turns out there was a brief period of time just after ww1 where Ukraine was independent

here we have Ukrainian People’s Republic. She was always 1 step away from exploding into a thousand warring factions and never managed to get more than 3 hours of sleep. She was modern day Ukraine’s mother, though Ukraine was too young to really remember her back then and she was USSR, Poland and a few others sister. She actually survived in exile up until just after Ukraine left the Soviet Union, this is historically accurate, the higher ups involved in it fled Ukraine after Poland and the USSR took it over and kept a small organisation going until 1991

this ramble probably made no sense just look up Ukrainian Peoples Republic and Ukrainian Peoples Republic in exile and read the Wikipedia article
