Love and Deepspace 2.0 Live Overview

Okay so the live ended about 20 minutes ago and I watched (and recorded) the entire thing! We have confirmation that this will be released on July 15...so we have a little over a week! So here's the biggest highlights of the live...however first the new codes!

Portrait Mode

We're getting a new photo mode over in the Photobooth! Portrait Mode will be featuring:

Ability to move the camera around out characters. We can finally have more angles and full body shots.

We can move the posed characters around the screen so they're not right next to one another. This means we get to make cute little scenes guys and I am so hyped over this one.

Dynamic lighting and clothes! Not only can we choose were the light source in the photo is as well as the tones of it, we also have clothes that move with the wind directions that we can choose from!

More backgrounds, and from the looks of it the backgrounds will also be dynamic and move!

Premade photo templates will be available in case you're not super creative or good with photo booth modes, and we can also make our own templates to use later.

Abyssal Chaos

We're going to be getting an entirely new mode over in the "battle" section and oh boy does this one look super interesting (and a little complex to explain for me). This is word for word how the kitties explained the premises of it:

"The Abyssal Chaos is a site hidden in the corners of the internet, it focuses on selling information and commissioning bounties. It's the most secretive and anonymous trading platform on the dark web right now!"

Selectable Companions - So unlike the other battle modes where we pick and choose from several of our cards, we choose one of the companions we have available to go through the battles with. Memories in the Abyssal Chaos will use virtual data so the companions will be Level 80. You'll also only be able to choose one companions per period to team up with, as well as the weapon for these trials.

Wontony - The Admin AI the Abyssal Chaos features that gives us these commissions. It'll show us the algorithms and maps to complete the commission.

Gameplay - This mode seems to have more than just combat in it. There will be a series of events and obstacles for the hunters to go through with their companions. From the looks of it there are mazes and memory games, but who knows what else we're going to be getting. These will most likely just work as mini games, in the preview it shows Zayne in a box after getting trapped and our hunter having to run to little boxes on the ground in a certain order for a memory game to free him.

Randomly Generated Nodes - Ya, you saw right...it's going to have randomly generated settings so we're going to be going through different things every single time we play (hopefully). Even the maps are randomly generated it seems. There's also three nodes (similar to branches that we're used to seeing in choice based games) that leads to different outcomes. It's a rougelike gameplay mode where after you make a decision you can't go back during that run, you live with the choices and consequences.

Node Refresh - When you complete the current node according to the map, the system will randomly refresh a few branching nodes and give you new options. They also correspond to different follow up missions. The situation will be different for every option you make. Which means who freaking knows what's going to happen during your playthrough.

Chats with Characters - From what you can see in the video itself, it looks like during these missions you'll have little pop up chat windows where our companions will be speaking with us. If we're lucky it might give us some lore, but most likely it'll just be random conversations about the Abyssal Chaos and possibly their suggestions on how to go about it?

Deduction - I'm not entirely sure about this one but I think the "deduction" is the space in between the battles were you chat with characters, get enhancement items, and choose which node to go to next.

Mission Rewards (Codes) - After completing a mission we'll be getting 'codes' which are basically just item enhancements that (from the looks of it) we get to keep. Looks like they're separated in categories as well: HP, Dodge, Summon, Shield, Negative, Combo, Charged, Active. There's also exclusive ones for your companions as well. There's a total of 9 types of codes right now. If it's all confusing then thankfully Wontony will be willing to tell you which codes he'd recommend you use.

Enhance Codes - As you work your way through this mode you'll be getting Enhance Codes and Special Items in order to enhance the power of your team. Since the characters will default to Level 80 these will be important since it's set levels. Aka it's all catered towards based 80 characters so we need these items if we want to stand a chance getting through these. Of course they're randomly given though so they can either be useless or super helpful. From what they're implying these items are only good for that round in the Abyss Chaos and the next playthrough you do you'll be starting from scratch, giving the mode more playability!

Combo Codes - It looks like by mixing and matching the codes you put on your companions you can unlock even more combos and just overall cool combat specials with your companions! We're going to be getting a major boost in power if we're allowed to move these codes over to Deepspace Trials, however from what I saw it's not 100% confirmed if we will be able to, or if codes are exclusive for Abyssal Chaos' Battle Mode.

Chaos Keys - This is like currency during the mode were you can buy or enhance your codes to help progress through the current deduction you're going through.

Factors - After each deduction you'll be getting things known as factors. There's general factors and companion factors. General Factors will increase the power of your team, while Companion Factors will strengthen just your companion's ability to fight in the Abyssal Chaos.

Reward Exchange - After completing deductions we'll earn points which can be exchanged for a lot of diamonds. Which means we might have another method of farming for diamonds before events, which is a very good thing judging by how the banners are increasing how many pulls you need to do in order to get a guarantee of the card you want (our last event was a whopping 200 Pulls for a reward box).

Sylus Available - Looks like from the start we'll also be able to use Sylus as a companion. He appeared in the exclusive category of the code section.

Sylus + Game Updates

As we all know, Sylus was revealed earlier in June, and went against the wishes of the team for Love and Deepspace. At the end of their livestream they went into detail about the regrets they had since today's livestream was supposed to be his introduction, and how such a reveal was stolen from us as an audience from people leaking information. However I personally think that in today's livestream they will did an amazing job in showcasing Sylus. They gave him a video and song to go with it, and it was honestly amazing. Not to mention we heard his voice for the first time (okay I know there were leaks on that too but still)

Sylus has still been officially revealed to us! After the update on July 15'th he's going to be unlocked as a roman cable candidate which means all the normal interactions will be available! Which means we get to have Sylus get us plushies and poke in Destiny Cafe! From what we're seeing he's not a totally evil guy (one of the livestream kitties mentioned seeing him on a roof and was picked up by his scruff. Sylus jumped off the building then gently places him on the ground. What a sweetie).

Now with Sylus' release here's what we have Story Wise:

New Story Chapter - Long Awaited Revelry will be unlocked soon

Main Story Branches - From September to December we'll be having main story branches for our love interests! Looks like those who said we'd have branching storylines for the boys were correct. So strap in and see how MC is gonna be when actually romancing these men in each of their branches (damn can't have a polyamorous relationship with all these boys RIP). Hopefully this will make the cards and memories easier to understand because main story MC barely knows these men, but all of us are seeing memories of MC tossing them on beds and tables. So we finally get to see how we got to that point.

Free Cards - After the update there will obviously be an event. In that we will be getting a 5-Star Memory of Sylus, as well as a 4-Star memory...for free. During the event we'll also be able to get about 20 Empyrean Wish Tickets, so if you pair that up with the free code, we're getting about 30 free wish tickets to help us collect cards on Sylus! There will also be a log in event for another 4-Star memory of Sylus so make sure you log in for those 10 days.

New Outfits: Do you guys recall those cards that we all looked at like "Where tf are these outfits?" You know, the one where Zayne is staring sexily on a chair, or Rafayel in that suit with like petals around him? Those outfits? Ya we get those during the events...for free!

5-Star Memory Event for Rafayel - We'll be getting a new 5-Star Card for Rafayel at the end of July, Heartfelt Gift, will be available as well as apparently another free 5-Star card for Raffie (or maybe the Heartfelt Gift Card is the free, their wording in the stream was a bit confusing). During the event we get a 10 pulls, 2,000 diamonds, and tons of materials for free.

Wish Update: We're getting an update on the normal wishes. We'll be able to choose 3 of the 5-Star cards in the wish pool to get a rate up boost for them (so we can finally start getting 5-star memories we don't have easier). You can also change the three cards at any time you wish.

Illusio: A new feature called Illusio will be available for kindled memories for a limited time (July 15th - July 31st). You can select different outfits for the characters the click the kindled version of a 5-star memory to see them in that particular outfit (and I am expecting all you guys who have the towel outfits to record ever kindled memory with them wearing it. I ain't playin frfr).

There will also of course be new events popping up in the series, one of them being over in August that's being called "Embroidered Silk Ball". So we have so much content coming our way with the 2.0 version!

James Gunn Shuts Down Fake AI Superman Trailer with Perfect Comeback

Hollywood and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) have been and continue to be at the forefront of public debates lately, especially with a lot of filmmakers opposing it. Most of their fears are backed by the fact that AI tools mostly give 'derivative' content most of the time and are based on stolen works. James Gunn, co-CEO for DC Studios, is one of the most notable critics of AI in the industry. He condemned the unleashing of a false AI-generate preview to a long-awaited Superman movie. The trailer, misrepresented as an official teaser and that aired in a news feature on France's state channel France 2, was part of the latter's program on Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, but ended unexpectedly with what was described as a preview for James Gunn's film about Superman. This soon created a buzz online, where many viewers were quick to find out that it was merely a poorly generated AI fake. The online community did not waste time ridiculing the fraudulent trailer, pointing out its flaws. That was a very easy manner of speaking out, but it said all there was in words about the frustration he bore regarding the use of AI in such deceptive ways. In a comment on the subsequent post, the producer of the false trailer made his wish that James Gunn never came across it. In a perfectly witty reply, Gunn tossed back the words, "I wish this as well." His scathing repartee especially pushed the point further by bringing to the fore of his disdain for the subterfuge and, by association, the blurring between reality and AI of such false portrayals . James Gunn's Reluctance to Tolerate AI in Entertainment Yet, to be sure, this is not the first time that Gunn has publicly had a word to say about his potential use of AI in creative fields. Already in March, he responded to yet another AI-generated picture claiming to feature David Corenswet as the new actor cast as Superman in his costume. The picture had been spread all over the internet and had claimed to present an exclusive first look at the actor in the role. Gunn, never one to pass on an opportunity to seize sarcasm, commented on the inaccuracies that abound in the image, playfully poking and prodding how it is obviously just from AI. A funny yet bitter review, you could say that clarifies his take against AI being used for this purpose. However, Gunn's objections run further than aesthetics or the accuracy of AI-generate content. His scathing critique further takes up the general sense that seems to remain the quiet cry of too many creators in cinema and television: AI poses a danger to real creativity. Many of these tools rely heavily on preexisting works, and as a collective, they fear this constitutes using their intellectual properties. By drawing content from already well-established arts, AI systems are able to deliver that which could technically be called original but, in reality, consists of nothing but a total lack of actual creativity and often is soulless. Further than the quality of the film and its images, this debate has gone beyond films and images. Perhaps the aspect of AI's effect on screenwriting, acting, and other productions has been the most contentious, hotly debated among film participants. Many filmmakers, actors, and writers fear that one day AI can take a human job away from humans, reducing the difference that makes great stories so unique and distinct. Gunn's public declaration against AI marks a growing concern that such emerging technologies may mean sweeping away what makes the entertainment industry so authentic. A Larger Creative Opposition James Gunn is one among many artists in Hollywood and beyond who find AI technology repulsive, but there exists a much larger resistance. Many artists, writers, directors, and everyone else abhors AI for mainly due to two reasons: it tends to draw significantly from existing art, and it cannot truly reproduce the human expression for its lack of human imagination in the best sense. AI only imitates but cannot innovate, thus unsuitable to replace human creativity. It is worthy of commendation that the filmmaker works hard to safeguard creative integrity, and it does do well with those who believe that technology should supplement the human element that goes into art rather than trying to replace it. Given its constant evolution and expanding capabilities, further discussion about AI in creative industries will continue most likely. But for now, filmmakers like James Gunn are fighting back to the right stands in terms of making sure that whatever film they will produce will be crafted from human imagination and not from machine learning. While Insta360 continues to dominate any list of "best 360 cameras", it realized long ago that interest in 360-degree video was waning and came up with a compelling use-case for it instead: reframing a shot. That magical ability, combined industry-leading stabilization, and smart software make the latest Insta360 camera both truly unique and ludicrously good fun.

Insta360 One X2 Design

Almost identical to its predecessor, the One X2 has a distinctive oblong shape with two protruding fish-eye lenses. The images from these stitched together seamlessly on-camera, without requiring additional processing, into a 5.7K 30FPS video. The whole package is about as thick as two smartphones stacked together but slimmer—easily pocket-sized.

A small round touch-screen sits on one side, giving a preview of the video and allowing easy navigation of the options. This is a marked improvement on the monochrome LCD of the original OneX, and it's easily visible on a bright day. Admittedly, a video preview is of questionable utility in a 360-camera, given that you're literally recording everything most of the time, but it's useful in some of the other video modes.

Other than the touchscreen, there are two buttons for operation. A power button sits on one side, with which a long press will power on or off the device. Another button sits underneath the touchscreen, and this can be used to quickly begin recording in a single press. Within a second or two, the camera will wake from a complete power off, begin recording in the standard mode, then power down again with another quick press. It's particularly convenient if you need to capture the moment quickly.

On the other side, you'll find two latching covers. One protects the USB-C port, while the other is a removable battery. The battery lasts for around 80 minutes of continuous shooting, and should it need replacing or you want spares, they can be purchased readily for around $40. In my experience, 80 minutes is enough to get you through a day of occasional use without requiring a supplemental charge.

With the battery is removed, you can also insert a microSD storage card.

The ports and internals are fully sealed when these latches are correctly closed (if you see any orange, they haven't been locked correctly). This results in an IPX8 waterproof rating to 10 meters without any additional hardware.

However, the lenses are still vulnerable to scratches, so don't mistake the waterproof rating for overall ruggedness. I'd recommend grabbing some of the lens protectors if you're playing on using this for action shots.

On the audio side, the One X2 features not one but four microphones, which means it should pick on the subject regardless of where they're standing. It's certainly an improvement, but you'll want to grab the external input adaptor for the best quality audio.

So, The Insta360 One X2 Doesn't Shoot 360-Degree Video?!

Technically, the One X2 shoots in 360-degrees at 5.7K resolution, using the two super-wide angle lenses. If you really wanted to use the raw footage as is, for viewing on a VR capable headset or other 360 application, you could. You can even stream to Facebook in 360. It's certainly good 360-degree footage if you're into that sort of thing.

But that would be ignoring the real Insta360 magic: shoot now, point later. The innovative Insta360 editing apps (for smartphones or desktops) allow you to reframe your shots, stabilize them, change the field of view, deep track a subject, and even use AI to locate and frame interesting parts of the footage automatically.

The final output isn't 360-degrees at all. It's a slick action cam shot or a seemingly impossible floating drone shot. It's like having your own camera crew in your pocket. In reality, all you did was hold the Insta360 OneX2 out on the (invisible) selfie stick and hit record.

One of the great selling points of the original One X was the ability to easily stream the raw 360-degree footage directly to several video sites, including Facebook, YouTube, and anywhere that supports RTSP.

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, this feature is only supported on the One X2 via a wireless connection from your smartphone to the camera, rather than the cabled option of the One X. Though otherwise identical in functionality, the move to wireless means that you're now restricted to using the data plan of your smartphone, rather than the typically faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connection you may have at home. For me, this renders it unusable. I'm lucky to get a good 3G signal, let alone 4G or 5G, so my upload speed results in about one frame every three seconds.

It's not clear why this isn't possible yet, given it has a USB-C port. I reached out to Insta360 support, who said the engineers were still working on the right cable (presumably for iOS), but even using USB-C to USB-C on Android should, in theory, be possible. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon with a software update, but still, this is a downgrade given that the One X shipped with this feature from the start (and the requisite cable included in the box).

Video Quality

Results on the One X2 will vary, but as with any camera with a small sensor, low-light performance is significantly noisier than that shot in the daytime.

However, it's worth noting that you can get some good low-light photos thanks to the PureShot mode, enhancing colors and reducing noise in low-light photography without requiring bracketing.

The One X2 also includes a built-in low-light TimeLapse mode, called StarLapse. It's incredible, and I wish I had a good demo video to show you, but it hasn't stopped raining here in weeks.

Should You Upgrade from the One X2 or One R?

If you already own the original One X or the dual-lens mod with the One R, there's no single hugely compelling reason to upgrade. The technical specifications and quality of footage haven't changed: it still shoots a maximum of 5.7K at 30FPS. However, it benefits from the new Vivid color profile, which isn't present on the One X, and a higher bitrate. But those that were hoping for a bump to 8K, or even 5.7K 60FPS, will be disappointed.

While the circular touchscreen is nice, it alone isn't worth upgrading for. Twenty minutes extra battery life is also nice, but not a huge change. The only really compelling hardware upgrade is the IPX8 waterproofing out of the box, with no additional dive case needed.

So if you don't plan on filming underwater, and you're otherwise happy with the battery performance you get from the One R or One X, you can probably skip this generation. It's an iterative refresh rather than a revolution.

What's The Difference with the One R?

The Insta360 One R is also a favorite of ours, with a modular design that means you can swap out the 4K action camera lens for a dual-lens 360 mod.

From a software perspective, nearly all the features while shooting with the 360-mod are identical that the One X2: same app, same Shot Lab, same editing process. The video quality is also similar, though the One X2 benefits from a Vivid color mode that is otherwise only available when uses the 4K mod on the One R. The lenses are slightly further apart on the One R 360-mod, so stitching errors are more frequent, but not hugely so.

From a hardware perspective, the One R is a little more awkward to use as it needs to be put inside a special case before it can be mounted to the invisible selfie stick. The One X2 has better audio with four microphones, though both cameras can benefit from external microphones with an adaptor.

Faced with a choice of whether to buy the One R or One X2, I'd say it comes down to two factors:

How experienced are you with standard action cams? If you're familiar with how to mount an action camera, angle it correctly, and want to experiment with the 360-mod, then the One R might be better for you.

How likely are you to use this as your main camera? At some point, you might want to upgrade the lens: the 1-inch mod for the One R ups the resolution to 5.3K (the highest resolution action cam on the market), and the 1-inch sensor gives much improved low-light performance.

Should You Buy The Insta360 One X2?

If you don't already own an Insta360 camera, it's definitely a worthwhile purchase. The One X2 packs in so many innovative features that it's impossible to cover them all in this review. It's wonderful to discover these features for yourself, and the Insta360 One X2 is constantly evolving. 7 free Android apps for creatives

As Android-using creatives, it can often feel like you’re the poor cousins of your Apple fanboy counterparts. 

But in the last 12 months a ton of new releases have come to Android phones and tablets, and the balance is at least beginning to tip back in your favour.

In this post, we round up some of the best new and newly updated Android apps for creatives. Are there any we should add to the list? Let us know!

01. Photoshop Sketch

Create digital artwork on the move using free app Photoshop Sketch

We’re not sure why Adobe called this app Photoshop Sketch, because it doesn’t really have much to do with Photoshop’s main function as a photo editor. But that aside, it’s a great free app for any digital artist who wants to do some work on the move.

Version 1.0 of Photoshop Sketch for Android lets you draw with digital versions of pencils, pens, markers, erasers, thick acrylic, ink brush, soft pastel and watercolour paint brushes. The app includes 11 tools that can adjust size, colour, opacity and blending settings.

Once you’re done, the artwork you’ve created can then be sent as layered files to either Photoshop CC or Illustrator CC for further tweaks. 

02. Cardboard Camera

Get a taste of VR with Google’s Cardboard Camera

From agencies to app developers, everyone’s jumping on the VR bandwagon right now. And here’s a free app from Google to help you dip your toe in the water and see what all the fuss is about.

Cardboard Camera enables you to capture and share what Google calls ‘VR photos’. These are essentially 360-degree panoramic photos, with sound. You can view them in a compatible viewer such as Google Cardboard, as long as you have a compatible phone.

When you do so, your photo looks sort-of three-dimensional (a slightly different image is sent to your right and left eye, giving the illusion of depth), and you’re able to scan the whole 360-degree scene by turning around accordingly. The app also makes it easy to share your VR photo with friends and colleagues. 

03. Photoshop Fix

Image editing app Photoshop Fix has recently made it to Android

After a year of only existing on iOS, Adobe’s mobile photo editing app Photoshop Fix was finally released for users of Android smartphones and tablets this November. 

It’s far from the full desktop version of Photoshop, of course. But this free app is packed with tools that enable you to heal, smooth, liquify, lighten, darken, and paint your images, as well as adjusting colour, adding vignettes, tweaking exposure and saturation, and more. 

Moreover, once you’re done, you can send your images directly to Photoshop CC on the desktop so you can refine them further. All your edits are converted within the app to layers, and Photoshop Fix then packages your image up as a PSD file.

04. Prisma

Prisma makes clever use of AI to redraw your photos as art

There are tons of Android apps on the market that transform your photos into artwork. But Prisma’s the one that really blew up around the world last year. 

Made available for Android users in July, the app uses artificial intelligence to redraw your photos in the styles of famous artists. 

They really do look like they’ve been painted by a human rather than a machine, and as such can serve as a great source of visual inspiration for your projects.

05. Capture CC

Create colour palettes based on photos, and more, with Capture CC

Adobe Capture CC is a free app that lets you extract colour palettes from photos you’ve taken and use these in other Adobe tools including After Effects CC, Dreamweaver, Animate CC, Illustrator CC, Illustrator Draw, InDesign CC, Muse and Photoshop CC. 

You can use these colours to create such things as ribbon-, scatter- or vector-type brushes or video-enhancing filters. And that’s not all: Capture CC can also generate vector graphics from drawings you’ve created in Illustrator. Plus everything syncs up nicely, so the assets you create are immediately accessible in other Adobe tools. 

Capture CC has been around a while, launching on Android in late 2015, but it only appeared on Android tablets in January 2017, hence its inclusion in our list. 

06. Lightroom 2.2

Lightroom 2.2 makes it easier than ever to import RAW imagery

Launched in February last year, Lightroom on Android 2.0 was much more than a simple update. Instead, Adobe trumpeted it as the first end-to-end RAW mobile photography solution. In short, it combined the ability to capture and share RAW/DNG files directly on on your phone with photo editing software to perfect it. 

Now, since November, version 2.2 of this free app has upped the ante once more. This latest update adds additional functionality that allows you to import RAW photos directly from your camera. 

A new “Raw Technology Preview” feature lets you transfer RAW photos by connecting your Android device with your camera using a USB On-The-Go adapter (aka OTG cable) via PTP transfer mode (found in the Android Notification Center). 07. Adobe XD 1.2

A free app lets you preview the designs you create in Adobe XD right on your Android device

Adobe made big splash last year with the release of its Sketch rival, the prototyping app Experience Design (aka XD). 

But while this software is mainly intended for use on the desktop, a related app helps you to eliminate guesswork by previewing your Adobe XD designs, complete with transitions, on Android devices. This is done in real time via USB (macOS only) or by loading them from Creative Cloud files.

The latest version of the app, version 1.2, allows you to view XD documents when offline, browse document artboards, share your current screen as an image, and enable or disable hotspot hints.

Ethics of Using AI and Big Data in Agriculture: The Case of a Large Agriculture Multinational

Smart information systems (Big Data and artificial intelligence) are used in the agricultural industry to help the planting, seeding, and harvesting of crops, as well as farm management, plant and livestock illness and disease detection. I looked at how a Digital Division at a large agricultural multinational is using smart information systems (SIS), through their SISproject, to provide farmers with local weather predictions, farm efficiency and sustainability metrics, and early detection systems for weed, pests and disease. SIS being used in agriculture, types of data retrieved from the farm, how this data is analysed, and agribusinesses involved in this burgeoning field. Agricultural SIS has the potential to automate activities that are typically done by agronomists, allowing for cost reductions, quick and effective crop forecasting, and improved decision-making and efficiency for the farmer. Agricultural SIS also offers agribusinesses an additional revenue, better customer-relations, and reduced costs from hiring additional agronomists and advisors. The world’s population will exceed 9 billion by 2050, forcing the agricultural sector to increase its production levels by up to 70%. SIS are being hailed as one possible solution to help plant, seed, harvest, and manage farms better and more effectively. However, the use of agricultural SIS may create a number of ethical concerns. For example, the accuracy of data and recommendations provided by SIS may lead to lost harvests, ill livestock, and loss of earnings. There is also a tension between ensuring an agribusinesses’ intellectual property and the protection of the farmer’s data ownership. The use of SIS is relatively expensive, which may create a digital divide. Agricultural Big Data is also vulnerable to privacy and security threats because it could be used nefariously by corrupt governments, competitors, or even market traders. Sensors, robots and devices may cause harm, distress, and damage to animal welfare and the environment.To assess if these ethical issues mirror those experienced in the field, I interviewed three members of this company working on their SIS project. This project combines data retrieved from the farmer with the company’s agronomic knowledge to manage their farm more effectively. The project was designed to provide farmers with local weather predictions, plant disease in situ detection, and recommendation tools to minimise risk, crop and yield previews, farm efficiency and sustainability metrics, and early detection systems for weed, pests and disease. One of the primary motivations for using SIS technology for the company is the ability to make the farmer’s life easier, more productive, and to save costs. The aim is to improve farm management, not by increasing fertilizer use, but by more intelligent farming decisions and practices.

The ethical issues faced in the project strongly correlated with those in the literature, with the addition of employment. The general public is concerned that SIS will replace human jobs, such as the agronomist, but the team stated that their SIS is intended to complement the human expert, rather than replace them. Accuracy and availability of data proved to be an issue because not all farmers had available data and data retrieved from third-parties may not be accurate. The team ensure that their customers’ privacyis protected by having strong security measures to avoid misuse and hacking. Data ownership belongs to the farmer and they can move to a different farm management system supplier, with that data, if they choose to. The tool is free to use to avoid the issue of a digital divide. The company incorporate a strong sustainability agenda into their SIS, developing it from the European PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) and a Life-cycle assessment (LCA) framework. Overall, my report was able to evaluate how ethical issues found within the SIS literature correlate with those identified, and tackled, in practice.
