Enheduanna (2285-2250 BC), History’s First Known Author and Poet. The Assyrian Akkadian princess, and poet Enheduanna is the world’s first author known by name and was the daughter of the Assyrian Akkadian king Sargon the Great. Enheduanna wrote three hymns to goddess Inanna/ishtar which survive and which illustrate three quite different themes of ancient religious faith. At least 53 other hymns survive that are attributed to Enheduanna, including three hymns to the moon god, Nanna, and other temples, gods, and goddesses. #assyria#assyrian#assyrians#chaldean#chaldeans#cradleofcivilization#babylon#babylonian#alqosh#ainkawa#suryani#süryani#syriac#suryoyo#suryoye#turabdin#nineveh#qamishli#khabour#Erbil#midyat#mardin#mesopotamia#dargushtadmardutha#dargushtodmardutho#standwithassyria#freeassyria#ankawa#urmia Repost from @assyria_news using @RepostRegramApp - https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq8NCnOlTzZ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1i8lym4vc47cy
