I made lil sprite edits of the gem mermaids, mostly just for character design practice-

I leaned heavily on what parts of the ocean they'd likely been based on. Crimson's likely the community and protector of her pod/kingdom, so I wanted her to be more armored up and battle damaged with a subtle shark aethstetic. {i'm sorry I didn't touch her sea horse, just assume they look they exact same}

Aquamarine strikes me as the more emotionally available one that cares for the pod in a more intimate way compared to Crimson. Say tending to young when parents are busy collecting food, hearing the community out and taking it to her sisters for assistance and just being an extra set of hands. Citrine is the one who is typically in charge of construction and just general aethstetic of their homes, but who's true passion is planning celebrations. just generally likes to keep moral and spirits high for the pod. Opal seems like someone based deeply in the deep zones of the ocean, so I just leaned more heavily into that. using the rainbow colors of opals as an excuse to snag the rainbow bioluminescence of a lot of marine life down there. And she's relied on for predictions of the sea and general worship of the mighty sea and the tear.

And darling little Pearl. I gave her more blues and darker colors, specifically the black with sparkles on her "skirt" to better fit with her whole moon theming.

PONY TOWN - Bright Turquoise Cookie

A shy-spoken youngest gem mermaid, who was emerged after the events of A Mermaid’s Tale

With the little gem mermaid hatched at an unfortunate time, they were found and raised by one of the locals from WanderCrab, the living deep sea city where Abyss Monarch and Electric Eel live

Despite being the only mermaid and a sore-thumb in the city, the folks treated the young mermaid equally regardless

At some point, they left WanderCrab to discover their origins and their sisters, after Tearcrown was destroyed by Black Pearl

They may be shy, but they are humble and filled with integrity. They are good at keeping promises

You may not just go around saying "I love you" willy nilly and making your poor girlfriends cry there heart out to you

Nah just because of what you did you have no choice but to stay in the castle and cuddle with your girlfriends

They all each take turns in cuddling with you and hugging the living sea life out of you

Crimson Coral Cookie is Big Spoon, You will sit on her tail while your back is against her chest and her arms around your waist and her face on your head

Next Aquamarine Cookie will use you as a bed cushion and just lay flat on top of you and nuzzle into you for her turn

While Gold Citrine Cookie does the Opposite and let you lay on top of her and cuddle that way with your head on her chest listening to her fast racing heartbeat

Frilled Jellyfish Cookie is the Small spoon and just hug your arm during her turn and just never let go...

Mystic Opal Cookie is not used to physical affection but after what you said just pushed her into hugging you sideways...where you guys lay on her clamshell bed and she hugs you from behind at times she would hum a melody for you to sleep so you two could cuddle more

And lastly White Pearl Cookie you don't have to ask her twice for hugging because she always hugs you 24/7 to the point she has this "Tackle Hug" in her system which she always does everyday everytime she sees you so there's no surprise that she will hug you tightly after those 3 words you said

Now as for there kissing they all do it with no hesitation and just pepper you with them on your face so if you go outside now and one of the guards ask you to why you have so many different colored kiss marks you just replied the words "Sisters and Jellyfish"
