Fighting about Maker's knows what and it taking a completely different turn.

"You're always slowing us down."

"Slow you down? What's that even supposed to mean? I'm here to help you!" You throw push your finger on his chest plate, probably hurting you more than anything, but stand your ground. "Maybe if you did your job properly, the Republic wouldn't even ask me to join you." He snorts, narrowing his eyes.

"Maybe if you did your job properly, you wouldn't be asking the Republic for scraps."

Okay, ouch?

That was a low blow, even for him. And he knew it too because his eyes widened as soon as he saw you deflate and saw hurt flashing through your eyes.

You were with the Republic because the Separatists had taken enough from you, he knew that, everyone knew that. You weren't just a little dumb bounty hunter working with the Republic for scraps, you were working for justice, and for what was right, for those who couldn't fight for themselves and for those who could.

He calls your name, his hand raising as if he wanted to touch you, to comfort you, but decided against it, letting it drop before going:

"Listen–"

But you're having none of that.

"Why do you hate me so much?"

And he just, blinks at you, stunned, as if you had grown a second head out of nowhere and he can't find a way to react.

"I don't hate you." He says after a while, slow, as if he said it at normal speed you would completely miss the point.

But you still do.

Scoffing, you turn to look out for the boys again, looking for them in all the possible exits.

"Yeah, right." And he calls you again, and you wish he could just, stop; stop saying your name in that soft, snaky voice that makes your legs tremble and stop making you feel the way you do around him and just overall stop.

"I don't hate you," he repeats, this time softer, and you take a quick look at him and he looks so defeated, so sad, as if you had just told him the worst thing you could possibly think of.

You laugh humorlessly, looking at the sky as if it somehow would give you strength before finding his eyes.

"Well is that or you secretly want to date me," you half joke, an admission between lines that you hope to get nothing out of it because you don't believe it.

When you meet his eyes, expecting to find amusement or disgust, maybe something worse, a rejection of some sort disguised as pity, but instead they look sheepish and his cheeks are a few shades lighter than the red from his uniform along with the tips of his ears.

You can't believe it.

You can't believe him.

"You're joking." But he only smiles shyly.

"Kaminoans never taught us how to act on our emotions," he explains, and there's something flashing in his eyes that lets you know that's not exactly true. You raise your eyebrows and scoff, incredulous.

He made you feel ridiculous and stupid more than once because he couldn't tell you he had feelings for you? You don't know who's more dumb if him, or you for falling for him despite that.

"I could shoot you right now." He shrugs, crossing his arms over his chest, a little smirk showing on his lips and he lifts a brow, challenging.

"Or you could kiss me."

"Or," you sing, taking pause and a step forward, him holding you lightly, his hands feeling like feather on your hip and cheek, "I could shoot you." He chuckles lowly, humming a we'll see about that before pressing your lips against his, a silent apology behind the action.

Maybe he didn't really hate you after all.

The Bad Batch and Swimming

Been doing a lot of swimming/water therapy lately and I’m thinking about the boys swimming.

Hunter and Tech are the best swimmers, hands down. Both self-taught, out of necessity, not necessarily as a hobby, though both do enjoy it immensely. They’ve grown up surrounded by water. I think Tech and Hunter’s swimming abilities are viewed largely as just another asset, a skill they possess, something that can be of benefit to their squad.

Hunter: Hunter very much enjoys swimming and the idea of water therapy in particular is relaxing to him. It’s easy for him to get carried away—literally, as he’ll end up staying in the water for hours. I think he’d resign himself to just pools, though. Depth doesn’t matter. I just don’t think he likes open bodies of water. I think the vastness overwhelms him, makes him nervous. Hunter either channels his Olympic swimmer or gets his ass stuck in an inner tube; there is no in-between. Also, Hunter is the master of floating on his back and he looks quite adorable when he does. One account of water in his ears though and it’s all over for poor Sarge.

Tech: When Tech is graced with the opportunity for a leisure swim, this man is fully submerged, snorkeling his heart out. Swimming is not a sport to Tech. He is there to explore depths great and wide. He also has an incredible set of lungs, and can hold his breath a really long time. Any modality of swimming, Tech can do. He’s very educated on the forms and functionalities of each. Even though Tech is a magnificent swimmer, he secretly loves floaties. Do not deny him the ability to be buoyant. Also, he developed the best pair of swim goggles you’ll ever see. And uhm. Tech x Speedos.

Wrecker: Wrecker had a bit of an issue with the concept of buoyancy; it took a long time to convince him that his weight and density would not send him straight to the bottom where he couldn’t surface again. It was kind of an irrational fear of his for awhile. But once he overcame that fear and learned that he wholly controls his ability to stay afloat, Wrecker is there to have a great time and this man knows how to have fun in the water. Pool toys galore. Floaties. Deflating them because he’s so big. Comparing Crosshair to pool noodles and smacking him around with them when he stands around with a stick up his ass.

Crosshair: Surprise surprise, stick-bug man cannot swim. He has a rocky relationship with water; in fact he hates being wet, with showers being the only exception. The concept of swimming is awkward to him; flailing about, being jostled by waves, wet clothes clinging to your frame, shivering afterwards, no thank you. But he gets his fun in. Note: you do not want to be on the receiving end of Crosshair’s water gun vendetta. His aim is scary all the way around. Crosshair may not step foot in the water but will 100% stand on the sidelines and pelt his brothers to oblivion. Also, he does not trust floating beds one bit. He can’t float for shit and anytime he tries to use one he gets freaking capsized by Wrecker.

Echo: Okay so Echo can swim just fine. Could swim just fine. Prosthetics kind of changed that. Where Echo was once fearless in the waves he now has terrible anxiety over it. He only has one good swimming arm. His prosthetics are heavy and cumbersome, and off-set his stamina terribly. He knows, deep down, if he got caught up in rough waters… it wouldn’t end well for him. He’s just a machine. Machines don’t function in these elements. It sends him on the brink of panic to think about, but you would never know just by looking at him, looking on fondly at the others enjoying their swim. Longing to join them. Crosshair gives him a look, not sympathetic, but something gentle and refined the sniper seems to only gauge towards him. He gives him a pat on the back. They’ll watch from the sidelines, enjoying a lemonade that’s probably spiked with something, to take the edge off. Echo and Crosshair may not be swimmers, but that doesn’t stop them from being certified sun bathers. And no, they don’t wear an ounce of sunblock. Team melanin all the way.

Omega: Mega! Despite living on Kamino her entire life, baby sincerely can’t swim. At all. This is only learnt sometime after she joins the Bad Batch. After a near-drowning incident, Hunter and Tech kick into high gear and make it their top priority to teach her all the nuances of swimming; how to paddle, how to breathe, how to float, and pace herself. It’s a survival skill and she needs to know. Wrecker makes the swimming lessons fun and not so grueling; he brings Lula to cheer her on from the sidelines (of course everyone has to be super careful not to get her wet), and equips her with arm floaties for extra security. When she gets tired, Wrecker becomes a human submarine and swims underneath and lets her rest on his back. XD Later on when she gets really good, Wrecker calls her the ‘Megalodon’. XD

Until then; Echo thinks a lot about Omega’s inability to swim. Sure, Crosshair can’t exactly swim either, but he’s not hindered in his ability to. He has all of his physical faculties. He’s not dead weight. A liability. Meanwhile Omega is a child. While she’s not physically hindered either, she’s little, her lungs are small, her body undeveloped, and until she builds her strength, she’s just as vulnerable in the water as Echo. Echo thinks, if watery circumstances ever developed and they were in a bind, Omega would be the one who’d have to be saved. Not Echo. When it comes down to it, Echo will beg for the others to save Omega, and leave him.

The others have to profusely assure him that’s never gonna happen.

Imagine Being Apart of Crosshair’s Team:

Crosshair had mixed feelings about you, but everyone just assumed it was his usual dislike of everyone. You were different than the rest. You caused memories in his head he didn’t want. He couldn’t say anything because just disliking you wasn’t a viable excuse for a reassignment. Anything that was asked of you, you did. Sure you did it in a way that was unusual, but you did your job so he was stuck with you. He also couldn’t kill you, he didn’t want to, maybe it was because deep down he would miss you.

You had a strong sense of leadership and knew how to read people. The others gravitated more towards you because of this gift. They could tell you anything without having the fear of being reported to Rampart. On missions, you knew what the limits were for everyone’s abilities. This at first bothered Crosshair of course. Were you questioning his decision, his direct orders? However as time went on you ended being right. He would never admit that, but it was taken note of.

You knew when things were wrong with him. Things here and there would poke through his cold demeanor, which you read. Being as observant as you were you would know he was struggling. Knowing when to ask and what tone to use made him feel like he could tolerate it. Then one day after a mission he practically hissed with anger “ Why do you care?! How could you possibly know what is going on with everyone at all times!?” You shrugged “ I can just sense when people are hurting.” He hated that word, he hated that that was how you described this particular trait of yours. You could sense things, just like Hunter would sense when one of them lied as cadets, or was hurt, or when Crosshair was upset.

A particular time that annoyed him was when he caught you talking with another member, ES-03, had a large crack in their helmet and was started stressing about getting a new one issued. You told them to hand over their helmet so you could take a look at it. While cleaning his riffle he would occasionally glance over to what you were doing. The way you would gently run your hands over it, the way you would have different tools sprawled out all over the place, and hearing you explained what you were doing as you were doing it, reminded him of Tech. The worst part was after you took off the goggles you were using to make sure your eyes wouldn’t water from the chemicals, they left rings around your eyes. Ones that were all to similar to Tech’s.

When he walked out of the room to attempt to regain focus and composure he heard ES-03 tease “ So, you act different around the Commander.” You scoffed and rolled your eyes “ No I don’t.” ES-03 then continued “ Maybe, but what do you think about him?” You were quick to answer “ I don’t know, he scares me. He’s a scary dude.” Crosshair didn’t know why that hurt so much coming from you. He liked that the others feared him, it was how he ensured their loyalty. As soon as you vocalized it, it bothered him. From that day he would think about your actions wondering if they were because you were a good solider or if it was because you feared him.

Those thoughts would be quickly pushed out of his head when you would vocalize your outlook on situations. You always found a bright side, even if the mission was a complete failure you found something good about it. He could never grasp how it was possible to see anything but failure, but you always thought otherwise. You would get excited when a new mission would come up. One time while overhearing why you all talk about why you joined the Empire you simply stated “ I was bored and needed something that would keep me out of trouble.” Really? That was your answer? This confirmed that lie that Rampart told to him and Tarkin long ago about getting loyal recruits.

He would be furious at you if you didn’t constantly sound like his brother. You always seemed like a ball of light. Spreading good feelings and emotions even if it was for a little while. This wonder that you had and bright demeanor, Crosshair could almost hear Wreckers voice in your words. He thanked the stars that he was wearing his helmet most of the time. Without it everyone would see the small smile that would paint itself across his lips. They would tell that he favored this side of you.

You were a good solider. You were experienced in fighting, to what extent he was never sure, but it was at least something. Always acknowledging the order and knowing more of the army’s lingo than the others. Perhaps that is why Crosshair grew accustomed to talking with you more. This also made him feel like he could bounce strategies off of you. You two would make up different plans together for hours. It weirded you out at first, you had never heard more than a couple of sentences out of him before. Now it sounds odd when others describe him as quiet.

After a frustrating session you had finally and sarcastically voiced an idea for a take over. After glaring for a moment a realization of its probably of success popped into his mind. This caused him to voice “ That’s not actually a bad idea.” With wide eyes and a smirk you commented “ Commander, did I actually hear a compliment? Or was that my imagination?” He smirked and rolled his eyes warning “ Don’t get too cocky.” You smiled and said “ Me? Of course not.” While he didn’t know his brother Echo as long as the others the sarcastic tone and smile of yours reminded him so much of the newer member.

One thing that he will admit he hates about you is about when you get angry. That’s not a pretty sight for anyone. The others have left the room or area countless times when you two would butt heads. There were times when you were too snarky for your own good. During these disagreements you knew exactly what buttons to push and how to push them. Many times Crosshair would shove you out of anger. You wouldn’t talk to him for days sometimes after harsh fights. He hated this not only because he would secretly miss your company, but because he hated what you made him see. At the end of every fight he saw a reflection of himself in you.

The great mystery of you would plague his mind at night. You were a constant reminder of what he lost, of what was taken from him. Yet you had this ability to make him feel warmth in his heart that was only there when he was with his family. It was a feeling that was hard to describe. It made him battle with himself and with his feelings towards you. When his guard was down, right before he would fall asleep, he would admit to himself that loving you was a beautiful gift and a curse.

Here I go again...

I even knew this was going to happen, but once again, I'm seeing people complaining that the Bad Batch didn't rescue Crosshair again and even going so far as to blame Hunter for it all.

I will refer you first to a post I made on the matter a couple weeks ago after Bad Batch episode 9 here.

Guys, you gotta remember: Crosshair was still right in the middle of an Imperial occupation! He is SURROUNDED. BY. SOLDIERS!!

You CANNOT just snatch a guy that's always surrounded by people who could kill you! Especially when that guy is the one who would give the order to! It's not logical!

The title "Rescue on Ryloth" was for HERA'S PARENTS, not Crosshair. I'm gonna pull a Tech here and say I thought that was obvious after how the previous episode ended 🤦‍♀️

Hunter and the Bad Batch know it will be impossible to get Crosshair, especially when he's still out to kill them, as far as they know! There literally has been no opportunity for them to logically try and rescue him.

And yeah, when they talked about him, they were a little annoyed...wouldn't YOU be if a sibling or a friend was constantly trying to kill you every time you came across them? Yes, Crosshair is under the influence of the chip...still doesn't change the fact he's tried to KILL them and right now, they don't have a way to get that chip out. The probably only working Jedi cruiser on Bracca got destroyed and they sure as hell can't go back to Kamino. There isn't another option right now.

Now, if it's going to go the way I think after the very last shot of the episode, the only way Crosshair is going to get reunited with his brothers is if he goes after them ALONE! After seeing his facial expressions at the end, I'm hoping that Howzer's words got through to him and he's acting under the pretense that he still serves the Empire when he's actually going to secretly go off and join back up with his brothers somehow. That's my hope, but I'm not getting my hopes up because it's not my story to tell. This is why I never have expectations because I don't want to be nitpicky and lose my enjoyment over something I love, like certain fans seem to be right now because of unrealistic expectations.

Believe me when I say I'm with you all in wanting Crosshair back with his brothers and he deserves to be happy, but my gosh, y'all are getting unreasonable now. The Batch didn't even come across Crosshair in the episode, so how were they gonna rescue him if they didn't even know where he was in the area? They didn't even see him until they were already leaving. They couldn't go running around the facility blindly looking for him cuz that's how they would get caught! And then what?

If the show is going the route I'm thinking it might, the only way Crosshair will end up back with the Bad Batch is if he goes to them himself. Otherwise, them saving him at any point is more of a suicide mission than the one they just undertook to save Hera's parents because they would get killed by the other Clones or Crosshair's squad before they could get to him.

Seriously, guys, stop letting your fluffy headcanons and expectations for Crosshair cloud your judgement and actually think about it! It's a little tiring to see people hating on a great show over something that should be pretty obvious why it hasn't happened yet. I love Crosshair, too, but I also realize there hasn't been that opportunity for the Bad Batch to rescue him at all. We ALL need to realize that. I'm probably gonna get hate for all this, but I'm just getting tired of all this irrational hate and disappointment from people.

There's still a few episodes left. There's still a story to be told. Just be patient and, for heaven's sake, be rational.

Omega

She was introduced to ABBA by wrecker ( i know hunter wanted to, but wrecker beat him to it)

So those are my headcanons about the bad batch and ABBA, and they’re just a little cursed, but mostly wholesome. Idk the idea of the bad batch listening to music and actually enjoying it is the purest thing and i had so much fun writing this

Top 10 Clones I Want To Give a Flower Crown To For No Other Reason Than Because I Want To and Its What They Deserve:

**I’m bored and this seemed fun. If I could draw, I would draw this, but I can’t so instead y’all are just getting a list ( for now - when I learn to draw its all over for y’all). This is purely for fun because I like flower crowns and I like giving them to people. All clones deserve flower crowns, but unfortunately I can’t sit here and list all of them. (actually I could but i have a very short attention span, the fact I made it through 10 is a miracle. I may make another list if I feel up to it)**

1. Wolffe

I won’t lie I’m kinda biased because Wolffe is my favourite, but of course Imma give him one. He’d probably hate it. But I would still give one to him to wear. He’d put it on with an eye roll and probably a complaint. No one is allowed to take pictures unfortunately (the wolfpack still manages to get a picture of the occasion anyway and tease their brother about it). 

2. Rex 

Our king needs a crown and I would happily give him one. He’d wear it because he’s nice like that, but I imagine he’d either be really shy or super confident in it. There is no in between. Just depends on situation and his mood I think. Ahsoka insists on having her own as well and taking a picture with Rex (Anakin also ends up dragged into it somehow) 

3. Crosshair 

Listen I dunno. We all know he’d hate it. It’s just that the thought of putting him in a flower crown makes me laugh. Definitely would hate it and would cruse me out for taking a picture of him with it. He probably throws it in the trash right after lol (Wrecker makes him put on another one take a picture with him and lula in them). 

4. Fives 

THIS MAN WOULD LOVE IT. Gets to the point where Rex literally has to force him to take it off because otherwise he would never stop wearing one. He’d go out to battle with a flower crown if he could and he always wears one to 79′s now. He would go around and take pictures with all his brothers in matching flower crowns.

5. Cody 

Listen this man would rock a sunflower flower crown and would look very good in it. I think he’d act like he doesn’t like it, but secretly he thinks its nice and wouldn’t mind wearing it too much as long as no one said anything to him about it. Wouldn’t really want to take a picture, though he might if some of his brothers wanted to take one with them all together in flower crowns. 

6. Keeli

Honestly I just think he’d look good in one. Have you seen him??? He would definitely look amazing in a flower crown. Probably wouldn’t mind wearing it just for one picture. Other than that I don’t think he’d care for it either way (will admit he looks great in one thou).  

7. Echo

I imagine Fives may convince him to take one and wear it as well. He probably wouldn’t really want to and would quote some regulations that it goes against. In the end he’d wear a flower crown for a moment so Fives could get a picture with him. Probably never again tho unless he gets dragged into it by one of his brothers. 

Later on omega would want him to wear one with her and he would because it reminds him of fives. 

8. Tup

Honestly with his hair it would look so nice. Tup def rocks the crown and fives takes pictures of them both with them. Honestly I think Tup just wearing flowers in general would be cute and nice. He wears one to 79′s ever so often when he feels like it. 

9. Howzer 

Kind of the same thing with Keeli. I just think he would look good with a flower crown and want to give him one. He’d probably enjoy it I think, and would probably have some fun with it too. 

10. Toast Clone

We get so little screen time of our darling toast clone, but I still want to spoil him with a flower crown. That’s all. Let toast eat his toast while wearing a cute flower crown pls.

It would be hilarious. Specially with the Bad Batch.

Like Echo, Tech and Dogma would be super serious gamers. Always the first to sit on the table and strictly following the rules. Tech would rely on calculation and previous games with his oponent. While Dogma and Echo rely more on their instincts and experience of the game.

Fives, Hunter, Boost and Boil would be definitly the cheaters. Fives persuadates Tup to give him the coordinates, using secret handsigns. Hunter would use his sense to find out where the ships are positioned. Boil would straight out pay his opponent to let him win. And Boost would have his aces under the sleeve, maybe a fortunatly placed mirror in the room.

Hardcase and Wrecker would try to play, but soon realize it's not their game. Both are way to inpatient and it isn't fun if you constantly loose because of it. Soon enough they find another way to entertain themselves while the others are playing. Bets. Nothing too crazy, but enough to ad a little spice to every match.

Rex, Wolffe, Longshot and Crosshair would probably abstain themselves from playing, as long as no one challenges them. Then it's suddenly serious business and their very competitive.

Tup, Waxer, Comet and Oddball don't like playing, because, let's be honest, they are sweethearts, who hate see others loose, nevertheless they enjoy watching their vod having fun (or help them out cheating ;-)). Sometimes playing the narrators, if the game is particularly intense or just looking if everyone around has something to drink.

Cody, Jesse, Sinker and Kix would be part time players, if they are in the mood and not too tired, they will play, but they aren't as eager as some others of their vod, which makes them great losers.

Coming to the interesting part, about losers and winners.

Tech:

Losing: He would be confused. Why didn't his calculations work? Then he would realize that he lost due cheating and he would be complaining the whole time, how it can't be a win if it was CHEATING.

Winning: He would be happy but wouldn't say much about it, just silently analyze what his opponent did, how the ships where positions and how he could win faster.

Echo:

Losing: He would murder Fives for cheating. No questions asked. There is no way FIVES would win against him. Conclusion. He is a bad loser.

Winning: Like Tech he would be quite, because he already has a good reputation in this game, why brag about it? The inner satisfaction and defiance of his opponent is enough for him.

Dogma:

Losing: Oh boy, if he loses he would be mad, but he wouldn't say anything, just be really quite around his opponent or even ignoring him for the next days. Oh and if he finds out they cheated prepare to hear him recite the rules, he memorized since the first time they played, for the next whole week.

Winning: Come on it's Dogma. His superior i-told-you-i-would-win-look will follow his opponent the rest of the week, with 'subtly' verbal reminders of how he won.

Fives:

Losing: He would brush it of with his ego, but innerly he would be really frustrated, probably even mad at Tup for not putting enough effort or at whoever he lost to for being an ass.

Winning: He is a loud winner, bragging about it the whole time, giving no one a break about his superiority in this game. Secretly he would thank Tup for helping him out and invite him a drink. Beware if he won without cheating. Then he is 10x more annoying.

Hunter:

Losing: He would murmur some curses under his breath, to then proceed to sit in a corner to star his opponent down. Swearing to destroy his opponent the next time he plays against him.

Winning: Following the example of Tech and Echo, he would stand up shake hands with his opponent and silently sit somewhere to emanate his superiority through his sole posture and gaze. (And actually no one has come to the idea that he cheats every once in a while.)

Boost:

Losing: Like Hunter, Boost would be silent. With Hunter it's nothing new since he is a quiet personality, but with Boost? It would be just creepy. Meanwhile he would be swallowing his pride, trying not to lash out on every person who talks to him.

Winning: Boost will never let his vod ever forget how he won against them. NEVER. The first week would be always the worst. He would remind his opponent every step he takes of how he is so much better playing then him.

Boil:

Losing: Boil would be actually a good loser, only annoying his opponent to give him his credits back if he decided to cheat, otherwise he would wish them good luck for their next game.

Winning: Boil would, much like Fives, be a loud winner, cheering and teasing his opponent, specially if he played a honest game, maybe even get a little drunk in honor of his win.

Rex:

Losing: Rex would be a proud loser, because he really believes that the better player wins and it makes him happy seeing his little brothers win. Everyone thinks he doesn´t know about some of them cheating, but he actually DOES (It´s Rex, nothing can get under his radar), yet it doesn´t bother him since cheating needs a little talent too.

Winning: Rex wouldn´t show off after winning, nevertheless he has a book full of tally marks counting his wins. He also would console his opponent with some honest words.

Wolffe:

Losing: My boy, I think he would be a bad looser, since he has a pretty abitious personality. He would request a rematch till he wins (it doesn´t matter if he sits there til 3am) and then fall back and enjoy the evening.

Winning: Wolffe would not brag about his win, but he would totally use it in a argument to establish dominance. Nontheless he would invite his opponent to a drink, if he sees that they didn´t take their defeat well.

Longshot:

Losing: He would be quite easy with a loss, but he would definitely, compete with his opponent in other things, that have like nothing to do with the game, just to make sure that he still is the better one.

Winning: Would be a quietly loud winner, following the example of Boost, just remembering his opponent that he won against him and that his strategy is so much superior than his.

Crosshair:

Losing: If Crosshair looses, the game suddendly looses it´s value too it´s-just-a-stupid-game-i´m-better-than-that. Deep inside him he does care, so the next time they play he makes sure to win against his opponent.

Winning: If he isn´t seeking out revenge for an earlier lost game, Crosshair usually disappears fast from the scene, to avoid getting challenged into another match he might loose.

Cody:

Losing: Cody has almost the same mentality as Rex. The best player wins. That's it. And if the one cheated, well he needs to life with the guilt then.

Winning: On an emotional level, Cody loves winning. He often finds himself frustrated over battle plans and sheer impossible missions, a little satisfaction once in awhile, because he won a stupid game against one of his vod is the perfect cure.

Jesse:

Losing: Jesse is a good looser, mostly because his brothers don't dare to tease him if he does. They are pretty respectful and wish him good luck for the next match, otherwise it would end up with Jesse flipping the board and attempted commit of murder.

Winning: Jesse is a rare winner. He can get loud if he is drunk or if he won against one of his closer brothers and he can be silent if he won against someone he doesn't know that much or someone he respects a lot.

Sinker:

Losing: He takes his loss with humour, any stupid comment his vod has, Sinker has the perfect sassy comeback on standby. It's just a game right?

Winning: Sinker is the only one who really, really doesn't not care an inch about winning. It's just some good strategy and a bit of luck.

What Sinker actually likes from the game is that he gets to do something fun with his vod, outside of their cruel war reality.

Kix

Losing: As I said, Kix is not an ambitious player, which makes him a good loser, what he doesn't like is the teasing comments of his vod, the win itself is not important, but what his brothers have to say about him definitely is.

Winning: Even though he isn't fond of the game, he does like winning and gathering attention of his brother by it. Kix really enjoys it, without being an arrogant ass.

I hope i didn't forget any and that I got them right. I just realized how many there are and how little we know (I just realized that I know almost nothing about the 212th), but I covered a lot of them.

And yes I love playing battle ship, since i was a kid, it was basically our game in primary school, apart from Star Wars quartet, which was awesome too. (And yes we played till high school, same people, same games)
